यं त्राय॑ध्व इ॒दमि॑दं॒ देवा॑सो॒ यं च॒ नय॑थ । तस्मा॑ अग्ने॒ वरु॑ण॒ मित्रार्य॑म॒न्मरु॑तः॒ शर्म॑ यच्छत ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे देवो! स्तोता को भय से बचाओ. हे मरुतो! तुम अग्नि, वरुण, मित्र और अर्यमा जिसे अच्छे मार्ग पर ले आते हो, उसे सुख दो. (१)
EN English Translation
Oh, God! Save the psalm from fear. O Maruto! Give joy to the agni, Varuna, the friend and the one whom you bring to the good path. (1)
यु॒ष्माकं॑ देवा॒ अव॒साह॑नि प्रि॒य ई॑जा॒नस्त॑रति॒ द्विषः॑ । प्र स क्षयं॑ तिरते॒ वि म॒हीरिषो॒ यो वो॒ वरा॑य॒ दाश॑ति ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे देवो! तुम्हारे द्वारा रक्षित प्रियदिन में जो यज्ञ करता है, जो शत्रुओं पर आक्रमण करता है, जो अपने निवासस्थान को बढ़ाता है, वह तुम्हें अधिक हव्य इसलिए देता है कि तुम्हें दूसरी जगह जाने से रोक सके. (२)
EN English Translation
Oh, God! The one who performs the yajna in the beloved day you have protected, which attacks the enemies, who increases his dwelling place, gives you more pleasure in order to prevent you from going to another place. (2)
न॒हि व॑श्चर॒मं च॒न वसि॑ष्ठः परि॒मंस॑ते । अ॒स्माक॑म॒द्य म॑रुतः सु॒ते सचा॒ विश्वे॑ पिबत का॒मिनः॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! तुम में जो अवर है, मैं उसे छोड़कर भी स्तुति नहीं करता. हमारा सोम निचुड़ जाने पर तुम सब सोमाभिलाषी बनकर एवं मिलकर उसे पिओ. (३)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! I do not praise what is inferior to you except him. When our som nichad is gone, all of you become somabhilas and drink it together. (3)
न॒हि व॑ ऊ॒तिः पृत॑नासु॒ मर्ध॑ति॒ यस्मा॒ अरा॑ध्वं नरः । अ॒भि व॒ आव॑र्त्सुम॒तिर्नवी॑यसी॒ तूयं॑ यात पिपीषवः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे नेता मरुतो! जिसे तुम अभिलषित धन देते हो, उसे तुम्हारी रक्षा युद्ध में शत्रुओं से चाहती है. तुम्हारी नवीन कृपा हमारे सामने आवे. हे सोमपान के अभिलाषी मरुतो! तुम जल्दी आओ. (४)
EN English Translation
O leader Maruto! To whom you give the money you have received, your protection wants from enemies in war. May your new grace come before us. O Maruto, the desire of Somapan! You come quickly. (4)
ओ षु घृ॑ष्विराधसो या॒तनान्धां॑सि पी॒तये॑ । इ॒मा वो॑ ह॒व्या म॑रुतो र॒रे हि कं॒ मो ष्व१॒॑न्यत्र॑ गन्तन ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे परस्पर मिले हुए धन वाले मरुतो! तुम सोमरूपी हव्य भोगने के लिए भली प्रकार आओ. मैं तुम्हें यह हवि देता हूं. तुम दूसरी जगह मत जाओ. (५)
EN English Translation
O maruto with mutually mixed wealth! You come well to enjoy the Somrupi havya. I'll give you this. You don't go to another place. (5)
आ च॑ नो ब॒र्हिः सद॑तावि॒ता च॑ नः स्पा॒र्हाणि॒ दात॑वे॒ वसु॑ । अस्रे॑धन्तो मरुतः सो॒म्ये मधौ॒ स्वाहे॒ह मा॑दयाध्वै ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! हमारे कुशों पर बैठो. तुम हमारा चाहा हुआ धन देने के लिए हमारे समीप आओ. इस यज्ञ में तुम मदकारक सोमरस को स्वाहा कहकर पिओ और प्रमुदित बनो. (६)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! Sit on our cushions. Come near us to give us the money we want. In this yajna, you should drink the madkari somras as swaha and become merry. (6)
