ग॒णानां॑ त्वा ग॒णप॑तिं हवामहे क॒विं क॑वी॒नामु॑प॒मश्र॑वस्तमम् । ज्ये॒ष्ठ॒राजं॒ ब्रह्म॑णां ब्रह्मणस्पत॒ आ नः॑ शृ॒ण्वन्नू॒तिभिः॑ सीद॒ साद॑नम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ब्रह्मणस्पति! तुम देव-समूह में गणपति, कवियों में अप्रतिम कवि, प्रशंसनीय लोगों में सर्वोच्च एवं मंत्रों के स्वामी हो. हम तुम्हारा आह्वान करते हैं. तुम हमारी स्तुतियां सुनते हुए यज्ञशाला में बैठो और हमारी रक्षा करो. (१)
EN English Translation
O Brahmaspati! You are Ganapati in the god-group, the unparalleled poet among the poets, the supreme among the admirable people and the masters of mantras. We call upon you. You sit in the yajnashala, listening to our praises and protect us. (1)
दे॒वाश्चि॑त्ते असुर्य॒ प्रचे॑तसो॒ बृह॑स्पते य॒ज्ञियं॑ भा॒गमा॑नशुः । उ॒स्रा इ॑व॒ सूर्यो॒ ज्योति॑षा म॒हो विश्वे॑षा॒मिज्ज॑नि॒ता ब्रह्म॑णामसि ॥ (२)

हे असुरनाशक एवं उत्तम ज्ञानसंपन्न बृहस्पति! तुम्हारा यज्ञसंबंधी भाग देवों ने पाया है. तेज के कारण पूज्य सूर्य जिस प्रकार किरणें उत्पन्न करता है, उसी प्रकार तुम मंत्रों के जन्मदाता हो. (२)
EN English Translation
O jupiter, who is asura- and the best of knowledge! Your sacrificial part has been found by the gods. Just as the revered sun produces rays because of the brightness, you are the giver of mantras. (2)
आ वि॒बाध्या॑ परि॒राप॒स्तमां॑सि च॒ ज्योति॑ष्मन्तं॒ रथ॑मृ॒तस्य॑ तिष्ठसि । बृह॑स्पते भी॒मम॑मित्र॒दम्भ॑नं रक्षो॒हणं॑ गोत्र॒भिदं॑ स्व॒र्विद॑म् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बृहस्पति! तुम चारों ओर के निंदकों और अंधकार को समाप्त करके प्रकाशयुक्त, यज्ञ प्राप्त कराने वाले, भयानक शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाले, राक्षसों के हंता, मेघ को भिन्न करने वाले एवं स्वर्ग प्राप्त कराने वाले रथ में बैठते हो. (३)
EN English Translation
O Jupiter! You sit in a chariot that brings out the blasphemies and darkness around you, with light, of yajna, of destroying terrible enemies, of demons, of separating the cloud, and of attaining heaven. (3)
सु॒नी॒तिभि॑र्नयसि॒ त्राय॑से॒ जनं॒ यस्तुभ्यं॒ दाशा॒न्न तमंहो॑ अश्नवत् । ब्र॒ह्म॒द्विष॒स्तप॑नो मन्यु॒मीर॑सि॒ बृह॑स्पते॒ महि॒ तत्ते॑ महित्व॒नम् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बृहस्पति! जो तुम्हें हव्य अन्न देता है, उसे तुम न्यायपूर्ण मार्ग से ले जाकर पाप से बचाते हो. तुम्हारा यही महत्त्व है कि तुम यज्ञ का विरोध करने वाले को कष्ट देते एवं शत्रुओं की हिंसा करते हो. (४)
EN English Translation
O Jupiter! The one who gives you the good food, you lead him from the just way and save you from sin. It is your importance that you hurt the one who opposes the yajna and do violence to the enemies. (4)
न तमंहो॒ न दु॑रि॒तं कुत॑श्च॒न नारा॑तयस्तितिरु॒र्न द्व॑या॒विनः॑ । विश्वा॒ इद॑स्माद्ध्व॒रसो॒ वि बा॑धसे॒ यं सु॑गो॒पा रक्ष॑सि ब्रह्मणस्पते ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ब्रह्मणस्पति! तुम जिसकी रक्षा करते हो, उसे कोई पाप या दुःख बाधा नहीं पहुंचा सकता. हिंसक एवं ठग भी उसे दुःखी नहीं कर सकते. उसे नष्ट करने वाली सभी सेनाओं को तुम रोकते हो. (५)
EN English Translation
O Brahmaspati! No sin or sorrow can hinder what you protect. Even violent and thugs can't make him sad. You stop all the armies that destroy him. (5)
