ॐ अ॒ग्निमी॑ळे पु॒रोहि॑तं य॒ज्ञस्य॑ दे॒वमृ॒त्विज॑म् । होता॑रं रत्न॒धात॑मम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं अग्नि की स्तुति करता हूं. वे यज्ञ के पुरोहित, दानादि गुणों से युक्त, यज्ञ में देवों को बुलाने वाले एवं यज्ञ के फल रूपी रत्नों को धारण करने वाले हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
I praise the agni. They are priests of the yajna, possessing the best qualities, who call the gods to the yajna and wear the gems of the results of the yajna. (1)
बळि॒त्था तद्वपु॑षे धायि दर्श॒तं दे॒वस्य॒ भर्गः॒ सह॑सो॒ यतो॒ जनि॑ । यदी॒मुप॒ ह्वर॑ते॒ साध॑ते म॒तिरृ॒तस्य॒ धेना॑ अनयन्त स॒स्रुतः॑ ॥ (१)

द्योतनशील अग्नि का दर्शनीय वह तेज सब लोग शरीर की दृढ़ता के लिए धारण करते हैं, क्योंकि वह बल से उत्पन्न है. यह बात सत्य है. यह प्रसिद्ध है कि उसी तेज का सहारा लेकर मेरी बुद्धि कार्य करती है और अपना इष्ट सिद्ध करती है. यज्ञसाधक अग्नि के तेज को ही सबकी स्तुतियां प्राप्त होती हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
The visible brightness of the demonic fire is possessed by all people for the firmness of the body, because it is produced by force. That's the truth. It is famous that by resorting to the same speed, my intellect works and proves its favor. It is only the brightness of the yajnashak agni that everyone gets praise. (1)
अग्नी॑षोमावि॒मं सु मे॑ शृणु॒तं वृ॑षणा॒ हव॑म् । प्रति॑ सू॒क्तानि॑ हर्यतं॒ भव॑तं दा॒शुषे॒ मयः॑ ॥ (१)

हे कामवर्षक अग्नि एवं सोम! इस आह्वान को सुनो, हमारी स्तुतियों को स्वीकार करो एवं हव्य देने वाले यजमान को सुख देने वाले बनो. (१)
EN English Translation
O workman Agni and Mon! Listen to this call, accept our praises and be the one who gives pleasure to the host who gives greetings. (1)
अग्ने॒ विव॑स्वदु॒षस॑श्चि॒त्रं राधो॑ अमर्त्य । आ दा॒शुषे॑ जातवेदो वहा॒ त्वम॒द्या दे॒वाँ उ॑ष॒र्बुधः॑ ॥ (१)

हे मरणरहित, सर्वभूतज्ञाता अग्नि! तुम हवि देने वाले यजमान के लिए उषा देवता के पास से लाकर टिकने योग्य एवं विभिन्न प्रकार का धन दो. उषाकाल में जागने वाले देवों को तुम आज यहां ले आना. (१)

O deathless, omniscient agni! You bring from the god Usha and give different types of money for the host who gives the havi from the god of usha and can last. You bring the gods who wake up in the morning here today. (1)
स॒हस्रं॑ त इन्द्रो॒तयो॑ नः स॒हस्र॒मिषो॑ हरिवो गू॒र्तत॑माः । स॒हस्रं॒ रायो॑ माद॒यध्यै॑ सह॒स्रिण॒ उप॑ नो यन्तु॒ वाजाः॑ ॥ (१)

हे इंद्र! तुम्हारे हजारों प्रकार के रक्षण उपाय हजारों तरह से हमारे पास आवें. हे अश्चों के स्वामी! तुम्हारे हजारों तरह के प्रसिद्ध अन्न हमें प्राप्त हों. तुम्हारे पास जो हजारों प्रकार के धन हैं, वे हमें प्रसन्नता देने के लिए मिलें. हमें हजारों पशु प्राप्त हों. (१)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Let thousands of your types of protection measures come to us in thousands of ways. O Lord of the Ashes! May we get thousands of your famous food grains. Let the thousands of kinds of money you have come to give us happiness. We should get thousands of animals. (1)
श्री॒णन्नुप॑ स्था॒द्दिवं॑ भुर॒ण्युः स्था॒तुश्च॒रथ॑म॒क्तून्व्यू॑र्णोत् ॥ (१)

