तद॑स्मै॒ नव्य॑मङ्गिर॒स्वद॑र्चत॒ शुष्मा॒ यद॑स्य प्र॒त्नथो॒दीर॑ते । विश्वा॒ यद्गो॒त्रा सह॑सा॒ परी॑वृता॒ मदे॒ सोम॑स्य दृंहि॒तान्यैर॑यत् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्तोताओ! इंद्र का शत्रुनाशक तेज प्राचीनकाल के समान उदित होता है, इसलिए तुम अत्यंत नवीन स्तुतियों द्वारा अंगिराओं के समान इंद्र की पूजा करो. इंद्र ने सोमरस के मद में वृत्र असुर द्वारा रोके हुए मेघों को स्वतंत्र कर दिया था. (१)
EN English Translation
This stotao! Indra's anti-hostile radiance rises like ancient times, so you worship Indra like the Angiras with the most innovative praises. Indra had freed the clouds stopped by the Vrithra asuras in the head of Somras. (1)
स भू॑तु॒ यो ह॑ प्रथ॒माय॒ धाय॑स॒ ओजो॒ मिमा॑नो महि॒मान॒माति॑रत् । शूरो॒ यो यु॒त्सु त॒न्वं॑ परि॒व्यत॑ शी॒र्षणि॒ द्यां म॑हि॒ना प्रत्य॑मुञ्चत ॥ (२)

उन इंद्र की वृद्धि हो, जिन्होंने अपने बल का प्रदर्शन करते हुए सबसे पहले सोमरस पीने के लिए अपनी महिमा बढ़ाई थी, युद्धकाल में शन्रुहंता बनकर अपने शरीर की रक्षा की थी एवं अपनी महिमा के कारण आकाश को शीश पर धारण किया था. (२)
EN English Translation
Be it the growth of indra, who, while demonstrating his force, had first increased his glory to drink somers, protected his body by becoming a shanruhanta in the wartime and held the sky on the shisha because of his glory. (2)
अधा॑कृणोः प्रथ॒मं वी॒र्यं॑ म॒हद्यद॒स्याग्रे॒ ब्रह्म॑णा॒ शुष्म॒मैर॑यः । र॒थे॒ष्ठेन॒ हर्य॑श्वेन॒ विच्यु॑ताः॒ प्र जी॒रयः॑ सिस्रते स॒ध्र्य१॒॑क्पृथ॑क् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुमने स्तुतियों द्वारा प्रसन्न होकर अपना शत्रुनाशक बल उत्पन्न किया है. इस प्रकार तुमने अपनी मुख्य शक्तियों का प्रदर्शन किया है. हरि नामक घोड़ों से युक्त रथ में बैठे हुए तुमने कुछ शत्रुओं को दल बनाकर और कुछ को अलग-अलग भागने पर विवश कर दिया है. (३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You have created your own anti-hostile force by being pleased with the praises. Thus you have demonstrated your main strengths. Sitting in a chariot with horses called Hari, you have made some enemies a party and forced some to flee separately. (3)
अधा॒ यो विश्वा॒ भुव॑ना॒भि म॒ज्मने॑शान॒कृत्प्रव॑या अ॒भ्यव॑र्धत । आद्रोद॑सी॒ ज्योति॑षा॒ वह्नि॒रात॑नो॒त्सीव्य॒न्तमां॑सि॒ दुधि॑ता॒ सम॑व्ययत् ॥ (४)

पुरातन इंद्र ने अपनी शक्ति से भुवनों को हरा कर स्वयं को उनके अधिपति के रूप में प्रसिद्ध किया है. इसके पश्चात् विश्व को धारण करने वाले इंद्र ने धरती और आकाश को व्याप्त किया है. उन्होंने अंधकाररूप राक्षसों को दुःख में डालते हुए सारे संसार को घेर लिया है. (४)
EN English Translation
The ancient Indra has defeated the Bhuvanas with his power and made himself famous as his overlord. After this, Indra, who holds the world, has pervaded the earth and the sky. They have surrounded the whole world, putting the dark monsters in grief. (4)
स प्रा॒चीना॒न्पर्व॑तान्दृंह॒दोज॑साधरा॒चीन॑मकृणोद॒पामपः॑ । अधा॑रयत्पृथि॒वीं वि॒श्वधा॑यस॒मस्त॑भ्नान्मा॒यया॒ द्याम॑व॒स्रसः॑ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र ने अपनी शक्ति द्वारा इधर-उधर जाने वाले पर्वतों को अचल बनाया है, मेघों के जल को नीचे की ओर गिराया है, सबको धारण करने वाली धरती को सहारा दिया है और अपने बुद्धिबल से आकाश को नीचे गिरने से रोका है. (५)
