अ॒ग्निं नरो॒ दीधि॑तिभिर॒रण्यो॒र्हस्त॑च्युती जनयन्त प्रश॒स्तम् । दू॒रे॒दृशं॑ गृ॒हप॑तिमथ॒र्युम् ॥ (१)

यज्ञ के नेता ऋत्विज् प्रशंसायोग्य, दूर से दिखाई देने वाले, गृहपति एवं गतिशील अग्नि को हाथों की गति एवं उंगलियों की सहायता से अरणि से उत्पन्न करते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
The leader of the yajna, the Ritvija, produces praiseworthy, distant, grihapati and dynamic agni from the forest with the help of hands and fingers. (1)
तम॒ग्निमस्ते॒ वस॑वो॒ न्यृ॑ण्वन्सुप्रति॒चक्ष॒मव॑से॒ कुत॑श्चित् । द॒क्षाय्यो॒ यो दम॒ आस॒ नित्यः॑ ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो अग्नि घर में पूजनीय एवं नित्य थे, उन्हीं शोभनदर्शन वाले अग्नि को सभी भयों से बचाने के लिए वसिष्ठ पुत्रों ने घर में रखा. (२)
EN English Translation
Vasishtha sons kept the agni which was revered and regular in the house to save the agni from all fears. (2)
प्रेद्धो॑ अग्ने दीदिहि पु॒रो नोऽज॑स्रया सू॒र्म्या॑ यविष्ठ । त्वां शश्व॑न्त॒ उप॑ यन्ति॒ वाजाः॑ ॥ (३)

हे अतिशय युवा अग्नि! तुम भली प्रकार प्रज्वलित होकर अपनी गतिशील ज्वाला के साथ हमारे कल्याण के लिए यज्ञशाला में चमको. बहुत से अन्न तुम्हारे पास जाते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O very young agni! You ignite well and shine in the yajnashala for our welfare with your moving flame. A lot of food goes to you. (3)
प्र ते अ॒ग्नयो॒ऽग्निभ्यो॒ वरं॒ निः सु॒वीरा॑सः शोशुचन्त द्यु॒मन्तः॑ । यत्रा॒ नरः॑ स॒मास॑ते सुजा॒ताः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शोभनजन्म वाले ऋत्विज् जहां बैठते हैं, वहां अग्नि लौकिक अग्नियों की अपेक्षा कल्याणकारी, संतान देने वाले एवं अधिक दीप्तिशाली होकर चमकते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
Where the ritwijas of Shobhanjanma sit, the agni shines more than the cosmic agnis, the welfare, the child-giving, and the brighter. (4)
दा नो॑ अग्ने धि॒या र॒यिं सु॒वीरं॑ स्वप॒त्यं स॑हस्य प्रश॒स्तम् । न यं यावा॒ तर॑ति यातु॒मावा॑न् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शत्रुओं को हराने में कुशल अग्नि! हमारी स्तुतियां सुनकर हमें ऐसा कल्याणकर, संतान वाला, शोभन पुत्र-पौत्र वाला एवं श्रेष्ठ धन दो, जिसे हिंसक शत्रु बाधित न कर सकें. (५)
EN English Translation
O agni skilled in defeating enemies! By listening to our praises, give us such welfare, the child, the one with the son-grandson and the best of wealth, which the violent enemies cannot hinder. (5)
उप॒ यमेति॑ युव॒तिः सु॒दक्षं॑ दो॒षा वस्तो॑र्ह॒विष्म॑ती घृ॒ताची॑ । उप॒ स्वैन॑म॒रम॑तिर्वसू॒युः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि से नित्ययुक्त एवं हव्यसहित जुहू रात-दिन शोभनबल वाले अग्नि के पास आती है. स्तोताओं के धन की अभिलाषा करती हुई अग्नि की दीप्ति अग्नि के पास आती है. (६)
EN English Translation
Juhu, constantly and with agni, comes to the agni with a soothing agni day and night. The glow of the agni comes to the agni, longing for the wealth of the stoetas. (6)
विश्वा॑ अ॒ग्नेऽप॑ द॒हारा॑ती॒र्येभि॒स्तपो॑भि॒रद॑हो॒ जरू॑थम् । प्र नि॑स्व॒रं चा॑तय॒स्वामी॑वाम् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुमने जिन तेजों से भयानक शब्द करने वाले राक्षसों को जलाया था, उन्हीं तेजों से समस्त शत्रुओं को जलाओ व ताप नष्ट करके रोग को मिटाओ. (७)
EN English Translation