हव्य धारणकर्तता अग्नि दूध आदि हवनीय द्रव्यों को मिलाते हुए आकाश में पहुंच जाते हैं तथा अपने तेज द्वारा स्थावर, जंगम विश्व के साथ-साथ रात्रि को भी प्रकाशित करते हैं. अग्नि इंद्रादि समस्त देवों की अपेक्षा प्रकाशमान एवं स्थावर, जंगम को व्याप्त किए हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
The havan-dharita reaches the sky by mixing the havanic substances like agni milk, etc., and by their brightness, illuminate the local, movable world as well as the night. The agni senses have spread the movable and the movable, the light and the immovable, than all the gods. (1)
वाय॒वा या॑हि दर्शते॒मे सोमा॒ अरं॑कृताः । तेषां॑ पाहि श्रु॒धी हव॑म् ॥ (१)

हे दर्शनीय वायु! आओ, यह सोमरस तैयार है, इसे पिओ. हम सोमपान के लिए तुम्हें बुला रहे हैं. तुम हमारी यह पुकार सुनो. (१)

O Notable (air) Yaayu! Come on, this somras is ready, drink it. We are calling you to Sompan. You accept this call of ours. (1)
यच्चि॒द्धि ते॒ विशो॑ यथा॒ प्र दे॑व वरुण व्र॒तम् । मि॒नी॒मसि॒ द्यवि॑द्यवि ॥ (१)

हे वरुण देव! संसार के विद्वान् तुम्हारे व्रत का अनुष्ठान करने में जिस प्रकार भूलें करते हैं, उसी प्रकार हमसे भी प्रतिदिन प्रमाद होता रहता है. (१)

O Varun Dev! Just as the scholars of the world forget to perform the ritual of your fast, we are also tempted every day. (1)
समि॑द्धो अग्न॒ आ व॑ह दे॒वाँ अ॒द्य य॒तस्रु॑चे । तन्तुं॑ तनुष्व पू॒र्व्यं सु॒तसो॑माय दा॒शुषे॑ ॥ (१)

हे समिद्ध अग्नि! आज खुच उठाए हुए यजमान के कल्याण के लिए देवों को बुलाओ. सोम निचोड़ने वाले और यज्ञ में हवि देने वाले यजमान के निमित्त पूर्वकालीन यज्ञ का विस्तार करो. (१)
EN English Translation
O rich fire! Call the gods for the welfare of the host who has raised the khuch today. Extend the earlier yajna for the host who squeezed the som and gave the havan in the yajna. (1)
इ॒मं स्तोम॒मर्ह॑ते जा॒तवे॑दसे॒ रथ॑मिव॒ सं म॑हेमा मनी॒षया॑ । भ॒द्रा हि नः॒ प्रम॑तिरस्य सं॒सद्यग्ने॑ स॒ख्ये मा रि॑षामा व॒यं तव॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस प्रकार बढ़ई रथ का निर्माण करता है, उसी प्रकार हम पूज्य एवं सब प्राणियों को जानने वाले अग्ने के प्रति बुद्धि निर्मित यह स्तुति समर्पित करते हैं. इस अग्नि की सेवा से हमारी बुद्धि कल्याणी बनती है. हे अग्नि! तुम्हारी मित्रता प्राप्त कर लेने पर हम हिंसा को प्राप्त न हों. (१)
EN English Translation
Just as the carpenter builds the chariot, so we dedicate this praise of the godly and the one who knows all beings in a wise manner. By the service of this agni, our intellect becomes welfare. O agni! If we have gained your friendship, we will not receive violence. (1)
य॒ज्ञाय॑ज्ञा वः सम॒ना तु॑तु॒र्वणि॒र्धियं॑धियं वो देव॒या उ॑ दधिध्वे । आ वो॒ऽर्वाचः॑ सुवि॒ताय॒ रोद॑स्योर्म॒हे व॑वृत्या॒मव॑से सुवृ॒क्तिभिः॑ ॥ (१)

