स॒मु॒द्रादू॒र्मिर्मधु॑मा॒ँ उदा॑र॒दुपां॒शुना॒ सम॑मृत॒त्वमा॑नट् । घृ॒तस्य॒ नाम॒ गुह्यं॒ यदस्ति॑ जि॒ह्वा दे॒वाना॑म॒मृत॑स्य॒ नाभिः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
गायों के थन से दूध की मधु भरी धाराएं निकलती हैं. मनुष्य उनके कारण मरणरहित बनते हैं. घृत का नाम रक्षणीय इसीलिए है कि वह देवों की जीभ एवं अमृत का केंद्र है. (१)
EN English Translation
Honey-filled streams of milk come out of the cows' trunks. Human beings become deathless because of them. The name of the ghrit is protectable because it is the tongue of the gods and the center of the nectar. (1)
व॒यं नाम॒ प्र ब्र॑वामा घृ॒तस्या॒स्मिन्य॒ज्ञे धा॑रयामा॒ नमो॑भिः । उप॑ ब्र॒ह्मा शृ॑णवच्छ॒स्यमा॑नं॒ चतुः॑शृङ्गोऽवमीद्गौ॒र ए॒तत् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम यजमान घी की प्रशंसा करते हैं एवं उसे इस यज्ञ में आदरपूर्वक धारण करते हैं. ब्रह्मा इस स्तुति को सुनें. गौ देव इस संसार का पालन करते हैं. चारों वेद उनके सींगों के समान हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
We admire host ghee and respectfully wear it in this yagna. Brahma listen to this praise. Gau Dev follows this world. The four Vedas are similar to their horns. (2)
च॒त्वारि॒ शृङ्गा॒ त्रयो॑ अस्य॒ पादा॒ द्वे शी॒र्षे स॒प्त हस्ता॑सो अस्य । त्रिधा॑ ब॒द्धो वृ॑ष॒भो रो॑रवीति म॒हो दे॒वो मर्त्या॒ँ आ वि॑वेश ॥ (३)

यज्ञात्मक अग्नि के सींगों के समान चार वेद हैं. सवनों के रूप में इसके तीन चरण हैं. ब्रह्मोदन एवं प्रवर्ग्य के रूप में इसके दो सिर हैं. छंदों के रूप में इसके सात हाथ हैं. अभीष्टवर्षी ये अग्नि देवमंत्र, कल्प एवं ब्राह्मण इन तीन बंधनों से बंधे हैं एवं महान् शब्द करते हैं. वे महान् देव मानवों के बीच प्रविष्ट हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
There are four Vedas similar to the horns of the sacrificial agni. It has three stages as savans. It has two heads as celibacy and pravargya. It has seven hands in the form of verses. These agni devmantras, kalpas and brahmins are bound by these three bonds and make great words. They are entered among the great gods humans. (3)
त्रिधा॑ हि॒तं प॒णिभि॑र्गु॒ह्यमा॑नं॒ गवि॑ दे॒वासो॑ घृ॒तमन्व॑विन्दन् । इन्द्र॒ एकं॒ सूर्य॒ एकं॑ जजान वे॒नादेकं॑ स्व॒धया॒ निष्ट॑तक्षुः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
असुरों ने गायों में दूध, दही एवं घी तीन पदार्थ छिपाए थे. देवों ने उन्हें खोज लिया. इंद्र एवं सूर्य ने एक-एक पदार्थ उत्पन्न किया. देवों ने कांतिपूर्ण अग्नि से घृत उत्पन्न किया. (४)
EN English Translation
The asuras had hidden three substances of milk, curd and ghee in the cows. The gods found them. Indra and the Sun produced one substance each. The gods created disgust from the thorny agni. (4)
ए॒ता अ॑र्षन्ति॒ हृद्या॑त्समु॒द्राच्छ॒तव्र॑जा रि॒पुणा॒ नाव॒चक्षे॑ । घृ॒तस्य॒ धारा॑ अ॒भि चा॑कशीमि हिर॒ण्ययो॑ वेत॒सो मध्य॑ आसाम् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
आकाश से असीमित गति वाला जल नीचे गिरता है. रोकने वाला शत्रु इसे नहीं देख सकता. हम उसे देख सकते हैं एवं उसके मध्य में छिपी अग्नि को भी देख सकते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Water with unlimited speed falls from the sky. The stopping enemy cannot see it. We can see it and see the agni hidden in its middle. (5)
स॒म्यक्स्र॑वन्ति स॒रितो॒ न धेना॑ अ॒न्तर्हृ॒दा मन॑सा पू॒यमा॑नाः । ए॒ते अ॑र्षन्त्यू॒र्मयो॑ घृ॒तस्य॑ मृ॒गा इ॑व क्षिप॒णोरीष॑माणाः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
