व॒यं घ॑ त्वा सु॒ताव॑न्त॒ आपो॒ न वृ॒क्तब॑र्हिषः । प॒वित्र॑स्य प्र॒स्रव॑णेषु वृत्रह॒न्परि॑ स्तो॒तार॑ आसते ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले हम लोग इस प्रकार तुम्हारे पास आते हैं, जैसे जल नीचे की ओर जाता है. पवित्र सोमरस निचुड़ जाने पर कुश बिछाने वाले स्तोता तुम्हारी सेवा करते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We, who squeeze the somras, come to you like the water goes down. The hymns laying the kush serve you when the holy somras go to Nikud. (1)
स्वर॑न्ति त्वा सु॒ते नरो॒ वसो॑ निरे॒क उ॒क्थिनः॑ । क॒दा सु॒तं तृ॑षा॒ण ओक॒ आ ग॑म॒ इन्द्र॑ स्व॒ब्दीव॒ वंस॑गः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे निवासदाता एवं नेता इंद्र! उक्थ बोलने वाले लोग सोमरस निचुड़ जाने पर तुम्हारी स्तुति करते हैं. सोमरस पीने के लिए प्यारे इंद्र बैल के समान शब्द करते हुए यहां कब आएंगे. (२)
EN English Translation
O lord and leader Indra! The people who speak uqth praise you when you go to Someras Nichud. When will the beloved Indra come here to drink the same words as the beloved Indra bull to drink? (2)
कण्वे॑भिर्धृष्ण॒वा धृ॒षद्वाजं॑ दर्षि सह॒स्रिण॑म् । पि॒शङ्ग॑रूपं मघवन्विचर्षणे म॒क्षू गोम॑न्तमीमहे ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शत्रुओं को दबाने वाले इंद्र! कण्ववंशीय ऋषियों को हजारों की संख्या में अन्न दो. हे धनयुक्त एवं विशेषदृष्टि वाले इंद्र! हम लोग शक्तिशाली, पीले रंग के एवं गायों वाले अन्न को मांगते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O Indra, enemy suppressor! Give thousands of grains to the Kanvavanshi sages. We ask for strong, yellow colored food for cows. (3)
पा॒हि गायान्ध॑सो॒ मद॒ इन्द्रा॑य मेध्यातिथे । यः सम्मि॑श्लो॒ हर्यो॒र्यः सु॒ते सचा॑ व॒ज्री रथो॑ हिर॒ण्ययः॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मेधातिथि ऋषि! सोमरस पिओ एवं उसका नशा होने पर हरि नामक घोड़ों को रथ में जोड़ने वाले सोमरस निचोड़ने में सहायक, वज्रधारी एवं सोने के रथ वाले इंद्र के स्तोत्र पढ़ो. (४)
EN English Translation
O Sage of Medhati! Drink the Somras and read indra's hymns with vajradhari and gold chariots, who help in squeezing the somras, which connects the horses named Hari to the chariot when he is drunk. (4)
यः सु॑ष॒व्यः सु॒दक्षि॑ण इ॒नो यः सु॒क्रतु॑र्गृ॒णे । य आ॑क॒रः स॒हस्रा॒ यः श॒ताम॑घ॒ इन्द्रो॒ यः पू॒र्भिदा॑रि॒तः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिनका दायां एवं बायां दोनों हाथ सुंदर हैं, जो स्वामी, शोभन कर्म करने वाले एवं हजारों कर्म करने वाले हैं तथा जो सैकड़ों संपत्तियों वाले, शत्रुनगरियों को तोड़ने वाले एवं यज्ञ में स्थिर हैं, उन्हीं इंद्र की स्तुति करो. (५)
EN English Translation
Praise indra, who has beautiful right and left hands, who are masters, do good deeds and do thousands of deeds, and who has hundreds of properties, breakers of enemy cities and is stable in yajna. (5)
यो धृ॑षि॒तो योऽवृ॑तो॒ यो अस्ति॒ श्मश्रु॑षु श्रि॒तः । विभू॑तद्युम्न॒श्च्यव॑नः पुरुष्टु॒तः क्रत्वा॒ गौरि॑व शाकि॒नः ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो शत्रुओं को दबाने वाले शत्रुओं के घेरे से रहित, युद्धों में आश्रय देने वाले, अधिक धन वाले, बहुतों द्वारा स्तुत एवं यज्ञकर्म में लगे यजमान के लिए दूध देने वाली गाय के समान अभिलाषापूरक हैं, उन्हीं इंद्र की स्तुति करो. (६)
EN English Translation
Praise indra who is as full of a cow who is free from the circle of enemies who suppresses enemies, who shelters in wars, has more wealth, is praised by many and who is as milking for the host engaged in yajnakarma. (6)
