उ॒द॒प्रुतो॒ न वयो॒ रक्ष॑माणा॒ वाव॑दतो अ॒भ्रिय॑स्येव॒ घोषाः॑ । गि॒रि॒भ्रजो॒ नोर्मयो॒ मद॑न्तो॒ बृह॒स्पति॑म॒भ्य१॒॑र्का अ॑नावन् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
खेतों को जल से सींचने वाले किसान पकी फसलों को रखाते समय जैसा शब्द करते हैं अथवा बादल जिस प्रकार गर्जन करते हैं अथवा बादलों से गिरा हुआ जल समूह जिस प्रकार नाद करता है, उसी प्रकार स्तोताओं ने बृहस्पति की स्तुति की. (१)
EN English Translation
The psalms praised Jupiter in the same way that the peasants who irrigate the fields with water, the words do when they keep ripe crops, or the way the clouds roar or the group of water dropped from the clouds makes a sound. (1)
सं गोभि॑राङ्गिर॒सो नक्ष॑माणो॒ भग॑ इ॒वेद॑र्य॒मणं॑ निनाय । जने॑ मि॒त्रो न दम्प॑ती अनक्ति॒ बृह॑स्पते वा॒जया॒शूँरि॑वा॒जौ ॥ (२)

अंगिरा ऋषि के पुत्र एवं भगदेव के समान अपने तेज से सबको व्याप्त करते हुए बृहस्पति गुफा में बंद गायों तक सूर्य का प्रकाश ले गए. सूर्य जिस प्रकार जनपद में अपनी किरणों का संयोग करता है एवं पतिपत्नी को परस्पर मिलाता है, उसी प्रकार बृहस्पति ने गायों को उनके स्वामियों से मिलाया. हे बृहस्पति! गायों को युद्ध में दौड़ने वाले घोड़ों के समान दौड़ाओ. (२)
EN English Translation
The son of Sage Angira and like The Lord, permeating everyone with his brightness, Jupiter took the light of the sun to the cows locked in the cave. Just as the sun combines its rays in the district and mixes the husband and wife, so jupiter mixed the cows with their owners. O Jupiter! Run the cows like the horses that run in battle. (2)
सा॒ध्व॒र्या अ॑ति॒थिनी॑रिषि॒राः स्पा॒र्हाः सु॒वर्णा॑ अनव॒द्यरू॑पाः । बृह॒स्पतिः॒ पर्व॑तेभ्यो वि॒तूर्या॒ निर्गा ऊ॑पे॒ यव॑मिव स्थि॒विभ्यः॑ ॥ (३)

अन्न की कुठिया से जिस प्रकार जौ बाहर निकाले जाते हैं, उसी प्रकार बृहस्पति ने कल्याणकारी दूध देने वाली, नित्य गमनशील, स्पृहणीय, शोभन वर्ण वाली और प्रशंसनीयरूप से युक्त गायों को पर्वत से बाहर निकाला. (३)
EN English Translation
Just as barley is taken out of the grain kernels, Jupiter pulled out of the mountain the cows that give welfare milk, the daily walker, the swellable, the adornment and the appreciably. (3)
आ॒प्रु॒षा॒यन्मधु॑न ऋ॒तस्य॒ योनि॑मवक्षि॒पन्न॒र्क उ॒ल्कामि॑व॒ द्योः । बृह॒स्पति॑रु॒द्धर॒न्नश्म॑नो॒ गा भूम्या॑ उ॒द्नेव॒ वि त्वचं॑ बिभेद ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
आदरणीय बृहस्पति ने धरती को जल से सींचते हुए एवं मेघ को वर्षा के निमित्त बिखेरते हुए पणियों द्वारा छीनी हुई गायों को पर्वत से निकालकर धरातल को उनके खुरों से इस प्रकार छिन्नभिन्न कराया, जिस प्रकार सूर्य आकाश से अपनी किरणें गिराते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
The venerable Jupiter, watering the earth with water and scattering the cloud for rain, pulled out the cows snatched by the pangs from the mountain and separated the ground from their hooves in such a way that the sun drops its rays from the sky. (4)
