इन्द्रो॒ रथा॑य प्र॒वतं॑ कृणोति॒ यम॒ध्यस्था॑न्म॒घवा॑ वाज॒यन्त॑म् । यू॒थेव॑ प॒श्वो व्यु॑नोति गो॒पा अरि॑ष्टो याति प्रथ॒मः सिषा॑सन् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
धन के स्वामी इंद्र, जिस अन्नाभिलाषी रथ पर बैठते हैं, उसे हांकते भी हैं. जैसे ग्वाला पशुओं के समूह को हांकता है, उसी प्रकार इंद्र शत्रुओं को भगाते हैं. अपराजित एवं देवश्रेष्ठ इंद्र शत्रुओं के धन को चाहते हुए चलते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
Indra, the lord of wealth, also bows down to the anvilashi chariot on which he sits. Just as the gwala moves a group of animals, so indra drives away the enemies. Aparajit and Devshreshtha Indra walk in wanting the wealth of enemies. (1)
आ प्र द्र॑व हरिवो॒ मा वि वे॑नः॒ पिश॑ङ्गराते अ॒भि नः॑ सचस्व । न॒हि त्वदि॑न्द्र॒ वस्यो॑ अ॒न्यदस्त्य॑मे॒नाँश्चि॒ज्जनि॑वतश्चकर्थ ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे हरि नामक घोड़ों के स्वामी इंद्र! तुम सबके सम्मुख भली प्रकार गमन करो. तुम हमारे प्रति इच्छारहित मत होना. हे विविध धनों के स्वामी! तुम हमारी सेवा स्वीकार करो. हे इंद्र! तुमसे श्रेष्ठ कोई नहीं है. तुम पत्नीरहितों को पत्नीयुक्त करते हो. (२)
EN English Translation
O Indra, lord of horses named Hari! Walk well in front of all of you. Don't you be wishless towards us. O lord of the diverse wealth! You accept our service. O Indra! There is no one better than you. You make the wifeless wives. (2)
उद्यत्सहः॒ सह॑स॒ आज॑निष्ट॒ देदि॑ष्ट॒ इन्द्र॑ इन्द्रि॒याणि॒ विश्वा॑ । प्राचो॑दयत्सु॒दुघा॑ व॒व्रे अ॒न्तर्वि ज्योति॑षा संववृ॒त्वत्तमो॑ऽवः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जब सूर्य का प्रकाश उषा के प्रकाश से उत्पन्न होकर श्रेष्ठ बनता है, तब इंद्र यजमानों को सभी प्रकार का धन देते हैं. वे पर्वत के मध्य से दुधारू गायों को छुड़ाते हैं एवं अपने प्रकाश से ढकने वाले अंधकार को नष्ट करते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
When the sunlight originates from the light of Usha and becomes superior, Indra gives all kinds of wealth to the hosts. They rescue the milch cows from the middle of the mountain and destroy the darkness that is covered by their light. (3)
अन॑वस्ते॒ रथ॒मश्वा॑य तक्ष॒न्त्वष्टा॒ वज्रं॑ पुरुहूत द्यु॒मन्त॑म् । ब्र॒ह्माण॒ इन्द्रं॑ म॒हय॑न्तो अ॒र्कैरव॑र्धय॒न्नह॑ये॒ हन्त॒वा उ॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अनेक जनों द्वारा बुलाए गए इंद्र! ऋभुओं ने तुम्हारे रथ को घोड़ों से जुड़ने योग्य बनाया था एवं त्वष्टा ने तुम्हारे वज्र को चमकाया था. अंगिरावंशीय ऋषियों ने अपने स्तोत्रों द्वारा वृत्र को मारने के लिए तुम्हें उत्तेजित किया था. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra, who has been called by many! The sages made your chariot worthy of connecting with horses and the skin made your thunderbolt shine. The Angirathic sages had incited you to kill Vritar through their hymns. (4)
