कं न॑श्चि॒त्रमि॑षण्यसि चिकि॒त्वान्पृ॑थु॒ग्मानं॑ वा॒श्रं वा॑वृ॒धध्यै॑ । कत्तस्य॒ दातु॒ शव॑सो॒ व्यु॑ष्टौ॒ तक्ष॒द्वज्रं॑ वृत्र॒तुर॒मपि॑न्वत् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम ठीक से जानबूझकर हमें विचित्र धन देते हो. तुम हमारी वृद्धि के लिए वृद्धिशील एवं प्रशंसनीय संपत्ति देते हो. इंद्र के बल की वृद्धि के लिए हमें क्या देना पड़ेगा? त्वष्टा ने इंद्र के लिए वृत्रनाशक वज्र बनाया और उन्होंने वर्षा की है. (१)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You properly deliberately give us strange money. You give incremental and laudable wealth for our growth. What do we have to pay for the increase of Indra's force? Tvashta made vajra for Indra and he has rained. (1)
स हि द्यु॒ता वि॒द्युता॒ वेति॒ साम॑ पृ॒थुं योनि॑मसुर॒त्वा स॑साद । स सनी॑ळेभिः प्रसहा॒नो अ॑स्य॒ भ्रातु॒र्न ऋ॒ते स॒प्तथ॑स्य मा॒याः ॥ (२)

इंद्र दीप्तिशाली आयुध से युक्त होकर यज्ञ में गाए जाते सामगीत सुनने जाते हैं एवं बलपूर्वक अनेक स्थानों पर बैठते हैं. आदित्यों के सातवें भाई एवं सदा साथ रहने वाले मरुतों के सहयोग से शत्रु को हराने वाले इंद्र को छोड़कर कोई कार्य होना संभव नहीं है. (२)
EN English Translation
Indra, armed with a bright armament, goes to listen to the songs sung in the yajna and sits at many places by force. With the help of the seventh brother of the Adityas and the Maruts who are always together, it is not possible to do any work except Indra, who defeated the enemy. (2)
स वाजं॒ याताप॑दुष्पदा॒ यन्स्व॑र्षाता॒ परि॑ षदत्सनि॒ष्यन् । अ॒न॒र्वा यच्छ॒तदु॑रस्य॒ वेदो॒ घ्नञ्छि॒श्नदे॑वाँ अ॒भि वर्प॑सा॒ भूत् ॥ (३)

संग्राम में जाने वाले के लिए इंद्र स्खलनरहित गति से जाते हैं एवं शत्रुओं का धन अपने भक्तों में बांटने की इच्छा से संग्राम में स्थित होते हैं. युद्ध में स्थिर इंद्र शत्रु की सौ द्वारों वाली नगरी में स्थित धन को जानकर अपने बल से लाते हैं एवं इंद्रियपरायण दुरात्माओं को हराते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
For those who go to the battle, Indra goes at a ejaculatory motion and is situated in the battle with the desire to distribute the wealth of the enemies among his devotees. In the war, indra, who is stable, knows the money located in the city of hundred gates of the enemy and brings it with his strength and defeats the senseless demons. (3)
स य॒ह्व्यो॒३॒॑ऽवनी॒र्गोष्वर्वा जु॑होति प्रध॒न्या॑सु॒ सस्रिः॑ । अ॒पादो॒ यत्र॒ युज्या॑सोऽर॒था द्रो॒ण्य॑श्वास॒ ईर॑ते घृ॒तं वाः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मेघों में गतिशील एवं चलने में कुशल इंद्र उत्तम धन वाली धरती में महान् जलों को बिखेरते हैं. वहां चरणरहित एवं रथविहीन अर्थात् छोटी-छोटी नदियां एकत्र होकर बिना नावों के घृत के समान जल बहाती हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
Indra, who is moving in the clouds and skilled in walking, scatters great water in the earth with good wealth. There, phaseless and chariotless, that is, small rivers, gather and flow water like a ghrit without boats. (4)
स रु॒द्रेभि॒रश॑स्तवार॒ ऋभ्वा॑ हि॒त्वी गय॑मा॒रेअ॑वद्य॒ आगा॑त् । व॒म्रस्य॑ मन्ये मिथु॒ना विव॑व्री॒ अन्न॑म॒भीत्या॑रोदयन्मुषा॒यन् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्तोताओं के बिना मांगे ही धन देने वाले एवं महान् इंद्र मरुतों के साथ अपना स्थान छोड़ कर आवें. मैं समझता हूं कि मुझ वम्र ऋषि के माता-पिता रोगरहित हो गए हैं. मैं शत्रुओं का धन छीनकर उन्हें रुलाता हूं. (५)
EN English Translation
Leave your place with the great Indra Maruts, who give money without asking for the psalms. I understand that my parents have become diseaseless. I take away the money of enemies and make them cry. (5)
स इद्दासं॑ तुवी॒रवं॒ पति॒र्दन्ष॑ळ॒क्षं त्रि॑शी॒र्षाणं॑ दमन्यत् । अ॒स्य त्रि॒तो न्वोज॑सा वृधा॒नो वि॒पा व॑रा॒हमयो॑अग्रया हन् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्वामी इंद्र ने हल्ला मचाने वाले दासों का दमन किया था तथा तीन सिर वाले एवं छः आंखों वाले विश्वरूप को मारा था. त्रित ने इंद्र की शक्ति से बढ़कर लोहे के समान उंगलियों से वराह का नाश किया था. (६)
EN English Translation
Swami Indra had suppressed the slaves who made a hue and cry and killed the three-headed and six-eyed Vishwaroop. Trit had destroyed Varaha with iron-like fingers more than the power of Indra. (6)
स द्रुह्व॑णे॒ मनु॑ष ऊर्ध्वसा॒न आ सा॑विषदर्शसा॒नाय॒ शरु॑म् । स नृत॑मो॒ नहु॑षो॒ऽस्मत्सुजा॑तः॒ पुरो॑ऽभिन॒दर्ह॑न्दस्यु॒हत्ये॑ ॥ (७)