अप॒ ज्योति॑षा॒ तमो॑ अ॒न्तरि॑क्षादु॒द्नः शीपा॑लमिव॒ वात॑ आजत् । बृह॒स्पति॑रनु॒मृश्या॑ व॒लस्या॒भ्रमि॑व॒ वात॒ आ च॑क्र॒ आ गाः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वायु जिस प्रकार जल से काई हटा देता है, उसी प्रकार बृहस्पति ने सूर्य के प्रकाश द्वारा पर्वत का अंधकार समाप्त किया. हवा जिस तरह बादलों को हटाती है, उसी प्रकार बृहस्पति ने विचार करके बल नामक राक्षस के स्थान में छिपी हुई गायों को बाहर निकाला. (५)
EN English Translation
Just as the air removes the moss from the water, so Jupiter ended the darkness of the mountain by the light of the sun. Just as the wind removes the clouds, Jupiter thought and pulled out the cows hidden in the place of a monster called Force. (5)
य॒दा व॒लस्य॒ पीय॑तो॒ जसुं॒ भेद्बृह॒स्पति॑रग्नि॒तपो॑भिर॒र्कैः । द॒द्भिर्न जि॒ह्वा परि॑विष्ट॒माद॑दा॒विर्नि॒धीँर॑कृणोदु॒स्रिया॑णाम् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बृहस्पति ने जिस समय हिंसक बल असुर के आयुधों को सूर्य के समान तेजस्वी तथा अग्नि के समान तृप्त करने वाले आयुरधों द्वारा छिन्नभिन्न किया, उसी समय गायों पर अधिकार कर लिया. जीभ जिस प्रकार दांतों द्वारा काटे हुए पदार्थ का भक्षण करती है, उसी प्रकार बृहस्पति ने बल को मारकर गायों को प्राप्त किया. (६)
EN English Translation
At the time when Jupiter broke the armaments of the asuras by violent force, as bright as the sun and satiating as the agni, jupiter took over the cows at the same time. Just as the tongue feeds on the substance cut by the teeth, so Jupiter killed the force and got the cows. (6)
बृह॒स्पति॒रम॑त॒ हि त्यदा॑सां॒ नाम॑ स्व॒रीणां॒ सद॑ने॒ गुहा॒ यत् । आ॒ण्डेव॑ भि॒त्त्वा श॑कु॒नस्य॒ गर्भ॒मुदु॒स्रियाः॒ पर्व॑तस्य॒ त्मना॑जत् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बृहस्पति ने गुफा में रंभाने वाली गायों का स्वर जिस समय जाना, उसी समय पर्वत को भेदकर अकेले ही गाएं इस प्रकार बाहर निकालीं, जिस प्रकार पक्षी अंडे को फोड़कर बच्चा बाहर निकालता है. (७)
EN English Translation
At the same time that Jupiter knew the tone of the cows that were standing in the cave, at the same time, he pierced the mountain and took out the singing singing alone, in such a way that the bird breaks the egg and pulls out the child. (7)
अश्नापि॑नद्धं॒ मधु॒ पर्य॑पश्य॒न्मत्स्यं॒ न दी॒न उ॒दनि॑ क्षि॒यन्त॑म् । निष्टज्ज॑भार चम॒सं न वृ॒क्षाद्बृह॒स्पति॑र्विर॒वेणा॑ वि॒कृत्य॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बृहस्पति ने पर्वत में बंद मधुर गायों को इस प्रकार देखा, जिस प्रकार थोड़े जल में मछलियां विकल दिखाई देती हैं. जिस प्रकार पेड़ की लकड़ी से सोमरस का पात्र चमस निकाला जाता है, उसी प्रकार बृहस्पति ने पर्वत से गायों को बाहर निकाला. (८)
EN English Translation
Jupiter saw the sweet cows locked in the mountain in such a way that fish are seen in a little water. Just as the pot of somras is taken out of the wood of the tree, the spoon of the somras is extracted, so jupiter pulled out the cows from the mountain. (8)
