सोम सब प्राणियों के चेतनायुक्त होने के साथ ही प्रातः के प्रकाश के साथ जाने जाते हैं. हरे रंग वाले, सुंदर, नशीले, मानवों एवं देवों द्वारा प्रशंसित धन यजमान को देने वाले एवं धरती तथा स्वर्ग के जीवों को अपने-अपने काम में लगाने वाले सोम द्यावा-पृथिवी के मध्य भाग में जाते हैं. (४२)