हे मरुतो! सभी यज्ञों के प्रति तुम्हारी समान भावना जान पड़ती है. तुम अपने जल- प्रदान आदि सारे कमो को देवों को प्राप्त कराने के लिए धारण करते हो. मैं तुम्हें महान् स्तोत्र के द्वारा अपने सामने इसलिए बुलाता हूं कि तुम धरती और आकाश की भली प्रकार रक्षा कर सको. (१)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! You have the same feeling towards all the yagnas. You hold all your water-providings, etc., to get the gods. I call you before Me through the great Psalms so that you may well protect the earth and the sky. (1)
शु॒क्रः शु॑शु॒क्वाँ उ॒षो न जा॒रः प॒प्रा स॑मी॒ची दि॒वो न ज्योतिः॑ ॥ (१)

शुभ्रवर्ण अग्नि उषा के जार सूर्य के समान सभी पदार्थो को प्रकाशित करते हैं एवं प्रकाशक सूर्य के समान अपने तेज से धरती और आकाश को भर देते हैं. हे अग्नि! तुम प्रादुर्भूत होकर अपने कर्म से सारे संसार को व्याप्त कर लेते हो. तुम पुत्र के समान देवों के दूत होते हुए भी पिता के समान उनके पालक हो. (१)
EN English Translation
The jars of the white-colored Agni Usha illuminate all the substances like the Sun and the illuminators fill the earth and sky with their brightness like the Sun. O agni! You become enlightened and permeate the whole world through your karma. You are the angels of the gods like the Son, but you are their guardian like the Father. (1)
मध्वः॒ सोम॑स्याश्विना॒ मदा॑य प्र॒त्नो होता वि॑वासते वाम् । ब॒र्हिष्म॑ती रा॒तिर्विश्रि॑ता॒ गीरि॒षा या॑तं नास॒त्योप॒ वाजैः॑ ॥ (१)

हे अश्चिनीकुमारो! तुम्हारा पुराना होता तुम्हारी प्रसन्नता के लिए मधुर सोमरस से तुम्हारी सेवा करता है. ऋत्विजों द्वारा स्तुति के साथ ही कुशों पर हव्य रखा गया है. हमारे लिए देवबल और अन्न के साथ हमारे यहां आओ. (१)
EN English Translation
O aschinikumaro! Your old being serves you with sweet somras for your happiness. Along with praise by the Ritvijas, the kushas have been placed on the havya. Come to us with god and food. (1)
अश्वि॑ना॒ यज्व॑री॒रिषो॒ द्रव॑त्पाणी॒ शुभ॑स्पती । पुरु॑भुजा चन॒स्यत॑म् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अश्विनीकुमारो! तुम्हारी भुजाएं विस्तीर्ण एवं हवि ग्रहण करने के लिए चंचल हैं. तुम शुभ कर्म के पालक हो. तुम दोनों यज्ञ का अन्न ग्रहण करो. (१)
EN English Translation
O Ashwinikumaro! Your arms are wide and eager to grasp Havee . You are the Preserver of good deeds. Both of you take the grain of the yajna. (1)
त्वम॑ग्ने॒ वसू॑ँरि॒ह रु॒द्राँ आ॑दि॒त्याँ उ॒त । यजा॑ स्वध्व॒रं जनं॒ मनु॑जातं घृत॒प्रुष॑म् ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि! तुम इस अनुष्ठान में वसुओं, रुद्रों और आदित्यों का यजन करो. तुम शोभन यज्ञ करने वाले, प्रजापति मनु द्वारा उत्पादित एवं जल सींचने वालों की भी अर्चना करो. (१)
EN English Translation
O agni! You worship vasus, rudras and adityas in this ritual. You should also worship those who perform Shobhan Yajna, those who produce prajapati manu and water. (1)
म॒हश्चि॒त्त्वमि॑न्द्र य॒त ए॒तान्म॒हश्चि॑दसि॒ त्यज॑सो वरू॒ता । स नो॑ वेधो म॒रुतां॑ चिकि॒त्वान्सु॒म्ना व॑नुष्व॒ तव॒ हि प्रेष्ठा॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम रक्षा करने वाले महान् मरुतों को नहीं छोड़ते हो, इसलिए तुम निश्चित रूप से महान् हो. हे मरुतों को बुलाने वाले! तुम हमारे प्रति अनुग्रह करके हमें अत्यंत प्रिय सुख प्रदान करो. (१)

