समि॑द्धो अ॒ग्निर्निहि॑तः पृथि॒व्यां प्र॒त्यङ्विश्वा॑नि॒ भुव॑नान्यस्थात् । होता॑ पाव॒कः प्र॒दिवः॑ सुमे॒धा दे॒वो दे॒वान्य॑जत्व॒ग्निरर्ह॑न् ॥ (१)

वेदी पर रखे हुए प्रज्वलित अग्नि समस्त प्राणियों के सामने स्थित हैं. होम निष्पादक, शुद्धिकर्ता, पुराने, शोभन बुद्धि वाले, प्रकाशमान एवं यज्ञ के योग्य अग्नि देवों का आदर करें. (१)
EN English Translation
The ignited agni placed on the altar is located in front of all beings. Honor the home executors, purifiers, old, well-meaning, bright and worthy agni gods of yajna. (1)
नरा॒शंसः॒ प्रति॒ धामा॑न्य॒ञ्जन्ति॒स्रो दिवः॒ प्रति॑ म॒ह्ना स्व॒र्चिः । घृ॒त॒प्रुषा॒ मन॑सा ह॒व्यमु॒न्दन्मू॒र्धन्य॒ज्ञस्य॒ सम॑नक्तु दे॒वान् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मनुष्यों द्वारा स्तुति के योग्य एवं सुंदर ज्वालाओं वाले अग्नि अपनी महिमा से प्रत्येक यज्ञस्थल एवं तीनों प्रकाशित लोकों को प्रकट करते हैं. वे घी बरसाने की अभिलाषा से हव्य को चिकना करते हुए यज्ञ के उच्च भाग में देवों को तृप्त करें. (२)
EN English Translation
The agnis, worthy of praise by humans and with beautiful flames, reveal each of the sacrificial sites and the three published realms with their glory. They satisfy the gods in the higher part of the yagna by smoothening the havya with the desire to shower ghee. (2)
ई॒ळि॒तो अ॑ग्ने॒ मन॑सा नो॒ अर्ह॑न्दे॒वान्य॑क्षि॒ मानु॑षा॒त्पूर्वो॑ अ॒द्य । स आ व॑ह म॒रुतां॒ शर्धो॒ अच्यु॑त॒मिन्द्रं॑ नरो बर्हि॒षदं॑ यजध्वम् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे हमारे द्वारा स्तुत अग्नि! हम पर प्रसन्न होकर यज्ञ के योग्य बनो एवं आज मनुष्यों से पहले ही देवों के निमित्त यज्ञ करो. हे ऋत्विजो! मरुतों की शक्ति से युक्त अच्युत इंद्र को बुलाओ एवं कुश पर स्थित इंद्र को लक्ष्य करके हवन करो. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni praised by us! Be happy with us and be worthy of the yajna and perform yajna for the gods before men today. Hey Ritvijo! Call Achyuta Indra, who has the power of the Maruts, and perform the havan by aiming at Indra on Kush. (3)
देव॑ बर्हि॒र्वर्ध॑मानं सु॒वीरं॑ स्ती॒र्णं रा॒ये सु॒भरं॒ वेद्य॒स्याम् । घृ॒तेना॒क्तं व॑सवः सीदते॒दं विश्वे॑ देवा आदित्या य॒ज्ञिया॑सः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे कुशरूप, तेजस्वी, नित्य बढ़ने वाले एवं वीर पुत्रदाता अग्नि! हमें धन देने के लिए वेदी पर फैल जाओ! हे वसुओ, विश्वेदेव एवं यज्ञ के योग्य आदित्यो! तुम घी से गीले किए गए कुश पर बैठो. (४)
EN English Translation
O evil, brilliant, ever-growing and heroic son-giving agni! Spread out on the altar to give us money! O Vasuo, Vishvadev and Adityas worthy of the yajna! You sit on the cushions wet with ghee. (4)
वि श्र॑यन्तामुर्वि॒या हू॒यमा॑ना॒ द्वारो॑ दे॒वीः सु॑प्राय॒णा नमो॑भिः । व्यच॑स्वती॒र्वि प्र॑थन्तामजु॒र्या वर्णं॑ पुना॒ना य॒शसं॑ सु॒वीर॑म् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रकाशित-द्वार रूप, विस्तृत मनुष्यों द्वारा नमस्कारयुक्त स्तुतियों से हवन किए जाते हुए तथा लोगों द्वारा सरलता से प्राप्त करने योग्य अग्नि! तुम खुल जाओ. तुम व्यापक, अविनाशी तथा यजमान के लिए शोभन पुत्र वाला रूप धारण करते हुए विशेष रूप से प्रसिद्ध बनो. (५)
EN English Translation
O revelation-door form, a agni that is performed by a wide variety of men with salutations and a agni easily attainable by the people! You open up. You become especially famous, taking the form of a son of broad, indestructible and adorned with a son of hosthood. (5)
सा॒ध्वपां॑सि स॒नता॑ न उक्षि॒ते उ॒षासा॒नक्ता॑ व॒य्ये॑व रण्वि॒ते । तन्तुं॑ त॒तं सं॒वय॑न्ती समी॒ची य॒ज्ञस्य॒ पेशः॑ सु॒दुघे॒ पय॑स्वती ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हमें उत्तम फल देने वाली दिन एवं रात रूप अग्नि ऐसी दो कुशल नारियों के समान हैं जो कपड़ा बुनने में कुशल हैं. बुनने वाली नारियां जिस प्रकार खड़े होकर धागों को बुनती हैं, उसी प्रकार रात व दिन यज्ञ को पूरा करते हैं. वे जल से युक्त एवं फलदाता हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
