पव॑स्व॒ मधु॑मत्तम॒ इन्द्रा॑य सोम क्रतु॒वित्त॑मो॒ मदः॑ । महि॑ द्यु॒क्षत॑मो॒ मदः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अतिशय मधुर, अतिशय बुद्धिदाता, महान्, अत्यंत दीप्त एवं मदकारक सोम! तुम इंद्र के हेतु नशीले बनकर टपको. (१)
EN English Translation
O you very sweet, very wise, great, very bright and mesmerizing Mon! You become intoxicating to Indra. (1)
यस्य॑ ते पी॒त्वा वृ॑ष॒भो वृ॑षा॒यते॒ऽस्य पी॒ता स्व॒र्विदः॑ । स सु॒प्रके॑तो अ॒भ्य॑क्रमी॒दिषोऽच्छा॒ वाजं॒ नैत॑शः ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! अभिलाषापूरक इंद्र तुम्हें पीकर बैल के समान आचरण करते हैं. तुझ सर्वद्रष्टा सोम को पीकर इंद्र शोभनज्ञान वाले बनते हैं तथा शत्रुओं के अन्न पर उसी प्रकार आक्रमण करते हैं, जिस प्रकार घोड़ा युद्धस्थल की ओर जाता है. (२)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! The desireful Indra drinks you and behaves like a bull. By drinking your all-seer Som, Indra becomes a behobhnagyana and attacks the food of the enemies in the same way as the horse goes towards the battlefield. (2)
त्वं ह्य१॒॑ङ्ग दैव्या॒ पव॑मान॒ जनि॑मानि द्यु॒मत्त॑मः । अ॒मृ॒त॒त्वाय॑ घो॒षयः॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शुद्ध होते हुए सोम! तुम अत्यंत दीप्तिशाली बनकर देवों को मरणरहित बनाने के लिए उन्हें लक्ष्य करके शीघ्र शब्द करते हो. (३)
EN English Translation
O you are pure, Mon! You become extremely bright and make quick words by aiming for the gods to make them deathless. (3)
येना॒ नव॑ग्वो द॒ध्यङ्ङ॑पोर्णु॒ते येन॒ विप्रा॑स आपि॒रे । दे॒वानां॑ सु॒म्ने अ॒मृत॑स्य॒ चारु॑णो॒ येन॒ श्रवां॑स्यान॒शुः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
नई शैली से यज्ञ करने वाले अंगिरा ऋषि ने जिस सोम को पीकर पणियों द्वारा चुराई हुई गायों का द्वार खोला था, जिसे पीकर ब्राह्मणों ने चोरी गई हुई गाएं पाई थीं एवं जिस सोम की सहायता से यजमान ने यज्ञ आरंभ होने पर कल्याणकारक अमृत जल से संबंधित अन्न पाए थे, वे सोम देवों को अमर बनाने के लिए शब्द करते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
The sage Angira, who performed the yajna in a new style, drank the som and opened the door of the cows stolen by the pangs, by drinking which the Brahmins had found the stolen cows, and with the help of the som with whose help the host found the food related to the welfare nectar water when the yajna started, they say the words to make the Som devs immortal. (4)
ए॒ष स्य धार॑या सु॒तोऽव्यो॒ वारे॑भिः पवते म॒दिन्त॑मः । क्रीळ॑न्नू॒र्मिर॒पामि॑व ॥ (५)

अत्यंत मादक, जलसमूह के समान खेल खेलने वाले निचुड़े हुए सोम भेड़ के बालों से बने दशापवित्र से अपनी धाराएं कलश में गिराते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
The unruly Mons, who play a highly intoxicating, watergroup-like game, drop their streams into the kalash from the dashapavithra made of sheep's hair. (5)
