श्रु॒धी हव॑मिन्द्र॒ मा रि॑षण्यः॒ स्याम॑ ते दा॒वने॒ वसू॑नाम् । इ॒मा हि त्वामूर्जो॑ व॒र्धय॑न्ति वसू॒यवः॒ सिन्ध॑वो॒ न क्षर॑न्तः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! मेरी स्तुति को सुनो. इसका तिरस्कार मत करो. हम तुम्हारे धनदान के पात्र हों. बहती हुई नदी के समान घी टपकाने वाला हव्य यजमान को धन प्राप्त कराने की इच्छा से तुम्हें बढ़ाता है. (१)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Listen to my praise. Don't despise it. We deserve your money. The ghee dripping like a flowing river increases you by the desire to get money from the havya havan. (1)
सृ॒जो म॒हीरि॑न्द्र॒ या अपि॑न्वः॒ परि॑ष्ठिता॒ अहि॑ना शूर पू॒र्वीः । अम॑र्त्यं चिद्दा॒सं मन्य॑मान॒मवा॑भिनदु॒क्थैर्वा॑वृधा॒नः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शूर इंद्र! तुमने अधिक मात्रा में जल बरसाया, उसी को वृत्र असुर ने रोक लिया था. तुमने उस जल को छुड़ा दिया था. तुमने स्तुतियों द्वारा उन्नति पाकर स्वयं को मरणरहित मानने वाले दास वृत्र को नीचे पटक दिया था. (२)
EN English Translation
O Shur Indra! You rained a large amount of water, which was stopped by the Vrithra Asura. You released that water. You had threw down the asura Vritra, who considered himself to be without death, being promoted by the praises. (2)
उ॒क्थेष्विन्नु शू॑र॒ येषु॑ चा॒कन्स्तोमे॑ष्विन्द्र रु॒द्रिये॑षु च । तुभ्येदे॒ता यासु॑ मन्दसा॒नः प्र वा॒यवे॑ सिस्रते॒ न शु॒भ्राः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शूर इंद्र! तुम रुद्र-संबंधी ऋग्वेद के मंत्रों की कामना करते हो. जिन स्तुति मंत्रों को पाकर तुम प्रसन्न होते हो, वे स्तुतियां हमारे यज्ञ के प्रति आने वाले तुम्हारे लिए प्रयुक्त की जाती हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O Shur Indra! You wish for the mantras of rudra-related Rigveda. The praises that you are pleased with the mantras are used for you who come to our yajna. (3)
शु॒भ्रं नु ते॒ शुष्मं॑ व॒र्धय॑न्तः शु॒भ्रं वज्रं॑ बा॒ह्वोर्दधा॑नाः । शु॒भ्रस्त्वमि॑न्द्र वावृधा॒नो अ॒स्मे दासी॒र्विशः॒ सूर्ये॑ण सह्याः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हम स्तोत्र द्वारा तुम्हारा शोभन बल बढ़ाते हुए तुम्हारी भुजाओं में चमकता हुआ वज्र धारण करते हैं. स्तोत्रों द्वारा तेजयुक्त होकर तुम हमें हानि पहुंचाने वाले असुरों को सूर्यरूपी अस्त्र द्वारा हराते हो. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We hold a shining thunderbolt in your arms, increasing your strength of adornment by the psalm. By being sharpened by hymns, you defeat the asuras who harm us with the sun-like weapon. (4)
गुहा॑ हि॒तं गुह्यं॑ गू॒ळ्हम॒प्स्वपी॑वृतं मा॒यिनं॑ क्षि॒यन्त॑म् । उ॒तो अ॒पो द्यां त॑स्त॒भ्वांस॒मह॒न्नहिं॑ शूर वी॒र्ये॑ण ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शूर इंद्र! तुमने गुहा में सोए हुए, अंधेरे में छिपे हुए, गूढ़ अदृश्य जल में खूबे हुए, माया के द्वारा धरती और आकाश को वश में करने वाले वृत्र को अपने वज्ज से मारा था. (५)
EN English Translation
O Shur Indra! You killed with your wharf, sleeping in the cavity, hidden in the darkness, soaked in the deep invisible waters, who subdued the earth and the sky through maya. (5)