O agni! Burn all enemies with the same radiances with which you burned the demons who make terrible words, and destroy the heat and wipe out the disease. (7)
आ यस्ते॑ अग्न इध॒ते अनी॑कं॒ वसि॑ष्ठ॒ शुक्र॒ दीदि॑वः॒ पाव॑क । उ॒तो न॑ ए॒भिः स्त॒वथै॑रि॒ह स्याः॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे श्रेष्ठ, शुभ, तेजस्वी एवं शोधक अग्नि! जो तुम्हारा तेज बढ़ाते हैं, उन पर तुम जिस प्रकार प्रसन्न होते हो, उसी प्रकार हमारे स्तोत्रों से प्रसन्न होकर इस यज्ञ में आओ. (८)
EN English Translation
O the best, the auspicious, the brightest and the seeker agni! Just as you are pleased with those who increase your speed, so come to this yagna, being pleased with our hymns. (8)
वि ये ते॑ अग्ने भेजि॒रे अनी॑कं॒ मर्ता॒ नरः॒ पित्र्या॑सः पुरु॒त्रा । उ॒तो न॑ ए॒भिः सु॒मना॑ इ॒ह स्याः॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! जो पितरों के हितकारक एवं यज्ञकर्म के नेता लोग तुम्हारे तेज को अनेक स्थानों में बांटते हैं, तुम उन पर जिस प्रकार प्रसन्न होते हो, उसी प्रकार हमारे स्तोत्रं से प्रसन्न होकर इस यज्ञ में स्थित बनो. (९)
EN English Translation
O agni! Those who are the benefactors of the fathers and the leaders of the sacrificial work divide your brightness into many places, just as you are pleased with them, so be happy with our hymns and be in this yajna. (9)
इ॒मे नरो॑ वृत्र॒हत्ये॑षु॒ शूरा॒ विश्वा॒ अदे॑वीर॒भि स॑न्तु मा॒याः । ये मे॒ धियं॑ प॒नय॑न्त प्रश॒स्ताम् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो लोग मेरे उत्तम यज्ञकर्म की स्तुति करते हैं, वे ही शूर नेता युद्धों में असुरों की माया को पराजित करें. (१०)
EN English Translation
Those who praise My best sacrificial work, let the brave leaders defeat the Maya of the asuras in wars. (10)
मा शूने॑ अग्ने॒ नि ष॑दाम नृ॒णां माशेष॑सो॒ऽवीर॑ता॒ परि॑ त्वा । प्र॒जाव॑तीषु॒ दुर्या॑सु दुर्य ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हम पुत्रादि से शून्य घर में न रहें, न हम दूसरों के घर में निवास करें. हे घर के हितैषी अग्नि देव! पुत्रों एवं वीरों से युक्त हम तुम्हारी सेवा करते हुए प्रजायुक्त घरों में रहें. (११)
EN English Translation
O agni! We should not live in a house of zero from the son, nor should we live in the house of others. O well-wisher of the house, Agni Dev! We should serve you with sons and heroes and live in people's homes. (11)
यम॒श्वी नित्य॑मुप॒याति॑ य॒ज्ञं प्र॒जाव॑न्तं स्वप॒त्यं क्षयं॑ नः । स्वज॑न्मना॒ शेष॑सा वावृधा॒नम् ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे घोड़ों के स्वामी अग्नि! हमें सगे पुत्र से वृद्धि पाता हुआ ऐसा शोभन संतानयुक्त घर दो, जिस यज्ञयुक्त घर में तुम नित्य आते हो. (१२)
EN English Translation
O lord of the horses, agni! Give us a house with such a beautiful child, which you are constantly visiting, growing from the son of the relatives, to which you come daily. (12)
पा॒हि नो॑ अग्ने र॒क्षसो॒ अजु॑ष्टात्पा॒हि धू॒र्तेरर॑रुषो अघा॒योः । त्वा यु॒जा पृ॑तना॒यूँर॒भि ष्या॑म् ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हमें द्वेषयुक्त राक्षस से बचाओ. हमें दान न करने वाले, पापी और हिंसक से बचाओ. हम तुम्हारी सहायता से सेना के इच्छुक लोगों को पराजित करें. (१३)
EN English Translation