य उ॒स्रिया॒ अप्या॑ अ॒न्तरश्म॑नो॒ निर्गा अकृ॑न्त॒दोज॑सा । अ॒भि व्र॒जं त॑त्निषे॒ गव्य॒मश्व्यं॑ व॒र्मीव॑ धृष्ण॒वा रु॑ज ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिन सोम ने गतिशील अंतरिक्ष में स्थित मेघ से अपनी शक्ति द्वारा वर्षा कराई थी, वे ही सोम गायों और घोड़ों के समूह को सब जगह फैलाते हैं. हे शत्रुपराभवकारी सोम! तुम कवचधारी योद्धा के समान असुरों को मारो. (६)
EN English Translation
The mons who rained by their power from the cloud located in the dynamic space, they spread the group of som cows and horses everywhere. O enemy defeater Mon! You kill the asuras like the armored warrior. (6)
आ सो॑ता॒ परि॑ षिञ्च॒ताश्वं॒ न स्तोम॑म॒प्तुरं॑ रज॒स्तुर॑म् । व॒न॒क्र॒क्षमु॑द॒प्रुत॑म् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋत्विजो! अश्व के समान वेगशाली, स्तुतियोग्य, जलों एवं तेज के प्रेरक, जल खींचने वाले एवं जल में डूबे हुए सोम को निचोड़ो एवं जल से सींचो. (७)
EN English Translation
Hey Ritvijo! As fast as a horse, worthy, inspiring of water and speed, draw water and sink into water, squeeze and irrigate with water. (7)
स॒हस्र॑धारं वृष॒भं प॑यो॒वृधं॑ प्रि॒यं दे॒वाय॒ जन्म॑ने । ऋ॒तेन॒ य ऋ॒तजा॑तो विवावृ॒धे राजा॑ दे॒व ऋ॒तं बृ॒हत् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋत्विजो! हजार धाराओं वाले, अभिलाषापूरक, जल बढ़ाने वाले एवं प्रिय सोम को देवों के निमित्त निचोड़ो. जल में उत्पन्न दीप्तिशाली, सच्चे, महान् एवं राजा सोम जल से बढ़ते हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
Hey Ritvijo! Squeeze the thousand streams, the desireful, the water-booster and the beloved mon for the gods. The glorious, true, great and king som produced in the water grows from water. (8)
अ॒भि द्यु॒म्नं बृ॒हद्यश॒ इष॑स्पते दिदी॒हि दे॑व देव॒युः । वि कोशं॑ मध्य॒मं यु॑व ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अन्न के स्वामी एवं स्तुतियोग्य सोम! तुम देवाभिलाषी बनकर हमारे लिए दिव्य अन्न अधिक मात्रा में दो. (९)
EN English Translation
O Lord of the Food and the Praiseworthy Mon! You become a godly god and give us more amount of divine food. (9)
आ व॑च्यस्व सुदक्ष च॒म्वोः॑ सु॒तो वि॒शां वह्नि॒र्न वि॒श्पतिः॑ । वृ॒ष्टिं दि॒वः प॑वस्व री॒तिम॒पां जिन्वा॒ गवि॑ष्टये॒ धियः॑ ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शोभन बल वाले सोम! तुम चमू नामक पात्रों पर निचुड़ कर एवं राजा के समान प्रजाओं के भारवहनकर्तता बनकर पधारो, अंतरिक्ष से जल की गति नीचे करो एवं गाय की अभिलाषा रखने वाले यजमान का यज्ञकर्म पूरा करो. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Sobhan Bale Wale Mon! You come down to the characters named Chamu and become the weight-carrying force of the people like the king, bring down the speed of the water from space and complete the yajnakarma of the host who desires the cow. (10)
ए॒तमु॒ त्यं म॑द॒च्युतं॑ स॒हस्र॑धारं वृष॒भं दिवो॑ दुहुः । विश्वा॒ वसू॑नि॒ बिभ्र॑तम् ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
