इ॒दं व॑सो सु॒तमन्धः॒ पिबा॒ सुपू॑र्णमु॒दर॑म् । अना॑भयिन्ररि॒मा ते॑ ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे निवासस्थान देने वाले इंद्र! इस निचोड़े हुए सोमरस को पिओ. हे सर्वथा भयरहित इंद्र! तुम्हारे पेट भली प्रकार भर जावें. हम तुम्हें सोमरस देते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
O Indra, who gives the abode! Drink this squeezed somras. O absolutely fearless Indra! Fill your stomach well. We give you somers. (1)
नृभि॑र्धू॒तः सु॒तो अश्नै॒रव्यो॒ वारैः॒ परि॑पूतः । अश्वो॒ न नि॒क्तो न॒दीषु॑ ॥ (२)

नेताओं द्वारा धोया गया, कपड़ों की सहायता से निचोड़ा गया एवं मेष के बालों से पवित्र किया गया सोमरस नदी में स्नान किए हुए घोड़े के समान शोभित है. (२)
EN English Translation
Washed by the leaders, squeezed with the help of clothes and sanctified with the hair of Aries, The Somras is as embellished as a horse bathing in the river. (2)
तं ते॒ यवं॒ यथा॒ गोभिः॑ स्वा॒दुम॑कर्म श्री॒णन्तः॑ । इन्द्र॑ त्वा॒स्मिन्स॑ध॒मादे॑ ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जिस प्रकार जौ को गाय के दूध में मिलाकर स्वादिष्ट बनाया जाता है, उसी प्रकार हमने गोदुग्ध मिलाकर सोमरस को स्वादिष्ट किया है. मैं वह सोमरस पीने के लिए तुम्हें यज्ञ से बुलाता हूं. (३)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Just as barley is made delicious by mixing it with cow's milk, in the same way we have made the somras tasty by adding cow's milk. I call you to the yajna for drinking that somras. (3)
इन्द्र॒ इत्सो॑म॒पा एक॒ इन्द्रः॑ सुत॒पा वि॒श्वायुः॑ । अ॒न्तर्दे॒वान्मर्त्या॑ँश्च ॥ (४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
देवों एवं मानवों के बीच में एकमात्र इंद्र ही सोमरस पीने वाले हैं. वे सोम पीने के लिए सब अन्नों से युक्त हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
Indra is the only one among the gods and human beings who drink somras. They contain all the grains to drink the mon. (4)
न यं शु॒क्रो न दुरा॑शी॒र्न तृ॒प्रा उ॑रु॒व्यच॑सम् । अ॒प॒स्पृ॒ण्व॒ते सु॒हार्द॑म् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जिस कोमल हृदय वाले इंद्र को दीप्तिवाला सोम, दूध आदि से मिला सोम तथा तृप्ति देने वाला पुरोडाश अप्रसन्न नहीं करता, उसी इंद्र की हम स्तुति करते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
We praise the same Indra with a tender heart, the one who got the soma of deeptiwala, the soma from milk, etc., and the purodash that gives satiety does not displease. (5)
गोभि॒र्यदी॑म॒न्ये अ॒स्मन्मृ॒गं न व्रा मृ॒गय॑न्ते । अ॒भि॒त्सर॑न्ति धे॒नुभिः॑ ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
बहेलिए जिस प्रकार हरिणों को खोजते हैं, उसी प्रकार हमारे अतिरिक्त लोग गोदुग्ध आदि से मिले सोमरस की सहायता से इंद्र को खोजते हैं. वे लोग स्तुतियां बोलते हुए गलत ढंग से इंद्र के सामने जाते हैं, इसलिए उन्हें प्राप्त नहीं करते. (६)
EN English Translation
Just as the deer searches for the deer, so our other people search for Indra with the help of the somras found in godugandha etc. They wrongly go before Indra while speaking praises, so do not receive them. (6)
त्रय॒ इन्द्र॑स्य॒ सोमाः॑ सु॒तासः॑ सन्तु दे॒वस्य॑ । स्वे क्षये॑ सुत॒पाव्नः॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
निचोड़े हुए सोमरस को पीने वाले इंद्र देव के लिए यज्ञशाला में तीन प्रकार का सोमरस बनाया जावे. (७)
EN English Translation
Three types of somras should be made in the yajnashala for Indra Dev, who drinks the squeezed somras. (7)
