का सु॑ष्टु॒तिः शव॑सः सू॒नुमिन्द्र॑मर्वाची॒नं राध॑स॒ आ व॑वर्तत् । द॒दिर्हि वी॒रो गृ॑ण॒ते वसू॑नि॒ स गोप॑तिर्नि॒ष्षिधां॑ नो जनासः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
किस प्रकार की शोभन स्तुति परम बलशाली एवं हमारे सामने वर्तमान इंद्र को हमें धन देने के लिए प्रेरित कर सकती है? हे यजमानो! वीर एवं पशु आदि धन के स्वामी इंद्र हम स्तुतिकर्त्ताओं को हमारे शत्रुओं की संपत्ति दें. (१)
EN English Translation
What kind of shobhan praise can inspire the most powerful and present-day Indra in front of us to give us wealth? O hosts! Indra, the lord of wealth such as heroes and animals, etc., we give the praises the property of our enemies. (1)
स वृ॑त्र॒हत्ये॒ हव्यः॒ स ईड्यः॒ स सुष्टु॑त॒ इन्द्रः॑ स॒त्यरा॑धाः । स याम॒न्ना म॒घवा॒ मर्त्या॑य ब्रह्मण्य॒ते सुष्व॑ये॒ वरि॑वो धात् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्तुति योग्य इंद्र शत्रुओं का नाश करने के लिए बुलाए जाते हैं. वे भली प्रकार से स्तुति सुनकर यजमानों के लिए धन देते हैं. धन के स्वामी इंद्र स्तुति की कामना करने वाले यजमान को भली प्रकार से धन देते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
Praiseworthy Indra is called to destroy enemies. They listen to praise well and give money for the hosts. Indra, the lord of wealth, gives money well to the host who wishes for praise. (2)
तमिन्नरो॒ वि ह्व॑यन्ते समी॒के रि॑रि॒क्वांस॑स्त॒न्वः॑ कृण्वत॒ त्राम् । मि॒थो यत्त्या॒गमु॒भया॑सो॒ अग्म॒न्नर॑स्तो॒कस्य॒ तन॑यस्य सा॒तौ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मनुष्य युद्ध में इंद्र को ही बुलाते हैं. यजमान तपस्या द्वारा अपने शरीरों को क्षीण बनाकर इंद्र को ही अपना रक्षक नियुक्त करते हैं. यजमान और स्तुतिकर्ता मिलकर पुत्र और पौत्र पाने के लिए उन्हीं दाता इंद्र का सहारा लेते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
Humans call Indra in war. The hosts make their bodies weak by tapasya and appoint Indra as their protector. The host and the praiseor together resort to the same giver Indra to get a son and grandson. (3)
क्र॒तू॒यन्ति॑ क्षि॒तयो॒ योग॑ उग्राशुषा॒णासो॑ मि॒थो अर्ण॑सातौ । सं यद्विशोऽव॑वृत्रन्त यु॒ध्मा आदिन्नेम॑ इन्द्रयन्ते अ॒भीके॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे परम शक्तिशाली इंद्र! सभी जगह फैले हुए मनुष्य जल प्राप्त करने के लिए एकत्र होकर यज्ञ करते हैं. युद्ध की इच्छा से जब लोग संग्राम में एकत्र होते हैं तो कुछ भाग्यशाली लोग ही इंद्र का स्मरण कर पाते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
O the most powerful Indra! Human beings spread all over the place gather to get water and perform yajna. When people gather in the struggle with the desire of war, only a few lucky people are able to remember Indra. (4)
आदिद्ध॒ नेम॑ इन्द्रि॒यं य॑जन्त॒ आदित्प॒क्तिः पु॑रो॒ळाशं॑ रिरिच्यात् । आदित्सोमो॒ वि प॑पृच्या॒दसु॑ष्वी॒नादिज्जु॑जोष वृष॒भं यज॑ध्यै ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
युद्धकाल में कुछ योद्धा शक्तिशाली इंद्र की पूजा करते हैं, कुछ योद्धा पुरोडाश पकाकर इंद्र को देते हैं. उस समय सोम निचोड़ने वाले यजमान सोमरस न निचोड़ने वाले यजमानों को धन का भाग नहीं देते. कुछ लोग कामवर्षी इंद्र के निमित्त यज्ञ करने का संकल्प करते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
In times of war, some warriors worship the mighty Indra, some warriors cook the purodash and give it to Indra. At that time, the hosts who squeeze the somras do not give a share of money to the hosts who do not squeeze. Some people resolve to perform yajna on the occasion of Kamavarshi Indra. (5)
