ऋ॒तुर्जनि॑त्री॒ तस्या॑ अ॒पस्परि॑ म॒क्षू जा॒त आवि॑श॒द्यासु॒ वर्ध॑ते । तदा॑ह॒ना अ॑भवत्पि॒प्युषी॒ पयों॒ऽशोः पी॒यूषं॑ प्रथ॒मं तदु॒क्थ्य॑म् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वर्षा ऋतु सोम की जननी है. वह जिस जल से उत्पन्न होता है, जिसमें बढ़ता है, उसीमें बाद में प्रविष्ट हो जाता है. जो सोम जल का अंश धारण करता हुआ बढ़ता है, वही निचोड़ने योग्य है एवं उसीका रस रूपी अंश इंद्र का पहला भाग है. (१)
EN English Translation
The rainy season is the mother of Som. It enters the water from which it grows, later into it. The one who grows by holding the part of Som water is the same to be squeezed and its juice-like fraction is the first part of Indra. (1)
स॒ध्रीमा य॑न्ति॒ परि॒ बिभ्र॑तीः॒ पयो॑ वि॒श्वप्स्न्या॑य॒ प्र भ॑रन्त॒ भोज॑नम् । स॒मा॒नो अध्वा॑ प्र॒वता॑मनु॒ष्यदे॒ यस्ताकृ॑णोः प्रथ॒मं सास्यु॒क्थ्यः॑ ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जल धारण करने वाली नदियां आपस में मिलकर चारों ओर बह रही हैं एवं जल के स्वामी सागर को भोजन पहुंचाती हैं. नीचे की ओर बहने वाले जलों का रास्ता एक समान है. जिस इंद्र ने प्राचीन काल में ये सब काम किए हैं, वह प्रशंसा के योग्य है. (२)
EN English Translation
The rivers that hold water are flowing around with each other and deliver food to the ocean, the lord of the water. The path of the waters flowing downwards is uniform. The Indra who has done all these things in ancient times is worthy of praise. (2)
अन्वेको॑ वदति॒ यद्ददा॑ति॒ तद्रू॒पा मि॒नन्तद॑पा॒ एक॑ ईयते । विश्वा॒ एक॑स्य वि॒नुद॑स्तितिक्षते॒ यस्ताकृ॑णोः प्रथ॒मं सास्यु॒क्थ्यः॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यजमान दान करता है. होता उसका वर्णन करता है. अध्वर्यु रूपधारी पशुओं की हिंसा करता हुआ इसी काम के लिए सभी जगह जाता है. ब्रह्मा उसके सब कर्मदोषों का प्रायश्चित्त करता है. हे इंद्र! पहले तुमने ये सब कर्म किए हैं, इसलिए तुम प्रशंसनीय हो. (३)
EN English Translation
The host donates. Would describe him. The adhwaryu goes everywhere for the same purpose while committing violence against the animals of the form. Brahma atones for all his karmas. O Indra! You have done all these deeds before, so you are praiseworthy. (3)
प्र॒जाभ्यः॑ पु॒ष्टिं वि॒भज॑न्त आसते र॒यिमि॑व पृ॒ष्ठं प्र॒भव॑न्तमाय॒ते । असि॑न्व॒न्दंष्ट्रैः॑ पि॒तुर॑त्ति॒ भोज॑नं॒ यस्ताकृ॑णोः प्रथ॒मं सास्यु॒क्थ्यः॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जिस प्रकार घर आए हुए अतिथियों को धन का विभाग किया जाता है, उसी प्रकार गृह में भी लोग तुम्हारे द्वारा दिया हुआ धन प्रजाओं में बांटते हैं. लोग पिता के द्वारा दिया हुआ भोजन दांतों से भक्षण करते है. तुमने पूर्वकाल में ये सब कार्य किए हैं, इसलिए तुम स्तुति के योग्य हो. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Just as the department of money is done to the guests who come home, in the same way people in the house also distribute the money given by you among the people. People eat the food given by the father with their teeth. You have done all these things in the past, so you are worthy of praise. (4)
