वै॒श्वा॒न॒राय॑ मी॒ळ्हुषे॑ स॒जोषाः॑ क॒था दा॑शेमा॒ग्नये॑ बृ॒हद्भाः । अनू॑नेन बृह॒ता व॒क्षथे॒नोप॑ स्तभायदुप॒मिन्न रोधः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
परस्पर समान प्रेम रखने वाले हम ऋत्विज् और यजमान कामवर्षी एवं भासमान महान् वैश्वानर अग्नि को किस प्रकार हव्य दें? थूना जिस प्रकार छप्पर को धारण करता है, उसी प्रकार अग्नि अपने विशाल एवं संपूर्ण शरीर से स्वर्ग को धारण करते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
How can we, who have equal love for each other, give a tribute to the great Vaishnavar Agni, the great, and the host, the kamvarshi and the host kamvarshi? Just as the snout holds the roof, so agni holds heaven with its vast and entire body. (1)
मा नि॑न्दत॒ य इ॒मां मह्यं॑ रा॒तिं दे॒वो द॒दौ मर्त्या॑य स्व॒धावा॑न् । पाका॑य॒ गृत्सो॑ अ॒मृतो॒ विचे॑ता वैश्वान॒रो नृत॑मो य॒ह्वो अ॒ग्निः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे होताओ! वैश्वानर अग्नि की निंदा मत करो. वे हव्य पाकर हम मरणशील एवं पूर्ण- ज्ञान वाले यजमानों को यह दान देते हैं. वे मेधावी, मरणरहित, विशिष्ट बुद्धि वाले, नेताओं में श्रेष्ठ तथा महान् हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
Hey, it was! Don't condemn the Global Fire. By receiving those vows, we give this donation to the dying and full-knowledge hosts. They are brilliant, without death, with a specific intellect, the best and the greatest of leaders. (2)
साम॑ द्वि॒बर्हा॒ महि॑ ति॒ग्मभृ॑ष्टिः स॒हस्र॑रेता वृष॒भस्तुवि॑ष्मान् । प॒दं न गोरप॑गूळ्हं विवि॒द्वान॒ग्निर्मह्यं॒ प्रेदु॑ वोचन्मनी॒षाम् ॥ (३)

मध्यम और उत्तम दो स्थानों में विराजमान, तीक्ष्ण तेज वाले, अधिक सारयुक्त, कामवर्षी, बहुधनी, खोई हुई गाय के चरणचिह्णों के समान रहस्यपूर्ण एवं जानने योग्य अग्नि हमारे पूज्य एवं प्रिय स्तोत्र को बार-बार जानकर हमें बतावें. (३)
EN English Translation
Sit in two places medium and best, with sharp intensity, more abstract, lustful, multi-rich, as the footprints of the lost cow, let us know the mysterious and knowable agni of our revered and beloved hymns over and over again. (3)
प्र ताँ अ॒ग्निर्ब॑भसत्ति॒ग्मज॑म्भ॒स्तपि॑ष्ठेन शो॒चिषा॒ यः सु॒राधाः॑ । प्र ये मि॒नन्ति॒ वरु॑णस्य॒ धाम॑ प्रि॒या मि॒त्रस्य॒ चेत॑तो ध्रु॒वाणि॑ ॥ (४)

शोभन धनयुक्त एवं तीखे दांतों वाले अग्नि अत्यंत तापकारी तेज द्वारा उन्हें नष्ट करें जो जानने वाले मित्र और वरुण के प्रिय तथा ध्रुवतेज की निंदा करते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
Let the agni with rich and sharp teeth destroy them with the most tempestuous radiant, who condemn the knowing friend and varun's beloved and dhruvatej. (4)
अ॒भ्रा॒तरो॒ न योष॑णो॒ व्यन्तः॑ पति॒रिपो॒ न जन॑यो दु॒रेवाः॑ । पा॒पासः॒ सन्तो॑ अनृ॒ता अ॑स॒त्या इ॒दं प॒दम॑जनता गभी॒रम् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बंधु-बांधवरहित नारी के समान यज्ञादि त्यागकर जाने वाले, पति से द्वेष करने वाली स्त्रियों के समान दुराचारी, पापी, मानस तथा वाचिक-सत्य-रहित लोग नरक को प्राप्त होते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Like a brother-in-bound woman, those who renounce the yagnaadi, the women who hate their husbands, the wicked, the sinners, the psyches, and the unspeakable truths, attain hell. (5)
