विश्वाः पृतना अभिभूतरं नरः सजूस्ततक्षुरिन्द्रं जजनुश्च राजसे । क्रत्वे वरे स्थेमन्यामुरीमुतोग्रमोजिष्ठं तरसं तरस्विनम् ॥ (१)

इंद्र यज्ञ में सर्वश्रेष्ठ स्थान पर विराजते हैं. वे सेनानायक व ओजस्वी हैं. उन की सेना संगठित है. वे अस्त्रशस्त्र धारण करते हैं. वे शत्रुनाशक, उग्र व महिमावान हैं. यजमान तेजी से कार्य करते हैं. वे इंद्र की उपासना करते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
Indra sits at the best place in the yajna. They are commanders and energetics. Their army is organized. They wear weapons. They are hostile, fierce and glorious. Hosts act fast. They worship Indra. (1)
श्रत्ते दधामि प्रथमाय मन्यवेऽहन्यद्दस्युं नर्यं विवेरपः । उभे यत्वा रोदसी धावतामनु भ्यसात्ते शुष्मात्पृथिवी चिदद्रिवः ॥ (२)

हे इंद्र! आप दुष्टों (दुश्मनों) का नाश करने वाले हैं. आप प्राणियों के हित के लिए जल बरसाते हैं. स्वर्गलोक और पृथ्वीलोक आप की इच्छा से क्रियाशील होते हैं. हम इंद्र के उस क्रोध की प्रशंसा करते हैं, जो अन्याय को दूर करता है. हम यजमान आप पर बहुत श्रद्धा रखते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are the destroyer of the wicked (enemies). You rain water for the benefit of creatures. Heaven and earth are active by your will. We admire Indra's anger that removes injustice. We hosts have great faith in you. (2)
समेत विश्वा ओजसा पतिं दिवो य एक इद्भूरतिथिर्जनानाम् स । पूर्व्यो नूतनमाजिगीषं तं वर्त्तनीरनु वावृत एक इत् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! इंद्र अपने पुरुषार्थ से स्वर्गलोक के स्वामी बने हैं. वे मनुष्यों में पूजनीय, अपूर्व व जीतने के इच्छुक को विजय दिलाते हैं. आप सब मिल कर उन की उपासना कीजिए. (३)
EN English Translation
O hosts! Indra has become the swami of heaven with his effort. They bring victory to the revered, unpretentious and willing to win in human beings. All of you should worship them together. (3)
इमे त इन्द्र ते वयं पुरुष्टुत ये त्वारभ्य चरामसि प्रभूवसो । न हि त्वदन्यो गिर्वणो गिरः सघत्क्षोणीरिव प्रति तद्धर्य नो वचः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप बहुत धनवान हैं. सभी जगह आप की प्रशंसा होती है. हम आप की शरण में हैं. आप जैसा उपासना योग्य और कोई देवता नहीं हैं. हम आप की उपासना करते हैं. आप हमारे उपासना वचनों को (सब कुछ स्वीकारने वाली) पृथ्वी माता के समान स्वीकारिए. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are very rich. You are admired everywhere. We are in your shelter. There is no other god as worshipable as you. We worship you. Accept our words of worship as Mother Earth.' (4)
चर्षणीधृतं मघवानमुक्थ्या३मिन्द्रं गिरो बृहतीरभ्यनूषत । वावृधानं पुरुहूतँ सुवृक्तिभिरमर्त्यं जरमाणं दिवेदिवे ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप सभी मनुष्यों का पालनपोषण करते हैं. आप धनवान, प्रसिद्ध एवं आप यजमानों की बढ़ोतरी करते हैं. आप अमर हैं. हम प्रतिदिन आप के लिए कई प्रशंसापरक स्तुतियां करते हैं. हम कई दिव्य उपासनाओं से बारबार आप की उपासना करते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You nurture all human beings. You are rich, famous and you increase the hosts. You are immortal. We do many complimentary praises for you every day. We worship you again and again with many divine worships. (5)
अच्छा व इन्द्रं मतयः स्वर्युवः सध्रीचीर्विश्वा उशतीरनूषत । परि ष्वजन्त जनयो यथा पतिं मर्यं न शुन्ध्युं मघवानमूतये ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हम अपने संरक्षण, धनसंपदा व बुद्धि पाने के लिए आप को चाहते हैं. हम आप से अपनी उन्नति की इच्छा रखते हैं. महिलाएं जैसे पति को चाहती हैं, वैसे ही हमारी प्रार्थनाएं आप को चाहती हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We want you to get your protection, wealth and wisdom. We wish you for our progress. Just as women want a husband, our prayers want you. (6)