त्रयः॒ कोशा॑सः श्चोतन्ति ति॒स्रश्च॒म्व१॒ः॑ सुपू॑र्णाः । स॒मा॒ने अधि॒ भार्म॑न् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
एक ही यज्ञ में तीन प्रकार के कलश सोमरस को धारण करते हैं एवं तीनों चमस भी सोने से पूर्ण हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
In the same yagna, three types of kalash hold the somras and all the three spoons are also full of gold. (8)
शुचि॑रसि पुरुनिः॒ष्ठाः क्षी॒रैर्म॑ध्य॒त आशी॑र्तः । द॒ध्ना मन्दि॑ष्ठः॒ शूर॑स्य ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोम! तुम पवित्र, अनेक पात्रों में भरे हुए एवं दूध-दही से मिश्रित हो. तुम शूर इंद्र को सबसे अधिक प्रसन्न करते हो. (९)
EN English Translation
Hey Mon! You are holy, filled in many vessels and mixed with milk and curd. You please the shur Indra the most. (9)
इ॒मे त॑ इन्द्र॒ सोमा॑स्ती॒व्रा अ॒स्मे सु॒तासः॑ । शु॒क्रा आ॒शिरं॑ याचन्ते ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! ये तीखे सोम तुम्हारे लिए हैं. हमारे द्वारा निचोड़े हुए एवं दीप्तिशाली दूध-दही से मिले हुए सोम तुम्हारी अभिलाषा करते हैं. (१०)
EN English Translation
O Indra! These sharp mons are for you. We have squeezed and mixed with bright milk-curd, Soma wishes you. (10)
ताँ आ॒शिरं॑ पुरो॒ळाश॒मिन्द्रे॒मं सोमं॑ श्रीणीहि । रे॒वन्तं॒ हि त्वा॑ शृ॒णोमि॑ ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम सोमों तथा दूध-दही आदि को मिलाओ. इस प्रकार मैं तुम्हें धन वाले के रूप में समझूं. (११)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You mix the somas and milk-curd etc. Thus I understand you as having wealth. (11)
हृ॒त्सु पी॒तासो॑ युध्यन्ते दु॒र्मदा॑सो॒ न सुरा॑याम् । ऊध॒र्न न॒ग्ना ज॑रन्ते ॥ (१२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! जिस प्रकार पी हुई शराब अतःकरण में परस्परविरोधी भाव उठाकर युद्ध कराती है, उसी प्रकार पिया हुआ सोम भी हृदय में युद्ध करता है. स्तोता सोमपूर्ण इंद्र की रक्षा गाय के थन के समान करते हैं. (१२)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Just as drunk alcohol leads to war by taking on conflicting feelings in the making, so does the drunk Som also fight in the heart. Stota Somapurna protects Indra like a cow's trunk. (12)
रे॒वाँ इद्रे॒वतः॑ स्तो॒ता स्यात्त्वाव॑तो म॒घोनः॑ । प्रेदु॑ हरिवः श्रु॒तस्य॑ ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे हरि नामक घोड़ों के स्वामी इंद्र! तुम धनवान् हो. तुम्हारा स्तोता भी धनवान् हो, तुम्हारे समान धनी एवं प्रसिद्ध व्यक्ति का स्तोता भी धन वाला ही होता है. (१३)
EN English Translation
O Indra, lord of horses named Hari! You are rich. Your stota is also rich, the hymn of a rich and famous person like you is also rich. (13)
उ॒क्थं च॒न श॒स्यमा॑न॒मगो॑र॒रिरा चि॑केत । न गा॑य॒त्रं गी॒यमा॑नम् ॥ (१४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्तुति न करने वाले के शत्रु इंद्र गाए जाते हुए उक्थ को जान लेते हैं. उस समय गाने योग्य गान गाया जाता है. (१४)
EN English Translation
Indra, the enemy of the one who does not praise, knows Uqth while being sung. At that time the songable anthem is sung. (14)
मा न॑ इन्द्र पीय॒त्नवे॒ मा शर्ध॑ते॒ परा॑ दाः । शिक्षा॑ शचीवः॒ शची॑भिः ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम मुझे हिंसा करने वाले शत्रु के हाथ में मत सौंपना. तुम मुझे पराजित करने वाले के अधिकार में भी मत सौंपना. हे शक्तिशाली इंद्र! तुम अपने कर्मा द्वारा हमें शक्तिशाली बनाओ. (१५)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Don't hand me over to the enemy who commits violence. Don't even entrust me to the authority of the defeater. O mighty Indra! You make us powerful by your karma. (15)
