त्वामिद्धि हवा॑महे सा॒ता वाज॑स्य का॒रवः॑ । त्वां वृ॒त्रेष्वि॑न्द्र॒ सत्प॑तिं॒ नर॒स्त्वां काष्ठा॒स्वर्व॑तः ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हम स्तोता अन्न प्राप्ति के कारण तुम्हें बुलाते हैं. अन्य लोग तुझ सज्जन पालक को घोड़ों वाले संग्राम में विजय पाने के लिए बुलाते है. (१)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We call you because of the sourdough food. Others call upon you to conquer the battle of horses. (1)
स त्वं न॑श्चित्र वज्रहस्त धृष्णु॒या म॒हः स्त॑वा॒नो अ॑द्रिवः । गामश्वं॑ र॒थ्य॑मिन्द्र॒ सं कि॑र स॒त्रा वाजं॒ न जि॒ग्युषे॑ ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे विचित्र, हाथ में वज्र धारण करने वाले, वज्र के स्वामी, शत्रुनाशक एवं महान् इंद्र! युद्ध में शत्रुओं को जीतने वाले को तुम जिस प्रकार बहुत सा अन्न देते हो, उसी प्रकार तुम हमारी स्तुतियों से प्रसन्न होकर हमें गाएं व रथ खींचने में कुशल घोड़े दो. (२)
EN English Translation
O you who are strange, those who hold the thunderbolt in their hands, the masters of the vajra, the enemy and the great Indra! Just as you give a lot of food to the conqueror of the enemies in battle, so you should sing to us by being pleased with our praises and give us horses skilled in pulling chariots. (2)
यः स॑त्रा॒हा विच॑र्षणि॒रिन्द्रं॒ तं हू॑महे व॒यम् । सह॑स्रमुष्क॒ तुवि॑नृम्ण॒ सत्प॑ते॒ भवा॑ स॒मत्सु॑ नो वृ॒धे ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो इंद्र प्रबल शत्रुओं को मारने वाले एवं सबको देखने वाले हैं, उन्हें हम बुलाते हैं. हे हजार रूपों (लिंगों) वाले, बहुधनसंपन्न एवं सज्जन पालक इंद्र! युद्धों में तुम हमें समृद्ध बनाओ. (३)
EN English Translation
We call Indra, who kills strong enemies and sees everyone. O Indra, the multi-rich and gentle guardian of a thousand forms (lingas)! In wars you make us prosperous. (3)
बाध॑से॒ जना॑न्वृष॒भेव॑ म॒न्युना॒ घृषौ॑ मी॒ळ्ह ऋ॑चीषम । अ॒स्माकं॑ बोध्यवि॒ता म॑हाध॒ने त॒नूष्व॒प्सु सूर्ये॑ ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋचाओं के अनुकूल रूप वाले इंद्र! तुम शत्रुबाधक युद्ध में बैल के समान क्रोध में भरकर हमारे शत्रुओं को पीड़ित करो. धन-निमित्तक महायुद्ध में तुम हमारे रक्षक बनो. हम संतान, जल एवं सूर्यदर्शन प्राप्त करें. (४)
EN English Translation
O Indra, who is friendly to the riches! You suffer our enemies by filling them with bull-like anger in a war that is anti-enemy. Be our protector in the world war for money. Let us get children, water and sunshine. (4)
इन्द्र॒ ज्येष्ठं॑ न॒ आ भ॑र॒ँ ओजि॑ष्ठं॒ पपु॑रि॒ श्रवः॑ । येने॒मे चि॑त्र वज्रहस्त॒ रोद॑सी॒ ओभे सु॑शिप्र॒ प्राः ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे विचित्र, हाथ में वज्र धारण करने वाले एवं सुंदर ठोड़ी वाले इंद्र! जिस अन्न के द्वारा तुम स्वर्ग एवं धरती का पोषण करते हो, हमें वही अधिक प्रशंसनीय, परम बलकारक एवं पुष्टिकारक अन्न दो. (५)
EN English Translation
O you strange, Indra with a thunderbolt in his hand and with a beautiful chin! The food by which you nourish heaven and earth, give us the more admirable, most powerful and confirmatory food. (5)
त्वामु॒ग्रमव॑से चर्षणी॒सहं॒ राज॑न्दे॒वेषु॑ हूमहे । विश्वा॒ सु नो॑ विथु॒रा पि॑ब्द॒ना व॑सो॒ऽमित्रा॑न्सु॒षहा॑न्कृधि ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे तेजस्वी, देवों में सर्वाधिक उग्र एवं शत्रुओं को हराने वाले इंद्र! हम अपनी रक्षा के निमित्त तुम्हें बुलाते हैं. हे निवासस्थान देने वाले इंद्र! तुम सब राक्षसों को दूर भगाओ एवं हमारे शत्रुओं को सरलता से हराने योग्य बनाओ. (६)
EN English Translation
O you radiant, Indra, the most furious of the gods and the one who defeats the enemies! We call you to protect ourselves. O Indra, who gives the abode! Drive away all the demons and make our enemies easily defeatable. (6)
यदि॑न्द्र॒ नाहु॑षी॒ष्वाँ ओजो॑ नृ॒म्णं च॑ कृ॒ष्टिषु॑ । यद्वा॒ पञ्च॑ क्षिती॒नां द्यु॒म्नमा भ॑र स॒त्रा विश्वा॑नि॒ पौंस्या॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! मानव प्रजाओं में जो बल एवं धन है अथवा पांच वर्णों में जो अन्न है, वह सब महान् शक्तियों के साथ हमें दो. (७)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Give us all the strength and wealth that is there in human beings, or the grain that is in the five varnas, with great powers. (7)
