अर॑ण्या॒न्यर॑ण्यान्य॒सौ या प्रेव॒ नश्य॑सि । क॒था ग्रामं॒ न पृ॑च्छसि॒ न त्वा॒ भीरि॑व विन्दती३ँ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे विशाल वन! तुम देखते-देखते ही नष्ट हो जाते हो. तुम गांव में जाने का मार्ग क्यों नहीं पूछते? अकेले यहां तुम्हें डर नहीं लगता? (१)
EN English Translation
O huge forest! You are destroyed when you see it. Why don't you ask for a way to the village? Aren't you afraid here alone? (1)
वृ॒षा॒र॒वाय॒ वद॑ते॒ यदु॒पाव॑ति चिच्चि॒कः । आ॒घा॒टिभि॑रिव धा॒वय॑न्नरण्या॒निर्म॑हीयते ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बैल के समान शब्द करने वाले जीव को वन में दूसरा जीव चींचीं करके क्यों उत्तर देता है? ये मानो वीणा पर स्वरों की उत्पत्ति करते हुए वन का यश गाते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
Why does another creature in the forest respond by licking an animal that has the same words as a bull? It is as if they sing the praises of the forest while genesis the vowels on the veena. (2)
उ॒त गाव॑ इवादन्त्यु॒त वेश्मे॑व दृश्यते । उ॒तो अ॑रण्या॒निः सा॒यं श॑क॒टीरि॑व सर्जति ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इस वन में कहीं गाएं चरती सी जान पड़ती हैं और कहीं घर से दिखाई पड़ती हैं. संध्या के समय वन से अनेक गाड़ियां निकलती जान पड़ती हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
In this forest, the cows are seen grazing somewhere and somewhere they are seen from the house. In the evening, many cars seem to be coming out of the forest. (3)
गाम॒ङ्गैष आ ह्व॑यति॒ दार्व॒ङ्गैषो अपा॑वधीत् । वस॑न्नरण्या॒न्यां सा॒यमक्रु॑क्ष॒दिति॑ मन्यते ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वन में एक व्यक्ति गाय को बुलाता है और दूसरा लकड़ियां काटता है. विशाल वन में रहने वाला व्यक्ति संध्या के समय पशुओं का शब्द सुनकर डर सा जाता है. (४)
EN English Translation
In the forest, one person calls the cow and the other cuts the wood. A person living in a huge forest gets scared to hear the word of animals in the evening. (4)
न वा अ॑रण्या॒निर्ह॑न्त्य॒न्यश्चेन्नाभि॒गच्छ॑ति । स्वा॒दोः फल॑स्य ज॒ग्ध्वाय॑ यथा॒कामं॒ नि प॑द्यते ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
विशाल वन किसी को नहीं मारता. यदि सिंह, व्याघ्र आदि पशु न आवें तो वन के स्वादिष्ट फल खाकर लोग प्रसन्नतापूर्वक समय बिता सकते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
The huge forest kills no one. If animals like lions, tigers, etc. do not come, then people can spend time happily by eating the delicious fruits of the forest. (5)
आञ्ज॑नगन्धिं सुर॒भिं ब॑ह्व॒न्नामकृ॑षीवलाम् । प्राहं मृ॒गाणां॑ मा॒तर॑मरण्या॒निम॑शंसिषम् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
कस्तूरी आदि वन की सुगंधियां हैं. खाने की वस्तुएं तो बहुत हैं, पर कोई किसान नहीं है. मैंने पशुओं की माता के रूप में विशाल वनों की स्तुति की है. (६)
EN English Translation
Musk etc. are the fragrances of the forest. There are many food items, but there are no farmers. I have praised vast forests as the mother of animals. (6)