ऋत्विज् मादकता टपकाने वाले, हजार धाराओं से युक्त, अभिलाषापूरक एवं सभी धन धारण करने वाले सोम का दोहन करते हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
The ritwij exploits the drug-dripping, with a thousand streams, full of desire and all the wealth-holding mons. (11)
वृषा॒ वि ज॑ज्ञे ज॒नय॒न्नम॑र्त्यः प्र॒तप॒ञ्ज्योति॑षा॒ तमः॑ । स सुष्टु॑तः क॒विभि॑र्नि॒र्णिजं॑ दधे त्रि॒धात्व॑स्य॒ दंस॑सा ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शब्द उत्पन्न करते हुए व अपनी ज्योति से अंधकार का नाश करते हुए अभिलाषापूरक एवं मरणरहित सोम जाने जाते हैं. बुद्धिमानों द्वारा प्रशंसित सोम गाय के दूध-दही में मिलाए जाते हैं. यज्ञकर्म को तीनों सवनों में सोम ही धारण करते हैं. (१२)
EN English Translation
The desire-filled and deathless Som is known to be the one who produces words and destroys darkness with his light. The mons, acclaimed by the wise, are mixed in cow's milk-curd. The yajnakarma is held by Som in all the three saavanas. (12)
स सु॑न्वे॒ यो वसू॑नां॒ यो रा॒यामा॑ने॒ता य इळा॑नाम् । सोमो॒ यः सु॑क्षिती॒नाम् ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो सोम धनों, गायों, अन्नों एवं शोभनगृहों के लाने वाले हैं, वे ऋत्विजों द्वारा निचोड़े जाते हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
The somas who bring wealth, cows, grains and sobhangrihas are squeezed by the ritvijs. (13)
यस्य॑ न॒ इन्द्रः॒ पिबा॒द्यस्य॑ म॒रुतो॒ यस्य॑ वार्य॒मणा॒ भगः॑ । आ येन॑ मि॒त्रावरु॑णा॒ करा॑मह॒ एन्द्र॒मव॑से म॒हे ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हमारे जिस सोम को इंद्र, मरुत्, अर्यमा एवं भग पीते हैं एवं जिसके द्वारा हम मित्र, वरुण और इंद्र को अपनी रक्षा के लिए अभिमुख करते हैं, वे ही सोम निचोड़े जाते हैं. (१४)
EN English Translation
The soma that Indra, Marut, Aryama and Bhaga drink and by which we lead our friends, Varuna and Indra, to protect ourselves, are the same som squeezes. (14)
इन्द्रा॑य सोम॒ पात॑वे॒ नृभि॑र्य॒तः स्वा॑यु॒धो म॒दिन्त॑मः । पव॑स्व॒ मधु॑मत्तमः ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋत्विजों द्वारा संयत, शोभन आयुधों वाले, अत्यंत मादक तथा अधिक मधुर सोम! तुम इंद्र के पीने के लिए अपना रस बहाओ. (१५)
EN English Translation
O you are moderated by the ritwijas, with adorning ordnances, a very intoxicating and a more sweet som! You shed your juice to drink indra. (15)
इन्द्र॑स्य॒ हार्दि॑ सोम॒धान॒मा वि॑श समु॒द्रमि॑व॒ सिन्ध॑वः । जुष्टो॑ मि॒त्राय॒ वरु॑णाय वा॒यवे॑ दि॒वो वि॑ष्ट॒म्भ उ॑त्त॒मः ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्र, वरुण और वायु के लिए पर्याप्त, स्वर्ग के धारणकर्तता, उत्तम एवं इंद्र के प्रिय सोम! नदियां जिस प्रकार सागर में प्रवेश करती हैं, उसी प्रकार तुम द्रोणकलश में प्रवेश करो. (१६)
EN English Translation
O friend, enough for Varuna and the wind, the possessor of heaven, the best and the beloved of Indra, Mon! Just as rivers enter the ocean, so you enter the Dronakalash. (16)