इ॒दं मे॑ अग्ने॒ किय॑ते पाव॒कामि॑नते गु॒रुं भा॒रं न मन्म॑ । बृ॒हद्द॑धाथ धृष॒ता ग॑भी॒रं य॒ह्वं पृ॒ष्ठं प्रय॑सा स॒प्तधा॑तु ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पवित्रकर्तता अग्नि! जैसे अल्प-शक्ति वाले व्यक्ति पर भारी बोझा लादा जाता है, उसी प्रकार तुम्हारा कर्म मेरे लिए भारी है, पर मैं उसका त्याग नहीं करता. तुम मुझे प्रिय, अधिक, शत्रुओं को हराने वाले अन्न से युक्त, गंभीर, महान्, स्पर्श करने योग्य एवं सात प्रकार का धन दान करो. (६)
EN English Translation
O holy agni! Just as a person with little power is burdened with a heavy burden, so your deed is heavy for me, but I do not forsake it. You dear to me, more, give me seven kinds of wealth, serious, great, touchable and seven kinds of wealth, with food that defeats enemies. (6)
तमिन्न्वे॒३॒॑व स॑म॒ना स॑मा॒नम॒भि क्रत्वा॑ पुन॒ती धी॒तिर॑श्याः । स॒सस्य॒ चर्म॒न्नधि॒ चारु॒ पृश्ने॒रग्रे॑ रु॒प आरु॑पितं॒ जबा॑रु ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
उपयुक्त एवं हमें पवित्र करने वाली स्तुति कर्म के साथ शीघ्र ही वैश्वानर के पास पहुंचे. वह स्तुति वैश्वानर अग्नि के दीप्तिमंडल पृथ्वी से निश्चित स्वर्गलोक के ऊपर घूमने के लिए देवों ने पूर्व दिशा में स्थापित की है. (७)
EN English Translation
The appropriate and sanctifying praises of us soon reached the Vaishvanar with karma. That praise is set up by the devas in the east direction to revolve over the heavenly realm fixed from the deepest circle of the Vaishnavar agni from the earth. (7)
प्र॒वाच्यं॒ वच॑सः॒ किं मे॑ अ॒स्य गुहा॑ हि॒तमुप॑ नि॒णिग्व॑दन्ति । यदु॒स्रिया॑णा॒मप॒ वारि॑व॒ व्रन्पाति॑ प्रि॒यं रु॒पो अग्रं॑ प॒दं वेः ॥ (८)

मेरे इस वचन के अतिरिक्त कहने योग्य अन्य बात क्या है? जानने वाले लोग कहते हैं कि दूध काढ़ने वाले जिस दूध को जल के समान निकालते हैं, उसे वैश्वानर अग्नि गुफा में छिपाकर रखते हैं एवं फैली हुई धरती के सर्वप्रिय तथा श्रेष्ठ स्थान की रक्षा करते हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
What else is there to say besides this word of mine? People who know say that the milk that the milk collectors extract like water, keep it hidden in the Vaishvanar agni cave and protect the all-love and best place of the spread earth. (8)
इ॒दमु॒ त्यन्महि॑ म॒हामनी॑कं॒ यदु॒स्रिया॒ सच॑त पू॒र्व्यं गौः । ऋ॒तस्य॑ प॒दे अधि॒ दीद्या॑नं॒ गुहा॑ रघु॒ष्यद्र॑घु॒यद्वि॑वेद ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
दुधारू गायों द्वारा अग्निहोत्रादि के लिए सेवित, अत्यंत चमकता हुआ, गुफा में शीघ्र गतिशील, प्रसिद्ध, महान् एवं पूज्य सूर्यमंडल रूपी वैश्वानर अग्नि को मैं जान चुका हूं. (९)
EN English Translation
I have come to know the Vaishnavar agni in the form of a quickly moving, famous, great and revered solar system in the cave, served for agnihotradi by milch cows. (9)
अध॑ द्युता॒नः पि॒त्रोः सचा॒साम॑नुत॒ गुह्यं॒ चारु॒ पृश्नेः॑ । मा॒तुष्प॒दे प॑र॒मे अन्ति॒ षद्गोर्वृष्णः॑ शो॒चिषः॒ प्रय॑तस्य जि॒ह्वा ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
दीप्यमान वैश्वानर अग्नि धरती-आकाशरूपी माता-पिता के बीच में व्याप्त रहकर गाय के थन में छिपे हुए दूध को मुंह से पीने के लिए जागृत हुए थे. कामवर्षी, दीप्त एवं आहवानीय रूप से निश्चित वैश्वानर अग्नि की जीभ गोमाता के थन रूप उत्तम स्थान में उपस्थित है. (१०)
EN English Translation
The radiant Vaishnavar agni was awakened to drink the milk hidden in the cow's trunk with his mouth, pervading the earth-celestial parents. The tongue of the kamarshi, the bright and agni-bound Vaishnavar agni is present in the best place as the thun form of Gomata. (10)
