प्र ऋ॒भुभ्यो॑ दू॒तमि॑व॒ वाच॑मिष्य उप॒स्तिरे॒ श्वैत॑रीं धे॒नुमी॑ळे । ये वात॑जूतास्त॒रणि॑भि॒रेवैः॒ परि॒ द्यां स॒द्यो अ॒पसो॑ बभू॒वुः ॥ (१)

हम ऋभुओं के समीप अपनी स्तुतियों को दूत के समान भेजते हैं. हम सोमरस तैयार करने के लिए ऋभुओं से दुधारू गाय मांगते हैं. ऋभुगण वायु के समान तीव्र गतिशील तथा संसार के उपकारक कर्म करने वाले हैं एवं वेगशाली घोड़ों की सहायता से तुरंत आकाश को सभी ओर से घेर लेते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
We send our praises to the sages as messengers. We ask the sages for milch cows to prepare somras. The Sages are as fast as the wind and do the doers of the world's doers and immediately surround the sky from all sides with the help of fast horses. (1)
य॒दार॒मक्र॑न्नृ॒भवः॑ पि॒तृभ्यां॒ परि॑विष्टी वे॒षणा॑ दं॒सना॑भिः । आदिद्दे॒वाना॒मुप॑ स॒ख्यमा॑य॒न्धीरा॑सः पु॒ष्टिम॑वहन्म॒नायै॑ ॥ (२)

जिस समय ऋभुओं ने अपने माता-पिता को परिचर्या द्वारा वृद्ध से युवा बनाया एवं अन्य उत्तम कार्यो द्वारा शोभा प्राप्त की, उसी समय इंद्र आदि देवों की मित्रता उन्हें प्राप्त हुई. धीर ऋभुगण यजमान के लिए गौ आदि संपत्तियों द्वारा पुष्टि धारण करते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
At the same time when the Sages made their parents from the old to the young through care and were adorned by other good deeds, at the same time they got the friendship of Indra and the gods. Dhir Hribhugana holds confirmation by properties such as cows etc. for the host. (2)
पुन॒र्ये च॒क्रुः पि॒तरा॒ युवा॑ना॒ सना॒ यूपे॑व जर॒णा शया॑ना । ते वाजो॒ विभ्वा॑ँ ऋ॒भुरिन्द्र॑वन्तो॒ मधु॑प्सरसो नोऽवन्तु य॒ज्ञम् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ऋभुओं ने कटे हुए काठ के समान जीर्ण एवं पड़े रहने वाले अपने माता-पिता को नित्य तरुण बना दिया. वे वाज, विभु और ऋभु इंद्र के साथ मिलकर सोमरस का पान करें एवं हमारे यज्ञों की रक्षा करें. (३)
EN English Translation
The sages made their parents, who were as dilapidated and lying like a cut wood, young. They, along with Vaj, Vibhu and Ribhu Indra, drink the somras and protect our yagnas. (3)
यत्सं॒वत्स॑मृ॒भवो॒ गामर॑क्ष॒न्यत्सं॒वत्स॑मृ॒भवो॒ मा अपिं॑शन् । यत्सं॒वत्स॒मभ॑र॒न्भासो॑ अस्या॒स्ताभिः॒ शमी॑भिरमृत॒त्वमा॑शुः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ऋभुओं ने एक वर्ष तक मरी हुई गाय की रक्षा की. वे एक वर्ष तक उसके शरीर की प्रभा को सुरक्षित रखे रहे. एक वर्ष ऋभुओं ने गाय के अवयवों को रखा था. इन कार्यो से ऋभुओं को अमर पद प्राप्त हुआ. (४)
EN English Translation
The sages protected the dead cow for a year, preserving the predicament of its body for a year. For one year the sages kept the ingredients of the cow. Through these works, the sages got immortal status. (4)
ज्ये॒ष्ठ आ॑ह चम॒सा द्वा क॒रेति॒ कनी॑या॒न्त्रीन्कृ॑णवा॒मेत्या॑ह । क॒नि॒ष्ठ आ॑ह च॒तुर॑स्क॒रेति॒ त्वष्ट॑ ऋभव॒स्तत्प॑नय॒द्वचो॑ वः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बड़े ऋभु ने कहा-“हम चमस को दो बनावेंगे.” उससे छोटे ऋभु ने कहा-“हम एक चमस के तीन करेंगे.” सबसे छोटा ऋभु बोला-“हम चमस के चार भाग करेंगे.” हे ऋभुओ! तुम्हारे गुरु त्वष्टा ने चमस के चार भाग करने वाली बात मान ली. (५)
EN English Translation
The elder Ribhu said, "We will make two spoons." To him, the younger One Said, "We will do three of a spoon." The youngest, Ribhu, said, "We will do four parts of the spoon." O Ribhu! Your guru, Taksha, accepted the four-part thing of the spoon. (5)
स॒त्यमू॑चु॒र्नर॑ ए॒वा हि च॒क्रुरनु॑ स्व॒धामृ॒भवो॑ जग्मुरे॒ताम् । वि॒भ्राज॑मानाँश्चम॒साँ अहे॒वावे॑न॒त्त्वष्टा॑ च॒तुरो॑ ददृ॒श्वान् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मानव रूपधारी ऋभुओं ने सच्ची बात कही थी. उन्होंने जैसा कहा था, वैसा किया. चमस के चार भाग करने के तुरंत बाद ऋभुगण तृतीय सवन में स्वधा के भागी बने. दिवस के समान तेजस्वी चार चमसों को देखकर त्वष्टा ने उन्हें लेने की अभिलाषा प्रकट की. (६)
EN English Translation
