यो जा॒त ए॒व प्र॑थ॒मो मन॑स्वान्दे॒वो दे॒वान्क्रतु॑ना प॒र्यभू॑षत् । यस्य॒ शुष्मा॒द्रोद॑सी॒ अभ्य॑सेतां नृ॒म्णस्य॑ म॒ह्ना स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! जिसने उत्पन्न होते ही देवों एवं मनुष्यों में प्रथम स्थान प्राप्त करके अपने वीर कर्म से देवों को विभूषित किया था, जिसके बल से धरती और आकाश डर गए थे और जो विशाल सेना के नायक थे, वही इंदर हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O men! He who, as soon as he was born, took the first place among the gods and men and adorned the gods with his heroic deeds, by the strength of which the earth and the sky were afraid, and who was the hero of the great army, he is the Inder. (1)
यः पृ॑थि॒वीं व्यथ॑माना॒मदृं॑ह॒द्यः पर्व॑ता॒न्प्रकु॑पिता॒ँ अर॑म्णात् । यो अ॒न्तरि॑क्षं विम॒मे वरी॑यो॒ यो द्यामस्त॑भ्ना॒त्स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! जिसने चंचल पृथ्वी को दृढ़ किया, क्रोधित पर्वतों को नियमित किया, विशाल अंतरिक्ष को बनाया एवं आकाश को स्थिर किया, वही इंद्र हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O men! He who strengthened the fickle earth, regularized the angry mountains, created vast space and stabilized the sky, he is Indra. (2)
यो ह॒त्वाहि॒मरि॑णात्स॒प्त सिन्धू॒न्यो गा उ॒दाज॑दप॒धा व॒लस्य॑ । यो अश्म॑नोर॒न्तर॒ग्निं ज॒जान॑ सं॒वृक्स॒मत्सु॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! जिसने वृत्र को मारकर सात नदियों को बहाया, जिसने बल असुर द्वारा रोकी गई गायों को स्वतंत्र किया, जिसने दो बादलों के घर्षण से बिजली रूपी अग्नि को उत्पन्न किया एवं जो युद्धस्थल में शत्रुओं का विनाश करता है, वही इंद्र हें. (३)
EN English Translation
O men! The one who killed the Vritra and swept away the seven rivers, who liberated the cows stopped by the force asura, who produced the electric agni from the friction of the two clouds and who destroys the enemies in the battlefield is Indra. (3)
येने॒मा विश्वा॒ च्यव॑ना कृ॒तानि॒ यो दासं॒ वर्ण॒मध॑रं॒ गुहाकः॑ । श्व॒घ्नीव॒ यो जि॑गी॒वाँल्ल॒क्षमाद॑द॒र्यः पु॒ष्टानि॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! जिसने नश्वर संसार को बनाया है एवं जिसने विनाशक असुर को अंधेरी गुहा में बंद किया, जिस प्रकार बहेलिया मारे हुए पशु को ले जाता है, उसी प्रकार जो जीते हुए शत्रु का सब धन अधिकार में कर लेता है, वही इंदर हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
O men! He who created the mortal world and who locked the destructive asura in the dark cavity, just as Behelia takes away the slain animal, so he who takes possession of all the wealth of the conquering enemy, he is the Inder. (4)
यं स्मा॑ पृ॒च्छन्ति॒ कुह॒ सेति॑ घो॒रमु॒तेमा॑हु॒र्नैषो अ॒स्तीत्ये॑नम् । सो अ॒र्यः पु॒ष्टीर्विज॑ इ॒वा मि॑नाति॒ श्रद॑स्मै धत्त॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! जिसके विषय में लोग पूछते हैं कि वह कहां है? जिसके विषय में लोग कहते हैं कि वह नहीं है. जो शत्रु की संपत्ति को नष्ट करता है, वही इंद्र हैं. उनके प्रति श्रद्धा करो. (५)
EN English Translation
O men! About whom people ask where he is? About which people say that he is not. The one who destroys the enemy's property is Indra. Have faith in them. (5)