त्वं नो॑ गो॒पाः प॑थि॒कृद्वि॑चक्ष॒णस्तव॑ व्र॒ताय॑ म॒तिभि॑र्जरामहे । बृह॑स्पते॒ यो नो॑ अ॒भि ह्वरो॑ द॒धे स्वा तं म॑र्मर्तु दु॒च्छुना॒ हर॑स्वती ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बृहस्पति! तुम हमारे रक्षक, सच्चा मार्ग बताने वाले एवं कुशल हो. हम तुम्हारा यज्ञ पूर्ण करने के लिए स्तोत्रों द्वारा तुम्हारी प्रार्थना करते हैं. जो व्यक्ति हमारे प्रति कुटिलता रखता है, उसकी वेगशाली दुर्बुद्धि उसका प्राणनाश करे. (६)
EN English Translation
O Jupiter! You are our protector, our true guide, and master. We pray to you through hymns to complete your yajna. Let the one who has a deviousness towards us, let his swift ill-will kill him. (6)
उ॒त वा॒ यो नो॑ म॒र्चया॒दना॑गसोऽराती॒वा मर्तः॑ सानु॒को वृकः॑ । बृह॑स्पते॒ अप॒ तं व॑र्तया प॒थः सु॒गं नो॑ अ॒स्यै दे॒ववी॑तये कृधि ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बृहस्पति! जो उन्नत एवं धन छीनने वाला व्यक्ति हमारे सामने आकर हम निर्दोषों की हिंसा करता है, उसे उत्तम मार्ग से हटा दो तथा देवयज्ञ के लिए हमारा मार्ग सरल बनाओ. (७)
EN English Translation
O Jupiter! Remove the noble and wealth-taking person who comes before us and commits violence against us innocents, remove him from the good way and make our path easier for the godly god. (7)
त्रा॒तारं॑ त्वा त॒नूनां॑ हवाम॒हेऽव॑स्पर्तरधिव॒क्तार॑मस्म॒युम् । बृह॑स्पते देव॒निदो॒ नि ब॑र्हय॒ मा दु॒रेवा॒ उत्त॑रं सु॒म्नमुन्न॑शन् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बृहस्पति! तुम सबको उपद्रवों से बचाने वाले एवं हमारे पुत्र-पौत्रादि का पालन करने वाले हो. तुम हमारे प्रति पक्षपातपूर्ण वचन बोलकर प्रसन्नता व्यक्त करते हो. हम तुम्हें बुलाते हैं. तुम देवनिंदकों का विनाश करो. दुर्बुद्धि के शत्रु उत्तम सुख प्राप्त करें. (८)
EN English Translation
O Jupiter! You are the ones who save everyone from the disturbances and follow our sons and grandsons. You express your happiness by speaking biased words towards us. We call you. You destroy the deities. May the enemies of the evil sense get the best happiness. (8)
त्वया॑ व॒यं सु॒वृधा॑ ब्रह्मणस्पते स्पा॒र्हा वसु॑ मनु॒ष्या द॑दीमहि । या नो॑ दू॒रे त॒ळितो॒ या अरा॑तयो॒ऽभि सन्ति॑ ज॒म्भया॒ ता अ॑न॒प्नसः॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ब्रह्मणस्पति! तुम्हारे द्वारा वृद्धि प्राप्त करके हम अन्य मनुष्यों से चाहने योग्य धन प्राप्त करें. जो शत्रु हमारे समीप या दूर रहकर हमारा पराभव करते हैं, उन दानहीन व्यक्तियों का नाश करो. (९)
EN English Translation
O Brahmaspati! By gaining growth through you, we may receive the desired wealth from other human beings. Destroy the unspoken people who defeat us by staying near or far away from us. (9)
त्वया॑ व॒यमु॑त्त॒मं धी॑महे॒ वयो॒ बृह॑स्पते॒ पप्रि॑णा॒ सस्नि॑ना यु॒जा । मा नो॑ दुः॒शंसो॑ अभिदि॒प्सुरी॑शत॒ प्र सु॒शंसा॑ म॒तिभि॑स्तारिषीमहि ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे कामपूरक एवं शुद्ध बृहस्पति! तुम्हारी सहायता से हम उत्तम अन्न प्राप्त करेंगे. हमें हराने की इच्छा रखने वाले हमारे स्वामी न बनें. हम उत्तम स्तुतियां करते हुए पुण्य लाभ करें एवं सबसे उत्कृष्ट बनें. (१०)
EN English Translation
