त्वं सो॑मासि धार॒युर्म॒न्द्र ओजि॑ष्ठो अध्व॒रे । पव॑स्व मंह॒यद्र॑यिः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुम अतिशय आनंददाता, परम तेजस्वी एवं हमारे यज्ञ में निचुड़ने वाली धाराओं के अभिलाषी हो. तुम स्तोताओं को धन देते हुए नीचे गिरो. (१)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! You are the most joyful, the most glorious and the desire for the streams that leave in our yajna. You fall down giving money to the Psalms. (1)
त्वं सु॒तो नृ॒माद॑नो दध॒न्वान्म॑त्स॒रिन्त॑मः । इन्द्रा॑य सू॒रिरन्ध॑सा ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुम ऋत्विजों को आनंदित करने वाले, यज्ञ धारण करने वाले, विद्वान् एवं हमारे द्वारा निचोड़े गए हो. तुम हव्यरूप अन्न के साथ इंद्र को अतिशय मद करने वाले बनो. (२)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! You are the ones who make the ritvijas rejoice, the ones who wear the yagna, the scholars and have been squeezed by us. You should be the one who makes Indra very sweet with the food. (2)
त्वं सु॑ष्वा॒णो अद्रि॑भिर॒भ्य॑र्ष॒ कनि॑क्रदत् । द्यु॒मन्तं॒ शुष्म॑मुत्त॒मम् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुम पत्थरों की सहायता से निचोड़े जाकर शब्द करते हुए द्रोणकलश में आओ तथा दीप्तिशाली उत्तम बल प्राप्त करो. (३)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! You squeeze with the help of stones and speak the words and come to dronakalash and get the glorious best strength. (3)
इन्दु॑र्हिन्वा॒नो अ॑र्षति ति॒रो वारा॑ण्य॒व्यया॑ । हरि॒र्वाज॑मचिक्रदत् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
पत्थरों द्वारा कूटे गए सोम भेड़ के बालों से बने कंबल को पार करके निकलते हैं. हरे रंग के सोम अन्न से कहते हैं कि मैं तुम्हारे साथ मिलकर इंद्र को बुलाता हूं. (४)
EN English Translation
Mons, cut by stones, cross a blanket made of sheep's hair. The green mon says to Anna that I will call Indra together with you. (4)
इन्दो॒ व्यव्य॑मर्षसि॒ वि श्रवां॑सि॒ वि सौभ॑गा । वि वाजा॑न्सोम॒ गोम॑तः ॥ (५)

