का सु॑ष्टु॒तिः शव॑सः सू॒नुमिन्द्र॑मर्वाची॒नं राध॑स॒ आ व॑वर्तत् । द॒दिर्हि वी॒रो गृ॑ण॒ते वसू॑नि॒ स गोप॑तिर्नि॒ष्षिधां॑ नो जनासः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
किस प्रकार की शोभन स्तुति परम बलशाली एवं हमारे सामने वर्तमान इंद्र को हमें धन देने के लिए प्रेरित कर सकती है? हे यजमानो! वीर एवं पशु आदि धन के स्वामी इंद्र हम स्तुतिकर्त्ताओं को हमारे शत्रुओं की संपत्ति दें. (१)
EN English Translation
What kind of shobhan praise can inspire the most powerful and present-day Indra in front of us to give us wealth? O hosts! Indra, the lord of wealth such as heroes and animals, etc., we give the praises the property of our enemies. (1)
यो मर्त्ये॑ष्व॒मृत॑ ऋ॒तावा॑ दे॒वो दे॒वेष्व॑र॒तिर्नि॒धायि॑ । होता॒ यजि॑ष्ठो म॒ह्ना शु॒चध्यै॑ ह॒व्यैर॒ग्निर्मनु॑ष ईर॒यध्यै॑ ॥ (१)

जो मरणरहित एवं दिव्य अग्नि मनुष्यों में सत्ययुक्त, इंद्रादि देवों के शत्रुओं को हराने वाले, देवों को बुलाने वाले एवं सबसे अधिक यज्ञकर्ता हैं, वे अपने महान् तेज से दीप्त होने एवं यजमानों को स्वर्ग भेजने के लिए उत्तर वेदी पर स्थापित किए गए हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
Those who are the deadless and divine agnis of men, who are truthful among the human beings, who defeat the enemies of the Indradi devas, those who call the gods and the most sacrificators, have been installed at the north altar to be illuminated by their great glory and to send the hosts to heaven. (1)
प्रति॒ ष्या सू॒नरी॒ जनी॑ व्यु॒च्छन्ती॒ परि॒ स्वसुः॑ । दि॒वो अ॑दर्शि दुहि॒ता ॥ (१)

भली प्रकार स्तुत, प्राणियों की कुशल नेत्री एवं उत्तम फलों को जन्म देने वाली सूर्यपुत्र उषा दिखाई देती है एवं रात बीतने पर अंधेरे का नाश करती है. (१)
EN English Translation
Usha, the sun-son who is well-versed, the skilled leader of beings and the one who gives birth to the best fruits, is seen and destroys the darkness as the night passes. (1)
तद्दे॒वस्य॑ सवि॒तुर्वार्यं॑ म॒हद्वृ॑णी॒महे॒ असु॑रस्य॒ प्रचे॑तसः । छ॒र्दिर्येन॑ दा॒शुषे॒ यच्छ॑ति॒ त्मना॒ तन्नो॑ म॒हाँ उद॑यान्दे॒वो अ॒क्तुभिः॑ ॥ (१)

हम बलशाली एवं उत्तम बुद्धि वाले सविता देव के उस वरणीय एवं पूज्य धन की प्रार्थना करते हैं, जिस धन को वे हव्य देने वाले यजमान को अपने आप देते हैं. महान् सविता वह धन हमें प्रदान करें. (१)
EN English Translation
We pray for the golden and revered wealth of the mighty and well-intentioned Savita Dev, the wealth that he himself gives to the host who gives the havan. The great Savita gives us that wealth. (1)
को अ॒द्य नर्यो॑ दे॒वका॑म उ॒शन्निन्द्र॑स्य स॒ख्यं जु॑जोष । को वा॑ म॒हेऽव॑से॒ पार्या॑य॒ समि॑द्धे अ॒ग्नौ सु॒तसो॑म ईट्टे ॥ (१)

आज कौन मानवहितैषी, देवाभिलाषी एवं कामनापूर्ण मनुष्य इंद्र के साथ मित्रता करना चाहता है? सोमरस निचोड़ने वाला कौन सा यजमान अन्नि प्रज्वलित होने पर महान् तथा पार पहुंचाने वाले आश्रय के लिए इंद्र की स्तुति करता है? (१)

