प्र श्या॑वाश्व धृष्णु॒यार्चा॑ म॒रुद्भि॒रृक्व॑भिः । ये अ॑द्रो॒घम॑नुष्व॒धं श्रवो॒ मद॑न्ति य॒ज्ञियाः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋषि श्यावाश्व! तुम धीरतापूर्वक स्तुतिपात्र मरुतों की पूजा करो. वे यज्ञ के पात्र हैं एवं प्रतिदिन हविरूपी अन्न को निर्बाध रूप में पाकर प्रसन्न होते है. (१)
EN English Translation
This sage, Sheyavashva! You should patiently worship the saints of praise. They are the characters of yajna and are happy to have the food in an uninterrupted form every day. (1)
ते हि स्थि॒रस्य॒ शव॑सः॒ सखा॑यः॒ सन्ति॑ धृष्णु॒या । ते याम॒न्ना धृ॑ष॒द्विन॒स्त्मना॑ पान्ति॒ शश्व॑तः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वे धीर हैं एवं स्थिर शक्ति के मित्र हैं. वे मार्ग में भ्रमण करने वाले हैं एवं अपने आप हमारी संतान की रक्षा करते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
They are patient and friends of stable power. They are going to travel along the way and protect our children on their own. (2)
ते स्य॒न्द्रासो॒ नोक्षणोऽति॑ ष्कन्दन्ति॒ शर्व॑रीः । म॒रुता॒मधा॒ महो॑ दि॒वि क्ष॒मा च॑ मन्महे ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
गतिशील एवं जल बरसाने वाले मरुद्गण रात्रियों को लांघते हुए हमारे पास आते हैं, इसी कारण मरुतों का तेज धरती एवं आकाश में व्याप्त तथा स्तुति योग्य है. (३)
EN English Translation
The moving and water-raining deserts come to us, crossing the nights, which is why the brightness of the maruts pervades the earth and the sky and deserves praise. (3)
म॒रुत्सु॑ वो दधीमहि॒ स्तोमं॑ य॒ज्ञं च॑ धृष्णु॒या । विश्वे॒ ये मानु॑षा यु॒गा पान्ति॒ मर्त्यं॑ रि॒षः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अध्वर्यु एवं होताओ! तुम लोग धीरतापूर्वक मरुतों की स्तुति करते एवं हव्य देते हो. इसका क्या कारण है? केवल यही कारण है कि वे मनुष्यों को हिंसक शत्रुओं से बचाते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
He is a scholar and be! You patiently praise the maruts and give greetings. What is the reason for this? That's the only reason why they protect humans from violent enemies. (4)
अर्ह॑न्तो॒ ये सु॒दान॑वो॒ नरो॒ असा॑मिशवसः । प्र य॒ज्ञं य॒ज्ञिये॑भ्यो दि॒वो अ॑र्चा म॒रुद्भ्यः॑ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे होताओ! पूजा योग्य, शोभन दान वाले, यज्ञकर्म के नेता, पर्याप्त शक्तिशाली यज्ञ के पात्र एवं दीप्तिशाली मरुतों की अर्चना यज्ञ साधनों द्वारा करो. (५)
EN English Translation
Hey, it was! Worshipable, gifted, leader of yajnakarma, characters of yajna, a sufficiently powerful yagna pot and the bright maruts by means of yajna. (5)
आ रु॒क्मैरा यु॒धा नर॑ ऋ॒ष्वा ऋ॒ष्टीर॑सृक्षत । अन्वे॑ना॒ँ अह॑ वि॒द्युतो॑ म॒रुतो॒ जज्झ॑तीरिव भा॒नुर॑र्त॒ त्मना॑ दि॒वः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वर्षा करने वाले महान् मरुद्गण चमकने वाले आभरणों एवं आयुधों से सुशोभित हैं तथा मेघ का भेदन करने के लिए आयुध चलाते हैं. कल-कल बहने वाले जल के समान बिजली मरुतों के पीछे चलती है एवं उसका प्रकाश स्वयं ही इधर-उधर फैलता है. (६)
EN English Translation
