वसू॑नां वा चर्कृष॒ इय॑क्षन्धि॒या वा॑ य॒ज्ञैर्वा॒ रोद॑स्योः । अर्व॑न्तो वा॒ ये र॑यि॒मन्तः॑ सा॒तौ व॒नुं वा॒ ये सु॒श्रुणं॑ सु॒श्रुतो॒ धुः ॥ (१)

देवों व मानवों द्वारा धनदान के इच्छुक इंद्र को धनदान के लिए स्तुतियों या यज्ञ द्वारा आकर्षित किया जाता है. संग्राम में धन कमाने के साधन घोड़े इंद्र को आकर्षित करते हैं. यज्ञ का आश्रय लेने वाले अथवा शत्रु का संहार करने वाले लोग इंद्र को आकर्षित करते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
Indra, who is desirous of giving wealth by gods and human beings, is attracted by praises or yagnas for dhandaan. The means of earning money in sangram attract horses Indra. Those who take shelter in yajna or kill the enemy attract Indra. (1)
हव॑ एषा॒मसु॑रो नक्षत॒ द्यां श्र॑वस्य॒ता मन॑सा निंसत॒ क्षाम् । चक्षा॑णा॒ यत्र॑ सुवि॒ताय॑ दे॒वा द्यौर्न वारे॑भिः कृ॒णव॑न्त॒ स्वैः ॥ (२)

इंद्र को प्रेरणा देने वाला अंगिरागोत्रीय ऋषियों का आह्वान शब्द आकाश को पूर्ण करता है. अन्न की इच्छा करने वाले देवों ने मन से धरती को प्राप्त किया. धरती पर पणियों द्वारा चुराई गई गायों को देखते हुए देवों ने अपने कल्याण के लिए अपने तेज से इस प्रकार प्रकाश किया, जिस प्रकार सूर्य चमकता है. (२)
EN English Translation
The word invocation of the Angiragotrian sages, who inspired Indra, completes the sky. The gods who wished for food received the earth from the mind. Seeing the cows stolen by the pangs on the earth, the gods lighted up for their welfare with their brightness in such a way that the sun shines. (2)
इ॒यमे॑षाम॒मृता॑नां॒ गीः स॒र्वता॑ता॒ ये कृ॒पण॑न्त॒ रत्न॑म् । धियं॑ च य॒ज्ञं च॒ साध॑न्त॒स्ते नो॑ धान्तु वस॒व्य१॒॑मसा॑मि ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यह इन मरणरहित देवों की स्तुति है. वे यज्ञ में सभी प्रकार के रत्न देते हैं. देवगण स्तुति और यज्ञ को सिद्ध करते हुए हमें अधिक धन प्रदान करें. (३)
EN English Translation
It is the praise of these godless. They give all kinds of gemstones in the yajna. May the Devas give us more money while proving the praise and yajna. (3)
आ तत्त॑ इन्द्रा॒यवः॑ पनन्ता॒भि य ऊ॒र्वं गोम॑न्तं॒ तितृ॑त्सान् । स॒कृ॒त्स्वं१॒॑ ये पु॑रुपु॒त्रां म॒हीं स॒हस्र॑धारां बृह॒तीं दुदु॑क्षन् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जो अंगिरावंशी ऋषि पणियों द्वारा चुराई गई गायों का समूह उनसे छीनना चाहते हैं, वे तुम्हारी ही स्तुति करते हैं. एक बार उत्पन्न, अनेक संतान उत्पन्न करने वाली तथा हजारों धाराओं में संपत्तिरूपी दूध दुहाने वाली धरतीरूपी गाय को दुहने के इच्छुक लोग भी इंद्र की स्तुति करते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! The angiravanshi sages who want to snatch away from the group of cows stolen by the panajis, they praise you. Even those who wish to milk the earthly cow, which once produced, produces many offspring and milks wealthy milk in thousands of streams, also praise Indra. (4)
शची॑व॒ इन्द्र॒मव॑से कृणुध्व॒मना॑नतं द॒मय॑न्तं पृत॒न्यून् । ऋ॒भु॒क्षणं॑ म॒घवा॑नं सुवृ॒क्तिं भर्ता॒ यो वज्रं॒ नर्यं॑ पुरु॒क्षुः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यज्ञकर्म करने वाले यजमानो! कभी न झुकने वाले, शत्रुओं को वश में करने वाले, महान्, धनसंपन्न, शोभन स्तुतियुक्त, प्रसिद्ध एवं मानवहितकारी वञ्ज धारण करने वाले इंद्र की शरण में रक्षा पाने के लिए जाओ. (५)
EN English Translation
O hosts who perform yajnakarma! Go to the refuge of Indra, who never bows down, subdues enemies, is great, wealthy, well-to-do, admired, famous and possessed of man-friendly vanja. (5)
यद्वा॒वान॑ पुरु॒तमं॑ पुरा॒षाळा वृ॑त्र॒हेन्द्रो॒ नामा॑न्यप्राः । अचे॑ति प्रा॒सह॒स्पति॒स्तुवि॑ष्मा॒न्यदी॑मु॒श्मसि॒ कर्त॑वे॒ कर॒त्तत् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शत्रुनगरों को पराजित करने वाले इंद्र जिस समय अत्यंत शक्तिशाली शत्रु का नाश करके वृत्रनाशक बनते हैं, उस समय धरती को जल से पूर्ण करते हैं. उस समय सबके द्वारा शत्रुपराभवकारी, सबके स्वामी व धनी जाने जाकर हम सबकी अभिलाषा पूरी करते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Indra, who defeats the enemy cities, completes the earth with water at the time when he destroys the most powerful enemy and becomes a revolutionary. At that time, we fulfill everyone's desire by knowing the enemy, the detriment, the master of all and the rich. (6)
