यथा॑ वृ॒क्षं अ॒शनि॑र्वि॒श्वाहा॒ हन्त्य॑प्र॒ति । ए॒वाहम॒द्य कि॑त॒वान॒क्षैर्ब॑ध्यासमप्र॒ति ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बिजली की आग अद्वितीय है तथा वह जिस प्रकार वृक्षों का विनाश करती है, उसी प्रकार मैं भी अद्वितीय हो कर आज जुआरी पुरुषों का वध करूं. मैं जुआरियों का वध पासों से करूंगा अर्थात् उन्हें पासों से हराऊंगा, पराजित करूंगा. (१)
EN English Translation
The agni of electricity is unique and just as it destroys trees, in the same way I should also be unique and kill the gambling men today. I will kill the jurors with dice, that is, I will defeat them with dice, I will defeat them. (1)
तु॒राणा॒मतु॑राणां वि॒शामव॑र्जुषीणाम् । स॒मैतु॑ वि॒श्वतो॒ भगो॑ अन्तर्ह॒स्तं कृ॒तं मम॑ ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जुआ खेलने में चाहे जुआरी शीघ्रता करे अथवा देरी करें, मैं ही उस से जुए में जीतूंगा. जो जुआरी हार जाने पर भी इस आशा से जुआ खेलना बंद नहीं करता कि मैं ही जीतूंगा, ऐसे जुआरी लोगों का धन सभी ओर से मेरे ही पास आए. जुए के पासे मेरे ही हाथ में रहें. (२)
EN English Translation
Whether the gambler is quick or late in gambling, I will win from him in gambling. The gambler who does not stop gambling even after losing with the hope that I will win, the money of such gamblers will come to me from all sides. Let the gambling dice remain in my own hands. (2)
ईडे॑ अ॒ग्निं स्वाव॑सुं॒ नमो॑भिरि॒ह प्र॑स॒क्तो वि च॑यत्कृ॒तं नः॑ । रथै॑रिव॒ प्र भ॑रे वा॒जय॑द्भिः प्रदक्षि॒णं म॒रुतां॒ स्तोम॑मृध्याम् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो अग्नि देव अपना धन अपने स्तुतिकर्ताओं को देते हैं, मैं उन की स्तुति करता हूं. इस द्यूत कर्म के अधिपति अग्नि देव हम जुआरियों के लाभ के लिए कृपा करें. अग्नि देव रथों के समान स्थित पासों से प्रहार करें. इस के पश्चात मैं सभी देवों की क्रम से स्तुति प्रारंभ करूं. (३)
EN English Translation
I praise the agni god who gives his wealth to his praisers. May Agni Dev, the overswami of this gaming deed, be kind for the benefit of us jurors. Strike with dice located like agni god chariots. After this, I should start praising all the gods in order. (3)
व॒यं ज॑येम॒ त्वया॑ यु॒जा वृत॑म॒स्माक॒मंश॒मुद॑वा॒ भरे॑भरे । अ॒स्मभ्य॑मिन्द्र॒ वरी॑यः सु॒गं कृ॑धि॒ प्र शत्रू॑णां मघव॒न्वृष्ण्या॑ रुज ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम्हारी सहायता से हम अपने विरोधी जुआरी को जीत लें. तुम प्रत्येक दूत क्रीड़ा में हम जीत के इच्छुकों का अंश सुरक्षित करो. इस के अतिरिक्त तुम हमें अत्यधिक धन प्राप्त कराओ. हे धनवान इंद्र! तुम मेरे विरोधी जुआरियों को जीतने की शक्ति को समाप्त कर दो. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! With your help, let us conquer our opponent gamblers. You secure the fraction of each messenger we desire to win in sports. In addition to this, you get us a lot of money. O rich Indra! You eliminate the power to conquer my anti-jurors. (4)
अजै॑षं त्वा॒ संलि॑खित॒मजै॑षमु॒त सं॒रुध॑म् । अविं॒ वृको॒ यथा॒ मथ॑दे॒वा म॑थ्नामि ते कृ॒तम् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
विरोधी जुआरी को संबोधन कर के कहा जा रहा है—हे जुआरी! तूने अपने पैरों में अंकों को ठीक से लिख लिया है. फिर भी मैं तुझे जीतूंगा. मैं तुझे ऐसे स्थान में जीत लूंगा, जहां अंक रोके जाते हैं. भेड़िया जिस प्रकार भेड़ को मसल डालता है, उसी प्रकार मैं तेरे दांव को नष्ट कर दूंगा. (५)