व॒यमु॑ त्वा त॒दिद॑र्था॒ इन्द्र॑ त्वा॒यन्तः॒ सखा॑यः । कण्वा॑ उ॒क्थेभि॑र्जरन्ते ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! हम तुम्हारे मित्र एवं तुम्हारी कामना करने वाले हैं. हम स्तोताओं का प्रयोजन तुम्हारी स्तुति करना है. हम कण्वगोत्रीय उक्थ मंत्रं द्वारा तुम्हारी स्तुति करते हैं. (१६)
EN English Translation
O Indra! We are your friends and your wishers. The purpose of we psalms is to praise you. We praise you through kanvagotriya uktha mantras. (16)
न घे॑म॒न्यदा प॑पन॒ वज्रि॑न्न॒पसो॒ नवि॑ष्टौ । तवेदु॒ स्तोमं॑ चिकेत ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे वज्रधारी एवं कर्मयुक्त इंद्र! तुम्हारे इस अभिनव यज्ञ में मैं किसी अन्य का स्तोत्र नहीं बोलता. मैं केवल तुम्हारी स्तुतियां ही जानता हूं. (१७)
EN English Translation
O indra with thunder and deeds! In this innovative yagna of yours, I do not speak the hymn of anyone else. I only know your praises. (17)
इ॒च्छन्ति॑ दे॒वाः सु॒न्वन्तं॒ न स्वप्ना॑य स्पृहयन्ति । यन्ति॑ प्र॒माद॒मत॑न्द्राः ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
देवता सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले यजमान को चाहते हैं. सोए हुए व्यक्ति को कोई नहीं चाहता. देव तंद्राहीन होकर नशीला सोम प्राप्त करते हैं. (१८)
EN English Translation
The deity wants the host to squeeze the Somras. No one wants a sleeping person. Dev gets intoxicated soma by being drowsy. (18)
ओ षु प्र या॑हि॒ वाजे॑भि॒र्मा हृ॑णीथा अ॒भ्य१॒॑स्मान् । म॒हाँ इ॑व॒ युव॑जानिः ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! तुम अन्रसहित हमारे सामने भली-भांति आओ. जिस प्रकार गुणी व्यक्ति युवति पत्नी पर क्रोध नहीं करता, उसी प्रकार तुम हम पर क्रोध मत करो. (१९)
EN English Translation
O Indra! You are aware of us and come well before us. Just as a virtuous person is not angry with the young wife, so do you not be angry with us. (19)
मो ष्व१॒॑द्य दु॒र्हणा॑वान्सा॒यं क॑रदा॒रे अ॒स्मत् । अ॒श्री॒र इ॑व॒ जामा॑ता ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शत्रुओं द्वारा असहय इंद्र! आज बुलाने पर हमारे पास आना. जैसे बुरा जमाई बुलाए जाने पर शाम को पहुंचता है, ऐसा तुम मत करना. (२०)
EN English Translation
O Indra, unbearable by enemies! Come to us on call today. Just as the bad jamai arrives in the evening when called, don't do it to you. (20)
वि॒द्मा ह्य॑स्य वी॒रस्य॑ भूरि॒दाव॑रीं सुम॒तिम् । त्रि॒षु जा॒तस्य॒ मनां॑सि ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम इस वीर इंद्र की अधिक धन देने वाली कल्याणबुद्धि को जानते हैं. हम तीनों लोकों में उत्पन्न इंद्र को जानते हैं. (२१)
EN English Translation
We know the more wealthy wisdom of this heroic Indra. We know Indra born in all the three realms. (21)
आ तू षि॑ञ्च॒ कण्व॑मन्तं॒ न घा॑ विद्म शवसा॒नात् । य॒शस्त॑रं श॒तमू॑तेः ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अध्वर्यु! कण्वगोत्रीय ऋषियों से युक्त इंद्र के लिए सोमरस अर्पित करो. हम अतिशय शक्तिशाली एवं सैकड़ों रक्षासाधनों से युक्त इंद्र की अपेक्षा यशस्वी किसी अन्य को नहीं जानते. (२२)
EN English Translation
O adhwaryu! Offer somras to Indra, consisting of kanvagotriya sages. We don't know anyone more successful than Indra, who is very powerful and with hundreds of defense tools. (22)
