यजा॑मह॒ इन्द्रं॒ वज्र॑दक्षिणं॒ हरी॑णां र॒थ्यं१॒॑ विव्र॑तानाम् । प्र श्मश्रु॒ दोधु॑वदू॒र्ध्वथा॑ भू॒द्वि सेना॑भि॒र्दय॑मानो॒ वि राध॑सा ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम दक्षिण हाथ में वज्र धारण करने वाले एवं अनेक कर्मो में कुशल घोड़ों को रथ में जोड़ने वाले इंद्र की पूजा करते हैं. इंद्र सोमपान के बाद अपनी दाढ़ी हिलाते हुए ऊपर प्रकट हुए एवं अपनी सेवाओं द्वारा विविध शत्रुओं को मारते हुए स्तोताओं को धन देते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
We worship Indra, who holds a thunderbolt in the south hand and joins horses skilled in many deeds, into the chariot. Indra appears above, shaking his beard after Sompan and giving money to the stoetas by killing various enemies through his services. (1)
हरी॒ न्व॑स्य॒ या वने॑ वि॒दे वस्विन्द्रो॑ म॒घैर्म॒घवा॑ वृत्र॒हा भु॑वत् । ऋ॒भुर्वाज॑ ऋभु॒क्षाः प॑त्यते॒ शवोऽव॑ क्ष्णौमि॒ दास॑स्य॒ नाम॑ चित् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र के हरि नामक दो घोड़ों ने वन में घास प्राप्त की है. इंद्र इन दोनों घोड़ों और धनों की सहायता से धनवान् बनकर वृत्र को मारने में सफल हुए. इंद्र दीप्त, शक्तिशाली, महान् व धन के स्वामी हैं. (मैं दस्युजनों का नाम मिटा दूंगा.) (२)
EN English Translation
Indra's two horses named Hari have obtained grass in the forest. Indra succeeded in killing Vritra by becoming rich with the help of these two horses and money. Indra is the master of bright, powerful, great and wealth. (I will erase the names of bandits.) (2)
य॒दा वज्रं॒ हिर॑ण्य॒मिदथा॒ रथं॒ हरी॒ यम॑स्य॒ वह॑तो॒ वि सू॒रिभिः॑ । आ ति॑ष्ठति म॒घवा॒ सन॑श्रुत॒ इन्द्रो॒ वाज॑स्य दी॒र्घश्र॑वस॒स्पतिः॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र जब सुनहरे रंग का वज्र उठाते हैं, उस समय विद्वानों के साथ एक रथ पर बैठे हुए इंद्र को घोड़े खीचते हैं. इंद्र अन्न एवं महान् कीर्ति के स्वामी हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
When Indra picks up a golden thunderbolt, at that time, sitting on a chariot with scholars, Indra is pulled by horses. Indra is the lord of food and great fame. (3)
सो चि॒न्नु वृ॒ष्टिर्यू॒थ्या॒३॒॑ स्वा सचा॒ँ इन्द्रः॒ श्मश्रू॑णि॒ हरि॑ता॒भि प्रु॑ष्णुते । अव॑ वेति सु॒क्षयं॑ सु॒ते मधूदिद्धू॑नोति॒ वातो॒ यथा॒ वन॑म् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
विशाल वर्षा जिस प्रकार पशुसमूह को भिगोती है, उसी प्रकार इंद्र हरे रंग के सोम से अपनी दाढ़ी भिगोते हैं. इसके बाद इंद्र शोभन यज्ञशाला में जाते हैं और वहां निचुड़े हुए सोमरस को पीकर अपनी दाढ़ी को इस प्रकार हिलाते हैं जिस प्रकार वायु वनों को हिलाते हैं (४)
EN English Translation
Just as the huge rain soaks the animal group, Indra soaks his beard with a green soma. Indra Then Goes to Shobhan Yajnashala and drinks the stagnated somras there and shakes his beard in such a way that the air shakes the forests (4)
यो वा॒चा विवा॑चो मृ॒ध्रवा॑चः पु॒रू स॒हस्राशि॑वा ज॒घान॑ । तत्त॒दिद॑स्य॒ पौंस्यं॑ गृणीमसि पि॒तेव॒ यस्तवि॑षीं वावृ॒धे शवः॑ ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र वचनमात्र से तरह-तरह की बातें करने वाले शत्रुओं को चुप करके उन सैकड़ों- हजारों शत्रुओं को मारते हैं. हम उस इंद्र के पुरुषार्थ की प्रशंसा करते हैं, जो पुत्र की शक्ति बढ़ाने वाले पिता के समान मनुष्यों को बलवान् बनाते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Indra kills hundreds and thousands of enemies by silencing the enemies who do various things from the word. We admire the purushartha of the Indra, who makes men stronger like the Father who increases the power of the Son. (5)
स्तोमं॑ त इन्द्र विम॒दा अ॑जीजन॒न्नपू॑र्व्यं पुरु॒तमं॑ सु॒दान॑वे । वि॒द्मा ह्य॑स्य॒ भोज॑नमि॒नस्य॒ यदा प॒शुं न गो॒पाः क॑रामहे ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शोभन-दान करने वाले इंद्र! विमदवंशियों ने तुम्हारे लिए अनोखी व विस्तृत स्तुति बनाई है. हम राजा इंद्र की तृप्ति का साधन जानते हैं. ग्वाला जिस प्रकार घास दिखाकर पशु को अपने पास बुलाता है, उसी प्रकार हम हव्य का लालच देकर इंद्र को अपने समीप बुलाते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
O you who donating, Indra! The Vimadvanshis have made a unique and detailed praise for you. We know the means of satiating King Indra. Just as the gwala calls the animal to him by showing the grass, so we call Indra near us by luring him with havya. (6)
माकि॑र्न ए॒ना स॒ख्या वि यौ॑षु॒स्तव॑ चेन्द्र विम॒दस्य॑ च॒ ऋषेः॑ । वि॒द्मा हि ते॒ प्रम॑तिं देव जामि॒वद॒स्मे ते॑ सन्तु स॒ख्या शि॒वानि॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! मुझ विमद ऋषि और तुम्हारे बीच जो मित्रता है, उसे कोई भी अलग न करे. हे दीप्तिशाली इंद्र! हम बहिन-भाई की मित्रता के समान तुम्हारी अनुग्रह बुद्धि को जानते हैं. हमारे लिए तुम्हारी मित्रता कल्याणकारक हो. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Let no one separate the friendship that exists between me and the sage Vimad and you. O glorious Indra! We know your gracious wisdom as the friendship of a sister-brother. May your friendship be beneficial to us. (7)