EN English Translation
Addressing the opposing gambler, it is being said- O gambler! You have written the digits properly in your feet. Yet I will win you. I will win you in a place where points are withheld. Just as the wolf rubs the sheep, so I will destroy your bet. (5)
उ॒त प्र॒हामति॑दीवा जयति कृ॒तमि॑व श्व॒घ्नी वि चि॑नोति का॒ले । यो दे॒वका॑मो॒ न धनं॑ रु॒णद्धि॒ समित्तं रा॒यः सृ॑जति स्व॒धाभिः॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अधिक जुआ खेलता हुआ पुरुष अपने विरोधी जुआरी को जीत लेता है, क्योंकि दूसरे का धन हरण करने वाला जुआरी पासे फेंकने से पहले ही उस के अंकों का निश्चय कर लेता है. देवों की कामना करता हुआ जो जुआरी जीत में प्राप्त धन को देव संबंधी कार्यों में लगाता है, उसे इंद्र धनों और अन्‘नों से युक्त करते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
A man gambling more wins his opponent gambler, because the gambler who steals the other's money decides his points before throwing the dice. The gambler who desires the gods, who puts the money received in the victory in god-related works, Indra attaches him with wealth and injustice. (6)
गोभि॑ष्टरे॒माम॑तिं दु॒रेवां॒ यवे॑न वा॒ क्षुधं॑ पुरुहूत॒ विश्वे॑ । व॒यं राज॑सु प्रथ॒मा धना॒न्यरि॑ष्टासो वृज॒नीभि॑र्जयेम ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! दरिद्रता के कारण आई हुई दुर्बुद्धि को मैं पशुओं के द्वारा पार करूं. हे बहुतों द्वारा बुलाए गए इंद्र! हम सभी जौ आदि अन्नो की सहायता से भूख का निवारण करें. विरोधी जुआरियों से पराजित न होते हुए हम मुख्य धनों को जुआघर से जीत कर ले जाएं. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! I should overcome the evil sense caused by poverty through animals. O Indra called by many! We should all remove hunger with the help of barley etc. Not being defeated by the opposing jurors, we should take the main money from the gambling house. (7)
कृ॒तं मे॒ दक्षि॑णे॒ हस्ते॑ ज॒यो मे॑ स॒व्य आहि॑तः । गो॒जिद्भू॑यासमश्व॒जिद्ध॑नंज॒यो हि॑रण्य॒जित् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मेरे दाहिने हाथ में लाभ का कारण कृत अर्थात् जुए की महान विजय तथा बाएं हाथ में ऐसी विजय है, जो जुए का साध्य है. इस प्रकार मैं दूसरों की गायों को जीतने वाला, घोड़ों को जीतने वाला, धन को जीतने वाला और स्वर्ण जीतने वाला बनूं. (८)
EN English Translation
The reason for the profit in my right hand is krit i.e. the great victory of gambling and in the left hand is such victory, which is the end of gambling. In this way, I should be the conqueror of others' cows, the conqueror of horses, the conqueror of wealth and the winner of gold. (8)
अक्षाः॒ फल॑वतीं॒ द्युवं॑ द॒त्त गां क्षी॒रिणी॑मिव । सं मा॑ कृ॒तस्य॒ धार॑या॒ धनुः॒ स्नाव्ने॑व नह्यत ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
विजय के लिए पासों से प्रार्थना की जा रही है—हे पासो! तुम इस जुए के खेल को मेरे लिए इस प्रकार फल देने वाला बनाओ, जिस प्रकार दूध देने वाली गाय होती है. धनुष जिस प्रकार तांत से बनी डोरी के द्वारा बाण को दूर फेंकता है, उसी प्रकार पासे चार संख्या वाले दावों के लिए मुझे विजय से जोड़ें. (९)
EN English Translation
Prayers are being made to the passers for victory—O Dice! You make this gambling game bear fruit for me like a cow that gives milk. Just as the bow throws the arrow away with a string made of tant, so pair me with victory for four-number claims. (9)