स्तवा॒ नु त॑ इन्द्र पू॒र्व्या म॒हान्यु॒त स्त॑वाम॒ नूत॑ना कृ॒तानि॑ । स्तवा॒ वज्रं॑ बा॒ह्वोरु॒शन्तं॒ स्तवा॒ हरी॒ सूर्य॑स्य के॒तू ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हम तुम्हारे प्राचीन महान् कर्मो की शीघ्र स्तुति करते हैं. हम तुम्हारे नूतन कार्यो की भी प्रशंसा करते हैं. तुम्हारी भुजाओं में वर्तमान वज्र की स्तुति करते हैं. तुम सूर्यरूप हो. तुम्हारे हरि नामक अश्च तुम्हारी पताका के समान हैं. हम उनकी भी स्तुति करते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We praise your ancient great deeds quickly. We also admire your innovative work. Praise the present thunderbolt in your arms. You are the sun. Your ass called Hari are like your flag. We praise them too. (6)
हरी॒ नु त॑ इन्द्र वा॒जय॑न्ता घृत॒श्चुतं॑ स्वा॒रम॑स्वार्ष्टाम् । वि स॑म॒ना भूमि॑रप्रथि॒ष्टारं॑स्त॒ पर्व॑तश्चित्सरि॒ष्यन् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! शीघ्रगति से चलने वाले तुम्हारे घोड़े जल बरसाने वाले बादल के समान गरजते हैं. समतल धरती प्रसन्न हुई. बादल भी इधर-उधर घूमता हुआ प्रसन्न हुआ. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Your fast-moving horses roar like a raining cloud. The flat earth was pleased. The clouds were also pleased to move around. (7)
नि पर्व॑तः सा॒द्यप्र॑युच्छ॒न्सं मा॒तृभि॑र्वावशा॒नो अ॑क्रान् । दू॒रे पा॒रे वाणीं॑ व॒र्धय॑न्त॒ इन्द्रे॑षितां ध॒मनिं॑ पप्रथ॒न्नि ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वर्षा करने में सावधान बादल आकाश में आया एवं मातारूप जल के कारण बार-बार गरजता हुआ इधर-उधर घूमने लगा. आकाश में दूर-दूर तक शब्द को बढ़ाने वाले मरुतों ने इंद्र द्वारा प्रेरित उस ध्वनि को अच्छी तरह फैला दिया. (८)
EN English Translation
A cloud of caution in the rain came into the sky and the mother started to move around again and again due to the water. The maruts who extended the word far and wide in the sky spread the sound inspired by Indra well. (8)
इन्द्रो॑ म॒हां सिन्धु॑मा॒शया॑नं माया॒विनं॑ वृ॒त्रम॑स्फुर॒न्निः । अरे॑जेतां॒ रोद॑सी भिया॒ने कनि॑क्रदतो॒ वृष्णो॑ अस्य॒ वज्रा॑त् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बलवान् इंद्र ने इधर-उधर जाने वाले मेघ में स्थित रहने वाले मायावी वृत्र को मार डाला था. जल बरसाने वाले इंद्र के शब्द करते हुए वज्र से डरे हुए धरती और आकाश कांप उठे थे. (९)
EN English Translation
Balvan Indra had killed the elusive Vritra who lived in the megh that went around. The earth and sky trembled, afraid of the thunderbolt, while making the words of Indra, who rained water. (9)
अरो॑रवी॒द्वृष्णो॑ अस्य॒ वज्रोऽमा॑नुषं॒ यन्मानु॑षो नि॒जूर्वा॑त् । नि मा॒यिनो॑ दान॒वस्य॑ मा॒या अपा॑दयत्पपि॒वान्सु॒तस्य॑ ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जब मानवहितैषी इंद्र ने मानवविरोधी वृत्र को मारने की उत्कट अभिलाषा की, उस समय कामवर्षक इंद्र के वज्र ने बार-बार शब्द किया था. निचोड़े हुए सोम को पीकर इंद्र ने मायावी वृत्र की सब माया समाप्त कर दी. (१०)
EN English Translation
When the human-friendly Indra desperately aspired to kill the anti-human vritra, the thunderbolt of the workman Indra had repeatedly spoken. By drinking the squeezed som, Indra ended all the maya of the elusive vritra. (10)
पिबा॑पि॒बेदि॑न्द्र शूर॒ सोमं॒ मन्द॑न्तु त्वा म॒न्दिनः॑ सु॒तासः॑ । पृ॒णन्त॑स्ते कु॒क्षी व॑र्धयन्त्वि॒त्था सु॒तः पौ॒र इन्द्र॑माव ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शूर इंद्र! तुम बार-बार सोमरस पिओ. मद करने वाला सोमरस तुम्हें प्रसन्न करे. सोम तुम्हारे पेट को भरकर तुम्हारी वृद्धि करे. पेट भरने वाला सोम तुम्हें तृप्त करे. (११)
EN English Translation
O Shur Indra! You drink somras over and over again. May the somras who do the item please you. Mon fills your stomach and increases yours. May the stomach-filling mon satiate you. (11)