क ईं॑ वेद सु॒ते सचा॒ पिब॑न्तं॒ कद्वयो॑ दधे । अ॒यं यः पुरो॑ विभि॒नत्त्योज॑सा मन्दा॒नः शि॒प्र्यन्ध॑सः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सुंदर जबड़े वाले, सोमरस पीकर मतवाले, शत्रुनगरियों को तोड़ने वाले व सोमरस के निचुड़ जाने पर ऋत्विजों के साथ सोम पीने वाले इंद्र को कौन जानता है और कौन उनके लिए अन्न देता है? (७)
EN English Translation
Who knows Indra, who has beautiful jaws, those who drink somras and drink soma with the sages when the somras are gone, and who gives them food for them? (7)
दा॒ना मृ॒गो न वा॑र॒णः पु॑रु॒त्रा च॒रथं॑ दधे । नकि॑ष्ट्वा॒ नि य॑म॒दा सु॒ते ग॑मो म॒हाँश्च॑र॒स्योज॑सा ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जैसे शत्रुहाथियों की खोज करने वाला हाथी मदजल धारण करता है, उसी प्रकार इंद्र बहुत से यज्ञों में जाने के लिए मद धारण करते हैं. हे इंद्र! तुम्हें कोई वश में नहीं कर सकता. बुम निचोड़े हुए सोमरस की ओर आओ. हे महान् इंद्र! तुम अपने बल से सभी जगह घूमते हो. (८)
EN English Translation
Just as the elephant searching for the enemy elephants holds madjal, so Indra holds the item to go to many yagnas. O Indra! No one can subdue you. Come to the boom squeezed somras. O great Indra! You move around all over the place by your own force. (8)
य उ॒ग्रः सन्ननि॑ष्टृतः स्थि॒रो रणा॑य॒ संस्कृ॑तः । यदि॑ स्तो॒तुर्म॒घवा॑ शृ॒णव॒द्धवं॒ नेन्द्रो॑ योष॒त्या ग॑मत् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जब उग्र, शत्रुओं के घेरे से रहित, स्थिर, युद्ध के लिए शस्त्रों से सुशोभित एवं धनवान् इंद्र स्तोता की पुकार सुन लेते हैं तो अन्यत्र न जाकर वहीं जाते हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
When the fierce, devoid of the circle of enemies, stable, adorned with weapons for war and rich-minded, hear the call of Indra Stota, they do not go elsewhere. (9)
स॒त्यमि॒त्था वृषेद॑सि॒ वृष॑जूति॒र्नोऽवृ॑तः । वृषा॒ ह्यु॑ग्र शृण्वि॒षे प॑रा॒वति॒ वृषो॑ अर्वा॒वति॑ श्रु॒तः ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे उग्र इंद्र! यह सत्य है कि तुम अभिलाषापूरक, अभिलाषापूरकों द्वारा आकृष्ट व शन्रु से बिना घिरे हुए हो. हे उग्र इंद्र! तुम अभिलाषापूरक सुने जाते हो. तुम दूर एवं समीप के स्थानों में अभिलाषापूरक के रूप में प्रसिद्ध हो. (१०)
EN English Translation
O furious Indra! It is true that you are full of desires, attracted by desirefuls and without being surrounded by shantru. O furious Indra! You are heard full of desire. You are famous as a wisher in distant and nearby places. (10)
वृष॑णस्ते अ॒भीश॑वो॒ वृषा॒ कशा॑ हिर॒ण्ययी॑ । वृषा॒ रथो॑ मघव॒न्वृष॑णा॒ हरी॒ वृषा॒ त्वं श॑तक्रतो ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे धनस्वामी इंद्र! तुम्हारे घोड़ों की लगामें अभिलाषापूरक हैं. तुम्हारा सोने का हंटर अभिलाषापूरक है. हे शतक्रतु! तुम्हारा रथ, तुम्हारे घोड़े एवं तुम स्वयं अभिलाषापूरक हो. (११)
EN English Translation
O wealth-owner Indra! The reins of your horses are wishful. Your gold whip is wishful. O shatkratu! Your chariot, your horses and you yourself are aspirational. (11)
वृषा॒ सोता॑ सुनोतु ते॒ वृष॑न्नृजीपि॒न्ना भ॑र । वृषा॑ दधन्वे॒ वृष॑णं न॒दीष्वा तुभ्यं॑ स्थातर्हरीणाम् ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अभिलाषापूरक इंद्र! तुम्हारे लिए सोमरस निचोड़ने वाला अभिलाषापूरक होकर सोमरस निचोड़े. हे सरल गति वाले इंद्र! हमें धन दो. हे हरि नामक अश्चों के सामने स्थित होने वाले एवं अभिलाषापूरक इंद्र! जल में सोम निचोड़ने वाले ने उसे तुम्हारे लिए धारण किया है. (१२)
EN English Translation