The day and night form agni that gives us the best fruits is like two such skilled women who are skilled in weaving cloth. Just as the knit women stand up and weave the threads, so the night and the day complete the yajna. They are water-rich and fruit-givers. (6)
दैव्या॒ होता॑रा प्रथ॒मा वि॒दुष्ट॑र ऋ॒जु य॑क्षतः॒ समृ॒चा व॒पुष्ट॑रा । दे॒वान्यज॑न्तावृतु॒था सम॑ञ्जतो॒ नाभा॑ पृथि॒व्या अधि॒ सानु॑षु त्रि॒षु ॥ (७)

सबसे अधिक विद्वान्, विशाल शरीर वाले अग्नि रूपी दो सुंदर होता पहले से ही यज्ञ के योग्य होकर मंत्र द्वारा देवों की पूजा एवं यज्ञ करते हैं. वे पृथ्वी की नाभि के समान वेदी के मध्य भाग में ऋतु के अनुसार गार्हपत्य आदि अग्नियों में मिल जाते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
Most learned scholars, having huge bodies in the form of fire, are already worthy of yajna, worship the gods and perform yagya through mantras. Like the navel of the earth, in the central part of the altar, according to the season, they mingle in the agni like Garhapatya etc. (7)
सर॑स्वती सा॒धय॑न्ती॒ धियं॑ न॒ इळा॑ दे॒वी भार॑ती वि॒श्वतू॑र्तिः । ति॒स्रो दे॒वीः स्व॒धया॑ ब॒र्हिरेदमच्छि॑द्रं पान्तु शर॒णं नि॒षद्य॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हमारे यज्ञ को पूर्ण करने वाली सरस्वती, इला और सर्वत्र व्यापक भारतीये तीनों देवियां यज्ञशाला में निवास करें एवं हव्य पाने के लिए हमारे यज्ञ का निर्दोष रूप से पालन करें. (८)
EN English Translation
Saraswati, Ila and the three indian goddesses who complete our yajna should reside in the yajnashala and follow our yajna innocently to get the havya. (8)
पि॒शङ्ग॑रूपः सु॒भरो॑ वयो॒धाः श्रु॒ष्टी वी॒रो जा॑यते दे॒वका॑मः । प्र॒जां त्वष्टा॒ वि ष्य॑तु॒ नाभि॑म॒स्मे अथा॑ दे॒वाना॒मप्ये॑तु॒ पाथः॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
त्वष्टा की कृपा से हमारे घर में स्वर्ण के समान उज्ज्वल रंग वाला, शोभन यज्ञकर्ता, अन्नदाता, उन्नत गुणों वाला, वीर तथा देवों को चाहने वाला पुत्र जन्म ले. वह हमें कुल की रक्षा करने वाली संतान दे एवं हमारा अन्न देवों के पास जाए. (९)
EN English Translation
By the grace of Tatvasha, let a son, bright as gold, adornment, a yajnakarta, an annadata, a man of advanced qualities, a hero and a son who loves gods, be born in our house. He will give us a child to protect the family and let our food go to the gods. (9)
वन॒स्पति॑रवसृ॒जन्नुप॑ स्थाद॒ग्निर्ह॒विः सू॑दयाति॒ प्र धी॒भिः । त्रिधा॒ सम॑क्तं नयतु प्रजा॒नन्दे॒वेभ्यो॒ दैव्यः॑ शमि॒तोप॑ ह॒व्यम् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हमारे कर्मो को जानने वाले वनस्पति रूप अग्नि समीप उपस्थित हैं. वे विशेष प्रकार के कर्मो से हव्य को ठीक से पकाते हैं. शमिता नामक दिव्य अग्नि हव्य को तीन प्रकार से भली- भांति शुद्ध जानकर देवों के समीप ले जावें. (१०)
EN English Translation
The botanical forms that know our deeds are present near the agni. They cook the havya properly with special types of karmas. Let the divine agni called Shamita be taken close to the gods knowing that the divine agni is well purified in three ways. (10)
घृ॒तं मि॑मिक्षे घृ॒तम॑स्य॒ योनि॑र्घृ॒ते श्रि॒तो घृ॒तम्व॑स्य॒ धाम॑ । अ॒नु॒ष्व॒धमा व॑ह मा॒दय॑स्व॒ स्वाहा॑कृतं वृषभ वक्षि ह॒व्यम् ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं अग्नि की जन्मभूमि, वासस्थल एवं आश्रयदाता काष्ठ को अग्नि में डालता हूं. हे कामवर्षी अग्नि! हव्य देने के समय देवों को बुलाकर प्रसन्न करो तथा स्वाहा के रूप में डाला गया हव्य धारण करो. (११)
EN English Translation
I put the birthplace of agni, the habitat and the shelter wood into the agni. O workable agni! Please call the gods at the time of giving the havya and wear the havya inserted as swaha. (11)