EN English Translation
Indra, by his power, has made the mountains moving around immovable, has dropped the waters of the clouds downwards, supported the earth that holds all, and with his wisdom has prevented the sky from falling down. (5)
सास्मा॒ अरं॑ बा॒हुभ्यां॒ यं पि॒ताकृ॑णो॒द्विश्व॑स्मा॒दा ज॒नुषो॒ वेद॑स॒स्परि॑ । येना॑ पृथि॒व्यां नि क्रिविं॑ श॒यध्यै॒ वज्रे॑ण ह॒त्व्यवृ॑णक्तुवि॒ष्वणिः॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र इस संसार की रक्षा के लिए पर्याप्त सिद्ध हुए हैं. जिन्होंने सभी जीवों की अपेक्षा ज्ञानरूपी बल अधिक मात्रा में प्राप्त करके अपने हाथों से संसार का निर्माण किया है. परम कीर्तिशाली इंद्र ने इसी ज्ञान के द्वारा क्रिवि नामक असुर को अपने वज्र से मारकर धरती पर सुला दिया था. (६)
EN English Translation
Indra has proved to be enough to protect this world. Who have created the world with their own hands by gaining more than all beings with the force of knowledge. It was through this knowledge that indra, the most famous, had killed the asura named Krivi with his thunderbolt and put him to sleep on the earth. (6)
अ॒मा॒जूरि॑व पि॒त्रोः सचा॑ स॒ती स॑मा॒नादा सद॑स॒स्त्वामि॑ये॒ भग॑म् । कृ॒धि प्र॑के॒तमुप॑ मा॒स्या भ॑र द॒द्धि भा॒गं त॒न्वो॒३॒॑ येन॑ मा॒महः॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! मृत्युपर्यंत माता-पिता के साथ रहने की इच्छा वाली कन्या जिस प्रकार अपने पिता के कुल से भाग मांगती है, उसी प्रकार मैं भी तुमसे धन की याचना कर रहा हूं. उस धन को प्रकट करो, उसकी गणना करो एवं उसे पूर्ण करो. मेरे शरीर के भोग के लिए धन दो. जिससे मैं इन स्तोताओं का सत्कार कर सकूं. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Just as a girl who wants to be with her parents till death asks for a share from her father's family, I am also asking you for money. Reveal that wealth, calculate it, and complete it. Give money for the indulgence of my body. So that I can welcome these hymns. (7)
भो॒जं त्वामि॑न्द्र व॒यं हु॑वेम द॒दिष्ट्वमि॒न्द्रापां॑सि॒ वाजा॑न् । अ॒वि॒ड्ढी॑न्द्र चि॒त्रया॑ न ऊ॒ती कृ॒धि वृ॑षन्निन्द्र॒ वस्य॑सो नः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुझ पालनकर्ता को हम बुलाते हैं. तुम यज्ञकर्म एवं अन्न के दाता हो. तुम अपनी विचित्र रक्षा शक्तियों द्वारा हमारा उद्धार करो. हे कामवर्षक इंद्र! हमें परम संपत्तिशाली बनाओ. (८)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We call you the Lord. You are the giver of yajnakarma and food. You save us by your bizarre defense powers. O workman Indra! Make us the ultimate wealthy. (8)
नू॒नं सा ते॒ प्रति॒ वरं॑ जरि॒त्रे दु॑ही॒यदि॑न्द्र॒ दक्षि॑णा म॒घोनी॑ । शिक्षा॑ स्तो॒तृभ्यो॒ माति॑ ध॒ग्भगो॑ नो बृ॒हद्व॑देम वि॒दथे॑ सु॒वीराः॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जो धनसंपन्न दक्षिणा स्तुतिकर्ता की अभिलाषा पूर्ण करती है, वह हमें प्रदान करो. हे भजनीय इंद्र! हम स्तोताओं को छोड़कर उसे अन्य किसी को मत देना. हम उत्तम पुत्र-पौत्रादि प्राप्त करके इस यज्ञ में तुम्हारी बहुत स्तुति करेंगे. (९)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Give us the rich south that fulfills the desire of the praiseor. O psalmist Indra! We don't give it to anyone else except the psalms. We will praise you a lot in this yajna by getting the best son and grandson. (9)
