दे॒वानां॒ नु व॒यं जाना॒ प्र वो॑चाम विप॒न्यया॑ । उ॒क्थेषु॑ श॒स्यमा॑नेषु॒ यः पश्या॒दुत्त॑रे यु॒गे ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम स्पष्ट शब्दों में देवों की उत्पत्ति का वर्णन करते हैं. ये देव भविष्य में स्तोत्रों के उच्चारण के समय स्तोता को देखेंगे. (१)
EN English Translation
We describe the origin of the gods in clear terms. These gods will see the stotha at the time of the pronunciation of the hymns in the future. (1)
ब्रह्म॑ण॒स्पति॑रे॒ता सं क॒र्मार॑ इवाधमत् । दे॒वानां॑ पू॒र्व्ये यु॒गेऽस॑तः॒ सद॑जायत ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
लोहार जिस प्रकार धौंकनी चलाता है, उसी प्रकार ब्रह्मणस्पति ने देवों को उत्पन्न किया. देवों से पूर्व के समय में असत् से सत् उत्पन्न हुआ. (२)
EN English Translation
Just as the blacksmith wields the blower, so brahmaspati produced the gods. In the time before the gods, the truth arose from the asat. (2)
दे॒वानां॑ यु॒गे प्र॑थ॒मेऽस॑तः॒ सद॑जायत । तदाशा॒ अन्व॑जायन्त॒ तदु॑त्ता॒नप॑द॒स्परि॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
देवों की उत्पत्ति से पहले के समय में असत् से सत् उत्पन्न हुआ. इसके बाद दिशाएं उत्पन्न हुईं. दिशाओं से वृक्ष उत्पन्न हुए. (३)
EN English Translation
In the time before the origin of the gods came the truth from the asat. Directions were then generated. Trees originated from the directions. (3)
भूर्ज॑ज्ञ उत्ता॒नप॑दो भु॒व आशा॑ अजायन्त । अदि॑ते॒र्दक्षो॑ अजायत॒ दक्षा॒द्वदि॑तिः॒ परि॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वृक्षों से भूमि उत्पन्न हुई एवं भूमि से दिशाएं उत्पन्न हुई. अदिति से दक्ष उत्पन्न हुए और बाद में दक्ष से अदिति उत्पन्न हुई. (४)
EN English Translation
The trees produced the land and the directions from the ground arose. Daksha was born from Aditi and later Aditi was born from Daksha. (4)
अदि॑ति॒र्ह्यज॑निष्ट॒ दक्ष॒ या दु॑हि॒ता तव॑ । तां दे॒वा अन्व॑जायन्त भ॒द्रा अ॒मृत॑बन्धवः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे दक्ष! तुम्हारी पुत्री अदिति ने देवों को उत्पन्न किया. अदिति के पश्चात् प्रशंसनीय एवं अमृत के बंधु देवों ने जन्म लिया. (५)
EN English Translation
O Daksha! Your daughter Aditi created the gods. After Aditi, the brothers of admirable and nectar were born devas. (5)
यद्दे॑वा अ॒दः स॑लि॒ले सुसं॑रब्धा॒ अति॑ष्ठत । अत्रा॑ वो॒ नृत्य॑तामिव ती॒व्रो रे॒णुरपा॑यत ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे देवो! जब तुम इस जल में रहकर अपने को जानते हुए स्थित थे, तब तुम नृत्य सा करने लगे. इससे बहुत धूल उड़ी. (६)
EN English Translation
Oh, God! When you were in this water knowing yourself, you began to dance. It caused a lot of dust. (6)
यद्दे॑वा॒ यत॑यो यथा॒ भुव॑ना॒न्यपि॑न्वत । अत्रा॑ समु॒द्र आ गू॒ळ्हमा सूर्य॑मजभर्तन ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बादल जिस प्रकार वर्षा द्वारा संसार को भरते हैं, उसी प्रकार देवों ने संसार को ढक लिया. उन्होंने सागर में ढके हुए सूर्य को चमकने के लिए बाहर निकाला. (७)
EN English Translation
Just as the clouds fill the world with rain, so the gods have covered the world. They pulled out the sun covered in the ocean to shine. (7)
अ॒ष्टौ पु॒त्रासो॒ अदि॑ते॒र्ये जा॒तास्त॒न्व१॒॑स्परि॑ । दे॒वाँ उप॒ प्रैत्स॒प्तभिः॒ परा॑ मार्ता॒ण्डमा॑स्यत् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अदिति के शरीर से आठ पुत्र उत्पन्न हुए. उन में से सात के साथ वह देवलोक में चली गई. आठवां सूर्य आकाश में स्थित हुआ. (८)
EN English Translation
Eight sons were born from Aditi's body. With seven of them she went to Devlok. The eighth sun is located in the sky. (8)
स॒प्तभिः॑ पु॒त्रैरदि॑ति॒रुप॒ प्रैत्पू॒र्व्यं यु॒गम् । प्र॒जायै॑ मृ॒त्यवे॑ त्व॒त्पुन॑र्मार्ता॒ण्डमाभ॑रत् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
प्राचीनकाल में अदिति सात पुत्रों के साथ देवलोक में चली गई. केवल सूर्य को प्रजाओं के जन्म-मरण के लिए आकाश में स्थिर किया. (९)
EN English Translation
In ancient times, Aditi moved to Devaloka with seven sons. Only the sun stabilized in the sky for the birth and death of the subjects. (9)