अभि त्यं मेषं पुरुहूतमृग्मियमिन्द्रं गीर्भिर्मदता वस्वो अर्णवम् । यस्य द्यावो न विचरन्ति मानुषं भुजे मँहिष्ठमभि विप्रमर्चत ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! आप इंद्र की उपासना कीजिए. इंद्र शन्रुओं को जीतने वाले हैं. वे बहुप्रशंसित हैं. वे धन के भंडार और स्वर्गलोक की भांति विस्तृत हैं. उन की महिमा चारों ओर व्याप्त हैं. ऐसे ज्ञानवान इंद्र को आप सब भजिए. (७)
EN English Translation
O hosts! You worship Indra. Indra is going to win the shanrus. They are highly acclaimed. They are as wide as storehouses of wealth and paradise. The glory of them pervades all around. All of you should worship such a knowledgeable Indra. (7)
त्यँ सु मेषं महया स्वर्विदँ शतं यस्य सुभुवः साकमीरते । अत्यं न वाजँ हवनस्यदँ रथमेन्द्रं ववृत्यामवसे सुवृक्तिभिः ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! इंद्र आत्मज्ञाता व महिमाशाली हैं. वे सौसौ कार्य एक साथ करने वाले व शत्रुओं से होड़ करने वाले हैं. यजमानों को धनदान करने के लिए वे हवन में पधारते हैं. घोड़े की तरह तेजी से पहुंचते हैं. आप अपने संरक्षण के लिए सौसौ प्रार्थनाओं से उन की उपासना कीजिए. (८)
EN English Translation
O hosts! Indra is self-conscious and glorious. They are going to do hundreds of things together and compete with enemies. They come to havan to donate money to the hosts. Reach as fast as a horse. Worship them with hundreds of prayers for your protection. (8)
घृतवती भुवनानामभिश्रियोर्वी पृथ्वी मधुदुघे सुपेशसा । द्यावापृथिवी वरुणस्य धर्मणा विष्कभिते अजरे भूरिरेतसा ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्वर्गलोक और पृथ्वीलोक प्रकाश संपन्न हैं. सभी प्राणियों को आधार देते हैं. वे विशाल व विस्तृत हैं. वे मीठे जल वाले हैं व परम शक्ति पर टिके हुए हैं. वे अविनाशी हैं. उन की उत्पादन क्षमता श्रेष्ठ है. (९)
EN English Translation
Heaven and earth are full of light. Give basis to all beings. They are huge and wide. They are sweet water and are based on ultimate power. They are indestructible. Their production capacity is superior. (9)
उभे यदिन्द्र रोदसी आपप्राथोषा इव । महान्तं त्वा महीनाँ सम्राजं चर्षणीनाम् । देवी जनित्र्यजीजनद्भद्रा जनित्र्यजीजनत् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! आप स्वर्गलोक और पृथ्वीलोक को उषा द्वारा प्रकाशित करते हैं. आप बहुत महान व सम्राट् हैं. देवताओं को जनने वाली अदिति ने आप को जन्म दिया है. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You illuminate swarglok and earthland through Usha. You are a great and emperor. Aditi, who gave birth to gods, has given birth to you. (10)
प्र मन्दिने पितुमदर्चता वचो यः कृष्णगर्भा निरहन्नृजिश्वना । अवस्यवो वृषणं वज्रदक्षिणं मरुत्वन्तँ सख्याय हुवेमहि ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानो! आप इंद्र को हवि प्रदान कीजिए. आप उन की अर्चना कीजिए. उन्होंने ऋजिश्व की मदद से कृष्णासुर की गर्भवती स्त्रियों के साथ उस का वध किया. वे दाएं हाथ में वज्र धारण करने वाले हैं. वे मरुदगणों की सेना के साथ मौजूद रहते हैं. वे शक्तिमान हैं. यजमान उन से अपना संरक्षण चाहते हैं. हम यजमान मित्रता के लिए उन का आह्वान करते हैं. (११)

O hosts! You give power to Indra. You worship them. He killed Krishnasur along with his pregnant women with the help of Rishishva. He is going to wear a thunderbolt in his right hand. They are present with the army of marudagans. They are powerful. The host wants their protection from them. We call upon them for host friendliness. (11)