O Indra! You don't leave the great protectors, so you are certainly great. O you who call the maruts! May you grant us the most beloved happiness by being kind to us. (1)
व॒नेम॑ पू॒र्वीर॒र्यो म॑नी॒षा अ॒ग्निः सु॒शोको॒ विश्वा॑न्यश्याः ॥ (१)

बुद्धि द्वारा प्राप्तव्य, शोभनदीप्ति संपन्न, देवों के व्रत एवं मानवों के जन्मरूप कर्म समझकर सारे कार्यों में व्याप्त अन्न की याचना करते हैं. (१)

By understanding the attainment of wisdom, the rich in the glory, the fasting of the gods and the deeds of the birth of human beings, they ask for the food that is present in all the works. (1)
प्र तव्य॑सीं॒ नव्य॑सीं धी॒तिम॒ग्नये॑ वा॒चो म॒तिं सह॑सः सू॒नवे॑ भरे । अ॒पां नपा॒द्यो वसु॑भिः स॒ह प्रि॒यो होता॑ पृथि॒व्यां न्यसी॑ददृ॒त्वियः॑ ॥ (१)

मैं बल के पुत्र, जल के नाती, यजमान के प्रिय एवं यज्ञ संपन्नकर्ता व यथासमय धन के साथ यज्ञवेदी पर बैठने वाले अग्नि के निमित्त यह अतिशयवर्धक एवं नवीनतम यज्ञ करता हूं तथा स्तुति पढ़ता हूं. (१)

I perform this very encouraging and latest yajna and recite the praises for the son of the force, the grandson of water, the beloved and the sacrificial doer of the host and the fire that sits on the yajna-vedi with money in due course. (1)
ए॒षो उ॒षा अपू॑र्व्या॒ व्यु॑च्छति प्रि॒या दि॒वः । स्तु॒षे वा॑मश्विना बृ॒हत् ॥ (१)

यह प्रिय उषा मध्य रात्रि आदि पूर्व कालों में वर्तमान नहीं थी. यह इसी समय आकाश से आकर अंधकार मिटाती है. हे अश्विनीकुमारो! मैं तुम्हारी बहुत स्तुति करता हूं. (१)

This dear Usha was not present in the earlier periods of midnight etc. It comes from the sky at this time and removes the darkness. O Ashwinikumaro! I praise you very much. (1)
सु॒रू॒प॒कृ॒त्नुमू॒तये॑ सु॒दुघा॑मिव गो॒दुहे॑ । जु॒हू॒मसि॒ द्यवि॑द्यवि ॥ (१)

जिस प्रकार ग्वाला दूध दुहने के लिए गाय को बुलाता है, उसी प्रकार हम भी अपनी रक्षा के लिए सुंदर कर्म करने वाले इंद्र को प्रतिदिन बुलाते हैं. (१)

