अस्था॒द् द्यौरस्था॑त्पृथि॒व्यस्था॒द्विश्व॑मि॒दं जग॑त् । आ॒स्थाने॒ पर्व॑ता अस्थु॒ स्थाम्न्यश्वाँ॑ अतिष्ठिपम् ॥ (१)

नियंता ईश्वर की आज्ञा से जिस प्रकार आकाश और पृथ्वी अपने स्थान पर स्थित हैं, उन के मध्य में स्थित जगत् भी अपने स्थान पर वर्तमान है. मेरु, मंदार आदि पर्वत भी ईश्वर के द्वारा बनाए गए स्थान पर स्थित हैं. हे नारी! उसी प्रकार मैं तुझे घर की थूनी से बांधता हूं. बांधने का प्रकार वही है, जिस प्रकार घुड़सवार दुष्ट घोड़ों को रस्सी से बांधता है. (१)
EN English Translation
Just as the heavens and the earth are located in their place by the command of the Creator God, the world between them is also present in its place. Mountains like Meru, Mandar etc. are also located in the place created by God. O woman! In the same way, I tie you to the shovel of the house. The type of tying is the same as the horseman ties evil horses with a rope. (1)
य उ॒दान॑ट् प॒राय॑णं॒ य उ॒दान॒ण्न्याय॑नम् । आ॒वर्त॑नं नि॒वर्त॑नं॒ यो गो॒पा अपि॒ तं हु॑वे ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं उस देवता का आह्वान करता हूं, जो पीछे गमन करने वालों में व्याप्त है. जो नीचे गमन करने वालों में व्याप्त है और जो भागने वालों के लौटने की गति को रोकता है. (२)
EN English Translation
I invoke the deity who pervades those who go back. Which is prevalent among those who go down and which prevents the speed of return of those who escape. (2)
जात॑वेदो॒ नि व॑र्तय श॒तं ते॑ सन्त्वा॒वृतः॑ । स॒हस्रं॑ त उपा॒वृत॒स्ताभि॑र्नः॒ पुन॒रा कृ॑धि ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे जातवेद अग्नि! इस भागने वाली स्त्री को घर में स्थापित करो. तुम्हारे पास इसे लौटाने के सैकड़ों उपाय हैं. तुम इसे मेरे पास लौटाने के लिए हजारों उपाय जानते हो. उन के द्वारा तुम इस स्त्री को पुनः मेरी ओर आकर्षित करो. (३)
EN English Translation
O jataved agni! Install this running woman in the house. You have hundreds of ways to return it. You know thousands of ways to return it to me. Through them you attract this woman to me again. (3)