O full of work and pure Jupiter! With your help we will get the best food. Don't be our masters who wish to defeat us. Let us make virtuous gains by doing the best praises and be the most excellent. (10)
अ॒ना॒नु॒दो वृ॑ष॒भो जग्मि॑राह॒वं निष्ट॑प्ता॒ शत्रुं॒ पृत॑नासु सास॒हिः । असि॑ स॒त्य ऋ॑ण॒या ब्र॑ह्मणस्पत उ॒ग्रस्य॑ चिद्दमि॒ता वी॑ळुह॒र्षिणः॑ ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ब्रह्मणस्पति! तुम अद्वितीय दाता, मन की इच्छा पूर्ण करने वाले, युद्ध में जाकर शञ्रुओं का विनाश करने वाले एवं युद्धभूमि में शत्रुओं को हराने वाले हो. तुम सच्चे पराक्रमी, ऋण चुकाने वाले तथा मतवाले उग्र लोगों के दमनकर्ता हो. (११)
EN English Translation
O Brahmaspati! You are the unique giver, the one who fulfills the will of the mind, the one who goes to war and destroys the enemies in the battlefield. You are the true mighty, the debt-payers, and the oppressors of the angry people of the opinion. (11)
अदे॑वेन॒ मन॑सा॒ यो रि॑ष॒ण्यति॑ शा॒सामु॒ग्रो मन्य॑मानो॒ जिघां॑सति । बृह॑स्पते॒ मा प्रण॒क्तस्य॑ नो व॒धो नि क॑र्म म॒न्युं दु॒रेव॑स्य॒ शर्ध॑तः ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बृहस्पति! देवों को न मानने वाला जो व्यक्ति मन से हमारी हिंसा करता है एवं असुरों का नाश करने वाले हम लोगों को मारना चाहता है, उसका आयुध हमें छू भी न सके. हम उस शक्तिशाली एवं दुष्ट शत्रु का क्रोध समाप्त कर दें. (१२)
EN English Translation
O Jupiter! The person who does not believe in the gods, who does violence against us with his heart and wants to kill us who destroy the asuras, his weapon cannot even touch us. Let us put an end to the wrath of that powerful and evil enemy. (12)
भरे॑षु॒ हव्यो॒ नम॑सोप॒सद्यो॒ गन्ता॒ वाजे॑षु॒ सनि॑ता॒ धनं॑धनम् । विश्वा॒ इद॒र्यो अ॑भिदि॒प्स्वो॒३॒॑ मृधो॒ बृह॒स्पति॒र्वि व॑वर्हा॒ रथा॑ँ इव ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बृहस्पति युद्धकाल में आह्वान करने एवं नमस्कार सहित पूजा करने योग्य हैं. वे संग्राम में भक्त की सहायता के लिए जाते तथा सब प्रकार का धन देते हैं. जिस प्रकार युद्ध में शत्रुओं के रथों को नष्ट कर दिया जाता है, उसी प्रकार बृहस्पति विजय की इच्छुक शन्रु सेनाओं को न्टभ्रष्ट कर देते हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
Jupiter is worthy of worship in the wartime with a call and salutations. They go to the aid of the devotee in the struggle and give all kinds of money. Just as the chariots of enemies are destroyed in war, jupiter misleads the shanru armies who want victory. (13)
तेजि॑ष्ठया तप॒नी र॒क्षस॑स्तप॒ ये त्वा॑ नि॒दे द॑धि॒रे दृ॒ष्टवी॑र्यम् । आ॒विस्तत्कृ॑ष्व॒ यदस॑त्त उ॒क्थ्यं१॒॑ बृह॑स्पते॒ वि प॑रि॒रापो॑ अर्दय ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बृहस्पति! जिन राक्षसों ने युद्धों में तुम्हारा पराक्रम देखकर भी तुम्हारी निंदा की है, अत्यंत तीव्र एवं संतापकारिणी तलवार द्वारा उन राक्षसों को संतप्त करो, अपने प्राचीन प्रशंसा योग्य बल को प्रकट करो तथा निंदकों का नाश करो. (१४)
EN English Translation
O Jupiter! The demons who have condemned you even after seeing your might in wars, provoke those demons with a very strong and angry sword, reveal your ancient praiseworthy strength and destroy the blasphemers. (14)