Just as Gwala calls the cow to milch milk, we also call indra, who does beautiful deeds every day to protect us. (1)
द्वे विरू॑पे चरतः॒ स्वर्थे॑ अ॒न्यान्या॑ व॒त्समुप॑ धापयेते । हरि॑र॒न्यस्यां॒ भव॑ति स्व॒धावा॑ञ्छु॒क्रो अ॒न्यस्यां॑ ददृशे सु॒वर्चाः॑ ॥ (१)

हे दिवस और रात्रि! तुम सुंदर प्रयोजन वाले एवं परस्पर विरुद्ध रूप से युक्त होकर चलते हो. रात और दिन दोनों, दोनों के पुत्ररक्षा करते हैं. रात्रि के पास से सूर्य हवि रूप अन्न प्राप्त करता है एवं दूसरा दिन के, पास से शोभन प्रकाश वाला दिखाई देता है. (१)
EN English Translation
O day and night! You are opposite of each other and walk with a beautiful purpose. Both night and day are protected by the sons of fire and sun. From near the night, the sun receives food in the form of a havi and the second appears to be of bright light from near the day. (1)
वसि॑ष्वा॒ हि मि॑येध्य॒ वस्त्रा॑ण्यूर्जां पते । सेमं नो॑ अध्व॒रं य॑ज ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि देव! तुम यज्ञ के योग्य एवं अन्नों के पालक हो. तुम अपना तेज धारण करो और हमारे इस यज्ञ को पूरा करो. (१)
EN English Translation
O God of agni! You are worthy of yajna and guardian of the grains. You must wear your fast and complete this yajna of ours. (1)
न नू॒नमस्ति॒ नो श्वः कस्तद्वे॑द॒ यदद्भु॑तम् । अ॒न्यस्य॑ चि॒त्तम॒भि सं॑च॒रेण्य॑मु॒ताधी॑तं॒ वि न॑श्यति ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
) इंद्र ने कहा-“आज या कल वास्तव में कुछ नहीं है. जो कार्य विचित्र है, उसे कौन जानता है? अन्य लोगों का मन इतना चंचल होता है कि वे जो भी पढ़ते हैं, सो भूल जाते हैं.” (१)
EN English Translation
Indra said, "Today or tomorrow is really nothing. Who knows the work that is strange? Other people's minds are so fickle that they forget to sleep whatever they read." (1)
एति॒ प्र होता॑ व्र॒तम॑स्य मा॒ययो॒र्ध्वां दधा॑नः॒ शुचि॑पेशसं॒ धिय॑म् । अ॒भि स्रुचः॑ क्रमते दक्षिणा॒वृतो॒ या अ॑स्य॒ धाम॑ प्रथ॒मं ह॒ निंस॑ते ॥ (१)