O agni! Save us from malicious monsters. Save us from the non-donating, the sinner and the violent. Let us defeat the willing people of the army with your help. (13)
सेद॒ग्निर॒ग्नीँरत्य॑स्त्व॒न्यान्यत्र॑ वा॒जी तन॑यो वी॒ळुपा॑णिः । स॒हस्र॑पाथा अ॒क्षरा॑ स॒मेति॑ ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हमारा बलवान्, दृढ़ हाथों वाला एवं हजारों अन्नों वाला पुत्र नाशरहित स्तोत्रों द्वारा जिस अग्नि की सेवा करता है, वह अग्नि अन्य अग्नियों को पराजित करे. (१४)
EN English Translation
May our son of strength, with firm hands and with thousands of grains, serve the agni that he serves through the unskilled hymns, that agni defeats other agnis. (14)
सेद॒ग्निर्यो व॑नुष्य॒तो नि॒पाति॑ समे॒द्धार॒मंह॑स उरु॒ष्यात् । सु॒जा॒तासः॒ परि॑ चरन्ति वी॒राः ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वे अग्नि ही हैं, जो अपने प्रज्वलित करने वाले को हिंसक एवं विशाल पाप से बचाते हैं तथा शोभनजन्म वाले वीर जिनकी सेवा करते हैं. (१५)
EN English Translation
It is the agni that saves its igniter from violent and great sin and the heroes of shobhanjanam serve. (15)
अ॒यं सो अ॒ग्निराहु॑तः पुरु॒त्रा यमीशा॑नः॒ समिदि॒न्धे ह॒विष्मा॑न् । परि॒ यमेत्य॑ध्व॒रेषु॒ होता॑ ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वे ही अग्नि अनेक यज्ञों में बुलाए जाते हैं, जिन्हें ऐश्वर्य चाहने वाला एवं हव्ययुक्त यजमान भली प्रकार जलाता है एवं यज्ञों में होता जिनकी परिक्रमा करता है. (१६)
EN English Translation
Those same agnis are called in many yagnas, which the splendor and the hungry host burns well and takes place in the yagnas which he circumambulates. (16)
त्वे अ॑ग्न आ॒हव॑नानि॒ भूरी॑शा॒नास॒ आ जु॑हुयाम॒ नित्या॑ । उ॒भा कृ॒ण्वन्तो॑ वह॒तू मि॒येधे॑ ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हम धनों के स्वामी बनकर अग्निहोत्रादि नित्यकर्मो को धारण करने वाले स्तोत्र बोलते हुए यज्ञ में बहुत से हव्य देंगे. (१७)
EN English Translation
O agni! We will give many greetings in the yajna by becoming the masters of wealth by speaking hymns that hold agnihotradi nityakarmo. (17)
इ॒मो अ॑ग्ने वी॒तत॑मानि ह॒व्याज॑स्रो वक्षि दे॒वता॑ति॒मच्छ॑ । प्रति॑ न ईं सुर॒भीणि॑ व्यन्तु ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम इन अति सुंदर हव्यों को देवों के समीप लेकर जाओ. प्रत्येक देव हमारे इस हव्य की कामना करें. (१८)
EN English Translation
O agni! You take these beautiful things close to the gods. May each god wish us this good. (18)
मा नो॑ अग्ने॒ऽवीर॑ते॒ परा॑ दा दु॒र्वास॒सेऽम॑तये॒ मा नो॑ अ॒स्यै । मा नः॑ क्षु॒धे मा र॒क्षस॑ ऋतावो॒ मा नो॒ दमे॒ मा वन॒ आ जु॑हूर्थाः ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हमें संतानहीन मत बनाओ. हमें बुरे कपड़े और बुरी बुद्धि मत देना. हमें भूख और राक्षस को मत सौंपना. हे सत्ययुक्त अग्नि! हमें न घर में मारना और न वन में. (१९)
EN English Translation
O agni! Don't make us childless. Don't give us bad clothes and bad intelligence. Don't give us hunger and monsters. O true agni! Don't kill us in the house or in the forest. (19)
नू मे॒ ब्रह्मा॑ण्यग्न॒ उच्छ॑शाधि॒ त्वं दे॑व म॒घव॑द्भ्यः सुषूदः । रा॒तौ स्या॑मो॒भया॑स॒ आ ते॑ यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! मेरे लिए अन्नों को विशेषरूप से शुद्ध करना. हे देव! हम हव्ययुक्तों को तुम अन्न दो. हम यजमान और स्तोता दोनों तुम्हारे दान के पात्र बनें. तुम सदा कल्याणों द्वारा हमारा पालन करो. (२०)