बृह॑स्पते॒ अति॒ यद॒र्यो अर्हा॑द्द्यु॒मद्वि॒भाति॒ क्रतु॑म॒ज्जने॑षु । यद्दी॒दय॒च्छव॑स ऋतप्रजात॒ तद॒स्मासु॒ द्रवि॑णं धेहि चि॒त्रम् ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यज्ञ से उत्पन्न बृहस्पति! हमें श्रेष्ठ लोगों द्वारा पूज्य, दीप्त एवं ज्ञान से युक्त, यज्ञकर्तताओं में सुशोभित तेज तथा दीप्तियुक्त विचित्र धन प्रदान करो. (१५)
EN English Translation
O Jupiter born of the yajna! Give us the strange riches of bright and radiant adorned in the sacrificial acts, revered, illuminated and enlightened by the best of people. (15)
मा नः॑ स्ते॒नेभ्यो॒ ये अ॒भि द्रु॒हस्प॒दे नि॑रा॒मिणो॑ रि॒पवोऽन्ने॑षु जागृ॒धुः । आ दे॒वाना॒मोह॑ते॒ वि व्रयो॑ हृ॒दि बृह॑स्पते॒ न प॒रः साम्नो॑ विदुः ॥ (१६)

हे बृहस्पति! हमें चोरों, द्रोह करके प्रसन्न होने वालों, शत्रुओं, पराए धन के इच्छुकों एवं देवस्तुति एवं यज्ञ विरोधियों के हाथ में मत सौंपना. (१६)
EN English Translation
O Jupiter! Don't hand us over to thieves, those who are pleased with the abuse, the enemies, the seekers of foreign wealth, and the deities and the sacrificial opponents. (16)
विश्वे॑भ्यो॒ हि त्वा॒ भुव॑नेभ्य॒स्परि॒ त्वष्टाज॑न॒त्साम्नः॑साम्नः क॒विः । स ऋ॑ण॒चिदृ॑ण॒या ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पति॑र्द्रु॒हो ह॒न्ता म॒ह ऋ॒तस्य॑ ध॒र्तरि॑ ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बृहस्पति! त्वष्टा ने तुम्हें समस्त संसार से उत्तम बनाया है. तुम समस्त साममंत्रों के ज्ञाता हो. बृहस्पति यज्ञ आरंभ करने वाले यजमान का समस्त ऋण स्वीकार करके उसे उतारते हैं. वै यज्ञ के विद्रोही को नष्ट कर देते हैं. (१७)
EN English Translation
O Jupiter! The skin has made you better than the whole world. You are the knower of all the sammantras. Jupiter accepts all the debts of the host who initiates the yajna and removes it. Vais destroy the rebel of the yajna. (17)
तव॑ श्रि॒ये व्य॑जिहीत॒ पर्व॑तो॒ गवां॑ गो॒त्रमु॒दसृ॑जो॒ यद॑ङ्गिरः । इन्द्रे॑ण यु॒जा तम॑सा॒ परी॑वृतं॒ बृह॑स्पते॒ निर॒पामौ॑ब्जो अर्ण॒वम् ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अंगिरावंशोत्पन्न बृहस्पति! गायों को छिपाने वाला पर्वत तुम्हारे कल्याण के लिए खुल गया और गाएं बाहर आ गई. उस समय तुमने इंद्र की सहायता से वृत्र द्वारा रोकी गई जलधारा को नीचे की ओर बहाया था. (१८)
EN English Translation
O Angiravansh-born Jupiter! The mountain hiding the cows opened up for your welfare and the cows came out. At that time, with the help of Indra, you had flowed the stream stopped by the vritra downwards. (18)
ब्रह्म॑णस्पते॒ त्वम॒स्य य॒न्ता सू॒क्तस्य॑ बोधि॒ तन॑यं च जिन्व । विश्वं॒ तद्भ॒द्रं यदव॑न्ति दे॒वा बृ॒हद्व॑देम वि॒दथे॑ सु॒वीराः॑ ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे संसार के नियामक ब्रह्मणस्पति! इस सूक्त को जानो एवं हमारी संतान की रक्षा करो. देवगण जिसकी रक्षा करते हैं, वह सभी कल्याण प्राप्त करता है. हम शोभन पुत्र एवं पौत्र प्राप्त करके इस यज्ञ में बहुत सी स्तुतियां बोलेंगे. (१९)
EN English Translation
O Brahmaspati, the regulator of the world! Know this sukta and protect our children. The one whom the gods protect receives all the welfare. We will receive shobhan sons and grandsons and speak many praises in this yajna. (19)