प्रज्ञायुक्त होता अपनी ऊर्ध्वमुखी एवं शोभन रूपवाली प्रज्ञा को धारण करता हुआ अग्नि को हवि देने के लिए जा रहा है एवं प्रदक्षिणा करता हुआ अनने में प्रथम आहुति देने के साधन खुच को धारण करता है. (१)
EN English Translation
The wise man is going to give the fire to the fire, holding his upward and aloof form of wisdom and circumambulation, and holds the means to give the first sacrifice in the mirror. (1)
उप॒ प्र जि॑न्वन्नुश॒तीरु॒शन्तं॒ पतिं॒ न नित्यं॒ जन॑यः॒ सनी॑ळाः । स्वसा॑रः॒ श्यावी॒मरु॑षीमजुष्रञ्चि॒त्रमु॒च्छन्ती॑मु॒षसं॒ न गावः॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
कामना करने वाली एवं एक साथ निवास करने वाली उंगलियां हव्य की अभिलाषा करने वाले अग्नि को हव्य देकर उसी प्रकार प्रसन्न करती हैं, जिस प्रकार विवाहिता नारी अपने पति को प्रसन्न करती है. पहले कृष्णवर्ण धारण करने वाली उषा की सेवा जिस प्रकार सूर्यकिरणें करती हैं, उसी प्रकार उंगलियां पूजनीय अग्नि की अंजलिबंधन से सेवा करती हैं. EN English Translation
The fingers that wish and dwell together please the agni that desires to be happy in the same way that a married woman pleases her husband. Just as the Sun rays serve Usha, who first wore the Krishnavarna, the fingers serve the revered agni with anjalibandhan. (1)
प्रति॑ व ए॒ना नम॑सा॒हमे॑मि सू॒क्तेन॑ भिक्षे सुम॒तिं तु॒राणा॑म् । र॒रा॒णता॑ मरुतो वे॒द्याभि॒र्नि हेळो॑ ध॒त्त वि मु॑चध्व॒मश्वा॑न् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वेगशाली मरुतो! मैं अपना नमस्कार और स्तुति वचन लेकर तुम्हारे समीप आता हूं एवं तुम्हारी दया की याचना करता हूं. तुम स्तुतियों से चित्त प्रसन्न करो, क्रोध त्यागो और घोड़ों को रथ से अलग कर दो. (१)
EN English Translation
O fastmaruto! I come to you with my greetings and words of praise and ask for your mercy. Please your heart with praises, renounce anger and separate the horses from the chariot. (1)
आ त्वेता॒ नि षी॑द॒तेन्द्र॑म॒भि प्र गा॑यत । सखा॑यः॒ स्तोम॑वाहसः ॥ (१)

हे स्तुति करने वाले मित्रो! शीघ्र आओ और यहां बैठो. तुम लोग इंद्र की स्तुति करो. (१)

O praising friends! Come quickly and sit here. You people praise Indra. (1)
आ वां॒ रथो॑ अश्विना श्ये॒नप॑त्वा सुमृळी॒कः स्ववा॑ँ यात्व॒र्वाङ् । यो मर्त्य॑स्य॒ मन॑सो॒ जवी॑यान्त्रिवन्धु॒रो वृ॑षणा॒ वात॑रंहाः ॥ (१)

हे अश्चिनीकुमारो! तुम्हारा घोड़ों से चलने वाला सुखयुक्त एवं धनयुक्त रथ हमारे सामने आए. हे कामवर्षको! वह मानव मन के समान वेगवानू त्रिर्बधुर एवं वायु के समान तीव्रगामी है. (१)

O aschinikumaro! Your happy and rich horse-driven chariot came before us. O work years! It is as fast as the human mind and as fast as the wind. (1)
अश्वं॒ न त्वा॒ वार॑वन्तं व॒न्दध्या॑ अ॒ग्निं नमो॑भिः । स॒म्राज॑न्तमध्व॒राणा॑म् ॥ (१)

हे अग्नि देव! तुम यज्ञ के सम्राट् एवं पूंछ वाले घोड़े के समान हो. हम स्तुतियों के द्वारा तुम्हारी वंदना करते है. (१)

O God of agni! You are like the emperor of yajna and the tail horse. We worship you through praises. (1)
स प्र॒त्नथा॒ सह॑सा॒ जाय॑मानः स॒द्यः काव्या॑नि॒ बळ॑धत्त॒ विश्वा॑ । आप॑श्च मि॒त्रं धि॒षणा॑ च साधन्दे॒वा अ॒ग्निं धा॑रयन्द्रविणो॒दाम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बलपूर्वक काष्ठ घर्षण से उत्पन्न अग्नि शीघ्र ही चिरंतन के समान क्रांतदर्शियों के समस्त यज्ञकर्मो को धारण करते हैं. उस विद्युत्रूप अग्नि को वायु और जल मित्र बना लेते हैं. ऋत्विजों ने धनदाता अग्नि को धारण किया है. (१)
EN English Translation
The agni produced by forceful wood friction soon holds all the sacrificial deeds of the revolutionaries like chirantan. That electric form makes agni a friend of air and water. The ritwijs have held on to the money-giving agni. (1)
