अयँ सोम इन्द्र तुभ्यँ सुन्वे तुभ्यं पवते त्वमस्य पाहि । त्वँ ह यं चकृषे त्वं ववृष इन्दुं मदाय युज्याय सोमम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप के लिए सोमरस तैयार किया जाता है. आप इस को पीजिए. आप ही उस को बरसाते हैं, उपजाते हैं. आप आनंद हेतु इसे ग्रहण कीजिए. आप हमें इस से मिलाइए. हम आप की शरण में हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Somers is prepared for you. You drink this. You rain it, you grow it. You accept it for pleasure. You introduce us to this. We are in your shelter. (1)
स ईँ रथो न भुरिषाडयोजि महः पुरूणि सातये वसूनि । आदीं विश्वा नहुष्याणि जाता स्वर्षाता वन ऊर्ध्वा नवन्त ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप युद्धों में हमारे शत्रुओं को नष्ट कर देते हैं. रथ में जैसे ज्यादा वजन हो जाता है, वैसे ही आप हमें धन दीजिए. आप हमें धन देते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You destroy our enemies in wars. Just as there is more weight in the chariot, so you give us money. You give us money. (2)
शुष्मी शर्धो न मारुतं पवस्वानभिशस्ता दिव्या यथा विट् । आपो न मक्षू सुमतिर्भवा नः सहस्राप्साः पृतनाषाण्न यज्ञः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! आप पवित्र हैं. आप हमें मरुदगणों जैसा बल प्राप्त कराइए. आप यज्ञवत पवित्र और अनेक प्रकार से सुशोभित होते हैं. आप शत्रुओं को जीतने वाले और जल जैसे पवित्र हैं. हमें वैसी ही पवित्र बुद्धि दीजिए. जैसे पवित्र प्रजा इर्ष्या, द्वेष से दूर रहती है, वैसे ही हम भी दुषप्रवृत्तियों से दूर रहें. (३)
EN English Translation
O Mon! You are holy. You give us the same strength as the Deserts. You are pure and adorned in many ways. You are the conqueror of enemies and as holy as water. Give us the same holy intellect. Just as the holy people stay away from jealousy, malice, so should we also stay away from evil tendencies. (3)
त्वमग्ने यज्ञानाँ होता विश्वेषाँ हितः । देवेभिर्मानुषे जने ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप को देवताओं ने मनुष्य के कल्याण हेतु नियुक्त किया है. आप यज्ञों के होता (पुरोहित) हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
O agni! You have been appointed by the gods for the welfare of human beings. You are the hota (priest) of yagyas. (4)
स नो मन्द्राभिरध्वरे जिह्वाभिर्यजा महः । आ देवान्वक्षि यक्षि च ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप हमारे यज्ञ में अपनी जिह्वाओं (लपटों) से देवताओं का यजन कीजिए. आप देवताओं को आमंत्रित कीजिए और देवताओं तक तृप्तिकारी हवि पहुंचाने की कृपा कीजिए. (५)
EN English Translation
O agni! You worship the gods with your tongues (flames) in our yajna. You invite the gods and please convey the fulfillment of the havi to the gods. (5)
वेत्था हि वेधो अध्वनः पथश्च देवाञ्जसा । अग्ने यज्ञेषु सुक्रतो ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप यज्ञों में पथप्रदर्शक हैं. आप दूर या पास सभी पथों को जानते हैं. आप सर्वज्ञाता हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are a torchbearer in yagyas. You know all paths far or near. You are omniscient. (6)
होता देवो अमर्त्यः पुरस्तादेति मायया । विदथानि प्रचोदयन् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! आप अमर व होता हैं. आप माया से सम्मुख प्रकट होते हैं. आप प्रेरक हैं. (७)

O agni! You are immortal. You appear in front of Maya. You are inspiring. (7)
वाजी वाजेषु धीयतेऽध्वरेषु प्र णीयते । विप्रो यज्ञस्य साधनः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि बलवान हैं. युद्धों में शत्रुनाश हेतु उन्हें स्थापित किया जाता है. ब्राह्मण यज्ञ के प्रमुख साधन हैं. उन से यज्ञ फलीभूत होते हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
Agni is strong. They are installed to destroy enemies in wars. Brahmins are the main means of yajna. Yajna comes to fruition from them. (8)
धिया चक्रे वरेण्यो भूतानां गर्भमा दधे । दक्षस्य पितरं तना ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि वरेण्य (सर्वश्रेष्ठ), सर्वव्यापक व विश्वपालक हैं. यज्ञ के लिए अग्नि को दक्ष की पुत्री (वेदी) ने धारण किया. (९)
EN English Translation
Agni Varenya (best), omnipresent and universal. For the yajna, the agni was worn by Daksha's daughter (altar). (9)
