यमैच्छा॑म॒ मन॑सा॒ सो॒३॒॑ऽयमागा॑द्य॒ज्ञस्य॑ वि॒द्वान्परु॑षश्चिकि॒त्वान् । स नो॑ यक्षद्दे॒वता॑ता॒ यजी॑या॒न्नि हि षत्स॒दन्त॑रः॒ पूर्वो॑ अ॒स्मत् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम मन से जिन अग्नि की कामना करते थे, वे आ गए हैं. अग्नि यज्ञ को जानते हैं और अपने शरीर को पूर्ण करते हैं. यज्ञकर््ताओं में श्रेष्ठ अग्नि हमारे यज्ञ में होम करते हैं. हम देवों से पूर्व में, वर्तमान अग्ने देवों के मध्य बैठे हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
The agnis we used to desire from the heart have come. Know the agni yajna and complete your body. The best agni in the yagnakartas is the home in our yajna. We are sitting in the east of the gods, among the present Agne Devas. (1)
अरा॑धि॒ होता॑ नि॒षदा॒ यजी॑यान॒भि प्रयां॑सि॒ सुधि॑तानि॒ हि ख्यत् । यजा॑महै य॒ज्ञिया॒न्हन्त॑ दे॒वाँ ईळा॑महा॒ ईड्या॒ँ आज्ये॑न ॥ (२)

होता और यज्ञकर्त्ताओं में श्रेष्ठ अग्नि यज्ञवेदी पर बैठकर आहुति के योग्य हुए हैं. वे भली-भांति रखे हुए चरु, पुरोडाश आदि को सब ओर से इसलिए देखते हैं कि यज्ञ के योग्य देवों का शीघ्र होम करें और स्तुतियोग्य देवों की स्तुति करें. (२)
EN English Translation
And the best of the yajnakartas have been worthy of the sacrifice by sitting on the agni yajna-vedi. They see well-kept charu, purodash, etc. from all sides so that they may quickly kill the deities worthy of yajna and praise the praiseworthy gods. (2)
सा॒ध्वीम॑कर्दे॒ववी॑तिं नो अ॒द्य य॒ज्ञस्य॑ जि॒ह्वाम॑विदाम॒ गुह्या॑म् । स आयु॒रागा॑त्सुर॒भिर्वसा॑नो भ॒द्राम॑कर्दे॒वहू॑तिं नो अ॒द्य ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि हमारे देवागमन वाले यज्ञकार्यं को भली-भांति पूर्ण करें. हम यज्ञ की गूढ़ जिह्वा के समान अग्नि को प्राप्त कर चुके हैं. वे अग्नि सुगंधि एवं आयु को धारण करते हुए आए हैं एवं आज हमारे देवाह्लानरूपी यज्ञ को कल्याणमय किया है. (३)
EN English Translation
Let the agni complete our devagamana yajna karma well. We have attained the agni like the deep tongue of the yajna. They have come in the presence of agni sugandhi and age and have made our Devahlanrupi yajna auspicious today. (3)
तद॒द्य वा॒चः प्र॑थ॒मं म॑सीय॒ येनासु॑राँ अ॒भि दे॒वा असा॑म । ऊर्जा॑द उ॒त य॑ज्ञियासः॒ पञ्च॑ जना॒ मम॑ हो॒त्रं जु॑षध्वम् ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम आज उस प्रमुख वचन का उच्चारण करें, जिसके कारण हम तथा देवगण असुरों को पराजित कर सकें. हे अन्न भक्षण करने वाले एवं यज्ञ के योग्य पंचजनो! तुम हमारे होम का सेवन करो. (४)
EN English Translation
Let us pronounce today the major word that can help us and the Devas defeat the asuras. O food eaters and worthy of yajna, the Panchjano! You consume our home. (4)
पञ्च॒ जना॒ मम॑ हो॒त्रं जु॑षन्तां॒ गोजा॑ता उ॒त ये य॒ज्ञिया॑सः । पृ॒थि॒वी नः॒ पार्थि॑वात्पा॒त्वंह॑सो॒ऽन्तरि॑क्षं दि॒व्यात्पा॑त्व॒स्मान् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
पंचजन मेरे आह्वान को स्वीकार करें. भूमि से उत्पन्न एवं यज्ञपात्र देव मेरे अग्निहोत्र का सेवन करें. पृथ्वी हमें पार्थिव पाप तथा अंतरिक्ष हमें दिव्य पाप से बचावे. (५)
EN English Translation
Panchjan accept my call. May the God of the land and yajnapatra consume my agnihotra. Earth saves us from earthly sin and space saves us from divine sin. (5)
तन्तुं॑ त॒न्वन्रज॑सो भा॒नुमन्वि॑हि॒ ज्योति॑ष्मतः प॒थो र॑क्ष धि॒या कृ॒तान् । अ॒नु॒ल्ब॒णं व॑यत॒ जोगु॑वा॒मपो॒ मनु॑र्भव ज॒नया॒ दैव्यं॒ जन॑म् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम यज्ञ का विस्तार करते हुए लोकभासक सूर्य का अनुगमन करो तथा उन ज्योतिपूर्ण मार्गो की रक्षा करो, जिन्हें यज्ञकर्म द्वारा प्राप्त किया जाता है. अग्नि स्तोताओं का कार्य दोषरहित बनावें. हे अग्नि! तुम स्तुतियोग्य बनो और देवसमूह को यज्ञाभिमुख बनाओ. (६)
EN English Translation