यो र॒ध्रस्य॑ चोदि॒ता यः कृ॒शस्य॒ यो ब्र॒ह्मणो॒ नाध॑मानस्य की॒रेः । यु॒क्तग्रा॑व्णो॒ योऽवि॒ता सु॑शि॒प्रः सु॒तसो॑मस्य॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! जो संपन्न व्यक्ति को धन देता है, जो दीनदुर्बल अथवा प्रार्थना करते हुए स्तोता को धन प्रदान करता है, जो शोभन हनु वाला, हाथ में पत्थर धारण करने वाले तथा सोम निचोड़ने वाले यजमान की रक्षा करता है, वही इंद्र हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
O men! The one who gives wealth to the affluent person, who gives wealth to the saint while praying, who protects the host with Shobhan Hanu, who holds a stone in his hand and squeezes soma, is Indra. (6)
यस्याश्वा॑सः प्र॒दिशि॒ यस्य॒ गावो॒ यस्य॒ ग्रामा॒ यस्य॒ विश्वे॒ रथा॑सः । यः सूर्यं॒ य उ॒षसं॑ ज॒जान॒ यो अ॒पां ने॒ता स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! समस्त अश्च, गाएं, गांव एवं रथ जिसके अधिकार में हैं, जिसने सूर्य एवं उषा को उत्पन्न किया और जो जल को बहने की प्रेरणा देता है, वही इंद्र हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
O men! All the assh, the cows, the villages and the chariots are in whose possession, he who created the sun and usha, and who inspires the water to flow, is indra. (7)
यं क्रन्द॑सी संय॒ती वि॒ह्वये॑ते॒ परेऽव॑र उ॒भया॑ अ॒मित्राः॑ । स॒मा॒नं चि॒द्रथ॑मातस्थि॒वांसा॒ नाना॑ हवेते॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! शब्द करती हुई दो विरोधी सेनाएं, श्रेष्ठ एवं निम्न दोनों प्रकार के शत्रु एवं एक ही प्रकार के दो रथों पर बैठे हुए लोग जिसे अपनी सहायता के लिए बुलाते हैं, वही इंद्र हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
O men! The two opposing armies, both superior and lower, and the people sitting on two chariots of the same type, are the ones whom they call to help them, that is Indra. (8)
यस्मा॒न्न ऋ॒ते वि॒जय॑न्ते॒ जना॑सो॒ यं युध्य॑माना॒ अव॑से॒ हव॑न्ते । यो विश्व॑स्य प्रति॒मानं॑ ब॒भूव॒ यो अ॑च्युत॒च्युत्स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! जिसकी सहायता के बिना लोगों को विजय नहीं मिलती, युद्ध करते हुए लोग जिसे अपनी रक्षा के लिए बुलाते हैं, जो संसार के प्रतिनिधि बने थे एवं स्थिर पर्वत आदि को भी चंचल कर देते हैं, वही इंद्र हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
O men! Without whose help the people do not get victory, the one whom the people call to protect themselves while fighting, who became the representative of the world and also make the stable mountains, etc., fickle, is indra. (9)
यः शश्व॑तो॒ मह्येनो॒ दधा॑ना॒नम॑न्यमाना॒ञ्छर्वा॑ ज॒घान॑ । यः शर्ध॑ते॒ नानु॒ददा॑ति शृ॒ध्यां यो दस्यो॑र्ह॒न्ता स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! जिसने बहुत से पापी एवं अयाजक जनों का नाश किया, जो गर्व करने वाले को सिद्धि प्रदान नहीं करते एवं जो दस्युओं का हनन करने वाले हैं, वही इंद्र हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
O men! He who has destroyed many sinners and non-priests, who do not give perfection to the proud one, and those who violate bandits are the ones who are blasphemers, they are Indra. (10)