Today, who wants to befriend indra, a man of all-time, godly and desire? Which of the hosts who squeeze the Somras praises Indra for the shelter that is great and transcendent when the queen is ignited? (1)
अभू॑द्दे॒वः स॑वि॒ता वन्द्यो॒ नु न॑ इ॒दानी॒मह्न॑ उप॒वाच्यो॒ नृभिः॑ । वि यो रत्ना॒ भज॑ति मान॒वेभ्यः॒ श्रेष्ठं॑ नो॒ अत्र॒ द्रवि॑णं॒ यथा॒ दध॑त् ॥ (१)

उदित हुए सविता देव की हम शीघ्र ही वंदना करेंगे. मनुष्य इस समय अर्थात् प्रातः एवं तृतीय सवन में होतागण सूर्य की स्तुति करें. जो सविता मानवों को रक्त प्रदान करते हैं, वे हमें इस यज्ञ में उत्तम धन दें. (१)
EN English Translation
We will soon worship savita dev who has risen. Let man praise the sun at this time i.e. in the morning and in the third suture. The Savitas who provide blood to human beings, give us the best wealth in this yagna. (1)
अ॒हं मनु॑रभवं॒ सूर्य॑श्चा॒हं क॒क्षीवा॒ँ ऋषि॑रस्मि॒ विप्रः॑ । अ॒हं कुत्स॑मार्जुने॒यं न्यृ॑ञ्जे॒ऽहं क॒विरु॒शना॒ पश्य॑ता मा ॥ (१)

मैं ही मनु था. मैं ही सविता हूं. मेधावी कक्षीवान् ऋषि भी मैं ही हूं. मैंने अर्जुनी के पुत्र कुत्स को अलंकृत किया था. मैं ही उशना कवि हूं. हे मनुष्यो! मुझे देखो. (१)
EN English Translation
I was the only Manu. I am Savita. The meritorious Kandhivan Rishi is also me. I had embellished Arjuni's son Kutsa. I am the same as the ushana poet. O men! Look at me. (1)
आ वो॒ राजा॑नमध्व॒रस्य॑ रु॒द्रं होता॑रं सत्य॒यजं॒ रोद॑स्योः । अ॒ग्निं पु॒रा त॑नयि॒त्नोर॒चित्ता॒द्धिर॑ण्यरूप॒मव॑से कृणुध्वम् ॥ (१)

हे यजमानो! वज्र के समान ध्रुवमृत्यु से पहले ही यज्ञ के स्वामी, देवों को बुलाने वाले, शत्रुओं को रुलाने वाले, धरती-आकाश को अन्न देने वाले एवं सुनहरी प्रभा से युक्त अग्नि की अपनी रक्षा के निमित्त हवि से सेवा करो. (१)

O hosts! Before the death of the pole like the vajra, serve the lord of the yajna, the one who calls the gods, the one who crys the enemies, the one who feeds the earth and the sky, and the agni with a golden prabha, to protect yourself. (1)
को व॑स्त्रा॒ता व॑सवः॒ को व॑रू॒ता द्यावा॑भूमी अदिते॒ त्रासी॑थां नः । सही॑यसो वरुण मित्र॒ मर्ता॒त्को वो॑ऽध्व॒रे वरि॑वो धाति देवाः ॥ (१)

हे वसुओ! तुम में रक्षा करने वाला कौन है एवं कौन दुःख दूर करने वाला है? हे अखंडनीय धरती आकाश! तुम हमारी रक्षा करो. हे इंद्र एवं ब्रह्मा! तुम पराभवकारी लोगों से हमें बचाओ. हे देवो! तुम में से कौन धन का दान करता है? (१)
EN English Translation
O Vasuo! Who among you is the protector and who will remove the suffering? O indivisible earth, the sky! You protect us. O Indra and Brahma! Save us from you losers. Oh, God! Who among you donates money? (1)
गर्भे॒ नु सन्नन्वे॑षामवेदम॒हं दे॒वानां॒ जनि॑मानि॒ विश्वा॑ । श॒तं मा॒ पुर॒ आय॑सीररक्ष॒न्नध॑ श्ये॒नो ज॒वसा॒ निर॑दीयम् ॥ (१)