वृष्णे॒ यत्ते॒ वृष॑णो अ॒र्कमर्चा॒निन्द्र॒ ग्रावा॑णो॒ अदि॑तिः स॒जोषाः॑ । अ॒न॒श्वासो॒ ये प॒वयो॑ऽर॒था इन्द्रे॑षिता अ॒भ्यव॑र्तन्त॒ दस्यू॑न् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे कामवर्षी इंद्र! जब वर्षा करने में समर्थ मरुतों ने तुम्हारी स्तुति की, तब सोम निचोड़ने वाले पत्थर भी प्रसन्नतापूर्वक मिल गए थे. बिना रथ एवं बिना घोड़ों वाले मरुतों ने इंद्र की प्रेरणा पाकर असुरों को पराजित किया था. (५)
EN English Translation
O karyati Indra! When the maruts capable of raining praised you, the stones that were able to squeeze the mon were also happily found. The Maruts without chariots and without horses had defeated the asuras by taking inspiration from Indra. (5)
प्र ते॒ पूर्वा॑णि॒ कर॑णानि वोचं॒ प्र नूत॑ना मघव॒न्या च॒कर्थ॑ । शक्ती॑वो॒ यद्वि॒भरा॒ रोद॑सी उ॒भे जय॑न्न॒पो मन॑वे॒ दानु॑चित्राः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे धन के स्वामी इंद्र! हम तुम्हारे पुराने और नए साहसपूर्ण कार्यो की स्तुति करते हैं. तुमने वे कर्म किए थे. हे वज्रवाले इंद्र! तुम धरती-आकाश को वश में करते हुए मनुष्यों के लिए विचित्र जलों को धारण करते हो. (६)
EN English Translation
O Lord of wealth Indra! We praise your old and new courageous deeds. You did those deeds. O Indra of Vajra! You possess strange waters for men, subduing the earth and the sky. (6)
तदिन्नु ते॒ कर॑णं दस्म वि॒प्राहिं॒ यद्घ्नन्नोजो॒ अत्रामि॑मीथाः । शुष्ण॑स्य चि॒त्परि॑ मा॒या अ॑गृभ्णाः प्रपि॒त्वं यन्नप॒ दस्यू॑ँरसेधः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सुंदर एवं बुद्धिमान् इंद्र! तुमने वृत्र को मारकर जो अपनी शक्ति को सब पर प्रकट किया है वह निश्चित रूप से तुम्हारा कर्म था. हे इंद्र! तुमने शुष्ण असुर की युवती पत्नी को अपने अधिकार में किया एवं युद्ध में शत्रुओं को बाधा पहुंचाई. (७)
EN English Translation
O beautiful and wise Indra! What you have manifested your power to all by killing the vritra was certainly your karma. O Indra! You took over the young wife of Shushna Asura and interrupted the enemies in the war. (7)
त्वम॒पो यद॑वे तु॒र्वशा॒यार॑मयः सु॒दुघाः॑ पा॒र इ॑न्द्र । उ॒ग्रम॑यात॒मव॑हो ह॒ कुत्सं॒ सं ह॒ यद्वा॑मु॒शनार॑न्त दे॒वाः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुमने नदियों के किनारे खड़े होकर यदु और तुर्वश नामक राजाओं को ऐसा जल प्रदान किया जो वनस्पतियों को बढ़ाने वाला था. हे इंद्र! तुम और कुत्स आक्रमणकारी शुष्ण से लड़ने गए थे. भयानक शुष्ण को मारकर तुमने कुत्स को घर पहुंचाया. तब उशना कवि के साथ सभी देवों ने तुम्हारा स्वागत किया था. (८)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You stood on the banks of the rivers and provided the kings named Yadu and Turvash with water that was going to increase the vegetation. O Indra! You and The Dogs went to fight the invader Shushna. You killed the terrible shushna and brought the dogs home. Then all the gods along with ushana poet welcomed you. (8)
इन्द्रा॑कुत्सा॒ वह॑माना॒ रथे॒ना वा॒मत्या॒ अपि॒ कर्णे॑ वहन्तु । निः षी॑म॒द्भ्यो धम॑थो॒ निः ष॒धस्था॑न्म॒घोनो॑ हृ॒दो व॑रथ॒स्तमां॑सि ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र एवं कुत्स! एक रथ पर बैठे हुए तुम दोनों को घोड़े यजमान के पास ले जावें. तुमने शुष्ण को जल से बाहर निकाला था एवं धनी यजमानों के हृदयों को ढकने वाला अंधकार दूर किया था. (९)
