प्र॒यु॒ञ्ज॒ती दि॒व ए॑ति ब्रुवा॒णा म॒ही मा॒ता दु॑हि॒तुर्बो॒धय॑न्ती । आ॒विवा॑सन्ती युव॒तिर्म॑नी॒षा पि॒तृभ्य॒ आ सद॑ने॒ जोहु॑वाना ॥ (१)

सेवा करती हुई, नित्यतरुणी व स्तुति वाली उषा बुलाने पर स्वर्ग से देवों के साथ यज्ञशाला में आती हैं, मानवों को यज्ञकार्य में लगाती हैं और धरती को इस प्रकार चेतन बनाती हैं, जैसे कोई माता कन्या को बोध देती है. (१)
EN English Translation
Usha, who is serving, with nityataruni and praise, on being called, comes to the yagnashala with the gods from heaven, engages the human beings in the work of yajna and makes the earth conscious in such a way that a mother gives the realization to the girl child. (1)
अ॒जि॒रास॒स्तद॑प॒ ईय॑माना आतस्थि॒वांसो॑ अ॒मृत॑स्य॒ नाभि॑म् । अ॒न॒न्तास॑ उ॒रवो॑ वि॒श्वतः॑ सीं॒ परि॒ द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी य॑न्ति॒ पन्थाः॑ ॥ (२)

अपरिमित, व्याप्त एवं प्रकाशनरूप कर्म करती हुई सूर्यकिरणें सूर्य मंडल के साथ एकत्र होकर स्वर्ग, धरती एवं आकाश में गतिशील होती हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
The sun-rays, which are infinite, pervasive and perform enlightening deeds, move together with the solar system and move in heaven, earth and sky. (2)
उ॒क्षा स॑मु॒द्रो अ॑रु॒षः सु॑प॒र्णः पूर्व॑स्य॒ योनिं॑ पि॒तुरा वि॑वेश । मध्ये॑ दि॒वो निहि॑तः॒ पृश्नि॒रश्मा॒ वि च॑क्रमे॒ रज॑सस्पा॒त्यन्तौ॑ ॥ (३)

अभिलाषाएं पूर्ण करने वाले, देवों को प्रमुदित करने वाले, दीप्तिशाली व शोभन- गतियुक्त रथ ने अंतरिक्ष की पूर्व दिशा में प्रवेश किया था. इसके बाद स्वर्ग के बीच में छिपे हुए, विविध रंगों वाले एवं सर्वव्यापक सूर्य आकाश के पूर्व और पश्चिम भाग में विचरण करके रक्षा करते रहें. (३)
EN English Translation
The chariot, which fulfilled the desires, adored the gods, had entered the eastern direction of space. After this, the hidden, diverse-colored and ubiquitous sun hidden in the middle of heaven, move around the east and west of the sky and protect it. (3)
च॒त्वार॑ ईं बिभ्रति क्षेम॒यन्तो॒ दश॒ गर्भं॑ च॒रसे॑ धापयन्ते । त्रि॒धात॑वः पर॒मा अ॑स्य॒ गावो॑ दि॒वश्च॑रन्ति॒ परि॑ स॒द्यो अन्ता॑न् ॥ (४)

अपने कल्याण की अभिलाषा वाले चार ऋत्विज् स्तुतियों एवं हव्य द्वारा सूर्य को धारण करते हैं. दश-दिशाएं सूर्य को चलने के लिए प्रेरित करती हैं. सूर्य की तीन प्रकार की किरणें उत्तमतापूर्वक आकाश के अंत तक शीघ्रतापूर्वक गमन करती हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
The four ritwijs who desire their welfare hold the sun through hymns and havans. The dashing directions motivate the sun to move. The three types of sun's rays move quickly to the end of the sky. (4)
इ॒दं वपु॑र्नि॒वच॑नं जनास॒श्चर॑न्ति॒ यन्न॒द्य॑स्त॒स्थुरापः॑ । द्वे यदीं॑ बिभृ॒तो मा॒तुर॒न्ये इ॒हेह॑ जा॒ते य॒म्या॒३॒॑ सब॑न्धू ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋत्विजो! सामने दिखाई देता हुआ यह मंडल अतिशय स्तुति योग्य है. इसमें शोभन नदियां बहती हैं एवं हमारा पालन करती हैं. अंतरिक्ष के अतिरिक्त माता-पिता के समान धरती और आकाश स्थित रात-दिन इसीसे उत्पन्न होते हैं एवं इसे धारण करते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Hey Ritvijo! This circle that appears in front is highly praiseworthy. In it, shobhan rivers flow and follow us. Apart from space, the earth and the sky, like the parents, arise from it day and day, and hold it. (5)
वि त॑न्वते॒ धियो॑ अस्मा॒ अपां॑सि॒ वस्त्रा॑ पु॒त्राय॑ मा॒तरो॑ वयन्ति । उ॒प॒प्र॒क्षे वृष॑णो॒ मोद॑माना दि॒वस्प॒था व॒ध्वो॑ य॒न्त्यच्छ॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
इसी सूर्य के लिए बुद्धिमान् यजमान यज्ञकर्म आरंभ करते हैं. उषारूपी माताएं इसी के लिए तेजस्वी कपड़े बुनती हैं. वर्षाकारी सूर्य के मिलन से प्रसन्न पत्नीरूपी किरणें आकाश मार्ग से हमारे पास आती हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
For this sun, the wise people begin the yajnakarma. Ushari's mothers weave stunning clothes for this. Happy with the meeting of the rainy sun, the rays of the wife come to us from the way to the sky. (6)
तद॑स्तु मित्रावरुणा॒ तद॑ग्ने॒ शं योर॒स्मभ्य॑मि॒दम॑स्तु श॒स्तम् । अ॒शी॒महि॑ गा॒धमु॒त प्र॑ति॒ष्ठां नमो॑ दि॒वे बृ॑ह॒ते साद॑नाय ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्र व वरुण! यह स्तोत्र हमारे सुख का कारण हो. हे अग्नि! यह स्तोत्र हमें सुख दें. हम लंबी आयु एवं प्रतिष्ठा का अनुभव करें. दीप्तिशाली, महान् एवं सबको सुख देने वाले सूर्य को नमस्कार है. (७)
EN English Translation
Oh my friend and Varun! This hymn is the cause of our happiness. O agni! May this hymn make us happy. Let's experience longevity and reputation. Salutations are given to the bright, great and happy sun to all. (7)