मैंने गर्भ में रहते हुए ही इंद्रादि देवों के सभी जन्मों को जाना था. इससे पहले सैकड़ों लौह शरीरों ने हमारी रक्षा की थी एवं हमें श्येन पक्षी के समान आत्मा के रूप में शरीर से निकाला था. (१)
EN English Translation
I had known all the births of the Indradi Devas while I was in the womb. Earlier, hundreds of iron bodies had protected us and exhumed us from the body as a soul like a lion bird. (1)
त्वा यु॒जा तव॒ तत्सो॑म स॒ख्य इन्द्रो॑ अ॒पो मन॑वे स॒स्रुत॑स्कः । अह॒न्नहि॒मरि॑णात्स॒प्त सिन्धू॒नपा॑वृणो॒दपि॑हितेव॒ खानि॑ ॥ (१)

हे सोम! इंद्र ने तुम्हारी मित्रता पाकर उसकी सहायता से मनुष्यों के लिए जल को प्रवाहित किया. उसने वृत्र को मारा, बहने वाले जल को प्रेरणा दी एवं जलधारा को रोकने वाले द्वार खोले. (१)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! Indra found your friendship and with his help, he flowed water to human beings. He hit the vritra, inspired the flowing water and opened the gates that blocked the stream. (1)
म॒ही द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी इ॒ह ज्येष्ठे॑ रु॒चा भ॑वतां शु॒चय॑द्भिर॒र्कैः । यत्सीं॒ वरि॑ष्ठे बृह॒ती वि॑मि॒न्वन्रु॒वद्धो॒क्षा प॑प्रथा॒नेभि॒रेवैः॑ ॥ (१)

हे महान् एवं विशाल द्यावा-पृथ्वी! इस यज्ञ में दीप्तियुक्त मंत्रों से तेजस्वी बनो, क्योंकि जल बरसाने वाले बादल विस्तृत एवं महान् धरती-आकाश को स्थापित करते हैं तथा गमनशील व प्रसिद्ध मरुतों के साथ सभी जगह गरजते हैं. (१)

O great and vast earth! Be bright with the radiant mantras in this yajna, because the clouds that rain water establish the vast and great earth-sky and roar all over the place with the moving and famous maruts. (1)
आ नः॑ स्तु॒त उप॒ वाजे॑भिरू॒ती इन्द्र॑ या॒हि हरि॑भिर्मन्दसा॒नः । ति॒रश्चि॑द॒र्यः सव॑ना पु॒रूण्या॑ङ्गू॒षेभि॑र्गृणा॒नः स॒त्यरा॑धाः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रसन्न, स्वामी, स्तुतियों द्वारा पूजित एवं सत्य-धन वाले इंद्र! तुम हमारी स्तुतियां सुनकर हमारी रक्षा के निमित्त अपने अश्वों की सहायता से हमारे अन्नपूर्ण यज्ञों में आओ. (१)
EN English Translation
O lord, Indra, worshipped by praises and blessed with truth! You hear our praises and come to our annapurna yagnas with the help of your horses for the sake of protecting us. (1)
कृ॒णु॒ष्व पाजः॒ प्रसि॑तिं॒ न पृ॒थ्वीं या॒हि राजे॒वाम॑वा॒ँ इभे॑न । तृ॒ष्वीमनु॒ प्रसि॑तिं द्रूणा॒नोऽस्ता॑सि॒ विध्य॑ र॒क्षस॒स्तपि॑ष्ठैः ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! बहेलिया जिस प्रकार जाल फैलाता है, उसी प्रकार तुम अपने भयनाशक तेजसमूह को फैलाओ. राजा जिस प्रकार अपने मंत्री के साथ चलता है, उसी प्रकार तुम भी अपने तेजों के साथ आगे बढ़ो. तेज चलने वाली शत्रुसेना के पीछे चलते हुए तुम उसका नाश करो एवं अपने अत्यंत तप्त तेजों से राक्षसों का हनन करो. (१)