यद्वा॑ तृ॒क्षौ म॑घवन्द्रु॒ह्यावा जने॒ यत्पू॒रौ कच्च॒ वृष्ण्य॑म् । अ॒स्मभ्यं॒ तद्रि॑रीहि॒ सं नृ॒षाह्ये॒ऽमित्रा॑न्पृ॒त्सु तु॒र्वणे॑ ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे धनस्वामी इंद्र! तुम हमें तृक्षु,द्रह्मु एवं पुरु नामक राजाओं का समस्त बल दो. इस प्रकार हम युद्ध आरंभ होने पर शत्रुओं को जीत सकेंगे. (८)
EN English Translation
O Dhanaswami Indra! You give us all the strength of the kings named Trikhu, Drhumu and Puru. In this way, we will be able to conquer the enemies when the war starts. (8)
इन्द्र॑ त्रि॒धातु॑ शर॒णं त्रि॒वरू॑थं स्वस्ति॒मत् । छ॒र्दिर्य॑च्छ म॒घव॑द्भ्यश्च॒ मह्यं॑ च या॒वया॑ दि॒द्युमे॑भ्यः ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हव्यरूप धन वाले लोगों तथा हमारे लिए तीन धातुओं से बना हुआ, तीन कष्टों से बचाने वाला, विनाशरहित एवं छाया करने वाला घर दो. शत्रुओं के आयुध हमसे दूर करो. (९)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Give to those with wealth and for us a house made of three metals, protecting from three sufferings, without destruction and a shadow. Take the weapons of the enemies away from us. (9)
ये ग॑व्य॒ता मन॑सा॒ शत्रु॑माद॒भुर॑भिप्र॒घ्नन्ति॑ धृष्णु॒या । अध॑ स्मा नो मघवन्निन्द्र गिर्वणस्तनू॒पा अन्त॑मो भव ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे धनस्वामी एवं स्तुतियां सुनने वाले इंद्र! जिन शत्रुओं ने हमारी गाएं छीनने की इच्छा से आक्रमण किया है अथवा जो बलपूर्वक हम पर प्रहार करते हैं, तुम उनसे हमारे एकमात्र रक्षक बनो. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Richeswami and Indra who hears praises! Be our sole protector from the enemies who have attacked with the desire to snatch our cows or who strike us by force. (10)
अध॑ स्मा नो वृ॒धे भ॒वेन्द्र॑ ना॒यम॑वा यु॒धि । यद॒न्तरि॑क्षे प॒तय॑न्ति प॒र्णिनो॑ दि॒द्यव॑स्ति॒ग्ममू॑र्धानः ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! इस समय तुम हमारे वृद्धिकर्ता बनो. जब आकाश में पंखों वाले, तेज नोक वाले एवं चमकीले बाण गिरते हैं, उस समय जो हमारी रक्षा करता है, तुम उसकी रक्षा करो. (११)
EN English Translation
O Indra! At this time you become our enhancer. When the winged, sharp-pointed and bright arrows fall in the sky, you protect the one who protects us at that time. (11)
यत्र॒ शूरा॑सस्त॒न्वो॑ वितन्व॒ते प्रि॒या शर्म॑ पितॄ॒णाम् । अध॑ स्मा यच्छ त॒न्वे॒३॒॑ तने॑ च छ॒र्दिर॒चित्तं॑ या॒वय॒ द्वेषः॑ ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जब युद्ध में शूर शत्रुओं को अपने शरीर का बल दिखाते हैं एवं शत्रुओं से उनके पूर्वजों के प्रिय स्थान को छीनते हैं, उस समय तुम हमारी और हमारी संतान की शरीर-रक्षा के लिए आयुध-रक्षक कवच चुपचाप दे देना. तुम हमारे शत्रुओं को भगाओ. (१२)
EN English Translation
When in battle the knights show the strength of their bodies to the enemies and take away from the enemies the place of their ancestors, you quietly give the armor of the armaments to protect us and our offspring' bodies. You drive away our enemies. (12)
यदि॑न्द्र॒ सर्गे॒ अर्व॑तश्चो॒दया॑से महाध॒ने । अ॒स॒म॒ने अध्व॑नि वृजि॒ने प॒थि श्ये॒नाँ इ॑व श्रवस्य॒तः ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! महान् धन के निमित्त संग्राम आरंभ होने पर हमारे घोड़ों को ऊंचे-नीचे रास्ते पर इस प्रकार आगे बढ़ाना, जिस प्रकार कुटिल पथ पर मांस का इच्छुक बाज बढ़ता है. (१३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! When the struggle for great wealth begins, we should move our horses on the path of high and low in such a way as the willing hawk of meat grows on the crooked path. (13)
सिन्धू॑ँरिव प्रव॒ण आ॑शु॒या य॒तो यदि॒ क्लोश॒मनु॒ ष्वणि॑ । आ ये वयो॒ न वर्वृ॑त॒त्यामि॑षि गृभी॒ता बा॒ह्वोर्गवि॑ ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जब हमारे घोड़े भय के कारण जोर से हिनहिनाएं, उस समय तुम भुजाओं द्वारा लगाम के सहारे पकड़े हुए हमारे घोड़ों को प्रेरित करो. जिससे वे गो निमित्तक संग्राम में नीचे बहने वाली सरिताओं अथवा मांस के अभिलाषी बाज के समान आगे बढ़ें. (१४)
EN English Translation
O Indra! When our horses are loudly engrossed because of fear, at that time you inspire our horses holding them with the reins of the arms. So that they move forward like the streams flowing down in the go-friendly struggle or the desire for meat. (14)