हे सोम! तुम भेड़ के बालों से बने दशापवित्र से छनते हो तथा हविरूप अन्न, सौभाग्य एवं गायों वाला धन प्राप्त करते हो. (५)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! You sift from dashapavittra made of sheep's hair and get havirup food, good fortune and wealth from cows. (5)
आ न॑ इन्दो शत॒ग्विनं॑ र॒यिं गोम॑न्तम॒श्विन॑म् । भरा॑ सोम सह॒स्रिण॑म् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पात्रों से छनते हुए सोम! तुम हमें सौ गायों, उत्तम पशुओं, घोड़ों एवं हजारों संपत्तियों वाला धन दो. (६)
EN English Translation
O Mon filtering from the characters! You give us a hundred cows, the best animals, horses and thousands of properties. (6)
पव॑मानास॒ इन्द॑वस्ति॒रः प॒वित्र॑मा॒शवः॑ । इन्द्रं॒ यामे॑भिराशत ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
भेड़ की ऊन से बने दशापवित्र को पार करके धाराओं के रूप में कलश में गिरते हुए एवं शीघ्र नशा करने वाले सोम अपनी गतियों से इंद्र को प्राप्त होते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
Soma, who crosses the Dashapavitra made of sheep's wool and falls into the kalash in the form of streams and is intoxicated quickly, gets Indra from his motions. (7)
क॒कु॒हः सो॒म्यो रस॒ इन्दु॒रिन्द्रा॑य पू॒र्व्यः । आ॒युः प॑वत आ॒यवे॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सर्वश्रेष्ठ, पूर्वजों द्वारा निर्मित, इंद्र को प्राप्त होने वाला एवं पात्रों में छनता हुआ सोमरस सर्वत्र गतिशील इंद्र के लिए कलशों में पवित्र होता है. (८)
EN English Translation
At best, the somras, created by the ancestors, receiving Indra and filtering in the characters, is sacred in the kalash for the moving Indra everywhere. (8)
हि॒न्वन्ति॒ सूर॒मुस्र॑यः॒ पव॑मानं मधु॒श्चुत॑म् । अ॒भि गि॒रा सम॑स्वरन् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
उंगलियां रस टपकाने वाले एवं यज्ञकर्म के प्रेरक सोम को निचुड़ने के लिए प्रेरित करती हैं तथा स्तोता अपनी स्तुतियों द्वारा उनकी भली-भांति प्रशंसा करते हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
The fingers inspire the juice-dripping and the motivator of yajnakarma to remove Som and the stotas praise him well with their praises. (9)
अ॒वि॒ता नो॑ अ॒जाश्वः॑ पू॒षा याम॑नियामनि । आ भ॑क्षत्क॒न्या॑सु नः ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बकरे को वाहन बनाने वाले पूषादेव प्रत्येक यात्रा में हमारी रक्षा करें एवं हमें कमनीय नारियों का भागी बनावें. (१०)
EN English Translation
May Pushadeva, who makes the goat a vehicle, protect us in every journey and make us a part of the women who are earnest. (10)
अ॒यं सोमः॑ कप॒र्दिने॑ घृ॒तं न प॑वते॒ मधु॑ । आ भ॑क्षत्क॒न्या॑सु नः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हमारा यह सोम कल्याणकारी मुकुट वाले पूषा को मादक घी के समान प्राप्त होता है. वे कमनीय नारियां दें. (११)
EN English Translation
This som of ours is received like intoxicating ghee to the godly flower with the welfare crown. They give commissible women. (11)
अ॒यं त॑ आघृणे सु॒तो घृ॒तं न प॑वते॒ शुचि॑ । आ भ॑क्षत्क॒न्या॑सु नः ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सर्वत्र चमकने वाले पुषा! तुम्हारे लिए निचोड़ा गया यह सोम तुम्हें शुद्ध घी के समान प्राप्त होता है. तुम हमें कमनीय नारियां दो. (१२)
EN English Translation
O shining flowers everywhere! This mon squeezed for you gets you similar to pure ghee. You give us commissible women. (12)
वा॒चो ज॒न्तुः क॑वी॒नां पव॑स्व सोम॒ धार॑या । दे॒वेषु॑ रत्न॒धा अ॑सि ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्तोताओं के वचनों के जन्मदाता सोम! तुम धारा के रूप में द्रोणकलश में गिरो. तुम यज्ञकर्त्ताओं को रत्न देने वाले हो. (१३)
EN English Translation
He is the originator of the words of the Psalms, Mon! You fall into the dronakalash as you stream. You are going to give gemstones to the yagyakartas. (13)
आ क॒लशे॑षु धावति श्ये॒नो वर्म॒ वि गा॑हते । अ॒भि द्रोणा॒ कनि॑क्रदत् ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जैसे बाज पक्षी शब्द करता हुआ अपने घोंसले में जाता है, उसी प्रकार छनते हुए सोम शब्द करके द्रोणकलश में जाते हैं. (१४)
EN English Translation
Just as the hawk bird goes into its nest with the word 'yam', so the word 'mon' is played by the snort, and goes to dronkalash. (14)
परि॒ प्र सो॑म ते॒ रसोऽस॑र्जि क॒लशे॑ सु॒तः । श्ये॒नो न त॒क्तो अ॑र्षति ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुम्हारा रस द्रोणकलश में छनकर चमस आदि पात्रों में विभक्त होता है तथा बाज पक्षी के समान शीघ्रता से इंद्र के पास जाता है. (१५)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! Your juice is filtered in dronaclash and divided into spoons, etc., containers and goes to Indra as quickly as a hawk bird. (15)

हे अतिशय मधुर रस वाले एवं मादक सोम! तुम इंद्र के लिए आओ. (१६)

O very sweet juiced and intoxicating mon! You come to Indra. (16)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस प्रकार शत्रुधनों के इच्छुक लोग रथ भेजते हैं, उसी प्रकार ऋत्विजों ने अन्न वाले सोम को देवों के लिए दिया है. (१७)
EN English Translation
Just as those desirous of enemies send chariots, similarly the Ritvijas have given the som of food for the devas. (17)

अत्यंत मादक एवं दीप्तिशाली सोम ने वायु को बनाया है. (१८)

The most intoxicating and radiant Som has made the air. (18)
ग्राव्णा॑ तु॒न्नो अ॒भिष्टु॑तः प॒वित्रं॑ सोम गच्छसि । दध॑त्स्तो॒त्रे सु॒वीर्य॑म् ॥ (१९)

हे सोम! तुम पत्थरों से मर्दित होकर एवं स्तोता को शोभन धनादि देकर दशापवित्र की ओर प्रयाण करते हो. (१९)

