प्र सोमा॑सो मद॒च्युतः॒ श्रव॑से नो म॒घोनः॑ । सु॒ता वि॒दथे॑ अक्रमुः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
नशा करने वाले सोम निचुड़कर हव्यदाता यजमान को अन्न देने के लिए यज्ञ में जाते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
The drunk som nikhurkar goes to the yagna to give food to the havyadata host. (1)
आदीं॑ त्रि॒तस्य॒ योष॑णो॒ हरिं॑ हिन्व॒न्त्यद्रि॑भिः । इन्दु॒मिन्द्रा॑य पी॒तये॑ ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
त्रित ऋषि की उंगलियां हरे रंग के सोम को इंद्र के पीने के लिए पत्थरों से कुचलती हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
The fingers of the sage Trinity crush the green-colored som with stones for Indra's drink. (2)
आदीं॑ हं॒सो यथा॑ ग॒णं विश्व॑स्यावीवशन्म॒तिम् । अत्यो॒ न गोभि॑रज्यते ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हंस जिस प्रकार मानव-समूह में घुसता है, उसी प्रकार यह सोम सभी स्तोताओं की बुद्धि में प्रवेश करते हैं. जिस प्रकार घोड़े को स्नान कराते हैं, उसी प्रकार सोम जलों से सींचे जाते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
Just as the swan enters the human group, so this mon enters into the intellect of all the hymns. Just as the horse is bathed, so the mons are irrigated with water. (3)
उ॒भे सो॑माव॒चाक॑शन्मृ॒गो न त॒क्तो अ॑र्षसि । सीद॑न्नृ॒तस्य॒ योनि॒मा ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे गाय के दूध-दही से मिले हुए सोम! तुम हिरन के समान द्यावा-पृथिवी को देखते हुए यज्ञ के स्थान में बैठने हेतु जाते हो. (४)
EN English Translation
O Mon mixed with cow's milk-curd! You go to sit in the place of the yajna, looking at the deer-like dyava-prithvi. (4)
अ॒भि गावो॑ अनूषत॒ योषा॑ जा॒रमि॑व प्रि॒यम् । अग॑न्ना॒जिं यथा॑ हि॒तम् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! स्त्रियां जिस प्रकार अपने प्यारे प्रेमी की स्तुति करती हैं, उसी प्रकार लोगों की वाणी तुम्हारी प्रशंसा करती है. शूर जिस प्रकार संग्राम में जाता है, उसी प्रकार सोम अपने निश्चित स्थान में जाते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! Just as women praise their beloved lover, so people's voice praises you. Just as Shur goes to sangram, so som goes to his fixed place. (5)
अ॒स्मे धे॑हि द्यु॒मद्यशो॑ म॒घव॑द्भ्यश्च॒ मह्यं॑ च । स॒निं मे॒धामु॒त श्रवः॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! मुझ हव्य अन्नधारी स्तोता को दीप्तिवाला अन्न, धन, बुद्धि और यश दो. (६)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! Give me the bright food, wealth, wisdom and glory to the food-bearing hymn. (6)