कृ॒णोत्य॑स्मै॒ वरि॑वो॒ य इ॒त्थेन्द्रा॑य॒ सोम॑मुश॒ते सु॒नोति॑ । स॒ध्री॒चीने॑न॒ मन॒सावि॑वेन॒न्तमित्सखा॑यं कृणुते स॒मत्सु॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोमरस की अभिलाषा करने वाले इंद्र के निमित्त जो सोम निचोड़ता है, इंद्र उस यजमान को धनी बनाते हैं. जो आनंदभाव से इंद्र को चाहते एवं सोमरस निचोड़ते हैं, उन्हें इंद्र मित्र बनाते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Indra, who squeezes the soma for indra who desires somras, makes that host rich. Those who want Indra with joy and squeeze somers, they are made friends by Indra. (6)
य इन्द्रा॑य सु॒नव॒त्सोम॑म॒द्य पचा॑त्प॒क्तीरु॒त भृ॒ज्जाति॑ धा॒नाः । प्रति॑ मना॒योरु॒चथा॑नि॒ हर्य॒न्तस्मि॑न्दध॒द्वृष॑णं॒ शुष्म॒मिन्द्रः॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो इंद्र के लिए सोम निचोड़ते हैं, पुरोडाश पकाते हैं एवं जौ भूनते हैं, उन्हीं स्तोताओं की स्तुतियां स्वीकार करके इंद्र यजमान के निमित्त इच्छा पूरी करने वाला बल धारण करते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
Those who squeeze the som for Indra, cook the purodas and fry the barley, accept the praises of the same hymns and accept the praises of indra and take on the force of fulfilling the desire for indra's host. (7)
य॒दा स॑म॒र्यं व्यचे॒दृघा॑वा दी॒र्घं यदा॒जिम॒भ्यख्य॑द॒र्यः । अचि॑क्रद॒द्वृष॑णं॒ पत्न्यच्छा॑ दुरो॒ण आ निशि॑तं सोम॒सुद्भिः॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शत्रुओं को मारने वाले महान् इंद्र संग्राम में जब शत्रुओं को जानकर दीर्घ काल तक संलग्न रहते हैं, उस समय इंद्र की पत्नी यज्ञशाला में ऐसे इंद्र को बुलाती है जो ऋत्विज् द्वारा निचोड़े गए सोमरस को पीकर उत्तेजित हो जाते हैं एवं मनोकामनाएं पूरी करते हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
In the great Indra sangram, when they are engaged for a long time in the great Indra struggle who kills the enemies, indra's wife calls such indra in the yajnashala who gets excited by drinking the somras squeezed by ritwij and fulfills the wishes. (8)
भूय॑सा व॒स्नम॑चर॒त्कनी॒योऽवि॑क्रीतो अकानिषं॒ पुन॒र्यन् । स भूय॑सा॒ कनी॑यो॒ नारि॑रेचीद्दी॒ना दक्षा॒ वि दु॑हन्ति॒ प्र वा॒णम् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
किसी व्यक्ति को अधिक द्रव्य का थोड़ा मूल्य मिला. वह खरीदार से बोला-“मैं ने यह वस्तु नहीं बेची. अभी मुझे और मूल्य दो.” खरीदने वाले ने मूल्य नहीं बढ़ाया और कहा-“मैं बहुत देख चुका हूं. समर्थ या असमर्थ कैसा भी व्यक्ति हो, बेचते समय जो मूल्य निश्चित हो जाता है, उसी पर जमा रहता है.” (९)
EN English Translation
A person got a little value of more money. He said to the buyer, "I didn't sell this item. Just give me another price." The buyer didn't raise the price and said, "I've seen a lot. Whatever person is able or unable, the price that is fixed at the time of sale is stored on it." (9)
क इ॒मं द॒शभि॒र्ममेन्द्रं॑ क्रीणाति धे॒नुभिः॑ । य॒दा वृ॒त्राणि॒ जङ्घ॑न॒दथै॑नं मे॒ पुन॑र्ददत् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मेरे इस इंद्र को दस गायों के बदले कौन मोल लेता है? शर्त यह है कि जब इंद्र तुम्हारे शत्रुओं का वध कर चुके हों तो इन्हें लौटा देना. (१०)
EN English Translation
Who buys this Indra of mine in exchange for ten cows? The condition is that when Indra has killed your enemies, give them back. (10)
नू ष्टु॒त इ॑न्द्र॒ नू गृ॑णा॒न इषं॑ जरि॒त्रे न॒द्यो॒३॒॑ न पी॑पेः । अका॑रि ते हरिवो॒ ब्रह्म॒ नव्यं॑ धि॒या स्या॑म र॒थ्यः॑ सदा॒साः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जिस प्रकार जल सरिता को पूर्ण करता है, उसी प्रकार तुम पूर्ववर्ती ऋषियों की तथा हमारी स्तुतियां सुनकर उन्हें स्वीकार करो एवं हमारा अन्न बढ़ाओ. हे हरि नामक घोड़ों के स्वामी इंद्र! हमने तुम्हारे निमित्त नवीन स्तुतियां बनाई हैं. हम रथ के स्वामी एवं तुम्हारे सेवक बनें. (११)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Just as water completes the stream, so listen to the praises of the previous sages and our praises and accept them and increase our food. O Lord indra of horses named Hari! We have made new praises for you. Let us be the masters of the chariot and your servants. (11)
