अग्ने॑ मृ॒ळ म॒हाँ अ॑सि॒ य ई॒मा दे॑व॒युं जन॑म् । इ॒येथ॑ ब॒र्हिरा॒सद॑म् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे महान् अग्नि! हम लोगों को सुखी करो एवं देवों की अभिलाषा करने वाले यजमान के पास कुश पर बैठने के लिए आओ. (१)
EN English Translation
O great agni! Please us and come to sit on kush near the host who wishes for the gods. (1)
स मानु॑षीषु दू॒ळभो॑ वि॒क्षु प्रा॒वीरम॑र्त्यः । दू॒तो विश्वे॑षां भुवत् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
राक्षसों आदि द्वारा अहिंसित, मानव प्रजाओं में भली प्रकार गमन करने वाले एवं मरणरहित अग्नि सब देवों के दूत बनें. (२)
EN English Translation
The non-violent by demons, etc., and the agni that moves well in human beings and without death, become messengers of all gods. (2)
स सद्म॒ परि॑ णीयते॒ होता॑ म॒न्द्रो दिवि॑ष्टिषु । उ॒त पोता॒ नि षी॑दति ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ऋत्विजों द्वारा यज्ञशाला में लाए गए अग्नि यज्ञों में प्रशंसनीय होता बनते हैं अथवा पोता बनकर बैठते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
The agni brought to the yajnashala by the ritvijas becomes praiseworthy in the yagnashala or sit as a grandson. (3)
उ॒त ग्ना अ॒ग्निर॑ध्व॒र उ॒तो गृ॒हप॑ति॒र्दमे॑ । उ॒त ब्र॒ह्मा नि षी॑दति ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वे अग्नि यज्ञ में देवपत्नी, अध्वर्यु, गृहपति अथवा ब्रह्मा बनकर बैठते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
They sit in agni yajna as devapatti, adhwaryu, grihapati or brahma. (4)
वेषि॒ ह्य॑ध्वरीय॒तामु॑पव॒क्ता जना॑नाम् । ह॒व्या च॒ मानु॑षाणाम् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम यज्ञ करने के इच्छुक लोगों का हव्य चाहते हो एवं यज्ञकर्म के उपवक्ता हो. (५)
EN English Translation
O agni! You want the greeting of those who want to perform yajna and are the advocate of yajnakarma. (5)
वेषीद्व॑स्य दू॒त्यं१॒॑ यस्य॒ जुजो॑षो अध्व॒रम् । ह॒व्यं मर्त॑स्य॒ वोळ्ह॑वे ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम जिस यजमान के यज्ञ में हव्य वहन करने का काम स्वीकार कर लेते हो, उसका दूतकर्म करने की भी अभिलाषा करते हो. (६)
EN English Translation
O agni! You also wish to do the messenger of the host in whose yajna you accept the work of carrying the havan. (6)
अ॒स्माकं॑ जोष्यध्व॒रम॒स्माकं॑ य॒ज्ञम॑ङ्गिरः । अ॒स्माकं॑ शृणुधी॒ हव॑म् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अंगिरा अग्नि! तुम हमारे यज्ञ की सेवा करो, हमारे हवि को स्वीकार करो तथा हमारे स्तोत्र को सुनो. (७)
EN English Translation
O Angira Agni! You serve our yajna, accept our glory and listen to our hymns. (7)
परि॑ ते दू॒ळभो॒ रथो॒ऽस्माँ अ॑श्नोतु वि॒श्वतः॑ । येन॒ रक्ष॑सि दा॒शुषः॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम जिस रथ की सहायता से सभी दिशाओं में जाकर हव्य देने वाले यजमान की रक्षा करते हो, तुम्हारा वही दुर्लभ रथ मेरे चारों ओर रहे. (८)
EN English Translation
O agni! With the help of the chariot with which you go in all directions and protect the host who gives the havan, your rare chariot will be around me. (8)
