उ॒तो हि वां॑ दा॒त्रा सन्ति॒ पूर्वा॒ या पू॒रुभ्य॑स्त्र॒सद॑स्युर्नितो॒शे । क्षे॒त्रा॒सां द॑दथुरुर्वरा॒सां घ॒नं दस्यु॑भ्यो अ॒भिभू॑तिमु॒ग्रम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे द्यावा-पृथ्वी! प्राचीन काल में त्रसदस्यु नामक राजा ने धन पाकर मांगने वाले लोगों को दिया था. तुमने उसे घोड़ा, पुत्र एवं दस्युजनों को नष्ट करने योग्य बल दिया था. (१)
EN English Translation
This is the earth! In ancient times, a king named Trasadsyu gave money to the people who were asking for money. You gave him the strength to destroy the horse, the son and the bandits. (1)
उ॒त वा॒जिनं॑ पुरुनि॒ष्षिध्वा॑नं दधि॒क्रामु॑ ददथुर्वि॒श्वकृ॑ष्टिम् । ऋ॒जि॒प्यं श्ये॒नं प्रु॑षि॒तप्सु॑मा॒शुं च॒र्कृत्य॑म॒र्यो नृ॒पतिं॒ न शूर॑म् ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे द्यावा-पृथ्वी! तुम दोनों गमनशील, बहुत से शत्रुओं को रोकने वाली, समस्त प्रजाओं की रक्षा करने वाली, शोभन-गति वाली, दीप्तिशालिनी, तेज चलने वाली एवं राजा के समान शूर दधिक्रा को धारण करते हो. (२)
EN English Translation
This is the earth! You both wear a moving, a protector of many enemies, protecting all the people, a beautical, a radiant, a fast-moving, and a king-like brave. (2)
यं सी॒मनु॑ प्र॒वते॑व॒ द्रव॑न्तं॒ विश्वः॑ पू॒रुर्मद॑ति॒ हर्ष॑माणः । प॒ड्भिर्गृध्य॑न्तं मेध॒युं न शूरं॑ रथ॒तुरं॒ वात॑मिव॒ ध्रज॑न्तम् ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
धरती-आकाश उस दधिक्रा को धारण करते हैं, जिसकी स्तुति प्रसन्तापूर्वक सभी मनुष्य किया करते हैं. जिस तरह जल नीचे बहता है, वे उसी तरह गतिशील, युद्ध की इच्छा करने वाले, वीर के समान दिशाओं को लांघने हेतु तत्पर, रथ पर बैठकर चलने वाले एवं हवा की तरह तेज चलने वाले हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
The earth and the heavens hold on to the temple, which is praised by all men. Just as the water flows down, they are so dynamic, war-seeking, ready to cross the same directions as heroic, walking on chariots, and fast as the wind. (3)
यः स्मा॑रुन्धा॒नो गध्या॑ स॒मत्सु॒ सनु॑तर॒श्चर॑ति॒ गोषु॒ गच्छ॑न् । आ॒विरृ॑जीको वि॒दथा॑ नि॒चिक्य॑त्ति॒रो अ॑र॒तिं पर्याप॑ आ॒योः ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो देव मिले हुए पदार्थो को संग्राम में पृथक्-पृथक् करता हुआ उपभोग करने के लिए सभी दिशाओं में जाता है, जिसकी शक्ति प्रकट है, जो जानने योग्य बातों को जानता है एवं स्तुति करने वाले यजमान के शत्रुओं का तिरस्कार करता है. (४)
EN English Translation
The God who goes in all directions to consume the things that are mixed in the struggle separately, whose power is manifest, who knows what is worth knowing and despises the enemies of the host who praises. (4)
उ॒त स्मै॑नं वस्त्र॒मथिं॒ न ता॒युमनु॑ क्रोशन्ति क्षि॒तयो॒ भरे॑षु । नी॒चाय॑मानं॒ जसु॑रिं॒ न श्ये॒नं श्रव॒श्चाच्छा॑ पशु॒मच्च॑ यू॒थम् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
लोग संग्राम में दधिक्रा देव को देखकर उसी प्रकार चीखते-चिल्लाते हैं, जिस प्रकार कोई मनुष्य वस्त्र चुराने वाले चोर को देखकर चिल्लाता है. जिस प्रकार नीचे की ओर उतरते हुए भूखे बाज को देखकर पक्षी भाग जाते हैं, उसी प्रकार अन्न एवं पशु समूह को नष्ट करने के विचार से चलने वाले दधिक्रा को देखकर लोग भाग उठते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
People see Dadhidra Dev in the struggle and shout in the same way as a man shouts when he sees a thief stealing clothes. Just as birds run away when they see the hungry hawk descending downwards, so people run away when they see the dadhidra that runs with the idea of destroying the food and animal group. (5)
