वि॒दा दि॒वो वि॒ष्यन्नद्रि॑मु॒क्थैरा॑य॒त्या उ॒षसो॑ अ॒र्चिनो॑ गुः । अपा॑वृत व्र॒जिनी॒रुत्स्व॑र्गा॒द्वि दुरो॒ मानु॑षीर्दे॒व आ॑वः ॥ (१)

इंद्र ने अंगिरागोत्रीय ऋषियों की स्तुति सुनकर वज्र फेंका. इससे आने वाली उषा की किरणें सभी जगह फैल गई. अंधकार के समूह को समाप्त करके सूर्य प्रकाशित होते हैं एवं मानवों के द्वार खोल देते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
Indra threw the thunderbolt when he heard the praises of the Angiragotrian sages. This spread the rays of the incoming Usha all over the place. By eliminating the group of darkness, the sun is illuminated and opens the doors of human beings. (1)
वि सूर्यो॑ अ॒मतिं॒ न श्रियं॑ सा॒दोर्वाद्गवां॑ मा॒ता जा॑न॒ती गा॑त् । धन्व॑र्णसो न॒द्य१॒ः॑ खादो॑अर्णाः॒ स्थूणे॑व॒ सुमि॑ता दृंहत॒ द्यौः ॥ (२)

सूर्य पदार्थो के भिन्न रूप के समान ही परिवर्तितरूप धारण करते रहते हैं. किरणों की माता उषा सूर्योदय की बात जानती हुई आकाश से उतरती है. किनारों को तोड़ने वाली नदियां जल से भरकर बहती हैं. स्वर्ग घर में गड़े हुए लकड़ी के खंभे के समान स्थिर हो जाता है. (२)
EN English Translation
The sun continues to have the same change form as the different form of the substances. Usha, the mother of the rays, comes down from the sky knowing the sunrise. The rivers that break the banks flow with water. Heaven becomes as stable as a wooden pillar in the house. (2)
अ॒स्मा उ॒क्थाय॒ पर्व॑तस्य॒ गर्भो॑ म॒हीनां॑ ज॒नुषे॑ पू॒र्व्याय॑ । वि पर्व॑तो॒ जिही॑त॒ साध॑त॒ द्यौरा॒विवा॑सन्तो दसयन्त॒ भूम॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
महान् स्तुतियों का निर्माण करने वाले प्राचीन ऋषियों के समान हम स्तुति करते हैं तो बादलों से जल बरसता है. आकाश अपना कार्य पूर्ण करता है इसलिए पानी बरसता है. यज्ञकर्म करने वाले अंगिरागोत्रीय ऋषि बहुत अधिक थक जाते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
Like the ancient sages who created great praises, when we praise, water is poured out of the clouds. The sky completes its work so the water rains. The Angiragotrian sages who perform yajnakarma get very tired. (3)
सू॒क्तेभि॑र्वो॒ वचो॑भिर्दे॒वजु॑ष्टै॒रिन्द्रा॒ न्व१॒॑ग्नी अव॑से हु॒वध्यै॑ । उ॒क्थेभि॒र्हि ष्मा॑ क॒वयः॑ सुय॒ज्ञा आ॒विवा॑सन्तो म॒रुतो॒ यज॑न्ति ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र एवं अग्नि! हम लोग अपनी रक्षा के लिए तुम दोनों को देवों द्वारा स्वीकार करने योग्य उत्तम स्तुतियों से बुलाते हैं. शोभन यज्ञ करने वाले ज्ञानीजन मरुतों के समान यज्ञसेवा करते हुए तुम दोनों को प्रसन्न करने का प्रयत्न करते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra and Agni! We call you both with the best praises accepted by the gods to protect ourselves. The wise men who perform shobhan yajna try to please both of you by performing yajna seva like the maruts. (4)
एतो॒ न्व१॒॑द्य सु॒ध्यो॒३॒॑ भवा॑म॒ प्र दु॒च्छुना॑ मिनवामा॒ वरी॑यः । आ॒रे द्वेषां॑सि सनु॒तर्द॑धा॒माया॑म॒ प्राञ्चो॒ यज॑मान॒मच्छ॑ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे देवो! यज्ञ के दिन तुम विशेष रूप से हमारे समीप आओ. इस दिन हम शुभकर्मो वाले बनते हैं, शत्रुओं को पराजित करते हैं, छिपे हुए शत्रुओं को समाप्त करते हैं एवं यजमानों के सामने जाते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Oh, God! On the day of the yajna you especially come close to us. On this day, we become well-intentioned, defeat enemies, eliminate hidden enemies and go before the hosts. (5)
एता॒ धियं॑ कृ॒णवा॑मा सखा॒योऽप॒ या मा॒ताँ ऋ॑णु॒त व्र॒जं गोः । यया॒ मनु॑र्विशिशि॒प्रं जि॒गाय॒ यया॑ व॒णिग्व॒ङ्कुरापा॒ पुरी॑षम् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्रो! आओ. हम लोग मिलकर स्तुति करें. इन स्तुतियों से चुराई गई गायों के भवन का द्वार खुलता है. इन्हीं से मनु ने विशिशिप्र नामक असुर को जीता था एवं इन्हीं की सहायता से वणिक तुल्य कक्षीवान् ने वन में जाकर जल पाया था. (६)
EN English Translation
Oh, my friends! Come. Let us praise together. These hymns open the door to the stolen cows' building. From these, Manu had won the asura named Vishishitra and with the help of them, the vanik equivalent Kandivan went to the forest and got water. (6)
अनू॑नो॒दत्र॒ हस्त॑यतो॒ अद्रि॒रार्च॒न्येन॒ दश॑ मा॒सो नव॑ग्वाः । ऋ॒तं य॒ती स॒रमा॒ गा अ॑विन्द॒द्विश्वा॑नि स॒त्याङ्गि॑राश्चकार ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इस यज्ञ में ऋत्विजों द्वारा सोमलता कूटने के लिए काम में आने वाले पत्थर शब्द करते हैं. इन्हीं पत्थरों की सहायता से निचुड़े हुए सोम द्वारा नवग्व एवं दशग्व यज्ञ करने वाले अत्रिवंशी ऋषियों ने इंद्र की पूजा की थी. सरमा ने यज्ञ में आकर गायों को प्राप्त कराया एवं अंगिरागोत्रीय ऋषियों के स्तोत्र सफल हुए. EN English Translation
In this yajna, the words stones used by the ritvijas to code somlata are used. With the help of these stones, indra was worshipped by the attrivanshi sages who performed navgiv and dashgiv yajna by the unscrupulous som. Sarma came to the yagna and got the cows and the hymns of the Angiragotrian sages were successful. (7)
विश्वे॑ अ॒स्या व्युषि॒ माहि॑नायाः॒ सं यद्गोभि॒रङ्गि॑रसो॒ नव॑न्त । उत्स॑ आसां पर॒मे स॒धस्थ॑ ऋ॒तस्य॑ प॒था स॒रमा॑ विद॒द्गाः ॥ (८)