ऋ॒तं वो॑चे॒ नम॑सा पृ॒च्छ्यमा॑न॒स्तवा॒शसा॑ जातवेदो॒ यदी॒दम् । त्वम॒स्य क्ष॑यसि॒ यद्ध॒ विश्वं॑ दि॒वि यदु॒ द्रवि॑णं॒ यत्पृ॑थि॒व्याम् ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मुझ यजमान से यदि कोई नमस्कार करके पूछे तो मैं सत्य कहूंगा. हे जातवेद अग्नि! यदि तुम्हारी स्तुति से हमें धन मिलेगा तो उसके स्वामी तुम्हीं बनोगे. सबके धन भी तुम्हारे ही हैं, चाहे वे धन स्वर्ग में हों या धरती पर. (११)
EN English Translation
If someone asks me by greeting me, I will tell the truth. O Jativeda Agni! If we get wealth from your praise, you will become its master. Everyone's wealth is yours, whether they are in heaven or on earth. (11)
किं नो॑ अ॒स्य द्रवि॑णं॒ कद्ध॒ रत्नं॒ वि नो॑ वोचो जातवेदश्चिकि॒त्वान् । गुहाध्व॑नः पर॒मं यन्नो॑ अ॒स्य रेकु॑ प॒दं न नि॑दा॒ना अग॑न्म ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इस धन का साधनरूप धन क्या है? हितकर धन क्या है? हे जातवेद! तुम इस बात को जानते हो, इसलिए हमें बताओ. धन प्राप्ति के मार्ग का गूऴ उपाय भी हमें बताओ. हम निंदा के पात्र बने बिना गंतव्य स्थान को पा सकें. (१२)
EN English Translation
What is the money as a means of this money? What is beneficial money? O Jathaveda! You know this, so tell us. Also tell us the determining way of getting money. We can find the destination without being condemned. (12)
का म॒र्यादा॑ व॒युना॒ कद्ध॑ वा॒ममच्छा॑ गमेम र॒घवो॒ न वाज॑म् । क॒दा नो॑ दे॒वीर॒मृत॑स्य॒ पत्नीः॒ सूरो॒ वर्णे॑न ततनन्नु॒षासः॑ ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
पूर्व आदि दिशाओं की सीमा, पदार्थज्ञान एवं रमणीय वस्तुएं क्या हैं? इन्हें हम उसी प्रकार प्राप्त करें, जिस प्रकार तेज दौड़ने वाला घोड़ा युद्धभूमि में पहुंच जाता है. प्रकाशयुक्त, मरणरहित, सूर्य का पालन करने वाली एवं जन्म देने वाली उषाएं हमें अपने प्रकाश से कब घेरेंगी? (१३)
EN English Translation
What are the limits, the knowledge of matter and the delightful objects of the east, etc.? Let us get them in the same way as a horse running fast reaches the battlefield. When will the lighted, the dying, the sun-abiding and giving birth surround us with their light? (13)
अ॒नि॒रेण॒ वच॑सा फ॒ल्ग्वे॑न प्र॒तीत्ये॑न कृ॒धुना॑तृ॒पासः॑ । अधा॒ ते अ॑ग्ने॒ किमि॒हा व॑दन्त्यनायु॒धास॒ आस॑ता सचन्ताम् ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हव्य-अन्न से रहित स्तुतियों एवं अर्थहीन ओछे वचनों द्वारा अतृप्त लोग इस संसार में तुम्हारे विषय में जो कुछ कहते हैं, वह व्यर्थ है, हव्य-रूपी साधन के बिना वे लोग दुःख उठाते हैं. (१४)
EN English Translation
O agni! What people say about you in this world by praises and meaningless words without food and without food is in vain, without means of goodness, they suffer. (14)
अ॒स्य श्रि॒ये स॑मिधा॒नस्य॒ वृष्णो॒ वसो॒रनी॑कं॒ दम॒ आ रु॑रोच । रुश॒द्वसा॑नः सु॒दृशी॑करूपः क्षि॒तिर्न रा॒या पु॑रु॒वारो॑ अद्यौत् ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यजमान के कल्याण के निमित्त प्रज्वलित, कामवर्षी एवं निवास स्थान देने वाले अग्नि की ज्वालाएं यज्ञशाला की ओर चमकती हैं. तेजधारी, रमणीय बल वाले व अनेक यजमानों द्वारा स्तुत अग्नि इस प्रकार प्रकाशित होते हैं, जिस प्रकार अश्व आदि धन से राजा शोभा पाता है. (१५)
EN English Translation
The flames of agni that are lit, workable and inhabiting for the welfare of the host shine towards the yajnashala. The agnis, which are sharp-edged, with delightful force and praised by many hosts, are illuminated in this way, just as the horse etc. the king is adorned with wealth. (15)