O agni! Just as Behelia spreads the net, so do you spread your fear-mongering bright group. Just as the king walks with his minister, so do you also move forward with your speeds. Walking after the fast-moving enemy army, destroy it and abuse the demons with your most hot radiances. (1)
क्षेत्र॑स्य॒ पति॑ना व॒यं हि॒तेने॑व जयामसि । गामश्वं॑ पोषयि॒त्न्वा स नो॑ मृळाती॒दृशे॑ ॥ (१)

हम बंधु तुल्य क्षेत्रपति की सहायता से क्षेत्र को विजय करेंगे. वे हमारी गायों एवं घोड़ों को पुष्टि प्रदान करते हुए हमें इसी प्रकार सुखी करें. (१)

We will conquer the area with the help of the brother-in-law. They make us happy in the same way by providing confirmation to our cows and horses. (1)
नकि॑रिन्द्र॒ त्वदुत्त॑रो॒ न ज्याया॑ँ अस्ति वृत्रहन् । नकि॑रे॒वा यथा॒ त्वम् ॥ (१)

हे वृत्रहंता इंद्र! संसार में कोई भी तुम्हारी अपेक्षा उत्तम एवं प्रशंसनीय नहीं है. हे इंद्र! तुम्हारे समान कोई प्रसिद्ध नहीं है. (१)

O Vrithrahanta Indra! No one in the world is better and more praiseworthy than you. O Indra! There is no one as famous as you. (1)
स॒मु॒द्रादू॒र्मिर्मधु॑मा॒ँ उदा॑र॒दुपां॒शुना॒ सम॑मृत॒त्वमा॑नट् । घृ॒तस्य॒ नाम॒ गुह्यं॒ यदस्ति॑ जि॒ह्वा दे॒वाना॑म॒मृत॑स्य॒ नाभिः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
गायों के थन से दूध की मधु भरी धाराएं निकलती हैं. मनुष्य उनके कारण मरणरहित बनते हैं. घृत का नाम रक्षणीय इसीलिए है कि वह देवों की जीभ एवं अमृत का केंद्र है. (१)
EN English Translation
Honey-filled streams of milk come out of the cows' trunks. Human beings become deathless because of them. The name of the ghrit is protectable because it is the tongue of the gods and the center of the nectar. (1)
वै॒श्वा॒न॒राय॑ मी॒ळ्हुषे॑ स॒जोषाः॑ क॒था दा॑शेमा॒ग्नये॑ बृ॒हद्भाः । अनू॑नेन बृह॒ता व॒क्षथे॒नोप॑ स्तभायदुप॒मिन्न रोधः॑ ॥ (१)

परस्पर समान प्रेम रखने वाले हम ऋत्विज् और यजमान कामवर्षी एवं भासमान महान् वैश्वानर अग्नि को किस प्रकार हव्य दें? थूना जिस प्रकार छप्पर को धारण करता है, उसी प्रकार अग्नि अपने विशाल एवं संपूर्ण शरीर से स्वर्ग को धारण करते हैं. (१)

How can we, who have equal love for each other, give a tribute to the great Vaishnavar Agni, the great, and the host, the kamvarshi and the host kamvarshi? Just as the snout holds the roof, so agni holds heaven with its vast and entire body. (1)
कया॑ नश्चि॒त्र आ भु॑वदू॒ती स॒दावृ॑धः॒ सखा॑ । कया॒ शचि॑ष्ठया वृ॒ता ॥ (१)

सदा बढ़ते हुए, पूजनीय एवं मित्ररूप इंद्र किस तर्पण के कारण हमारे सामने आएंगे? वे किस विचारपूर्ण कर्म के कारण हमारे अभिमुख होंगे? (१)

For what reason will Indra, as ever-growing, revered and friendly, come before us? Because of what thoughtful deeds will they be facing us? (1)
ऊ॒र्ध्व ऊ॒ षु णो॑ अध्वरस्य होत॒रग्ने॒ तिष्ठ॑ दे॒वता॑ता॒ यजी॑यान् । त्वं हि विश्व॑म॒भ्यसि॒ मन्म॒ प्र वे॒धस॑श्चित्तिरसि मनी॒षाम् ॥ (१)