अधा॑कृणोः पृथि॒वीं सं॒दृशे॑ दि॒वे यो धौ॑ती॒नाम॑हिह॒न्नारि॑णक्प॒थः । तं त्वा॒ स्तोमे॑भिरु॒दभि॒र्न वा॒जिनं॑ दे॒वं दे॒वा अ॑जन॒न्सास्यु॒क्थ्यः॑ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुमने धरती को सूर्य के लिए दर्शनीय बनाया है एवं नदियों के मार्ग को गमन योग्य बनाया है. हे वृत्रनाशक इंद्र! जिस प्रकार जल से घोड़े को संतुष्ट करते हैं, उसी प्रकार स्तोतागण स्तुतियों से तुम्हें बढ़ाते हैं. तुम स्तुति के योग्य हो. (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You have made the earth visible to the sun and you have made the path of the rivers transmissible. O the conqueror Indra! Just as they satisfy the horse with water, so the Psalms increase you with praises. You are worthy of praise. (5)
यो भोज॑नं च॒ दय॑से च॒ वर्ध॑नमा॒र्द्रादा शुष्कं॒ मधु॑मद्दु॒दोहि॑थ । स शे॑व॒धिं नि द॑धिषे वि॒वस्व॑ति॒ विश्व॒स्यैक॑ ईशिषे॒ सास्यु॒क्थ्यः॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम यजमान के लिए भोजन एवं बढ़ने वाला धन देते हो. तुम गांठों से सूखे हुए गेहूं आदि मधुर रस वाली फसलों का दोहन करते हो. तुम सेवा करने वाले यजमान को धन देते हो और संसार के एकमात्र स्वामी एवं प्रशंसा के योग्य हो. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You give food and money for the host. You exploit crops with sweet juices like dried wheat etc. with lumps. You give wealth to the serving host and are the only master of the world and worthy of praise. (6)
यः पु॒ष्पिणी॑श्च प्र॒स्व॑श्च॒ धर्म॒णाधि॒ दाने॒ व्य१॒॑वनी॒रधा॑रयः । यश्चास॑मा॒ अज॑नो दि॒द्युतो॑ दि॒व उ॒रुरू॒र्वाँ अ॒भितः॒ सास्यु॒क्थ्यः॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम अपने वर्षारूपी कर्म द्वारा खेतों में फूल और फल वाली ओषधियों को धारण करते हो. तुमने सूर्य की अनेक किरणों को उत्पन्न किया है एवं स्वयं महान् बनकर चारों ओर बड़े-बड़े प्राणियों को जन्म दिया है. तुम स्तुति के योग्य हो. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You wear flowers and fruit-bearing herbs in the fields through your rainy deeds. You have created many rays of the sun and have become great yourself and have given birth to great beings all around. You are worthy of praise. (7)
यो ना॑र्म॒रं स॒हव॑सुं॒ निह॑न्तवे पृ॒क्षाय॑ च दा॒सवे॑शाय॒ चाव॑हः । ऊ॒र्जय॑न्त्या॒ अप॑रिविष्टमा॒स्य॑मु॒तैवाद्य पु॑रुकृ॒त्सास्यु॒क्थ्यः॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अनेक कर्मो के कर्ता इंद्र! तुमने दस्युओं के विनाश एवं यज्ञ में हव्य पाने के लिए नृमर के पुत्र सहवसु नामक असुर को मारने के लिए बलवान् वज्र की चमकीली धार का मुंह उस ओर कर दिया. तुम स्तुति के योग्य हो. (८)
EN English Translation
O Indra, the creator of many deeds! You turned the bright edge of balvan vajra towards the destruction of the bandits and to kill the asura named Sahavasu, the son of Narmer, to find a havan in the yagna. You are worthy of praise. (8)
श॒तं वा॒ यस्य॒ दश॑ सा॒कमाद्य॒ एक॑स्य श्रु॒ष्टौ यद्ध॑ चो॒दमावि॑थ । अ॒र॒ज्जौ दस्यू॒न्समु॑नब्द॒भीत॑ये सुप्रा॒व्यो॑ अभवः॒ सास्यु॒क्थ्यः॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम अकेले को सुख पहुंचाने के लिए दस सौ घोड़े हो. तुम यजमान की रक्षा करते हो. तुमने दधीचि ऋषि के कल्याण के लिए बिना रस्सी वाले बंदीगृह में दस्यु का नाश किया. तुम सबके प्राप्य एवं स्तुतिपात्र हो. (९)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You have ten hundred horses to bring happiness to you alone. You protect the host. You destroyed the bandit in the prison without a rope for the welfare of sage Dadhichi. You are all attainable and praiseworthy. (9)
