यश्चि॒केत॒ स सु॒क्रतु॑र्देव॒त्रा स ब्र॑वीतु नः । वरु॑णो॒ यस्य॑ दर्श॒तो मि॒त्रो वा॒ वन॑ते॒ गिरः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो शोभन कर्म वाला स्तोता देवों में श्रेष्ठ तुम दोनों की स्तुति जानता है एवं सुंदर तुम दोनों-मित्र व वरुण-जिसकी स्तुतियों को स्वीकार करते हो, वही हमें स्तुति के विषय में बतावे. (१)
EN English Translation
The hymn of shobhan karma, who knows the praise of both of you, the best of the gods, and the beautiful one whom you both—friends and Varuna—accept the praises, let us know about the praise. (1)
ता हि श्रेष्ठ॑वर्चसा॒ राजा॑ना दीर्घ॒श्रुत्त॑मा । ता सत्प॑ती ऋता॒वृध॑ ऋ॒तावा॑ना॒ जने॑जने ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
प्रशंसनीय तेज वाले, स्वामी, बहुत दूर से पुकार सुनने वाले, यजमानों के रक्षक एवं यज्ञ की वृद्धि करने वाले मित्र व वरुण सभी स्तोताओं के कल्याण के लिए घूमते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
Those with admirable speed, the masters, those who hear the call from far away, the protectors of hosts and the friends who increase the yagna and Varuna roam around for the welfare of all the hymns. (2)
ता वा॑मिया॒नोऽव॑से॒ पूर्वा॒ उप॑ ब्रुवे॒ सचा॑ । स्वश्वा॑सः॒ सु चे॒तुना॒ वाजा॑ँ अ॒भि प्र दा॒वने॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पुरातन मित्र एवं वरुण! मैं तुम्हारे समीप पहुंचकर अपनी रक्षा के लिए प्रार्थना करता हूं. तुम शोभन ज्ञान वालों की स्तुति मैं उत्तम घोड़े एवं विविध अन्न पाने के लिए करता हूं. (३)
EN English Translation
O old friend and Varuna! I come near you and pray for my protection. I praise you who have good knowledge for getting the best horses and various food. (3)
मि॒त्रो अं॒होश्चि॒दादु॒रु क्षया॑य गा॒तुं व॑नते । मि॒त्रस्य॒ हि प्र॒तूर्व॑तः सुम॒तिरस्ति॑ विध॒तः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मित्र पापी स्तोता को भी गृहस्वामी बनने का उपाय बताते हैं. यदि सेवक हिंसा करने वाला हो, तब भी मित्र शोभन बुद्धि रखते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
Friends also tell the sinners to stota the way to become a homeowner. Even if the servant is a perpetrator of violence, the friend has a good sense of wisdom. (4)
व॒यं मि॒त्रस्याव॑सि॒ स्याम॑ स॒प्रथ॑स्तमे । अ॒ने॒हस॒स्त्वोत॑यः स॒त्रा वरु॑णशेषसः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम यजमान मित्र की परम प्रसिद्ध रक्षा के अंतर्गत हों. हे मित्र! पापरहित हम तुम्हारे द्वारा रक्षित होकर शीघ्र ही वरुण को पुत्र तुल्य प्रिय बनें. (५)
EN English Translation
We are under the ultimate famous defense of host friend. Oh my friend! Sinless we will be protected by you and soon become as dear to Varuna as a son. (5)
यु॒वं मि॑त्रे॒मं जनं॒ यत॑थः॒ सं च॑ नयथः । मा म॒घोनः॒ परि॑ ख्यतं॒ मो अ॒स्माक॒मृषी॑णां गोपी॒थे न॑ उरुष्यतम् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्र व वरुण! तुम मुझ स्तोता के पास आकर मेरी इच्छा पूरी करो. मुझ हव्य धारण करने वाले का तुम त्याग न करना एवं हम ऋषियों तथा पुत्रों को मत छोड़ना. सोमयज्ञ में हमारी रक्षा करना. (६)
EN English Translation
Oh my friend and Varun! Come to my stota and fulfill my wish. Do not forsake the one who holds me, and do not forsake us sages and sons. Protecting us in somayagna. (6)