ज्येष्ठे॑न सोत॒रिन्द्रा॑य॒ सोमं॑ वी॒राय॑ श॒क्राय॑ । भरा॒ पिब॒न्नर्या॑य ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोमरस निचोड़ने वाले अध्वर्यु! मानवहितकारी, वीर एवं बलशाली इंद्र के लिए प्रमुख रूप में सोमरस दो. इंद्र सोमरस पिएं. (२३)
EN English Translation
O Somras squeezer adhwaryu! Somras do as the chief for the man-made, heroic and mighty Indra. Drink Indra Somras. (23)
यो वेदि॑ष्ठो अव्य॒थिष्वश्वा॑वन्तं जरि॒तृभ्यः॑ । वाजं॑ स्तो॒तृभ्यो॒ गोम॑न्तम् ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
जो इंद्र सुखकारक स्तोताओं को भली प्रकार जानते हैं, वे यज्ञों और स्तोताओं को घोड़ों और गायों से युक्त अन्न दें. (२४)
EN English Translation
Indra, who knows well the hymns of happiness, should give food containing horses and cows to the yajnas and worshipers. (24)
पन्य॑म्पन्य॒मित्सो॑तार॒ आ धा॑वत॒ मद्या॑य । सोमं॑ वी॒राय॒ शूरा॑य ॥ (२५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे सोमरस निचोड़ने वालो! तुम प्रमत्त करने योग्य, वीर एवं शूर इंद्र के लिए सब जगह स्तुतियोग्य सोमरस दो. (२५)
EN English Translation
O somers squeezer! worthy of respect, Give praiseworthy somrus everywhere to brave Indra. (25)
पाता॑ वृत्र॒हा सु॒तमा घा॑ गम॒न्नारे अ॒स्मत् । नि य॑मते श॒तमू॑तिः ॥ (२६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोमरस पीने वाले एवं वृत्रनाशक इंद्र आवें. वे हमसे दूर न जावें. सैकड़ों रक्षासाधनों वाले इंद्र शन्रुओं को वश में करें. (२६)
EN English Translation
Let somras drinker and Vrat destroyer Indra come. Don't let him go away from us. May the Indra subdue the enemies with hundreds of defences. (26)
एह हरी॑ ब्रह्म॒युजा॑ श॒ग्मा व॑क्षतः॒ सखा॑यम् । गी॒र्भिः श्रु॒तं गिर्व॑णसम् ॥ (२७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हव्य अन्न से युक्त एवं सुखकारक घोड़े स्तुतियों द्वारा प्रसिद्ध एवं सेवा करने योग्य मित्र इंद्र को यहां ले आवें. (२७)
EN English Translation
May the well-known and serviceable friend Indra be brought here by the praises of the happy and soothing horse hymns. (27)
स्वा॒दवः॒ सोमा॒ आ या॑हि श्री॒ताः सोमा॒ आ या॑हि । शिप्रि॒न्नृषी॑वः॒ शची॑वो॒ नायमच्छा॑ सध॒माद॑म् ॥ (२८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शिरस्त्राण वाले, ऋषियों से युक्त एवं शक्तिशाली इंद्र! यह सोम स्वादिष्ट है. तुम आओ. सोम में दूध-दही को मिला दिया गया है. तुम आओ. ये स्तोता इस समय तुम्हें अपने सामने बुलाते हैं. (२८)
EN English Translation
O you who have the headstrong, the rich and powerful Indra! It's mon delicious. You come. Milk-curd has been mixed in the mon. You come. These stotas call you in front of you at this time. (28)
स्तुत॑श्च॒ यास्त्वा॒ वर्ध॑न्ति म॒हे राध॑से नृ॒म्णाय॑ । इन्द्र॑ का॒रिणं॑ वृ॒धन्तः॑ ॥ (२९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे इंद्र! यज्ञकर्म करने वालों को बढ़ाते हुए स्तोता एवं स्तोत्र धन एवं बल पाने के लिए तुम्हारी वृद्धि करते हैं. (२९)
EN English Translation
O Indra! Increasing those who perform yajnakarma, the hymns and hymns increase you to get wealth and strength. (29)
गिर॑श्च॒ यास्ते॑ गिर्वाह उ॒क्था च॒ तुभ्यं॒ तानि॑ । स॒त्रा द॑धि॒रे शवां॑सि ॥ (३०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे स्तुतियों द्वारा वहन करने योग्य इंद्र! तुम्हारे निमित्त जो स्तुतियां एवं उक्थ हैं, वे सब एकत्र होकर तुम्हारी शक्ति को धारण करते हैं. (३०)
EN English Translation
O Indra affordable by the praises! All the praises and praises that are there for you come together and hold on to your power. (30)
