प्रत्यस्मै पिपीषते विश्वानि विदुषे भर । अरङ्गमाय जग्मयेऽपश्चादध्वने नरः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! इंद्र यज्ञ के संचालक हैं. वे सोमरस पीने के इच्छुक रहते हैं. वे सभी जगह निर्धारित समय पर पहुंचते हैं. वे उपयुक्त स्थान के भागीदार हैं. सब से पहले उन को ही यज्ञ की वेदी पर प्रतिष्ठित किया जाता है. मनुष्यों के यज्ञ में वे जाने की इच्छा रखते हैं. आप सभी उन्हीं इंद्र को सोमरस से तृप्त करने की कृपा कीजिए. (१)
EN English Translation
O hosts! Indra is the operator of yajna. They are willing to drink somerous. They reach all places on time. They are partners in the appropriate location. First of all, they are distinguished on the altar of yajna. They wish to go to the sacrifice of human beings. Please all of you to satisfy the same Indra with Someras. (1)
आ नो वयोवयःशयं महान्तं गह्वरेष्ठां महान्तं पूर्विनेष्ठाम् । उग्रं वचो अपावधीः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप पर्वतवासी हैं. हमें सोमरस दीजिए. वह सब जगह उपलब्ध है. आप घोर निंदास्पद बातों को हम से दूर करने की कृपा कीजिए. हे इंद्र! आप शत्रुओं को हराने वाले हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are a mountain dweller. Give us somers. He is available everywhere. Please take away the most slanderous things from us. O Indra! You are going to defeat enemies. (2)
आ त्वा रथं यथोतये सुम्नाय वर्तयामसि । तुविकूर्मिमृतीषहमिन्द्रँ शविष्ठ सत्पतिम् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप शत्रुओं को हराते व यजमानों का पोषण करते हैं. हम आप से संरक्षण व सुख चाहते हैं. जैसे गतिशील रथ सब जगह घुमा कर ले आता है, उसी प्रकार यजमान आप को यज्ञ स्थान पर ले आते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You defeat enemies and nurture hosts. We want protection and happiness from you. Just as the moving chariot rotates everywhere, so the host brings you to the yajna place. (3)
स पूर्व्यो महोनां वेनः क्रतुभिरानजे । यस्य द्वारा मनुः पिता देवेषु धिय आनजे ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यजमान द्वारा भेंट किए गए हवि के अन्न का भोग लगाने के लिए इंद्र यज्ञस्थल पर उपस्थित होते हैं. वे सभी देवताओं के पालक व बुद्धिशील हैं (४)
EN English Translation
Indra is present at the yajna site to offer the food of Havi offered by the host. They are the guardians and wise men of all gods (4)
यदी वहन्त्याशवो भ्राजमाना रथेष्वा । पिबन्तो मदिरं मधु तत्र श्रवाँसि कृण्वते ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मरुद् आनंददायी हैं. वे मीठा सोमरस पीते और अन्न उपजाते हैं. वे तेजस्वी एवं तीव्र गतिमान हैं. वे इंद्र को यज्ञवेदी तक पहुंचाते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
The desert is blissful. They drink sweet somers and grow food. They are stunning and fast moving. They take Indra to the Yagyavedi. (5)
त्यमु वो अप्रहणं गृणीषे शवसस्पतिम् । इन्द्रं विश्वासाहं नरँ शचिष्ठं विश्ववेदसम् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप यजमानों के हितकारी, अन्न व बल के स्वामी, शत्रुजित्, यज्ञ के स्वामी, शक्तिनायक एवं सर्वज्ञ हैं. हम आप की उपासना करते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are the benefactor of the hosts, the swami of food and strength, the enemy, the swami of yajna, the power hero and the omniscient. We worship you. (6)
दधिक्राव्णो अकारिषं जिष्णोरश्वस्य वाजिनः । सुरभि नो मुखा करत्प्र न आयूँषि तारिषत् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! हम दधिक्राव (ऋषि) की उपासना करते हैं. दधिक्राव (ऋषि) विजेता, घोड़े के समान गतिशील व शरीर को पोषण देने वाले एवं हमारी आयु में बढ़ोतरी करने वाले हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
O hosts! We worship Dadhikrava (sage). Dadhikrava (Sage) is the winner, dynamic like a horse and nourishing the body and increasing our age. (7)
पुरां भिन्दुर्युवा कविरमितौजा अजायत । इन्द्रो विश्वस्य कर्मणो धर्त्ता वज्री पुरुष्टुतः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र शत्रुओं की नगरियों को ध्वस्त करने वाले एवं जवान हैं. वे कवि, शक्तिमान, विश्वपालक, वञ्जधारी एवं अग्रगण्य हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
Indra is the destroyer of the cities of enemies and the youth. He is a poet, a powerful, a vishwapalak, a forester and a pioneer. (8)