आफ्नवान् एवं अन्य भृगुवंशी ऋषियों ने वनों में दावाग्निरूप से दर्शनीय एवं समस्त प्रजाओं के स्वामी अग्नि को प्रज्वलित किया था. वे ही देवों को बुलाने वाले, अतिशय यज्ञकर्ता, यज्ञों में ऋत्विजों द्वारा स्तुत्य एवं देवों में सर्वश्रेष्ठ अग्नि यज्ञकर्तताओं द्वारा स्थापित किए गए हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
Afnavan and other Bhriguvanshi sages had ignited the agni, the lord of all the people, to be spectacular in the forests. They are the ones who call the gods, the very sacrificial ones, the ones who are set up by the sages in the yagnas, the ones who are praiseworthy and the best of the agni yajnakartas among the devas. (1)
अ॒यमि॒ह प्र॑थ॒मो धा॑यि धा॒तृभि॒र्होता॒ यजि॑ष्ठो अध्व॒रेष्वीड्यः॑ । यमप्न॑वानो॒ भृग॑वो विरुरु॒चुर्वने॑षु चि॒त्रं वि॒भ्वं॑ वि॒शेवि॑शे ॥ (१)

आफ्नवान् एवं अन्य भृगुवंशी ऋषियों ने वनों में दावाग्निरूप से दर्शनीय एवं समस्त प्रजाओं के स्वामी अग्नि को प्रज्वलित किया था. वे ही देवों को बुलाने वाले, अतिशय यज्ञकर्ता, यज्ञों में ऋत्विजों द्वारा स्तुत्य एवं देवों में सर्वश्रेष्ठ अग्नि यज्ञकर्तताओं द्वारा स्थापित किए गए हैं. (१)

Afnavan and other Bhriguvanshi sages had lit the agni in the forests and the lord of all the subjects. They are the ones who call the gods, the most sacrificial performers, the praises by the ritvijas in the yagyas and the best agni yajnas among the devas. (1)
आ तू न॑ इन्द्र वृत्रहन्न॒स्माक॑म॒र्धमा ग॑हि । म॒हान्म॒हीभि॑रू॒तिभिः॑ ॥ (१)

हे शत्रुहंता एवं महान् इंद्र! तुम अपने महान् रक्षासाधनों को लेकर शीघ्र ही हम लोगों के समीप आओ. (१)

O enemy and great Indra! Come to us soon with your great defense. (1)
दू॒तं वो॑ वि॒श्ववे॑दसं हव्य॒वाह॒मम॑र्त्यम् । यजि॑ष्ठमृञ्जसे गि॒रा ॥ (१)

हम स्तुति द्वारा समस्त धनों के स्वामी, देवों को हवि पहुंचाने वाले, मरणरहित, अतिशय यज्ञपात्र एवं देवदूत अग्नि को बढ़ाते हैं. (१)

We increase the agni of the lord of all wealth by praise, the one who delivers to the gods, the deathless, the very sacrificial, and the angel agni. (1)
अग्ने॑ मृ॒ळ म॒हाँ अ॑सि॒ य ई॒मा दे॑व॒युं जन॑म् । इ॒येथ॑ ब॒र्हिरा॒सद॑म् ॥ (१)

हे महान् अग्नि! हम लोगों को सुखी करो एवं देवों की अभिलाषा करने वाले यजमान के पास कुश पर बैठने के लिए आओ. (१)

O great agni! Please us and come to sit on kush near the host who wishes for the gods. (1)
प्र ऋ॒भुभ्यो॑ दू॒तमि॑व॒ वाच॑मिष्य उप॒स्तिरे॒ श्वैत॑रीं धे॒नुमी॑ळे । ये वात॑जूतास्त॒रणि॑भि॒रेवैः॒ परि॒ द्यां स॒द्यो अ॒पसो॑ बभू॒वुः ॥ (१)