यः शम्ब॑रं॒ पर्व॑तेषु क्षि॒यन्तं॑ चत्वारिं॒श्यां श॒रद्य॒न्ववि॑न्दत् । ओ॒जा॒यमा॑नं॒ यो अहिं॑ ज॒घान॒ दानुं॒ शया॑नं॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! जिसने पर्वतों में छिपे हुए शंबर असुर को चालीसवें वर्ष में प्राप्त किया था, जिसने बल प्रयोग करने वाले पर्वत में सोए हुए दनु नामक असुर को मारा था, वही इंदर हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
O men! The one who received the Shambar Asura hidden in the mountains in the fortieth year, who killed the asura named Danu, who was sleeping in the mountain using force, is Inder. (11)
यः स॒प्तर॑श्मिर्वृष॒भस्तुवि॑ष्मान॒वासृ॑ज॒त्सर्त॑वे स॒प्त सिन्धू॑न् । यो रौ॑हि॒णमस्फु॑र॒द्वज्र॑बाहु॒र्द्यामा॒रोह॑न्तं॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! जो सात रश्मियों वाले, कामवर्षी एवं बलवान् हैं, जिन्होंने सात नदियों को बहाया है और जिन्होंने हाथ में वज्र लेकर स्वर्ग जाने को तत्पर रोहिण असुर का विनाश किया, वही इंदर हैं. (१२)
EN English Translation
O men! Those who are the seven Rashmis, the Kamvarshis and the Balwans, who have flown the seven rivers, and who have destroyed the Rohin Asura who is ready to go to heaven with a thunderbolt in their hands, are the same Inder. (12)
द्यावा॑ चिदस्मै पृथि॒वी न॑मेते॒ शुष्मा॑च्चिदस्य॒ पर्व॑ता भयन्ते । यः सो॑म॒पा नि॑चि॒तो वज्र॑बाहु॒र्यो वज्र॑हस्तः॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! धरती और आकाश जिसके सामने झुकते हैं, जिसकी शक्ति के कारण पर्वत डरते हैं और जो सोमपानकर्ता, सबसे अधिक दृढ़ शरीर वाला, वज्र के समान दृढ़ भुजाओं वाला एवं हाथ में वज्र धारणकर्ता है, वही इंद्र हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
O men! The one before whom the earth and the sky bow down, whose power the mountains fear, and the one who is the doer of sompan, the strongest body, with firm arms like a thunderbolt and holding the thunderbolt in his hand, is Indra. (13)
यः सु॒न्वन्त॒मव॑ति॒ यः पच॑न्तं॒ यः शंस॑न्तं॒ यः श॑शमा॒नमू॒ती । यस्य॒ ब्रह्म॒ वर्ध॑नं॒ यस्य॒ सोमो॒ यस्ये॒दं राधः॒ स ज॑नास॒ इन्द्रः॑ ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! जो सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले यजमान, पुरोडाश पकाने वाले व्यक्ति, स्तुति रचना करने वाले एवं पढ़ने वाले की रक्षा करता है, हमारा अन्न, सोम एवं स्तोत्र जिसे बढ़ाने वाले हैं, वही इंद्र हैं. (१४)
EN English Translation
O men! The one who protects the host who squeezes the somras, the one who cooks the purodash, the one who composes the praises and the one who reads, our grain, the som and the hymns that are supposed to increase, is indra. (14)
यः सु॑न्व॒ते पच॑ते दु॒ध्र आ चि॒द्वाजं॒ दर्द॑र्षि॒ स किला॑सि स॒त्यः । व॒यं त॑ इन्द्र वि॒श्वह॑ प्रि॒यासः॑ सु॒वीरा॑सो वि॒दथ॒मा व॑देम ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे दुर्धर्ष इंद्र! तुम सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले एवं पुरोडाश पकाने वाले यजमान की रक्षा करते हो, अतः तुम सच्चे हो. हम प्रिय एवं वीर पुत्रों से युक्त होकर बहुत दिनों तक तुम्हारी स्तुतियों का पाठ करेंगे. (१५)
EN English Translation
O You Are The Terrible Indra! You protect the host who squeezes the somras and cooks the purodash, so you are truthful. We will recite your praises for many days, consisting of beloved and brave sons. (15)
