प्र॒द॒क्षि॒णिद॒भि गृ॑णन्ति का॒रवो॒ वयो॒ वद॑न्त ऋतु॒था श॒कुन्त॑यः । उ॒भे वाचौ॑ वदति साम॒गा इ॑व गाय॒त्रं च॒ त्रैष्टु॑भं॒ चानु॑ राजति ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
कपिंजल पक्षी समय-समय पर अन्न की सूचना देते हुए स्तोता के समान प्रदक्षिणा करते हुए शब्द करें. सामगायन करने वाला जिस प्रकार गायत्री एवं त्रिष्टुप् दोनों छंदों को बोलता है, उसी प्रकार कपिंजल पक्षी भी दोनों प्रकार के वाक्य बोलकर सुनने वालों को प्रसन्न करता है. (१)
EN English Translation
The cupinjal bird periodically utters words while making a circle similar to the stota, reporting food. Just as the samagana reciter speaks both Gayatri and Trishtupa verses, the kapinjal bird also pleases the listeners by speaking both kinds of sentences. (1)
उ॒द्गा॒तेव॑ शकुने॒ साम॑ गायसि ब्रह्मपु॒त्र इ॑व॒ सव॑नेषु शंससि । वृषे॑व वा॒जी शिशु॑मतीर॒पीत्या॑ स॒र्वतो॑ नः शकुने भ॒द्रमा व॑द वि॒श्वतो॑ नः शकुने॒ पुण्य॒मा व॑द ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पक्षी! तुम सामगान करने वाले उद्गाता की तरह गाओ एवं यज्ञ में ब्रह्मपुत्र ऋत्विक् के समान शब्द करो. गर्भाधान करने में समर्थ घोड़ा घोड़ी के पास जाकर जिस प्रकार हिनहिनाता है, तुम भी उसी प्रकार का शब्द करो. तुम हमारे लिए सभी जगह कल्याणकारी एवं पुण्यकारी शब्द बोलो. (२)
EN English Translation
O bird! Sing like a hymn that sings and say words like the Brahmaputra ritwik in the yajna. The horse capable of conception goes to the mare and says the same kind of word as it is. You speak good and virtuous words for us everywhere. (2)
आ॒वद॒ँस्त्वं श॑कुने भ॒द्रमा व॑द तू॒ष्णीमासी॑नः सुम॒तिं चि॑किद्धि नः । यदु॒त्पत॒न्वद॑सि कर्क॒रिर्य॑था बृ॒हद्व॑देम वि॒दथे॑ सु॒वीराः॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे कपिंजल पक्षी! तुम शब्द करते समय हमारे लिए कल्याण की सूचना दो एवं मौन रहते समय हमारे प्रति सुमति की इच्छा करो. तुम उड़ते समय कर्करी बाजे के समान शब्द करते हो. हम शोभन पुत्र-पौत्र प्राप्त करके इस यज्ञ में बहुत सी स्तुतियां बोलेंगे. (३)
EN English Translation
O cupinjal bird! When you say words, inform us of welfare and wish for our consent while remaining silent. You say the same words as the curvy baje while flying. We will receive shobhan son-grandson and speak many praises in this yajna. (3)
