प्रत्य॒ग्निरु॒षसा॒मग्र॑मख्यद्विभाती॒नां सु॒मना॑ रत्न॒धेय॑म् । या॒तम॑श्विना सु॒कृतो॑ दुरो॒णमुत्सूर्यो॒ ज्योति॑षा दे॒व ए॑ति ॥ (१)

शोभन मन वाले अग्नि अंधकार-विनाशिनी उषा का मनोहर प्रकाश फैलने के समय से पहले ही बढ़ने लगते हैं. हे आश्विनीकुमारो! तुम यजमान के घर जाओ. सूर्य देव प्रकाश के साथ आ रहे हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
The agni with a adornment mind begins to grow even before the time of the spread of the beautiful light of the darkness-destroying Usha. O Ashwinikumaro! You go to the host's house. The Sun God is coming with light. (1)
ऊ॒र्ध्वं भा॒नुं स॑वि॒ता दे॒वो अ॑श्रेद्द्र॒प्सं दवि॑ध्वद्गवि॒षो न सत्वा॑ । अनु॑ व्र॒तं वरु॑णो यन्ति मि॒त्रो यत्सूर्यं॑ दि॒व्या॑रो॒हय॑न्ति ॥ (२)

सविता देव ऊपर जाने वाली किरणों का सहारा लेते हैं. किरणें जब सूर्य को आकाश पर चढ़ाती हैं, तब वरुण, मित्र एवं अन्य देव अपने कर्म इस प्रकार प्रारंभ करते हैं, जैसे धूल उड़ाता हुआ बैल गायों के पीछे चलता है. (२)
EN English Translation
Savita Dev resorts to the rays that go up. When the rays raise the sun to the sky, Varuna, friends and other gods begin their deeds as a dust-blowing bull walks behind the cows. (2)
यं सी॒मकृ॑ण्व॒न्तम॑से वि॒पृचे॑ ध्रु॒वक्षे॑मा॒ अन॑वस्यन्तो॒ अर्थ॑म् । तं सूर्यं॑ ह॒रितः॑ स॒प्त य॒ह्वीः स्पशं॒ विश्व॑स्य॒ जग॑तो वहन्ति ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सृष्टि करने वाले देवों ने संसार का कार्य न त्याग कर अंधकार को सभी प्रकार से दूर करने के निमित्त जिस सूर्य को बनाया, हरि नामक सात महान् घोड़े समस्त प्राणियों को जानने वाले उस सूर्य को ढीते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
The sun that the creators did not give up the work of the world and created in order to remove darkness in all ways, the seven great horses named Hari, the sun that knows all beings, pierces the sun. (3)
वहि॑ष्ठेभिर्वि॒हर॑न्यासि॒ तन्तु॑मव॒व्यय॒न्नसि॑तं देव॒ वस्म॑ । दवि॑ध्वतो र॒श्मयः॒ सूर्य॑स्य॒ चर्मे॒वावा॑धु॒स्तमो॑ अ॒प्स्व१॒॑न्तः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सूर्य देव! तुम विश्व का निर्वाह करने वाला रस ग्रहण करने के लिए अपनी किरणें फैलाते हुए एवं काले रंग की रात को नष्ट करते हुए अपने अत्यंत वेगवान् घोड़ों के सहारे चलते हो. सूर्य की कांपती हुई किरणें आकाश के मध्य चमड़े के समान फैले हुए अंधकार को नष्ट करती हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
O Sun God! You walk with your very swift horses spreading your rays and destroying the black night to take the juice that sustains the world. The sun's trembling rays destroy the darkness spread like leather in the middle of the sky. (4)
अना॑यतो॒ अनि॑बद्धः क॒थायं न्य॑ङ्ङुत्ता॒नोऽव॑ पद्यते॒ न । कया॑ याति स्व॒धया॒ को द॑दर्श दि॒वः स्क॒म्भः समृ॑तः पाति॒ नाक॑म् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
पास में रहने वाले, बंधनरहित एवं अधोमुख सूर्य को कोई बाधा नहीं पहुंचा सकता. ऊर्ध्वमुख सूर्य किस शक्ति से चलते हैं? आकाश में खंभे के समान सूर्य स्वर्ग का पालन करते हैं, इसे किसने देखा है? (५)
EN English Translation
There is no obstacle to the nearby, unbonded and downward sun. With which power does the sun move upwards? The suns like pillars in the sky follow heaven, who has seen it? (5)