हम ऋभुओं के समीप अपनी स्तुतियों को दूत के समान भेजते हैं. हम सोमरस तैयार करने के लिए ऋभुओं से दुधारू गाय मांगते हैं. ऋभुगण वायु के समान तीव्र गतिशील तथा संसार के उपकारक कर्म करने वाले हैं एवं वेगशाली घोड़ों की सहायता से तुरंत आकाश को सभी ओर से घेर लेते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
We send our praises to the sages as messengers. We ask the sages for milch cows to prepare somras. The Sages are as fast as the wind and do the doers of the world's doers and immediately surround the sky from all sides with the help of fast horses. (1)
अग्ने॒ तम॒द्याश्वं॒ न स्तोमैः॒ क्रतुं॒ न भ॒द्रं हृ॑दि॒स्पृश॑म् । ऋ॒ध्यामा॑ त॒ ओहैः॑ ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! हम ऋत्विज् इंद्र आदि देवों को प्राप्त करने वाली स्तुतियों द्वारा अश्व के समान ढोने वाले, यज्ञकर्ता के समान उपकारक, भद्र एवं प्रिय तुमको बढ़ाते हैं. (१)

O agni! We raise you as a horse-like, a benefactor like a yajna-doer, a gentleman and a beloved one by the praises that receive the gods like Ritwij indra etc. (1)
भ॒द्रं ते॑ अग्ने सहसि॒न्ननी॑कमुपा॒क आ रो॑चते॒ सूर्य॑स्य । रुश॑द्दृ॒शे द॑दृशे नक्त॒या चि॒दरू॑क्षितं दृ॒श आ रू॒पे अन्न॑म् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शक्तिशाली अग्नि! तुम्हारा प्रिय तेज दिन के समय चारों ओर प्रकाशित होता है. तुम्हारा प्रकाशयुक्त एवं दर्शनीय तेज रात में भी दिखाई देता है. हे रूपवान् अग्नि! ऋत्विज् आदि तुम में चिकना एवं सुंदर अन्न डालते हैं. (१)

O mighty agni! Your beloved fast is illuminated around the time of day. Your light and visible brightness is visible even at night. O agni! Ritwiz etc. add greasy and beautiful food to you. (1)
ऋ॒भुर्विभ्वा॒ वाज॒ इन्द्रो॑ नो॒ अच्छे॒मं य॒ज्ञं र॑त्न॒धेयोप॑ यात । इ॒दा हि वो॑ धि॒षणा॑ दे॒व्यह्ना॒मधा॑त्पी॒तिं सं मदा॑ अग्मता वः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋभु, विभु, वाज एवं इंद्र! तुम लोग हमें रत्न प्रदान करने के लिए इस यज्ञ में आओ. इस समय वाणी-रूपी देवी ने तुम्हारे लिए सोमपान की प्रसन्नता धारण की है. सोमरस पीने से उत्पन्न प्रसन्नता तुम्हें प्राप्त हो. (१)
EN English Translation
O Ribhu, Vibhu, Vaj and Indra! You people come to this yagna to give us gems. At this time, the goddess of speech has possessed the happiness of Sompan for you. May you get the happiness arising from drinking somras. (1)
यस्त्वाम॑ग्न इ॒नध॑ते य॒तस्रु॒क्त्रिस्ते॒ अन्नं॑ कृ॒णव॒त्सस्मि॒न्नह॑न् । स सु द्यु॒म्नैर॒भ्य॑स्तु प्र॒सक्ष॒त्तव॒ क्रत्वा॑ जातवेदश्चिकि॒त्वान् ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! जो यजमान खुच उठाकर तुम्हें प्रज्वलित करता है एवं दिन में तीन बार तुम्हें हव्य अन्न देता है, हे जातवेद! वह तुम्हें संतुष्ट करने वाले ईधन आदि से बढ़ते हुए तुम्हारे तेज को जानता हुआ धन द्वारा शत्रुओं को पूरी तरह हरावे. (१)
EN English Translation
O agni! The host who picks up the khuch and ignites you and gives you good food three times a day, O Jattaveda! He knows your speed, growing with the fuel etc. that satisfy you, and defeat the enemies completely by money. (1)
