य एक॒ इद्धव्य॑श्चर्षणी॒नामिन्द्रं॒ तं गी॒र्भिर॒भ्य॑र्च आ॒भिः । यः पत्य॑ते वृष॒भो वृष्ण्या॑वान्स॒त्यः सत्वा॑ पुरुमा॒यः सह॑स्वान् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो एकमात्र इंद्र प्रजाओं द्वारा विपत्तियों में बुलाने योग्य हैं, जो स्तोताओं की पुकार सुनकर दौड़े आते हैं, जो कामवर्षी, शक्तिशाली, सत्यभाषी, शत्रुनाशक, विशाल बुद्धि वाले एवं शत्रुपराभवकारी हैं, उन्हें हम इन स्तुतियों द्वारा बुलाते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
We call those who are the only Indras who are called into adversities by the people, who come running after hearing the call of the Psalms, who are lustful, powerful, truthful, hostile, fierce-minded and hostile, are called by these praises. (1)
तमु॑ नः॒ पूर्वे॑ पि॒तरो॒ नव॑ग्वाः स॒प्त विप्रा॑सो अ॒भि वा॒जय॑न्तः । न॒क्ष॒द्दा॒भं ततु॑रिं पर्वते॒ष्ठामद्रो॑घवाचं म॒तिभिः॒ शवि॑ष्ठम् ॥ (२)

नौ महीने वाला यज्ञ करने वाले, बुद्धिमान्, हमारे सप्त अंगिरा आदि पूर्व पुरुषों ने आक्रमणकारी शत्रुओं का दमन करने वाले, गतिसंपन्न, अतिक्रमणहीन आदेश वाले तथा पर्वतों पर स्थित इंद्र को अन्न का स्वामी बनाकर स्तुतियां कीं. (२)
EN English Translation
The former men, who performed the nine-month-long yagna, the wise, our sapta angira, etc., praised Indra, the one who oppressed the invading enemies, the one who oppressed the invading enemies, the one with motionless, untractioned command and indra, who was on the mountains, as the lord of food. (2)
तमी॑मह॒ इन्द्र॑मस्य रा॒यः पु॑रु॒वीर॑स्य नृ॒वतः॑ पुरु॒क्षोः । यो अस्कृ॑धोयुर॒जरः॒ स्व॑र्वा॒न्तमा भ॑र हरिवो माद॒यध्यै॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम इंद्र से बहुत पुत्र-पौत्रों सहित, अनेक सेवकों सहित, विविध पशुओं से युक्त, सदा रहने वाला, नाशरहित एवं सुख देने वाला धन मांगते हैं. हे हरि नामक घोड़ों के स्वामी इंद्र! तुम हमारे सुख के लिए हमें वह धन दो. (३)
EN English Translation
We ask Indra for money from Indra, including many sons and grandsons, many servants, with diverse animals, perennial, non-perishable and comforting. O Indra, lord of horses named Hari! You give us that wealth for our happiness. (3)
तन्नो॒ वि वो॑चो॒ यदि॑ ते पु॒रा चि॑ज्जरि॒तार॑ आन॒शुः सु॒म्नमि॑न्द्र । कस्ते॑ भा॒गः किं वयो॑ दुध्र खिद्वः॒ पुरु॑हूत पुरूवसोऽसुर॒घ्नः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम्हारे पुराने स्तोताओं ने जिस सुख को प्राप्त किया था, उसे हमें भी बताओ. हे दुर्धर शत्रुओं को दुःख देने वाले बहुतों द्वारा बुलाए हुए, असुरनाशक एवं अधिक संपत्ति वाले इंद्र! तुम्हारे लिए कौन सा भाग एवं हव्य निश्चित किया गया है? (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Tell us also the happiness that your old stotas had attained. O Indra, who has been called by many who have hurt the evil enemies, the assurses and the possessors of more wealth! What part and direction has been fixed for you? (4)
तं पृ॒च्छन्ती॒ वज्र॑हस्तं रथे॒ष्ठामिन्द्रं॒ वेपी॒ वक्व॑री॒ यस्य॒ नू गीः । तु॒वि॒ग्रा॒भं तु॑विकू॒र्मिं र॑भो॒दां गा॒तुमि॑षे॒ नक्ष॑ते॒ तुम्र॒मच्छ॑ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यज्ञकर्म करने वाले एवं गुणवर्णनयुक्त वाणी वाले यजमान वज्रधारी, रथ पर बैठने वाले, अनेक यज्ञों को स्वीकार करने वाले एवं अनेक यज्ञों के करने हेतु शक्ति देने वाले इंद्र की पूजा करते हैं. वह यजमान सुख प्राप्त करके शत्रु को ललकारता है. (५)
EN English Translation
The yagyakas and the hosts of the virtuous voice worship Indra, the vajradhari, those who sit on the chariot, those who accept many yagnas and give the power to perform many yajnas. He challenges the enemy by attaining host pleasures. (5)
अ॒या ह॒ त्यं मा॒यया॑ वावृधा॒नं म॑नो॒जुवा॑ स्वतवः॒ पर्व॑तेन । अच्यु॑ता चिद्वीळि॒ता स्वो॑जो रु॒जो वि दृ॒ळ्हा धृ॑ष॒ता वि॑रप्शिन् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्वयं शक्तिशाली इंद्र! तुमने मन में समान गतिशील व अनेक धारों वाले वज्र द्वारा माया के सहारे बढ़ने वाले वृत्र को नष्ट किया. हे शोभन-तेज वाले एवं महान् इंद्र! तुमने उसी तेजस्वी वज्र द्वारा विनाशरहित, दृढ़ एवं अशिथिल शत्रुनगरियों को तोड़ा. (६)