The great raining deserts are adorned with glowing fillers and weapons and wield armaments to penetrate the cloud. Like the water flowing yesterday, electricity runs behind the maruts and its light spreads around on its own. (6)
ये वा॑वृ॒धन्त॒ पार्थि॑वा॒ य उ॒राव॒न्तरि॑क्ष॒ आ । वृ॒जने॑ वा न॒दीनां॑ स॒धस्थे॑ वा म॒हो दि॒वः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो मरुद्गण धरती एवं आकाश में वृद्धि प्राप्त करते हैं, वे नदियों की धाराओं एवं महान् स्वर्ग के स्थान में उन्नति करें. (७)
EN English Translation
Let the deserts who receive growth in the earth and the sky progress in the streams of rivers and in the place of the great heaven. (7)
शर्धो॒ मारु॑त॒मुच्छं॑स स॒त्यश॑वस॒मृभ्व॑सम् । उ॒त स्म॒ ते शु॒भे नरः॒ प्र स्य॒न्द्रा यु॑जत॒ त्मना॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्तोताओ! मरुतों के अत्यंत विस्तृत एवं सत्य पर आधारित उत्तम बल की स्तुति करो. वर्षा करने वाले मरुद्गण जल बरसाने के लिए अपने आप सबकी रक्षा के विचार से परिश्रम करते हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
This stotao! Praise the very wide and truth-based noble force of the Maruts. The rainy deserts work hard with the idea of protecting everyone on their own to rain water. (8)
उ॒त स्म॒ ते परु॑ष्ण्या॒मूर्णा॑ वसत शु॒न्ध्यवः॑ । उ॒त प॒व्या रथा॑ना॒मद्रिं॑ भिन्द॒न्त्योज॑सा ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
परुष्णी नामक नदी में रहने वाले मरुद्गण सबको शुद्ध करने वाले प्रकाश से घिरे रहते हैं. वे रथ के पहिए की नेमि एवं अपनी शक्ति द्वारा बादल को भेदते हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
The deserts living in the river called Parushni are surrounded by the light that purifies everyone. They penetrate the cloud by the name of the wheel of the chariot and their power. (9)
आप॑थयो॒ विप॑थ॒योऽन्त॑स्पथा॒ अनु॑पथाः । ए॒तेभि॒र्मह्यं॒ नाम॑भिर्य॒ज्ञं वि॑ष्टा॒र ओ॑हते ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अभिमुख चलने वाले, विमुख चलने वाले, प्रतिकूल मार्ग में चलने वाले एवं अनुकूल मार्ग में चलने वाले इन चारों नामों वाले मरुद्गण विस्तृत होकर हमारे यज्ञ को धारण करें. (१०)
EN English Translation
The deserts with these four names, who walk in a directional, who walk in a disoriented path, walk in the opposite path and walk in a favorable path, should elaborate and hold our yajna. (10)
अधा॒ नरो॒ न्यो॑ह॒तेऽधा॑ नि॒युत॑ ओहते । अधा॒ पारा॑वता॒ इति॑ चि॒त्रा रू॒पाणि॒ दर्श्या॑ ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वर्षा आदि इष्ट कार्यो के नेता देवगण संसार को धारण करते हैं. सबको मिलाने वाले जगत् को धारण करते हैं. दूरवर्ती आकाश के ग्रह, तारों आदि को धारण करने वाले देवों का रूप विचित्र एवं दर्शनीय है. (११)
EN English Translation
The devas, the leaders of the desired works like rain, etc., hold the world. Those who unite all hold the world. The form of the gods holding the planets, stars, etc. of the distant sky is strange and visible. (11)
छ॒न्दः॒स्तुभः॑ कुभ॒न्यव॒ उत्स॒मा की॒रिणो॑ नृतुः । ते मे॒ के चि॒न्न ता॒यव॒ ऊमा॑ आसन्दृ॒शि त्वि॒षे ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
