सहमान अर्थात् दूसरों को दबाने वाले तेज से युक्त, शत्रुओं के उस तेज को जीतने वाले, स्वर्ग के विजेता, शत्रुओं के गाय आदि पशुओं को जीतने वाले तथा जलों पर विजय प्राप्त करने वाले सूर्य को मैं प्रातः, मध्याह्न और संध्या के कर्मो के द्वारा बुलाता हूं. उन इंद्र रूप सूर्य की कृपा से मैं अपने समान लोगों का प्रिय बनूं. (५)
EN English Translation
I call the sun, which has the glory of suppressing others, the conqueror of the enemies, the conqueror of heaven, the conqueror of the enemies' cows, etc. and the conqueror of the waters, through the deeds of morning, midday and evening. By the grace of those Indra form Sun, I should be dear to people like me. (5)