Hey Mon! You strive towards Dashapavitra by being marred by stones and giving shobhan dhanadi to the hymn. (19)
ए॒ष तु॒न्नो अ॒भिष्टु॑तः प॒वित्र॒मति॑ गाहते । र॒क्षो॒हा वार॑म॒व्यय॑म् ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुम पत्थरों से कुचले हुए एवं स्तोताओं द्वारा प्रशंसित होकर राक्षसों का हनन कर दो एवं भेड़ के बालों से बने दशापवित्र को लांघकर द्रोणकलश में आओ. (२०)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! You, crushed with stones and admired by hymns, destroy the demons and come to Dronakalash by crossing the dashapavittra made of sheep's hair. (20)
यदन्ति॒ यच्च॑ दूर॒के भ॒यं वि॒न्दति॒ मामि॒ह । पव॑मान॒ वि तज्ज॑हि ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पवमान सोम! जो भय समीप, दूर अथवा इस स्थान में है, उसे भली प्रकार नष्ट करो. (२१)
EN English Translation
O Pawman Mon! Destroy the fear that is near, far away, or in this place. (21)
पव॑मानः॒ सो अ॒द्य नः॑ प॒वित्रे॑ण॒ विच॑र्षणिः । यः पो॒ता स पु॑नातु नः ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वे सबके द्रष्टा, पवित्र होते हुए एवं दशापवित्र से छने हुए सोम हमें पापरहित करें. (२२)
EN English Translation
May they all be seers, being holy and stripped of dasapavittra, make us sinless. (22)
यत्ते॑ प॒वित्र॑म॒र्चिष्यग्ने॒ वित॑तम॒न्तरा । ब्रह्म॒ तेन॑ पुनीहि नः ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे पवित्र करने वाले अग्नि! तुम्हारा जो शुद्ध करने वाला तेज किरणों के बीच वर्तमान है, उसके द्वारा हमारे पुत्रादि बढ़ाने वाले शरीर को पापरहित करो. (२३)
EN English Translation
O holy agni! Make the body of our sons without sin by the one who purifies you that is present among the bright rays. (23)
यत्ते॑ प॒वित्र॑मर्चि॒वदग्ने॒ तेन॑ पुनीहि नः । ब्र॒ह्म॒स॒वैः पु॑नीहि नः ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम्हारा जो शोभनकिरणों वाला तेज है, अपने उसी तेज से हमें पापरहित करो तथा सोमरस निचोड़ने की क्रियाओं से हमें पवित्र करो. (२४)
EN English Translation
O agni! Make us sinless with your own swiftness, and sanctify us with the actions of squeezing the somras. (24)
उ॒भाभ्यां॑ देव सवितः प॒वित्रे॑ण स॒वेन॑ च । मां पु॑नीहि वि॒श्वतः॑ ॥ (२५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सबके प्रेरक एवं दीप्तिशाली सोम! तुम अपने पवित्र तेज एवं निचुड़ने की क्रिया- इन दोनों से मुझे सभी प्रकार पापरहित करो. (२५)
EN English Translation
O inspiring and glorious Mon of all! You must make me sinless in all respects with your holy swiftness and your act of easing— both of these. (25)
त्रि॒भिष्ट्वं दे॑व सवित॒र्वर्षि॑ष्ठैः सोम॒ धाम॑भिः । अग्ने॒ दक्षैः॑ पुनीहि नः ॥ (२६)

हे सबके प्रेरक, दीप्तिशाली एवं पवित्र करने के गुण से युक्त अग्नि! तुम अपने बढ़े हुए एवं सामर्थ्य वाले तीन तेजों द्वारा हमें पापरहित करो. (२६)
EN English Translation
O agni with the power of inspiring, glorious and sanctifying all! You make us sinless with your three glory of great power and power. (26)
पु॒नन्तु॒ मां दे॑वज॒नाः पु॒नन्तु॒ वस॑वो धि॒या । विश्वे॑ देवाः पुनी॒त मा॒ जात॑वेदः पुनी॒हि मा॑ ॥ (२७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यजमान मुझे पापरहित करें. वसुदाता, जातवेद, दिव्यजन और समस्त देव अपने कर्मो से मुझे पापरहित करें. (२७)
EN English Translation
May the host make me sinless. May Vasudata, Jativeda, Divyajan and all the gods make me sinless with their deeds. (27)
प्र प्या॑यस्व॒ प्र स्य॑न्दस्व॒ सोम॒ विश्वे॑भिरं॒शुभिः॑ । दे॒वेभ्य॑ उत्त॒मं ह॒विः ॥ (२८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! हमें भली प्रकार बढ़ाओ एवं अपनी सभी किरणों द्वारा देवों के निमित्त अति प्रशंसनीय द्रव कलशों में डालो. (२८)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! Raise us well and pour into the kalash the most admirable liquid for the gods by all your rays. (28)
उप॑ प्रि॒यं पनि॑प्नतं॒ युवा॑नमाहुती॒वृध॑म् । अग॑न्म॒ बिभ्र॑तो॒ नमः॑ ॥ (२९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम सबको प्रसन्न करने वाले, अधिक शब्दकारी, तरुण, आहुतियों द्वारा बढ़ने वाले सोम के समीप नमस्कार करते हुए जाते हैं. (२९)
EN English Translation
We go to the som who pleases all, the more wordy, the younger, the younger, the one who grows up with the ahutis. (29)
अ॒लाय्य॑स्य पर॒शुर्न॑नाश॒ तमा प॑वस्व देव सोम । आ॒खुं चि॑दे॒व दे॑व सोम ॥ (३०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
आक्रमणकारी शत्रु का फरसा उसी का नाश करे. हे दीप्तिशाली सोम! तुम हमारे सामने आओ एवं सबका हनन करने वाले शत्रु को मारो. (३०)
EN English Translation
Let the invading enemy destroy him. O radiant Mon! Come before us and kill the enemy who is offending all. (30)
