उद्वां॒ चक्षु॑र्वरुण सु॒प्रती॑कं दे॒वयो॑रेति॒ सूर्य॑स्तत॒न्वान् । अ॒भि यो विश्वा॒ भुव॑नानि॒ चष्टे॒ स म॒न्युं मर्त्ये॒ष्वा चि॑केत ॥ (१)

हे द्योतमान मित्र व वरुण! तुम्हारे चक्षु रूप एवं सौंदर्ययुक्त तेज का विस्तार करते हुए उदय होते हैं. जो सूर्य सारे लोकों को देखते हैं, वे मनुष्यों की स्तुतियों को भली प्रकार जानते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O friend and Varun! Your eyes rise, expanding the appearance and aesthetic brightness. The sun that sees all the realms knows the praises of men very well. (1)
प्र वां॒ स मि॑त्रावरुणावृ॒तावा॒ विप्रो॒ मन्मा॑नि दीर्घ॒श्रुदि॑यर्ति । यस्य॒ ब्रह्मा॑णि सुक्रतू॒ अवा॑थ॒ आ यत्क्रत्वा॒ न श॒रदः॑ पृ॒णैथे॑ ॥ (२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्र व वरुण! प्रसिद्ध, मेधावी, यज्ञकर्ता एवं चिरकाल तक सुनने वाले वसिष्ठ तुम्हारे लिए स्तुतियां बोलते हैं. शोभनकर्म वाले तुम दोनों उनकी स्तुति की रक्षा करते हो एवं अनेक वर्षों से उनका यज्ञ पूर्ण कर रहे हो. (२)
EN English Translation
Oh my friend and Varun! Vasishtha, the famous, the meritorious, the yagya-doer and the one who listened to eternity, speaks praises for you. Both of you who are doying good deeds protect their praise and have been completing their yajna for many years. (2)
प्रोरोर्मि॑त्रावरुणा पृथि॒व्याः प्र दि॒व ऋ॒ष्वाद्बृ॑ह॒तः सु॑दानू । स्पशो॑ दधाथे॒ ओष॑धीषु वि॒क्ष्वृध॑ग्य॒तो अनि॑मिषं॒ रक्ष॑माणा ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्र व वरुण! तुमने विस्तृत पृथ्वी एवं गुण तथा रूप के कारण विशाल अंतरिक्ष की परिक्रमा की है. हे शोभनदान वाले देवी! तुम दोनों सत्य पर चलने वाले का सदा पालन करते हुए ओषधियों एवं प्रजा के रूप धारण करते हो. (३)
EN English Translation
Oh my friend and Varun! You have orbited vast space because of the vast earth and the quality and form. O goddess of adornment! You both take the form of drugs and people, always following the one who follows the truth. (3)
शंसा॑ मि॒त्रस्य॒ वरु॑णस्य॒ धाम॒ शुष्मो॒ रोद॑सी बद्बधे महि॒त्वा । अय॒न्मासा॒ अय॑ज्वनाम॒वीराः॒ प्र य॒ज्ञम॑न्मा वृ॒जनं॑ तिराते ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे ऋषि! लुम मित्र एवं वरुण के तेज की प्रशंसा करो. उनकी शक्ति अपने महत्त्व के दवारा द्यावा-पृथिवी को अलग-अलग धारण करती है. यज्ञ न करने वाले के मास बिना पुत्रों के बीतें. यज्ञ के प्रति उनकी बुद्धि बल बढ़ावे. (४)
EN English Translation
O sage! Praise Lum Friend and Varun's speed. Their power holds the duality of their importance separately. The months of those who did not perform yajna passed without sons. Increase their intellect towards the yajna. (4)
अमू॑रा॒ विश्वा॑ वृषणावि॒मा वां॒ न यासु॑ चि॒त्रं ददृ॑शे॒ न य॒क्षम् । द्रुहः॑ सचन्ते॒ अनृ॑ता॒ जना॑नां॒ न वां॑ नि॒ण्यान्य॒चिते॑ अभूवन् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मूढ़तारहित, व्यापक एवं अभिलाषापूरक मित्र व वरुण! तुम्हारी स्तुतियों में आश्चर्य एवं आदर दिखाई नहीं देता. अर्थात् तुम्हारी स्तुतियां सच्ची हैं. लोगों की झूठी स्तुति तुम्हारे शत्रु स्वीकार करते हैं. तुम्हारे प्रति किए गए स्तोत्र रहस्यपूर्ण होते हुए भी अज्ञान के कारण न बनें. (५)
EN English Translation
O foolless, comprehensive and wishful friend and Varuna! There is no wonder and respect in your praises. That is, your praises are true. Your enemies accept the false praise of the people. Do not be for ignorance even though the hymns made to you are mysterious. (5)
समु॑ वां य॒ज्ञं म॑हयं॒ नमो॑भिर्हु॒वे वां॑ मित्रावरुणा स॒बाधः॑ । प्र वां॒ मन्मा॑न्यृ॒चसे॒ नवा॑नि कृ॒तानि॒ ब्रह्म॑ जुजुषन्नि॒मानि॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्र व वरुण! मैं स्तुतियों के द्वारा तुम्हारे यज्ञ की पूजा करता हूं एवं बाधा के निवारण हेतु तुम्हें बुलाता हूं. मैने तुम्हारे लिए नए स्तोत्र बनाए हैं. मेरे द्वारा एकत्रित स्तुतियां तुम्हें प्रसन्न करें. (६)
EN English Translation
Oh my friend and Varun! I worship your yajna through praises and call you to remove the obstacle. I've made new hymns for you. May the praises I have gathered please you. (6)
इ॒यं दे॑व पु॒रोहि॑तिर्यु॒वभ्यां॑ य॒ज्ञेषु॑ मित्रावरुणावकारि । विश्वा॑नि दु॒र्गा पि॑पृतं ति॒रो नो॑ यू॒यं पा॑त स्व॒स्तिभिः॒ सदा॑ नः ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मित्र व वरुण देव! तुम्हारे यज्ञ में यह पूजारूपी स्तुति की गई है. इसे स्वीकार करके हमारे सभी दुःखों को नष्ट करो एवं अपने कल्याणसाधनों द्वारा हमारी सदा रक्षा करो. (७)
EN English Translation
O friend and Varun Dev! In your yajna this pujaform has been praised. Accept it and destroy all our sufferings and protect us forever through your means of well-being. (7)