स॒स्वश्चि॒द्धि त॒न्व१॒ः॑ शुम्भ॑माना॒ आ हं॒सासो॒ नील॑पृष्ठा अपप्तन् । विश्वं॒ शर्धो॑ अ॒भितो॑ मा॒ नि षे॑द॒ नरो॒ न र॒ण्वाः सव॑ने॒ मद॑न्तः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे छिपे हुए मरुतो! तुम अपने अंगों को अलंकारों से सुशोभित करते हुए नीले रंग वाले हंसों के समान आओ. मेरे यज्ञ में जिस तरह सब मनुष्य प्रसन्न हैं, उसी प्रकार मरुद्गण भी आकर बैठें. (७)
EN English Translation
O hidden Maruto! You come to the same as blue swans, beautifying your limbs with ornaments. Just as all men are happy in My yajna, so also the deserts should come and sit. (7)
यो नो॑ मरुतो अ॒भि दु॑र्हृणा॒युस्ति॒रश्चि॒त्तानि॑ वसवो॒ जिघां॑सति । द्रु॒हः पाशा॒न्प्रति॒ स मु॑चीष्ट॒ तपि॑ष्ठेन॒ हन्म॑ना हन्तना॒ तम् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रशंसा के योग्य मरुतो! सबके द्वारा तिरस्कृत जो आदमी अशोभन रूप से क्रोध करके हमारे चित्त को दुःखी करना चाहता है, वह पापों के द्रोही वरुण देव के पाशों से हमें बांधेगा. तुम उसे तापकारी आयुध से मारो. (८)
EN English Translation
O Maruto worthy of praise! The man who is despised by all, who wants to grieve our minds by being unbecoming of anger, will bind us to the loops of Varuna Dev, the enemy of sins. You hit him with a heating armament. (8)
सांत॑पना इ॒दं ह॒विर्मरु॑त॒स्तज्जु॑जुष्टन । यु॒ष्माको॒ती रि॑शादसः ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शन्रुतापक मरुतो! यही तुम्हारा हवि है. हे शत्रुभक्षक मरुतो! तुम अपनी रक्षा द्वारा हमारे हवि का सेवन करो. (९)
EN English Translation
O Shunruta painter Maruto! That's your havi. O enemy-eater Maruto! You consume our havi by protecting you. (9)
गृह॑मेधास॒ आ ग॑त॒ मरु॑तो॒ माप॑ भूतन । यु॒ष्माको॒ती सु॑दानवः ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शोभनदान वाले मरुतो! तुम्हारा यज्ञ घर में किया जाता है. तुम अपनी रक्षाओं सहित आओ, जाओ मत. (१०)
EN English Translation
O you who are blessed, Maruto! Your yajna is done at home. You come, including your defenses, don't go. (10)
इ॒हेह॑ वः स्वतवसः॒ कव॑यः॒ सूर्य॑त्वचः । य॒ज्ञं म॑रुत॒ आ वृ॑णे ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्वयं बढ़े हुए, क्रांतदर्शी एवं सूर्य के रंग वाले मरुतो! मैं यज्ञ की कल्पना करता हूं. (११)
EN English Translation
O yourself, enlarged, revolutionary and sun-colored Maruto! I imagine yajna. (11)
त्र्य॑म्बकं यजामहे सु॒गन्धिं॑ पुष्टि॒वर्ध॑नम् । उ॒र्वा॒रु॒कमि॑व॒ बन्ध॑नान्मृ॒त्योर्मु॑क्षीय॒ मामृता॑त् ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम सुगंधि वाले एवं पुष्टि बढ़ाने वाले त्र्यंबक का यज्ञ करते हैं. हे रुद्र देव! जैसे डंठल से बेर टूटता है, उसी प्रकार हमें मृत्युबंधन से मुक्त करो, अमृत से नहीं. (१२)
EN English Translation
We perform the yajna of the aromatic and confirmatory trimbyak. O Rudra Dev! Just as the plum breaks from the stalk, so also free us from the bondage of death, not from the un-death. (12)
