कदु॑ प्रि॒याय॒ धाम्ने॑ मनामहे॒ स्वक्ष॑त्राय॒ स्वय॑शसे म॒हे व॒यम् । आ॒मे॒न्यस्य॒ रज॑सो॒ यद॒भ्र आँ अ॒पो वृ॑णा॒ना वि॑त॒नोति॑ मा॒यिनी॑ ॥ (१)

हम सबके प्रिय विद्युत्-संबंधी तेज की स्तुति कब करेंगे? बल एवं यश उसका आधार हैं एवं वह सबका पूज्य है. वह शक्ति सब ओर से परिमित लगने वाले आकाश में वर्षा का विस्तार करती है. वह प्रज्ञावती एवं आकाश को ढकने वाली है. (१)
EN English Translation
When will we praise everyone's beloved electric lightning? Strength and fame are its foundation and it is revered by all. That power extends the rain to the sky that seems finite from all sides. She is going to cover pragyavati and the sky. (1)
ता अ॑त्नत व॒युनं॑ वी॒रव॑क्षणं समा॒न्या वृ॒तया॒ विश्व॒मा रजः॑ । अपो॒ अपा॑ची॒रप॑रा॒ अपे॑जते॒ प्र पूर्वा॑भिस्तिरते देव॒युर्जनः॑ ॥ (२)

क्या उषाएं ऋत्विजों द्वारा धारण करने योग्य ज्ञान का विस्तार करती हैं? वे एक रूप वाली आवरण शक्ति से सारे संसार को ढक लेती हैं. देवों की अभिलाषा करने वाले लोग पूर्ववर्तिनी एवं भविष्य में आने वाली उषाओं को छोड़कर सामने उपस्थित वर्तमान उषाओं से अज्ञान को लांघते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
Do the ushas expand the knowledge that the ritwijs hold? They cover the whole world with a form of cover power. The people who desire the gods, except for the predecessors and the future usha, violate ignorance from the present usha present in front of them. (2)
आ ग्राव॑भिरह॒न्ये॑भिर॒क्तुभि॒र्वरि॑ष्ठं॒ वज्र॒मा जि॑घर्ति मा॒यिनि॑ । श॒तं वा॒ यस्य॑ प्र॒चर॒न्स्वे दमे॑ संव॒र्तय॑न्तो॒ वि च॑ वर्तय॒न्नहा॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
पत्थरों द्वारा रात एवं दिन में तैयार किए गए सोमरस से प्रसन्न होकर इंद्र मायावी वृत्र को मारने के लिए वज्र को तेज बनाते हैं. इंद्ररूपी सूर्य की सैकड़ों किरणें दिनों को लाती एवं विदा करती हुई आकाश में घूमती हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
Pleased with the somras prepared by the stones at night and in the day, Indra sharpens the vajra to kill the elusive vritra. Hundreds of rays of the sun revolve in the sky, bringing in days and sending them away. (3)
ताम॑स्य री॒तिं प॑र॒शोरि॑व॒ प्रत्यनी॑कमख्यं भु॒जे अ॑स्य॒ वर्प॑सः । सचा॒ यदि॑ पितु॒मन्त॑मिव॒ क्षयं॒ रत्नं॒ दधा॑ति॒ भर॑हूतये वि॒शे ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अपने स्वामी का अभिमत पूरा करने वाले परशु के समान हम अग्नि की दीप्ति को देखते हैं. इस रूपवान् सूर्य की किरणों का वर्णन हम सुख पाने के निमित्त करते हैं. अग्नि देव हमारे सहायक होकर यज्ञशाला में आते हैं एवं यजमान को अन्न से भरा हुआ घर तथा उत्तम धन देते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
Like Parshu, who fulfills the opinion of his master, we see the glow of agni. We describe the rays of this forming sun for the sake of happiness. The agni god comes to the yajnashala as our helper and gives the host a house full of food and good wealth. (4)
स जि॒ह्वया॒ चतु॑रनीक ऋञ्जते॒ चारु॒ वसा॑नो॒ वरु॑णो॒ यत॑न्न॒रिम् । न तस्य॑ विद्म पुरुष॒त्वता॑ व॒यं यतो॒ भगः॑ सवि॒ता दाति॒ वार्य॑म् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि रमणीय तेज को धारण करते हुए अंधकाररूपी शत्रु का नाश करते हैं एवं चारों दिशाओं में ज्वालारूपी लपटें फैला कर सुशोभित होते हैं. हम पुरुष के समान आचरण करने वाले अग्नि को नहीं जानते, क्योंकि भगरूपी महान् सविता हमें उत्तम धन देते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
The agnis destroy the dark enemy by holding the delightful brightness and beautify by spreading flames in all four directions. We do not know agni who behaves like a man, because the great Savita of Bhagrupi gives us the best wealth. (5)