EN English Translation
O agni! To purify the grains especially for me. Oh, God! We give you food to the people. Let us host and stota both be eligible for your donation. You always follow us by welfares. (20)
त्वम॑ग्ने सु॒हवो॑ र॒ण्वसं॑दृक्सुदी॒ती सू॑नो सहसो दिदीहि । मा त्वे सचा॒ तन॑ये॒ नित्य॒ आ ध॒ङ्मा वी॒रो अ॒स्मन्नर्यो॒ वि दा॑सीत् ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शक्ति के पुत्र, शोभन आह्वान वाले एवं रमणीयदर्शन अग्नि! तुम उत्तम प्रकाश के साथ प्रदीप्त बनो! तुम मेरे पुत्र के सहायक बनो एवं उसे मत जलाओ. हमारा मानवहितकारी पुत्र नष्ट न हो. (२१)
EN English Translation
O son of power, Shobhan, the invoking and delightful sight agni! Be illuminated with the best light! Be my son's helper and do not burn him. Let not our human-begotten son perish. (21)
मा नो॑ अग्ने दुर्भृ॒तये॒ सचै॒षु दे॒वेद्धे॑ष्व॒ग्निषु॒ प्र वो॑चः । मा ते॑ अ॒स्मान्दु॑र्म॒तयो॑ भृ॒माच्चि॑द्दे॒वस्य॑ सूनो सहसो नशन्त ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सहायक अग्नि! ऋत्विजों द्वारा अग्नियों के प्रज्वलित होने पर उनसे हमें दुःखपूर्वक मरण के लिए मत कहो. हे प्रज्वलित एवं बलपुत्र अग्नि! तुम्हारी दुर्बुद्धि भ्रम से भी हमें न प्राप्त हो. (२२)
EN English Translation
O helper agni! Don't ask the ritelys to die when the agnis are ignited by them. O agni, the son of the agni! Let us not get even from your ill-conceived delusion. (22)
स मर्तो॑ अग्ने स्वनीक रे॒वानम॑र्त्ये॒ य आ॑जु॒होति॑ ह॒व्यम् । स दे॒वता॑ वसु॒वनिं॑ दधाति॒ यं सू॒रिर॒र्थी पृ॒च्छमा॑न॒ एति॑ ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शोभनतेज वाले एवं देवतारूप ऑऱन्नि! तुम्हें हव्य देने वाला मनुष्य धनवान् होता है. वे अग्नि देव यजमान को धन देते हैं, जिनके पास धन चाहने वाला स्तोता पूछने के लिए जाता है. (२३)
EN English Translation
These are the adorned and deity-like orni! The person who gives you a hug is rich. They give money to the agni god host, to whom the money seeker goes to ask for a hymn. (23)
म॒हो नो॑ अग्ने सुवि॒तस्य॑ वि॒द्वान्र॒यिं सू॒रिभ्य॒ आ व॑हा बृ॒हन्त॑म् । येन॑ व॒यं स॑हसाव॒न्मदे॒मावि॑क्षितास॒ आयु॑षा सु॒वीराः॑ ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम हमारे महान् कल्याणकारी कार्यो को जानते हो. हम स्तोताओं को तुम महान् धन दो. हे बलपुत्र अग्नि! उस धन से हम क्षयरहित, पूर्ण आयु वाले व शोभन पुत्र-पौत्रों वाले होकर प्रसन्न बनें. (२४)
EN English Translation
O agni! You know our great welfare works. We give you great wealth to the psalms. O son of strength, agni! With that money, let us be happy to be without decay, full age and with beautiful sons and grandsons. (24)
नू मे॒ ब्रह्मा॑ण्यग्न॒ उच्छ॑शाधि॒ त्वं दे॑व म॒घव॑द्भ्यः सुषूदः । रा॒तौ स्या॑मो॒भया॑स॒ आ ते॑ यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः ॥ (२५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! मेरे लिए तुम अन्नों को विशेषरूप से शुद्ध करना. हे देव! हम हव्ययुक्तों को तुम अन्न दो. हम यजमान और स्तोता दोनों तुम्हारे दान के पात्र बनें. सदा कल्याणों द्वारा हमारा पालन करो. (२५)
EN English Translation
O agni! For me you make the grains especially pure. Oh, God! We give you food to the people. Let us host and stota both be eligible for your donation. Always follow us by welfare. (25)