O agni! You should follow the sun of the folk while extending the yajna and protect the glorious paths which are attained by yajnakarma. Make the work of agni stoetas flawless. O agni! Be praiseworthy and make the godly group yajna-oriented. (6)
अ॒क्षा॒नहो॑ नह्यतनो॒त सो॑म्या॒ इष्कृ॑णुध्वं रश॒ना ओत पिं॑शत । अ॒ष्टाव॑न्धुरं वहता॒भितो॒ रथं॒ येन॑ दे॒वासो॒ अन॑यन्न॒भि प्रि॒यम् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोमरस के योग्य देवो! तुम रथों में घोड़ों को जोड़ो, लगामें साफ करो एवं घोड़ों को सजाओ. तुम सारथि के बैठने वाले आठ स्थानों से युक्त रथ को सूर्य के साथ यज्ञ में लाओ. इसी रथ के द्वारा देवगण यज्ञ में आते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
O gods worthy of somers! You add horses to the chariots, clean the decks and decorate the horses. You bring the chariot containing the eight places of sarathi to the yagna with the sun. It is through this chariot that the Devas come to the yagna. (7)
अश्म॑न्वती रीयते॒ सं र॑भध्व॒मुत्ति॑ष्ठत॒ प्र त॑रता सखायः । अत्रा॑ जहाम॒ ये अस॒न्नशे॑वाः शि॒वान्व॒यमुत्त॑रेमा॒भि वाजा॑न् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अश्मन्वती नामक नदी बह रही है. यज्ञ में आने के लिए इस नदी को पार करने हेतु उठो और इसे पार कर जाओ. हे मित्र बने हुए देवो! हम असुख को त्याग कर नदी पार करें और सुखकर अन्नों को पावें. (८)
EN English Translation
The river named Ashmanvati is flowing. Get up to cross this river to come to the yagna and cross it. O friends, God! Let us leave the unsung and cross the river and find the grains happily. (8)
त्वष्टा॑ मा॒या वे॑द॒पसा॑म॒पस्त॑मो॒ बिभ्र॒त्पात्रा॑ देव॒पाना॑नि॒ शंत॑मा । शिशी॑ते नू॒नं प॑र॒शुं स्वा॑य॒सं येन॑ वृ॒श्चादेत॑शो॒ ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पतिः॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
त्वष्टा पात्र बनाना जानते हैं. अतिशय शोभन कर्म वाले त्वष्टा देवों के पानकर्म में प्रयुक्त सोमपात्रों को धारण करते हैं. वे उत्तम लोहे से बने हुए कुठार को तेज करते हैं. ब्रह्मणस्पति त्वष्टा उसी कुठार से लकड़ी काटते हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
Know how to make a skin container. The rituals with extreme adornments hold the somapatras used in the pan-karma of the gods. They sharpen the axes made of the perfect iron. Brahmanaspati Tavastha cuts wood from the same axe. (9)
स॒तो नू॒नं क॑वयः॒ सं शि॑शीत॒ वाशी॑भि॒र्याभि॑र॒मृता॑य॒ तक्ष॑थ । वि॒द्वांसः॑ प॒दा गुह्या॑नि कर्तन॒ येन॑ दे॒वासो॑ अमृत॒त्वमा॑न॒शुः ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मेधावियो! उस कुठार को तेज करो, जिसके द्वारा सोमपान के लिए पात्र बनाए जाते हैं. हे विद्वानो! तुम ऐसा गुप्त निवासस्थान बनाओ, जिसके कारण देवों ने अमरत्व प्राप्त किया. (१०)
EN English Translation
O genius! Speed up the axe by which the characters are made for the sompan. O scholars! You make such a secret dwelling place, because of which the gods attained immortality. (10)
गर्भे॒ योषा॒मद॑धुर्व॒त्समा॒सन्य॑पी॒च्ये॑न॒ मन॑सो॒त जि॒ह्वया॑ । स वि॒श्वाहा॑ सु॒मना॑ यो॒ग्या अ॒भि सि॑षा॒सनि॑र्वनते का॒र इज्जिति॑म् ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
उन ऋभुओं ने मरी हुई गाय के चमड़े में किसी गाय को धारण किया तथा उस मरी हुई गाय के मुख में बछड़े को रखा. यह कार्य उन्होंने देवत्व की कामना करने वाले मन के द्वारा किया. आवश्यकरूप से सभी दिवसों में उत्तम स्तुतियां ग्रहण करने वाले ऋभुगण शत्रुओं को जीतते हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
The sages wore a cow in the leather of the dead cow and placed the calf in the mouth of the dead cow. He did this work through a mind that wished for divinity. The sages who necessarily receive the best praises on all the days conquer the enemies. (11)