विश्वेदनु॑ रोध॒ना अ॑स्य॒ पौंस्यं॑ द॒दुर॑स्मै दधि॒रे कृ॒त्नवे॒ धन॑म् । षळ॑स्तभ्ना वि॒ष्टिरः॒ पञ्च॑ सं॒दृशः॒ परि॑ प॒रो अ॑भवः॒ सास्यु॒क्थ्यः॑ ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! सारी नदियां तुम्हारी शक्ति के अनुसार बहती हैं. यजमान कर्म करने वाले तुमको अन्न देते हैं एवं तुम्हारे निमित्त धन धारण करते हैं. तुमने छह विशाल स्थानों को दृढ़ बनाया है एवं तुम पंचजनों का सब प्रकार से पालन करते हो. तुम प्रशंसा के योग्य हो. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Indra! All the rivers flow according to your power. Those who do the host deeds give you food and hold wealth for you. You have fortified six vast places and you follow the Panchjanas in every way. You deserve praise. (10)
सु॒प्र॒वा॒च॒नं तव॑ वीर वी॒र्यं१॒॑ यदेके॑न॒ क्रतु॑ना वि॒न्दसे॒ वसु॑ । जा॒तूष्ठि॑रस्य॒ प्र वयः॒ सह॑स्वतो॒ या च॒कर्थ॒ सेन्द्र॒ विश्वा॑स्यु॒क्थ्यः॑ ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वीर इंद्र! तुम्हारा सामर्थ्य सबके लिए प्रशंसा के योग्य है, क्योंकि एक कर्म द्वारा ही तुम शत्रुओं का धन पा लेते हो, तुमने शक्तिशाली जातुष्छिर को अन्न दिया था. ये सभी कार्य तुमने किए हैं, इसलिए तुम स्तुति के पात्र हो. (११)
EN English Translation
O brave Indra! Your power is worthy of praise for all, because it is through one action that you get the wealth of the enemies, you gave food to the mighty Jatushchir. You have done all these things, so you deserve praise. (11)
अर॑मयः॒ सर॑पस॒स्तरा॑य॒ कं तु॒र्वीत॑ये च व॒य्या॑य च स्रु॒तिम् । नी॒चा सन्त॒मुद॑नयः परा॒वृजं॒ प्रान्धं श्रो॒णं श्र॒वय॒न्सास्यु॒क्थ्यः॑ ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुमने बहने वाले जल के उस पार सरलता से पहुंचने के लिए तुर्वीति एवं वय्य के लिए मार्ग बनाया तथा जल में डूबे एवं तल में वर्तमान अंधे-पंगु परावृज का उद्धार करके कीर्ति प्राप्त की. तुम प्रशंसा के योग्य हो. (१२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You have made a path for turvity and age to easily reach across the flowing water and attained fame by saving the present blind-crippled paravrija in the water and in the bottom. (12)
अ॒स्मभ्यं॒ तद्व॑सो दा॒नाय॒ राधः॒ सम॑र्थयस्व ब॒हु ते॑ वस॒व्य॑म् । इन्द्र॒ यच्चि॒त्रं श्र॑व॒स्या अनु॒ द्यून्बृ॒हद्व॑देम वि॒दथे॑ सु॒वीराः॑ ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे निवासदाता इंद्र! हमें दानादि के लिए अपना पर्याप्त, विचित्र एवं शरण लेने योग्य धन प्रदान करो. हम प्रतिदिन उस धन को भोगने के इच्छुक हैं. हम उत्तम पुत्र एवं पौत्र प्राप्त करके इस यज्ञ में बहुत सी स्तुतियों का पाठ करेंगे. (१३)
EN English Translation
O Lord Indra! Give us your adequate, bizarre and asylum-taking money for charity. We are willing to enjoy that money every day. We will receive the best sons and grandsons and recite many praises in this yajna. (13)