The human-like sages had spoken the truth. He did as he said. Soon after doing the four parts of the spoon, Ribhugan became a participant of the swadha in the third sawan. Seeing the four spoons as bright as the day, Taksha expressed her desire to take them. (6)
द्वाद॑श॒ द्यून्यदगो॑ह्यस्याति॒थ्ये रण॑न्नृ॒भवः॑ स॒सन्तः॑ । सु॒क्षेत्रा॑कृण्व॒न्नन॑यन्त॒ सिन्धू॒न्धन्वाति॑ष्ठ॒न्नोष॑धीर्नि॒म्नमापः॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिसे छिपाया नहीं जा सकता, ऐसे सूर्य के घर में ऋभुगण अतिथि के रूप में सत्कार पाते हुए बारह दिन तक सुखपूर्वक रहते हैं. जब वे सूने खेतों को वर्षा द्वारा फसलों से भरा- पूरा एवं नदियों को प्रवाहशील बनाते हैं, उस समय जलरहित स्थान में ओषधियां उत्पन्न होती है एवं निचले स्थान में पानी भर जाता है. (७)
EN English Translation
In the house of the sun which cannot be hidden, the sages live happily for twelve days, receiving hospitality as guests. When they fill the sunken fields with crops by rain and make the rivers flowing, at that time, the waterless place is filled with herbs and the lower ground is filled with water. (7)
रथं॒ ये च॒क्रुः सु॒वृतं॑ नरे॒ष्ठां ये धे॒नुं वि॑श्व॒जुवं॑ वि॒श्वरू॑पाम् । त आ त॑क्षन्त्वृ॒भवो॑ र॒यिं नः॒ स्वव॑सः॒ स्वप॑सः सु॒हस्ताः॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिन्होंने सुंदर पहियों वाला रथ बनाया था एवं सबको प्रेरणा देने वाली विश्वरूपा गौ का निर्माण किया था, वे शोभन-कर्म वाले, शोभन-अन्न के स्वामी एवं सुंदर हाथों से युक्त ऋभुगण हमें धन प्रदान करें. (८)
EN English Translation
Those who had built a chariot with beautiful wheels and created vishwarupa gau, which inspired everyone, may the lord of shobhan-karma, the lord of shobhan-anna and the sages with beautiful hands give us wealth. (8)
अपो॒ ह्ये॑षा॒मजु॑षन्त दे॒वा अ॒भि क्रत्वा॒ मन॑सा॒ दीध्या॑नाः । वाजो॑ दे॒वाना॑मभवत्सु॒कर्मेन्द्र॑स्य ऋभु॒क्षा वरु॑णस्य॒ विभ्वा॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्रादि देवों ने ऋभुओं के कर्म को स्वीकार किया. वे देवगण अनुग्रहयुक्त मन से ऋभुओं को वर देने के कारण दीप्तिशाली थे. शोभनकर्म वाले वाज (सबसे छोटे ऋभु) देवों के संबंधी थे, सबसे बड़े ऋभु इंद्र के संबंधी एवं मध्यम ऋभु अर्थात् विभु वरुण से संबंधित हुए. (९)
EN English Translation
Indradi Devas accepted the karma of the Ribhus. Those devas were radiant due to giving boons to the ribs with a gracious heart. Vaja (the smallest Ribhu) with Shobhanakarma was related to the devas, the eldest Ribhu was related to Indra and the middle Ribhu i.e. Vibhu belonged to Varuna. (9)
ये हरी॑ मे॒धयो॒क्था मद॑न्त॒ इन्द्रा॑य च॒क्रुः सु॒युजा॒ ये अश्वा॑ । ते रा॒यस्पोषं॒ द्रवि॑णान्य॒स्मे ध॒त्त ऋ॑भवः क्षेम॒यन्तो॒ न मि॒त्रम् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिन ऋभुःओं ने अपनी बुद्धि एवं स्तुतियों द्वारा हरि नामक घोड़ों को प्रहर्षित किया, जिन्होंने उन सुंदर घोड़ों को इंद्र के लिए भली प्रकार से युक्त किया, वे ही ऋभुगण मित्र के समान हमारी मंगल कामना करते हुए हमें पुष्टि, अन्न एवं धन प्रदान करें. (१०)
EN English Translation
The sages who, through their wisdom and praises, have made the horses called Hari famous, who have equipped those beautiful horses well for Indra, may they give us confirmation, food and money, wishing us good luck like a friend of the Sages. (10)
इ॒दाह्नः॑ पी॒तिमु॒त वो॒ मदं॑ धु॒र्न ऋ॒ते श्रा॒न्तस्य॑ स॒ख्याय॑ दे॒वाः । ते नू॒नम॒स्मे ऋ॑भवो॒ वसू॑नि तृ॒तीये॑ अ॒स्मिन्सव॑ने दधात ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
चमस बनाने के पश्चात् देवों ने तीसरे सवन में तुम ऋभु.ओं को सोमरस एवं उससे उत्पन्न प्रसन्नता दी. तपस्वी व्यक्ति के अतिरिक्त देवगण किसी के मित्र नहीं बनते. हे महान् ऋभुओ! तृतीय सवन में तुम हमें निश्चित रूप से धन दो. (११)
EN English Translation
After making the chamas, the gods gave you the somers and the happiness it produces in the third suave. Apart from the ascetic person, the gods do not become friends with anyone. O great lord! In the third suture you will definitely give us money. (11)