त्वे इ॒न्द्राप्य॑भूम॒ विप्रा॒ धियं॑ वनेम ऋत॒या सप॑न्तः । अ॒व॒स्यवो॑ धीमहि॒ प्रश॑स्तिं स॒द्यस्ते॑ रा॒यो दा॒वने॑ स्याम ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हम मेधावी तुम्हारे मन में स्थान प्राप्त करेंगे. कर्मफल की इच्छा से तुम्हारी सेवा करते हुए हम तुम्हारा आश्रय पाने के लिए स्तुति करते हैं. हम इसी समय तुम्हारे धनदान के पात्र बनें. (१२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We will get the bright spot in your mind. While serving you with the will of karmaphal, we praise you for getting shelter. Let us be eligible for your donation at this time. (12)
स्याम॒ ते त॑ इन्द्र॒ ये त॑ ऊ॒ती अ॑व॒स्यव॒ ऊर्जं॑ व॒र्धय॑न्तः । शु॒ष्मिन्त॑मं॒ यं चा॒कना॑म देवा॒स्मे र॒यिं रा॑सि वी॒रव॑न्तम् ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जो लोग तुम्हारी रक्षा पाने के लिए तुम्हें अधिक मात्रा में हवि देते हैं, हम भी उन्हीं के समान तुम्हारे अधीन हो जावें. हे सबसे बलवान् इंद्र देव! हम जिस धन की कामना करते हैं, हमें वही वीर पुत्रों से युक्त धन देना. (१३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Let us submit to you like those who give you more quantities to protect you. O strongest Indra Dev! The wealth we desire, give us the same wealth of the same brave sons. (13)
रासि॒ क्षयं॒ रासि॑ मि॒त्रम॒स्मे रासि॒ शर्ध॑ इन्द्र॒ मारु॑तं नः । स॒जोष॑सो॒ ये च॑ मन्दसा॒नाः प्र वा॒यवः॑ पा॒न्त्यग्र॑णीतिम् ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम हमें घर दो, मित्र दो और मरुतों के समान महान् शक्ति दो. साथ-साथ प्रसन्न होते हुए एवं यज्ञ की ओर आते हुए मरुद्गण आगे रखा गया सोम पिएं. (१४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You give us a house, give us friends, and give us great power like the Maruts. At the same time, while happy and coming towards the yagna, the deserts should drink the som placed in front of them. (14)
व्यन्त्विन्नु येषु॑ मन्दसा॒नस्तृ॒पत्सोमं॑ पाहि द्र॒ह्यदि॑न्द्र । अ॒स्मान्सु पृ॒त्स्वा त॑रु॒त्राव॑र्धयो॒ द्यां बृ॒हद्भि॑र॒र्कैः ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जिन मरुतों की सहायता पाकर तुम प्रसन्न रहते हो, वे सोमरस पिएं. तुम स्वयं को दृढ़ करते हुए इस तृप्तिदायक सोम को पिओ. हे शन्रुनाशक इंद्र! तुम बलवान् एवं पूजनीय मरुतों के साथ आकर पशु, पुत्रादि द्वारा हमारा पालन करके धरती एवं स्वर्ग की वृद्धि करो. (१५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Drink the somers of the maruts you are happy to have help. Drink this satiating mon while you firm yourself. O Shunrushant Indra! Come with the strong and revered maruts and increase the earth and the heavens by following us by the beast, the son. (15)
बृ॒हन्त॒ इन्नु ये ते॑ तरुत्रो॒क्थेभि॑र्वा सु॒म्नमा॒विवा॑सान् । स्तृ॒णा॒नासो॑ ब॒र्हिः प॒स्त्या॑व॒त्त्वोता॒ इदि॑न्द्र॒ वाज॑मग्मन् ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे आपत्तियों से उद्धार करने वाले इंद्र! जो उक्त मंत्रो द्वारा तुझ सुखदाता की सेवा करते हैं, वे शीघ्र ही महान् बन जाते हैं. कुश बिछाकर तुम्हारी सेवा करने वाले तुमसे सुरक्षित होकर घर एवं अन्न पाते हैं. (१६)
EN English Translation
O Indra, who delivers from objections! Those who serve you with the said mantras soon become great. Those who serve you by laying the cushions are safe from you and get a house and food. (16)