सोषाम॑विन्द॒त्स स्व१॒ः॑ सो अ॒ग्निं सो अ॒र्केण॒ वि ब॑बाधे॒ तमां॑सि । बृह॒स्पति॒र्गोव॑पुषो व॒लस्य॒ निर्म॒ज्जानं॒ न पर्व॑णो जभार ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बृहस्पति ने गायों को देखने के लिए उषा को प्राप्त किया तथा सूर्य एवं अग्नि की सहायता से अंधकार को मिटाया. जैसे हड्डी से मज्जा बाहर निकाली जाती है, उसी प्रकार बृहस्पति ने बल राक्षस की सुरक्षा से गायों को बाहर निकाला. (९)
EN English Translation
Jupiter got Usha to see the cows and erased the darkness with the help of sun and agni. Just as the marrow is pulled out of the bone, so Jupiter pulled out the cows from the protection of the force monster. (9)
हि॒मेव॑ प॒र्णा मु॑षि॒ता वना॑नि॒ बृह॒स्पति॑नाकृपयद्व॒लो गाः । अ॒ना॒नु॒कृ॒त्यम॑पु॒नश्च॑कार॒ यात्सूर्या॒मासा॑ मि॒थ उ॒च्चरा॑तः ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
पाला जिस प्रकार कमल के पत्तों को नष्ट कर देता है, उसी प्रकार बल राक्षस द्वारा चुराई गई गायों का बृहस्पति ने हरण किया. यह कार्य दूसरे के द्वारा होना संभव नहीं था और न कोई इसका अनुकरण कर सकता है. इस कार्य से सूर्य और चंद्रमा दिन तथा रात में उदित होने लगे. (१०)
EN English Translation
Just as Pala destroys the lotus leaves, so the cows stolen by the force monster are taken away by Jupiter. It was not possible to be done by another, and no one can imitate it. With this work, the sun and moon began to rise in the day and night. (10)
अ॒भि श्या॒वं न कृश॑नेभि॒रश्वं॒ नक्ष॑त्रेभिः पि॒तरो॒ द्याम॑पिंशन् । रात्र्यां॒ तमो॒ अद॑धु॒र्ज्योति॒रह॒न्बृह॒स्पति॑र्भि॒नदद्रिं॑ वि॒दद्गाः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सबका पालन करने वाले देवों ने आकाश को नक्षत्रों से इस प्रकार सजाया है, जिस प्रकार काले रंग के घोड़े को सोने के आभूषणों से सुशोभित किया जाता है. देवों ने रात में अंधकार तथा दिन में प्रकाश धारण किया. उसी समय बृहस्पति ने अपनी शक्ति से शिलासमूह को भेदकर गायों को प्राप्त किया. (११)
EN English Translation
The gods who follow all have decorated the sky with nakshatras in such a way that the black horse is adorned with gold ornaments. The gods carried darkness by night and light in the day. At the same time Jupiter got the cows by penetrating the rock group by his power. (11)
इ॒दम॑कर्म॒ नमो॑ अभ्रि॒याय॒ यः पू॒र्वीरन्वा॒नोन॑वीति । बृह॒स्पतिः॒ स हि गोभिः॒ सो अश्वैः॒ स वी॒रेभिः॒ स नृभि॑र्नो॒ वयो॑ धात् ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिन बृहस्पति ने अनेक ऋचाओं को क्रम से कहा तथा जो आकाशवासी हो गए हैं, उनको हमने नमस्कार किया. वे हमें गायों, घोड़ों, संतान एवं सेवाओं से युक्त धन दें. (१२)
EN English Translation
We greeted jupiter who said many of the riches in order and those who have become heavenly. They give us money with cows, horses, children and services. (12)