EN English Translation
O himself mighty Indra! You destroyed the circle that grew with maya by the same movement in the mind and a thunderbolt with many edges. O you who are glorious and great Indra! You have broken the unprovoked, determined and unshakable enemy cities by the same mighty thunderbolt. (6)
तं वो॑ धि॒या नव्य॑स्या॒ शवि॑ष्ठं प्र॒त्नं प्र॑त्न॒वत्प॑रितंस॒यध्यै॑ । स नो॑ वक्षदनिमा॒नः सु॒वह्मेन्द्रो॒ विश्वा॒न्यति॑ दु॒र्गहा॑णि ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम प्राचीन ऋषियों के समान अति नवीन स्तुतियों द्वारा अतिशय शक्तिशाली एवं प्राचीन इंद्र का यश बढ़ाते हैं. सीमारहित एवं शोभन वाहन वाले इंद्र हमें सभी पापों से सुरक्षित रखें. (७)
EN English Translation
We, like the ancient sages, increase the glory of the most powerful and ancient Indra by very innovative praises. May Indra, who is without borders and a shobno vehicle, keep us safe from all sins. (7)
आ जना॑य॒ द्रुह्व॑णे॒ पार्थि॑वानि दि॒व्यानि॑ दीपयो॒ऽन्तरि॑क्षा । तपा॑ वृषन्वि॒श्वतः॑ शो॒चिषा॒ तान्ब्र॑ह्म॒द्विषे॑ शोचय॒ क्षाम॒पश्च॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम सज्जन पुरुषों के विरोधी लोगों के लिए धरती, स्वर्ग और अंतरिक्ष के स्थानों को अतिशय दुःखदायी बना दो. हे कामवर्षी इंद्र! तुम अपने तेज से सर्वत्र व्याप्त राक्षसों को जलाओ एवं उन ब्रह्ाद्वेषियों को जलाने के लिए धरती और आकाश को तपाओ. (८)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You make the places of earth, heaven and space very sad for the people opposed to gentlemen. O karyati Indra! Burn the demons everywhere with your brightness and heat the earth and the sky to burn those brahmas. (8)
भुवो॒ जन॑स्य दि॒व्यस्य॒ राजा॒ पार्थि॑वस्य॒ जग॑तस्त्वेषसंदृक् । धि॒ष्व वज्रं॒ दक्षि॑ण इन्द्र॒ हस्ते॒ विश्वा॑ अजुर्य दयसे॒ वि मा॒याः ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे दीप्तदर्शन इंद्र! तुम धरती एवं स्वर्ग में रहने वाले लोगों के स्वामी हो. हे जरा रहित इंद्र। अपने दाहिने हाथ में वज्र धारण करो एवं राक्षसों की सभी मायाओं को समाप्त करो. (९)
EN English Translation
O Bright vision Indra! You are the lord of the people who live on earth and in heaven. O indra without a jar. Hold the thunderbolt in your right hand and put an end to all the maya of the demons. (9)
आ सं॒यत॑मिन्द्र णः स्व॒स्तिं श॑त्रु॒तूर्या॑य बृह॒तीममृ॑ध्राम् । यया॒ दासा॒न्यार्या॑णि वृ॒त्रा करो॑ वज्रिन्सु॒तुका॒ नाहु॑षाणि ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हमें शत्रुओं पर विजय पाने के हेतु विशाल, अहिंसित, एकीभूत एवं कल्याणकारिणी संपत्ति दो. हे वज्रधारी इंद्र! उस कल्याण द्वारा तुमने यज्ञकर्मरहित मनुष्यों को यज्ञशील बनाया एवं शत्रु लोगों को भली प्रकार हिंसित किया. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Give us vast, non-violent, unified and welfare assets to conquer our enemies. O thunderbolt Indra! By that welfare, you have made the unpaired men sacrificial and have annihilated the enemy people well. (10)
स नो॑ नि॒युद्भिः॑ पुरुहूत वेधो वि॒श्ववा॑राभि॒रा ग॑हि प्रयज्यो । न या अदे॑वो॒ वर॑ते॒ न दे॒व आभि॑र्याहि॒ तूय॒मा म॑द्र्य॒द्रिक् ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे बहुतों द्वारा बुलाए गए, यज्ञकर्म के विधाता एवं अतिशय यज्ञपात्र इंद्र! तुम सबके द्वारा पसंद किए गए घोड़ों की सहायता से हमारे समीप आओ. देवों एवं दानवों द्वारा न रोके जाने वाले घोड़ों के द्वारा तुम हमारे सामने आओ. (११)
EN English Translation
O you have been called by many, indra, the vidhata of yajnakarma and the very sacrificial priest! Come to us with the help of horses you all like. Come before us by horses that are not stopped by gods and demons. (11)