इंद्र शत्रुओं द्वारा युद्ध के लिए ललकारे गए अपने भक्त को शौर्य आदि गुणों से युक्त करके शत्रुनाश में समर्थ बना देते हैं एवं उसे मारने के लिए शस्त्र प्रदान करते हैं. मनुष्यों के सर्वश्रेष्ठ नेता एवं हमारे लिए उत्पन्न इंद्र पूज्य बनकर युद्ध में शन्रुनगरियों को भेदते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
Indra makes his devotee challenged for war by the enemies capable of destroying the enemy by equipping him with qualities like bravery etc. and provides weapons to kill him. Indra, the best leader of human beings and born for us, becomes revered and penetrates the cities in battle. (7)
सो अ॒भ्रियो॒ न यव॑स उद॒न्यन्क्षया॑य गा॒तुं वि॒दन्नो॑ अ॒स्मे । उप॒ यत्सीद॒दिन्दुं॒ शरी॑रैः श्ये॒नोऽयो॑पाष्टिर्हन्ति॒ दस्यू॑न् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
वे इंद्र मेघ समूह के समान घास पैदा होने के लिए जल गिराना चाहते हैं तथा हमारे निवासस्थान के लिए हमें मार्ग बताते हैं. वे जब अपने शरीर के सभी अंगों से सोम प्राप्त करते हैं, तब बाज पक्षी के समान लोहमय पीठ वाले बनकर शत्रुओं को मारते हैं (८)
EN English Translation
They want to drop water to produce grass like the Indra Megh group and tell us the way to our habitat. When they receive soma from all parts of their body, hawks kill enemies by becoming lohmy back like a bird (8)
स व्राध॑तः शवसा॒नेभि॑रस्य॒ कुत्सा॑य॒ शुष्णं॑ कृ॒पणे॒ परा॑दात् । अ॒यं क॒विम॑नयच्छ॒स्यमा॑न॒मत्कं॒ यो अ॑स्य॒ सनि॑तो॒त नृ॒णाम् ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र महान् शत्रुओं को आयुधों द्वारा भगा देते हैं. उन्होंने कुत्स के स्तोत्र के कारण शुष्ण असुर को मारा था. इद्र ने स्तुति करने वाले उशना कवि के विरोधियों को वश में किया था. वे उशना एवं अन्य मानवों को दान देने वाले हैं. (९)
EN English Translation
Indra drives away great enemies with weapons. He killed the dry asura because of the stotra of Kutsa. Idra had subdued the opponents of the praising Ushna poet. They are going to donate to Ushna and other human beings. (9)
अ॒यं द॑श॒स्यन्नर्ये॑भिरस्य द॒स्मो दे॒वेभि॒र्वरु॑णो॒ न मा॒यी । अ॒यं क॒नीन॑ ऋतु॒पा अ॑वे॒द्यमि॑मीता॒ररुं॒ यश्चतु॑ष्पात् ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इंद्र ने स्तोताओं को धन देने की इच्छा से मरुतों के साथ धन भेजा. इंद्र अपने तेज के कारण वरुण के समान शक्तिशाली हैं. सुंदर इंद्र समय पर रक्षा करने वाले जाने जाते हैं. उन्होंने चार पैरों वाले अररू नामक असुर को मारा. (१०)
EN English Translation
Indra sent money with the Maruts with the desire to give money to the psalms. Indra is as powerful as Varuna because of his sharpness. The beautiful Indra is known to be the protector at the time. He killed a four-legged asura named Arru. (10)
अ॒स्य स्तोमे॑भिरौशि॒ज ऋ॒जिश्वा॑ व्र॒जं द॑रयद्वृष॒भेण॒ पिप्रोः॑ । सुत्वा॒ यद्य॑ज॒तो दी॒दय॒द्गीः पुर॑ इया॒नो अ॒भि वर्प॑सा॒ भूत् ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
उशिज के पुत्र ऋजिश्वा ने इंद्र की स्तुतियों की सहायता से वज्र द्वारा विप्रु की गोशाला तुड़वाई थी. जब सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले तथा यज्ञकर्ता उशिज ने स्तुतियां कीं, तब इंद्र ने आगे बढ़ते अपने रूप द्वारा शत्रुनगरों को पराजित किया. (११)
EN English Translation
Ushija's son Rishishwa, with the help of Indra's praises, broke vipru's cowshed by Vajra. When Someras squeeze and yajnakar Ushij praised, Indra went ahead and defeated the enemy cities with his form. (11)
ए॒वा म॒हो अ॑सुर व॒क्षथा॑य वम्र॒कः प॒ड्भिरुप॑ सर्प॒दिन्द्र॑म् । स इ॑या॒नः क॑रति स्व॒स्तिम॑स्मा॒ इष॒मूर्जं॑ सुक्षि॒तिं विश्व॒माभाः॑ ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शक्तिशाली इंद्र! मैं वज्र ऋषि तुम्हें महान् हवि देने की इच्छा से पैदल चलकर तुम्हारे पास आया हूं. तुम मेरे समीप आकर मेरा कल्याण करो तथा मुझे अन्न, रस, शोभन-निवास आदि सभी वस्तुएं दो. (१२)
EN English Translation
O mighty Indra! I, Vajra Rishi, have come to you on foot with the desire to give you great glory. You come near me and do good to me and give me all the things like food, juice, shobhan-niwas etc. (12)
