प्र नि॒म्नेने॑व॒ सिन्ध॑वो॒ घ्नन्तो॑ वृ॒त्राणि॒ भूर्ण॑यः । सोमा॑ असृग्रमा॒शवः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस प्रकार नदियां नीचे की ओर बहती हैं, उसी प्रकार शत्रुहंता, शीघ्रगामी एवं व्याप्त सोम द्रोणकलश में जाते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
Just as the rivers flow downwards, so do the enemy, the fast-moving and pervasive Som go to dronakalash. (1)
अ॒भि सु॑वा॒नास॒ इन्द॑वो वृ॒ष्टयः॑ पृथि॒वीमि॑व । इन्द्रं॒ सोमा॑सो अक्षरन् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस प्रकार वर्षा धरती पर गिरती है, उसी प्रकार निचुड़ा हुआ सोमरस इंद्र को प्रसन्न करने के लिए नीचे गिरता है. (२)
EN English Translation
Just as the rain falls on the earth, so the unruly Somersa falls down to please Indra. (2)
अत्यू॑र्मिर्मत्स॒रो मदः॒ सोमः॑ प॒वित्रे॑ अर्षति । वि॒घ्नन्रक्षां॑सि देव॒युः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बड़ी-बड़ी लहरों वाले, नशीले एवं प्रमुदित सोम राक्षसों का विनाश करते हुए देवों को पाने की अभिलाषा से दशापवित्र पर जाते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
The big waves, intoxicating and ferocious Soma goes to Dashapavit with the desire to get the gods, destroying the demons. (3)
आ क॒लशे॑षु धावति प॒वित्रे॒ परि॑ षिच्यते । उ॒क्थैर्य॒ज्ञेषु॑ वर्धते ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यज्ञों में सोम तेजी से कलश में जाते हैं, दशापवित्र पर डाले जाते हैं और उक्थमंत्रों के साथ बढ़ते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
In the yagnas, the somas rapidly go to the kalash, are put on the dashapavittra and grow with the ukatthamantras. (4)
अति॒ त्री सो॑म रोच॒ना रोह॒न्न भ्रा॑जसे॒ दिव॑म् । इ॒ष्णन्सूर्यं॒ न चो॑दयः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुम तीनों लोकों का अतिक्रमण करके द्युलोक को प्रकाशित करते हो. तुम गतिशील होकर सूर्य को प्रेरित करो. (५)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! You transcend the three realms and publish the dulok. You move the sun by moving. (5)
अ॒भि विप्रा॑ अनूषत मू॒र्धन्य॒ज्ञस्य॑ का॒रवः॑ । दधा॑ना॒श्चक्ष॑सि प्रि॒यम् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यज्ञ का अनुष्ठान करने वाले स्तोता सोम निचोड़ने वाले दिन सोम पर दृष्टि रखते हुए उनकी स्तुति करते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
The stotas who perform the ritual of yajna praise him by keeping an eye on som on the day of squeezing. (6)
तमु॑ त्वा वा॒जिनं॒ नरो॑ धी॒भिर्विप्रा॑ अव॒स्यवः॑ । मृ॒जन्ति॑ दे॒वता॑तये ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! यज्ञ के नेता अध्वर्यु आदि अन्न की अभिलाषा करके यज्ञ के निमित्त तुम अन्नयुक्त सोम को शुद्ध करते हो. (७)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! You purify the annalyukta som for the sake of yajna by wishing for food, adhwaryu etc., the leader of the yajna. (7)
मधो॒र्धारा॒मनु॑ क्षर ती॒व्रः स॒धस्थ॒मास॑दः । चारु॑रृ॒ताय॑ पी॒तये॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुम मधुर सोम की धाराओं की ओर बहो, तीखे रस वाले बनकर इस निचोड़ने वाले स्थान पर बैठो एवं यज्ञ में देवों के निमित्त सुंदर पीने के पदार्थ बनो. (८)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! You flow towards the streams of Madhur Soma, sit in this squeezing place with sharp juices and become beautiful drinking substances for the gods in the yagna. (8)