छंदों द्वारा स्तुति करने वाले एवं जल के अभिलाषी स्तोताओं ने मरुतों की प्रार्थना की एवं प्यासे गोतम के लिए कुआं बनवाया. मरुतों में से कुछ ने चोर के समान छिपकर हमारी रक्षा की थी एवं कुछ स्पष्ट रूप से हमारी शक्ति बढ़ाने में कारण बने थे. (१२)
EN English Translation
The hymns praising through verses and desiring of water prayed to the maruts and built wells for the thirsty gotam. Some of the maruts had protected us by hiding like thieves and some had clearly caused us to increase our power. (12)
य ऋ॒ष्वा ऋ॒ष्टिवि॑द्युतः क॒वयः॒ सन्ति॑ वे॒धसः॑ । तमृ॑षे॒ मारु॑तं ग॒णं न॑म॒स्या र॒मया॑ गि॒रा ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे श्यावाश्व ऋषि! तुम दर्शनीय, विद्युतरूपी आयुध धारण करने वाले, बुद्धिमान् एवं सबके निर्माता मरुद्गणों की रमणीय वाक्यों द्वारा स्तुति करो. (१३)
EN English Translation
This is the sage! You praise the visible, the electric ordnance-wearing, the wise and the creator of all, by delightful sentences. (13)
अच्छ॑ ऋषे॒ मारु॑तं ग॒णं दा॒ना मि॒त्रं न यो॒षणा॑ । दि॒वो वा॑ धृष्णव॒ ओज॑सा स्तु॒ता धी॒भिरि॑षण्यत ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋषि! तुम हव्य देते हुए एवं स्तुतियां करते हुए मरुतों के समीप आदित्य के समान जाओ. हे शक्ति द्वारा शत्रुओं को हराने वाले मरुतो! तुम हमारी स्तुतियां सुनकर स्वर्गलोक से हमारे यज्ञ में आओ. (१४)
EN English Translation
O sage! You go to the maruts like Aditya, giving greetings and praising them. O Maruto who defeats enemies by power! You hear our praises and come to our yajna from paradise. (14)
नू म॑न्वा॒न ए॑षां दे॒वाँ अच्छा॒ न व॒क्षणा॑ । दा॒ना स॑चेत सू॒रिभि॒र्याम॑श्रुतेभिर॒ञ्जिभिः॑ ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्तोता मरुतों को स्तुति द्वारा शीघ्र प्राप्त करके अन्य देवों को पाने की अभिलाषा नहीं करते. वे ज्ञानी, शीघ्रगतिशील के रूप में प्रसिद्ध एवं फल देने वाले मरुतों से दान पाते हैं. (१५)
EN English Translation
The Stotas do not wish to receive the Marutas quickly by praising them and get to other gods. They are known as wise, fast-paced and receive donations from fruit-bearing maruts. (15)
प्र ये मे॑ बन्ध्वे॒षे गां वोच॑न्त सू॒रयः॒ पृश्निं॑ वोचन्त मा॒तर॑म् । अधा॑ पि॒तर॑मि॒ष्मिणं॑ रु॒द्रं वो॑चन्त॒ शिक्व॑सः ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जब मैं अपने बंधुओं को खोज रहा था, तब समर्थ मरुतों ने मुझे बताया कि पृश्नि उनकी माता है. उन्होंने अन्न के स्वामी रुद्र को अपना पिता बताया. (१६)
EN English Translation
While I was looking for my brothers, the Samarth Maruts told me that the earth was their mother. He described Rudra, the lord of the grain, as his father. (16)
स॒प्त मे॑ स॒प्त शा॒किन॒ एक॑मेका श॒ता द॑दुः । य॒मुना॑या॒मधि॑ श्रु॒तमुद्राधो॒ गव्यं॑ मृजे॒ नि राधो॒ अश्व्यं॑ मृजे ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
उनचास संख्या वाले शक्तिशाली मरुतों ने एकत्र होकर मुझे सैकड़ों गाएं दीं. मरुतों द्वारा दिए गए गोरूप अथवा अश्वरूप धन को हमने गंगा तट पर प्राप्त किया. (१७)
EN English Translation
Forty-nine powerful maruts gathered together and gave me hundreds of songs. We received the gorup or ashwarupa money given by the maruts on the banks of the Ganga. (17)