उ॒त स्मा॑सु प्रथ॒मः स॑रि॒ष्यन्नि वे॑वेति॒ श्रेणि॑भी॒ रथा॑नाम् । स्रजं॑ कृण्वा॒नो जन्यो॒ न शुभ्वा॑ रे॒णुं रेरि॑हत्कि॒रणं॑ दद॒श्वान् ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
दधिक्रा देव असुरों की सेनाओं में जाने के इच्छुक होकर उन में श्रेष्ठ स्थान पाते हुए रथ की पंक्तियों के साथ चलते हैं. वे मानव-हितकारी घोड़े के समान अलंकृत हैं, धूल उड़ाते हैं एवं लगाम को बार-बार चबाते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
The Dadhidra Devas, willing to go to the armies of the Asuras, walk along the lines of the chariots, finding the best place in them. They are as ornate as a man-friendly horse, blowing dust and chewing the reins again and again. (6)
उ॒त स्य वा॒जी सहु॑रिरृ॒तावा॒ शुश्रू॑षमाणस्त॒न्वा॑ सम॒र्ये । तुरं॑ य॒तीषु॑ तु॒रय॑न्नृजि॒प्योऽधि॑ भ्रु॒वोः कि॑रते रे॒णुमृ॒ञ्जन् ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
दधिक्रा देव इस प्रकार के घोड़ों के समान युद्ध में सहनशील, शत्रुओं के अन्न पर अधिकार करने वाले, अपने अंगों से ही अपनी सेवा करने वाले, सीधे चलने वाले, असुर सेनाओं में वेगपूर्ण, धूल उड़ाने वाले एवं उस धूल को अपनी ही भौंहों पर गिराने वाले हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
The Dadhidra Dev is tolerant of war like this type of horses, who possesses the food of the enemies, who serves himself with his own limbs, who walks straight, is swift in the asura armies, who blows the dust, and who is going to drop that dust on his own eyebrows. (7)
उ॒त स्मा॑स्य तन्य॒तोरि॑व॒ द्योरृ॑घाय॒तो अ॑भि॒युजो॑ भयन्ते । य॒दा स॒हस्र॑म॒भि षी॒मयो॑धीद्दु॒र्वर्तुः॑ स्मा भवति भी॒म ऋ॒ञ्जन् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
असुर दधिक्रा देव से इस प्रकार डरते हैं, जिस प्रकार लड़ने वाले लोग शब्द करते हुए वज्र से डरते हैं. वे चारों ओर हजारों लोगों से युद्ध करते हुए उत्तेजित अवस्था में अत्यंत भयंकर लगते हैं. कोई भी उन्हें रोकने का साहस नहीं कर पाता. (८)
EN English Translation
The asuras are afraid of The Dadhikra Dev in the same way that those who fight are afraid of the thunderbolt while saying words. They seem extremely fierce in an excited state while fighting thousands of people around. No one dares to stop them. (8)
उ॒त स्मा॑स्य पनयन्ति॒ जना॑ जू॒तिं कृ॑ष्टि॒प्रो अ॒भिभू॑तिमा॒शोः । उ॒तैन॑माहुः समि॒थे वि॒यन्तः॒ परा॑ दधि॒क्रा अ॑सरत्स॒हस्रैः॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मनुष्य इन दधिक्रा देव की सर्वाधिक गति की स्तुति करते हैं. वे मनुष्यों की अभिलाषा पूरी करने वाले एवं व्याप्त हैं. वे इनसे कहते हैं कि जब आप हजारों सैनिकों के साथ चलेंगे तो शत्रु हार जाएंगे. (९)
EN English Translation
Human beings praise the highest speed of these two-fold gods. They are the ones who fulfill the desires of human beings and are pervasive. They tell them that when you walk with thousands of soldiers, the enemies will be defeated. (9)
आ द॑धि॒क्राः शव॑सा॒ पञ्च॑ कृ॒ष्टीः सूर्य॑ इव॒ ज्योति॑षा॒पस्त॑तान । स॒ह॒स्र॒साः श॑त॒सा वा॒ज्यर्वा॑ पृ॒णक्तु॒ मध्वा॒ समि॒मा वचां॑सि ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सूर्य जिस प्रकार अपनी ज्योति से जल का विस्तार करते हैं, उसी प्रकार दधिक्रा देव अपने बल से पांचों प्रकार की प्रजाओं की वृद्धि करते हैं. सैकड़ों और हजारों धन देने वाले वेगशाली दधिक्रा देव हमारी स्तुतियां सुनकर मधुर फल दें. (१०)
EN English Translation
Just as the sun expands water with its light, so the Dadhidra Devas increase the five kinds of subjects by their own force. The mighty God, who gives hundreds and thousands of riches, will hear our praises and give us sweet fruits. (10)