उ॒ग्रेष्विन्नु शू॑र मन्दसा॒नस्त्रिक॑द्रुकेषु पाहि॒ सोम॑मिन्द्र । प्र॒दोधु॑व॒च्छ्मश्रु॑षु प्रीणा॒नो या॒हि हरि॑भ्यां सु॒तस्य॑ पी॒तिम् ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शूर इंद्र! तुम त्रिकंदु नामक उग्र दिनों में प्रसन्न होते हुए सोमरस पिओ. इसके बाद प्रसन्न होते हुए एवं अपनी दाढ़ी में लगी सोमरस की बूंदों को बार-बार झाड़ते हुए अपने घोड़ों द्वारा सोमरस पीने के विचार से दूसरी जगह जाओ. (१७)
EN English Translation
O Shur Indra! You drink somras while you are delighted in the furious days called Trikandu. After this, while being happy and repeatedly sweeping the drops of somras in your beard, go to another place with the idea of drinking somras by your horses. (17)
धि॒ष्वा शवः॑ शूर॒ येन॑ वृ॒त्रम॒वाभि॑न॒द्दानु॑मौर्णवा॒भम् । अपा॑वृणो॒र्ज्योति॒रार्या॑य॒ नि स॑व्य॒तः सा॑दि॒ दस्यु॑रिन्द्र ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शूर इंद्र! वह बल धारण करो, जिसके द्वारा तुमने दनुपुत्र वृत्र को मकड़ी के समान मसल डाला था. तुमने आर्यो के लिए प्रकाश का उद्घाटन किया एवं दस्यु तुम्हारे द्वारा सताए गए. (१८)
EN English Translation
O Brave Indra! Assume the strength by which you crushed the son of Danuputra Vritra like a spider. You opened the light to the Aryans and the bandits were persecuted by you. (18)
सने॑म॒ ये त॑ ऊ॒तिभि॒स्तर॑न्तो॒ विश्वाः॒ स्पृध॒ आर्ये॑ण॒ दस्यू॑न् । अ॒स्मभ्यं॒ तत्त्वा॒ष्ट्रं वि॒श्वरू॑प॒मर॑न्धयः सा॒ख्यस्य॑ त्रि॒ताय॑ ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम उन लोगों की प्रशंसा करते हैं, जो तुम्हारे द्वारा सुरक्षित होकर सभी से उत्तम सिद्ध हुए एवं जिन्होंने आर्य बनकर दस्युजनों पर विजय पाई. जिस प्रकार तुमने त्रित का सखा बनकर त्वष्टा के पुत्र विश्वरूप का वध किया, वैसा ही कार्य हमारे लिए भी करो. (१९)
EN English Translation
We praise those who have been secured by you and proved superior to all, and who became Aryans and conquered the bandits. Just as you have killed Vishwaroop, the son of Taksha by becoming the friend of the Trinity, do the same for us. (19)
अ॒स्य सु॑वा॒नस्य॑ म॒न्दिन॑स्त्रि॒तस्य॒ न्यर्बु॑दं वावृधा॒नो अ॑स्तः । अव॑र्तय॒त्सूर्यो॒ न च॒क्रं भि॒नद्व॒लमिन्द्रो॒ अङ्गि॑रस्वान् ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र ने प्रसन्न एवं सोम निचोड़ने वाले त्रित द्वारा उन्नति पाकर अर्बुद को नष्ट किया था. सूर्य जिस प्रकार अपने रथ के पहिए को आगे चलाते हैं, उसी प्रकार अंगिराओं की सहायता पाकर इंद्र ने अपना वज्र चलाया और बल का नाश किया. (२०)
EN English Translation
Indra had destroyed Arbud by attaining progress by the trita, who was pleased and squeezing the som. Just as the Sun moves the wheel of his chariot forward, indra, with the help of the angiras, wielded his vajra and destroyed the force. (20)
नू॒नं सा ते॒ प्रति॒ वरं॑ जरि॒त्रे दु॑ही॒यदि॑न्द्र॒ दक्षि॑णा म॒घोनी॑ । शिक्षा॑ स्तो॒तृभ्यो॒ माति॑ ध॒ग्भगो॑ नो बृ॒हद्व॑देम वि॒दथे॑ सु॒वीराः॑ ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम्हारी जो धनयुक्त दक्षिणा स्तोता की इच्छा पूरी करती है, वह हमें प्रदान करो. तुम सेवा करने योग्य हो, इसलिए हमारे अतिरिक्त वह दक्षिणा किसी को मत देना. हम पुत्र- पौत्र आदि को साथ लेकर इस यज्ञ में तुम्हारी अधिक स्तुति करेंगे. (२१)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Give us the rich dakshina that fulfills the wish of the saint with your wealth. You are worthy of service, so don't give that dakshina to anyone other than us. We will take the sons, grandsons, etc., along with us and praise you more in this yajna. (21)