इस पूजनीया उषा का प्रकाश फैलते ही अंगिरागोत्रीय ऋषियों ने गायों को प्राप्त किया. गोशाला में दूध दुहा जाने लगा, क्योंकि सत्य मार्ग से सरमा ने गायों को देख लिया था. (८)
EN English Translation
As soon as the light of this revered Usha spread, the Angiragotrian sages received the cows. The milk started to be milked in the goshala, because Sarma had seen the cows from Satya Marg. (8)
आ सूर्यो॑ यातु स॒प्ताश्वः॒ क्षेत्रं॒ यद॑स्योर्वि॒या दी॑र्घया॒थे । र॒घुः श्ये॒नः प॑तय॒दन्धो॒ अच्छा॒ युवा॑ क॒विर्दी॑दय॒द्गोषु॒ गच्छ॑न् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सात घोड़ों के स्वामी सूर्य हमारे सामने आवें. सूर्य की लंबी यात्रा का क्षेत्र दीर्घ-गमन अपेक्षित करता है. सूर्य तीब्रगामी श्येन के समान हव्य के समीप आते हैं. अतिशय युवा एवं ज्ञानी सूर्य अपनी किरणों के साथ चलते हुए विशेषरूप से प्रकाशित होते हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
May the sun, the swami of the seven horses, appear before us. The region of the Sun's long journey requires long-distance. The Sun comes close to Havya like fast-moving Sheen. The very young and knowledgeable Sun, moving with its rays, is specially illuminated. (9)
आ सूर्यो॑ अरुहच्छु॒क्रमर्णोऽयु॑क्त॒ यद्ध॒रितो॑ वी॒तपृ॑ष्ठाः । उ॒द्ना न नाव॑मनयन्त॒ धीरा॑ आशृण्व॒तीरापो॑ अ॒र्वाग॑तिष्ठन् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सूर्य दीप्तिशाली जल पर आरूढ़ होते हैं. सूर्य जब अपने रथ में सुंदर पीठ वाले घोड़ों को जोड़ते हैं, तब धीर यजमान उन्हें जल पर चलने वाली नाव के समान ले आते हैं एवं सूर्य की आज्ञा मानने वाली जलराशि झुक जाती है. (१०)
EN English Translation
The sun is covered on the radiant water. When the sun adds horses with beautiful backs to its chariot, the dhir host brings them like a boat on the water and the water body obeying the sun is bowed down. (10)
धियं॑ वो अ॒प्सु द॑धिषे स्व॒र्षां ययात॑र॒न्दश॑ मा॒सो नव॑ग्वाः । अ॒या धि॒या स्या॑म दे॒वगो॑पा अ॒या धि॒या तु॑तुर्या॒मात्यंहः॑ ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे देवो! हम तुम्हारी सब कुछ देने वाली स्तुति को जलप्राप्ति निमित्त बोल रहे हैं. नवग्व यज्ञ करने वाले अत्रिगोत्रीय ऋषियों ने इन्हीं के सहारे दस महीने बिताए थे. इन्हीं स्तुतियों के कारण हम देवों द्वारा रक्षित हों एवं पापों को लांघ सकें. (११)
EN English Translation
Oh, God! We are speaking to the praise of your giving all for water. The Atrigotrian sages who performed the Navgava Yajna had spent ten months on the basis of them. Because of these praises, we may be protected by the gods and can overcome sins. (11)