EN English Translation
O Indra and Kutsa! Sitting on a chariot, take you both to the horse host. You took Shushna out of the water and removed the darkness that covered the hearts of the rich hosts. (9)
वात॑स्य यु॒क्तान्सु॒युज॑श्चि॒दश्वा॑न्क॒विश्चि॑दे॒षो अ॑जगन्नव॒स्युः । विश्वे॑ ते॒ अत्र॑ म॒रुतः॒ सखा॑य॒ इन्द्र॒ ब्रह्मा॑णि॒ तवि॑षीमवर्धन् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अवस्यु नामक विद्वान् ऋषि ने वायु की गति से चलने वाले एवं रथ में ठीक से जुड़े हुए घोड़ों को प्राप्त किया था. हे इंद्र! अवस्यु के सभी मित्र स्तोताओं ने तुम्हारा बल अपनी स्तुतियों द्वारा बढ़ाया. (१०)
EN English Translation
The sage, a scholar named Avasyu, had obtained horses moving at the speed of wind and properly attached to the chariot. O Indra! All the friends of The Avasyu, the Psalms, increased your strength by their praises. (10)
सूर॑श्चि॒द्रथं॒ परि॑तक्म्यायां॒ पूर्वं॑ कर॒दुप॑रं जूजु॒वांस॑म् । भर॑च्च॒क्रमेत॑शः॒ सं रि॑णाति पु॒रो दध॑त्सनिष्यति॒ क्रतुं॑ नः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र ने संग्राम में एतश ऋषि के साथ लड़ने वाले सूर्य का तेज चलने वाला रथ गतिहीन कर दिया था. एतश के कल्याण के लिए इंद्र ने पहले सूर्य के रथ का एक पहिया छीन लिया था. उसीसे इंद्र असुरों का नाश करते हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
Indra had made the sun's fast-moving chariot motionless fighting with the sage Etash in the battle. For the welfare of Etash, Indra had earlier snatched a wheel of the chariot of the Sun. From this Indra destroys the asuras. (11)
आयं ज॑ना अभि॒चक्षे॑ जगा॒मेन्द्रः॒ सखा॑यं सु॒तसो॑ममि॒च्छन् । वद॒न्ग्रावाव॒ वेदिं॑ भ्रियाते॒ यस्य॑ जी॒रम॑ध्व॒र्यव॒श्चर॑न्ति ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मनुष्यो! सोम निचोड़ने वाले अपने मित्र यजमानों की इच्छा करते हुए इंद्र तुम्हें धन देने के लिए आते हैं. अध्वर्यु जिस सोमरस निचोड़ने के साधन पत्थर को चलाते हैं, वह शब्द करता हुआ यज्ञवेदी पर पहुंचता है. (१२)
EN English Translation
O men! Indra comes to give you money while wishing for his friend hosts who squeeze soma. The somras which the somras, which run the stone to squeeze, reaches the yajnavedi with the word. (12)
ये चा॒कन॑न्त चा॒कन॑न्त॒ नू ते मर्ता॑ अमृत॒ मो ते अंह॒ आर॑न् । वा॒व॒न्धि यज्यू॑ँरु॒त तेषु॑ धे॒ह्योजो॒ जने॑षु॒ येषु॑ ते॒ स्याम॑ ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरणरहित इंद्र! धन-प्राप्ति के लिए जो लोग बार-बार तुम्हारी अभिलाषा करते हैं, उस मरणशील व्यक्ति के पास कोई पाप नहीं जाता. तुम यजमानों पर कृपा करो. जिन लोगों के बीच हम स्तुति कर रहे हैं, उन्हें तुम अपना बनाओ एवं बल दो. (१३)
EN English Translation
O mortal Indra! Those who desire you again and again for the sake of wealth, no sin goes to that dying person. Please be kind to the hosts. Make the people among whom we are praising, make them your own and give strength. (13)