प्रसन्नता देने वाली नदी के समान ही घी की धाराएं अग्नि पर गिरती हैं. वे हृदय के बीच रहने वाले मन द्वारा पवित्र हैं. व्याध के डर से जिस प्रकार हिरण भागते हैं, उसी प्रकार घी की धाराएं चलती हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Streams of ghee fall on the agni just like a happy river. They are sanctified by the mind that lives between the hearts. Just as deer run away for fear of disease, so do streams of ghee. (6)
सिन्धो॑रिव प्राध्व॒ने शू॑घ॒नासो॒ वात॑प्रमियः पतयन्ति य॒ह्वाः । घृ॒तस्य॒ धारा॑ अरु॒षो न वा॒जी काष्ठा॑ भि॒न्दन्नू॒र्मिभिः॒ पिन्व॑मानः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
नदी का जल जिस प्रकार निचले स्थान की ओर तेजी से बहता है, उसी प्रकार घी की धाराएं सीमा को पार करके आगे बढ़ती हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
Just as the water of the river flows rapidly towards the lower point, similarly the streams of ghee cross the boundary and move forward. (7)
अ॒भि प्र॑वन्त॒ सम॑नेव॒ योषाः॑ कल्या॒ण्य१॒ः॑ स्मय॑मानासो अ॒ग्निम् । घृ॒तस्य॒ धाराः॑ स॒मिधो॑ नसन्त॒ ता जु॑षा॒णो ह॑र्यति जा॒तवे॑दाः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस प्रकार कल्याणी नारी मुसकुराती हुई तन्मय चित्त से पति की ओर बढ़ती है, उसी प्रकार घी की धाराएं अग्नि की ओर जाती हैं. वे भली प्रकार दीप्त होकर मिलती हैं. अग्नि उन्हें सेवन करता हुआ उनकी कामना करता है. (८)
EN English Translation
Just as kalyani woman smiles and moves towards her husband with a tanmay mind, so the streams of ghee go towards the agni. They meet well. The agni consumes them and wishes them. (8)
क॒न्या॑ इव वह॒तुमेत॒वा उ॑ अ॒ञ्ज्य॑ञ्जा॒ना अ॒भि चा॑कशीमि । यत्र॒ सोमः॑ सू॒यते॒ यत्र॑ य॒ज्ञो घृ॒तस्य॒ धारा॑ अ॒भि तत्प॑वन्ते ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम देखते हैं कि जिस प्रकार कन्या पति के समीप जाने के लिए शृंगार करती है, उसी प्रकार घृत की धाराएं अग्नि के समीप जाने के लिए अपना रूप निखारती हैं, जिस स्थान पर सोम निचोड़ा जाता है अथवा यज्ञ आरंभ होता है, उसी स्थान की ओर घी की धाराएं चलती हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
We see that just as the girl adorns her to go near the husband, similarly the streams of ghrit refine their form to go near the agni, the streams of ghee move towards the place where the som is squeezed or the yajna begins. (9)
अ॒भ्य॑र्षत सुष्टु॒तिं गव्य॑मा॒जिम॒स्मासु॑ भ॒द्रा द्रवि॑णानि धत्त । इ॒मं य॒ज्ञं न॑यत दे॒वता॑ नो घृ॒तस्य॒ धारा॒ मधु॑मत्पवन्ते ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋत्विजो! गायों के समीप जाओ एवं उनकी शोभन स्तुति करो. वे हमको कल्याणकारी धन दें एवं हमारे इस यज्ञ को देवों के समीप ले जावें. घृत की धाराएं मधुरतापूर्वक चलती हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
Hey Ritvijo! Go near the cows and praise them. They give us welfare money and take this yajna of ours closer to the gods. The streams of disgust move sweetly. (10)
धाम॑न्ते॒ विश्वं॒ भुव॑न॒मधि॑ श्रि॒तम॒न्तः स॑मु॒द्रे हृ॒द्य१॒॑न्तरायु॑षि । अ॒पामनी॑के समि॒थे य आभृ॑त॒स्तम॑श्याम॒ मधु॑मन्तं त ऊ॒र्मिम् ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
तुम्हारा तेज सारे विश्व में व्याप्त है. वह सागर में वाडवाग्नि, आकाश में सूर्य, हृदय में वैश्वानर, अन्न में आहार, जलों में विद्युत व संग्राम में वीरता के रूप में है. इस प्रकार सभी प्राणी तुम्हारे तेज के आश्रित हैं. उसकी घृतरूपी धारा का मधुर रस हम चखते हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
Your speed is pervading the whole world. He is in the form of Wadvagni in the ocean, the sun in the sky, the Vaishvanar in the heart, the food in the food, the electricity in the waters and the heroism in the struggle. Thus all beings are dependents of your speed. We taste the sweet juice of his deriding stream. (11)