Oh, this desireful Indra! Squeeze the somras with the desire for you to squeeze the somras. O simple speed Indra! Give us money. O Indra, who is in front of the ashes called Hari and full of desires! The one who squeezes the mon in the water has held it for you. (12)
एन्द्र॑ याहि पी॒तये॒ मधु॑ शविष्ठ सो॒म्यम् । नायमच्छा॑ म॒घवा॑ शृ॒णव॒द्गिरो॒ ब्रह्मो॒क्था च॑ सु॒क्रतुः॑ ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अतिशय बलवान् इंद्र! मधुर सोमरस पीने के लिए यहां आओ. धनवान् एवं शोभन यज्ञकर्म वाले इंद्र बिना आए हुए स्तुतियां स्तोत्र एवं मंत्र नहीं सुनते. (१३)
EN English Translation
O very strong Indra! Come here to drink sweet somers. Indra, who has dhanvan and shobhan yajnakarma, does not listen to hymns and mantras without coming. (13)
वह॑न्तु त्वा रथे॒ष्ठामा हर॑यो रथ॒युजः॑ । ति॒रश्चि॑द॒र्यं सव॑नानि वृत्रहन्न॒न्येषां॒ या श॑तक्रतो ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वृत्रहंता एवं सैकड़ों बुद्धियों वाले इंद्र! रथ में जुते हुए घोड़े अन्य लोगों के यज्ञों का तिरस्कार करके तुझ रथ में स्थिर स्वामी को हमारे यज्ञ में लावें. (१४)
EN English Translation
O Indra with vrithrahanta and hundreds of intellects! Let the horses that are ploughed in the chariot despise the sacrifices of other people and bring the stable lord in your chariot in our yajna. (14)
अ॒स्माक॑म॒द्यान्त॑मं॒ स्तोमं॑ धिष्व महामह । अ॒स्माकं॑ ते॒ सव॑ना सन्तु॒ शंत॑मा॒ मदा॑य द्युक्ष सोमपाः ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे परमपूज्य इंद्र! आज अत्यंत समीपवर्ती हमारे स्तोम नामक यज्ञ को धारण करो. हे दीप्तिशाली एवं सोमरस पीने वाले इंद्र! तुम्हारे मद के लिए होने वाले हमारे यज्ञ कल्याणकारक हों. (१५)
EN English Translation
O Supreme Indra! Today hold the yajna called Our Stome very near. O Indra, who drinks the radiant and the somras! Let our yajnas for your item be beneficial. (15)
न॒हि षस्तव॒ नो मम॑ शा॒स्त्रे अ॒न्यस्य॒ रण्य॑ति । यो अ॒स्मान्वी॒र आन॑यत् ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो शूर इंद्र हमारा नेतृत्व करते हैं. वे मेरे, तुम्हारे अथवा किसी अन्य के शासन में प्रसन्न नहीं होते. (१६)
EN English Translation
Joe Shur Indra leads us. They are not pleased in my rule, yours or anyone else's rule. (16)
इन्द्र॑श्चिद्घा॒ तद॑ब्रवीत्स्त्रि॒या अ॑शा॒स्यं मनः॑ । उ॒तो अह॒ क्रतुं॑ र॒घुम् ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र ने ही कहा था—“स्त्री के मन पर शासन संभव नहीं है स्त्री की बुद्धि गतिशील होती है.” (१७)
EN English Translation
Indra said, "It is not possible to rule over a woman's mind; a woman's intellect is dynamic." (17)
सप्ती॑ चिद्घा मद॒च्युता॑ मिथु॒ना व॑हतो॒ रथ॑म् । ए॒वेद्धूर्वृष्ण॒ उत्त॑रा ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोमरस की ओर जाने वाले इंद्र के दोनों घोड़े रथ को वहन करते हैं. इस प्रकार कामवर्षक इंद्र का रथ सबसे श्रेष्ठ है. (१८)
EN English Translation
Both of Indra's horses going towards Somras carry the chariot. Thus the chariot of the workman Indra is the best. (18)
अ॒धः प॑श्यस्व॒ मोपरि॑ संत॒रां पा॑द॒कौ ह॑र । मा ते॑ कशप्ल॒कौ दृ॑श॒न्स्त्री हि ब्र॒ह्मा ब॒भूवि॑थ ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र ने कहा-“हे प्रायोगि! तुम नीचे देखो, ऊपर मत देखो. तुम पैरों को आपस में मिलाओ. तुम्हारे निम्नांगों को कोई न देखे. तुम स्तोता होते हुए भी स्त्री हो.” (१९)
EN English Translation
Indra said, "O Prayogi! You look down, don't look up. You join the legs together. No one can see your lower body. You're a woman, even though you're stota (worshipped)." (19)
