इ॒मे विप्र॑स्य वे॒धसो॒ऽग्नेरस्तृ॑तयज्वनः । गिरः॒ स्तोमा॑स ईरते ॥ (१)

हमारे स्तोता बुद्धिमान्, विधाता एवं यजमान की हिंसा न करने वाले अग्नि की स्तुति करते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
Our stothas praise the unspoken agni of the wise, the vidhata and the host. (1)
अस्मै॑ ते प्रति॒हर्य॑ते॒ जात॑वेदो॒ विच॑र्षणे । अग्ने॒ जना॑मि सुष्टु॒तिम् ॥ (२)

हे जातवेद एवं विशेष द्रष्टा अग्नि! तुम मुझे दान देने वाले हो. मैं तुम्हारे लिए शोभन स्तुतियों का निर्माण करता हूं. (२)
EN English Translation
O Jataveda and special seer Agni! You're gonna give me a donation. I create praises for you. (2)
आ॒रो॒का इ॑व॒ घेदह॑ ति॒ग्मा अ॑ग्ने॒ तव॒ त्विषः॑ । द॒द्भिर्वना॑नि बप्सति ॥ (३)

हे अग्नि! तुम्हारी तीखी किरणें आरोचमान पशुओं के समान दांतों से वनों को खाती हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
O agni! Your sharp rays eat forests with teeth like that of animals. (3)
हर॑यो धू॒मके॑तवो॒ वात॑जूता॒ उप॒ द्यवि॑ । यत॑न्ते॒ वृथ॑ग॒ग्नयः॑ ॥ (४)

हरणशील, वायु द्वारा प्रेरित एवं धूमरूपी ध्वज वाले अग्नि अंतरिक्ष में अलग-अलग जाते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
Fires with a wavy, wind-induced and smoky flag go separately into space. (4)
ए॒ते त्ये वृथ॑ग॒ग्नय॑ इ॒द्धासः॒ सम॑दृक्षत । उ॒षसा॑मिव के॒तवः॑ ॥ (५)

अलग-अलग प्रज्वलित ये अग्नियां उषाओं के ध्वजों के समान दिखाई देती हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
These different ignited agnis look like the flags of the Ushas. (5)
कृ॒ष्णा रजां॑सि पत्सु॒तः प्र॒याणे॑ जा॒तवे॑दसः । अ॒ग्निर्यद्रोध॑ति॒ क्षमि॑ ॥ (६)

जातवेद अग्नि जिस समय धरती पर सूखी लकड़ियों को जलाते हैं, तब अग्नि के गमन के समय धरती की धूल काली हो जाती है. (६)
EN English Translation
When the Jatveda agni burns dry wood on the earth, the dust of the earth becomes black at the time of the movement of the agni. (6)
धा॒सिं कृ॑ण्वा॒न ओष॑धी॒र्बप्स॑द॒ग्निर्न वा॑यति । पुन॒र्यन्तरु॑णी॒रपि॑ ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
अग्नि ओषधियों को अन्न समझकर भक्षण करते हुए शांत नहीं होते. वे युवा ओषधियों की ओर जाते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
The agni medicines are not considered food and eating and not calming down. They go to young herbs. (7)
जि॒ह्वाभि॒रह॒ नन्न॑मद॒र्चिषा॑ जञ्जणा॒भव॑न् । अ॒ग्निर्वने॑षु रोचते ॥ (८)

अग्नि अपनी ज्वालारूपी जीभों के द्वारा वनस्पतियों को झुकाते हैं एवं अपने तेज के द्वारा उन्हें खाकर वनों में सुशोभित होते हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
The agnis bend the vegetation through their incendiary tongues and beautify the forests by eating them through their sharpness. (8)
अ॒प्स्व॑ग्ने॒ सधि॒ष्टव॒ सौष॑धी॒रनु॑ रुध्यसे । गर्भे॒ सञ्जा॑यसे॒ पुनः॑ ॥ (९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! जल में तुम्हारे प्रवेश करने का स्थान है. तुम ओषधियों को रोकते हो एवं उन्हीं ओषधियों में गर्भरूप में स्थित होते हो. (९)
EN English Translation
O agni! The water is the place of your entry. You stop the drugs and are located in the form of the womb in those same medicines. (9)
उद॑ग्ने॒ तव॒ तद्घृ॒ताद॒र्ची रो॑चत॒ आहु॑तम् । निंसा॑नं जु॒ह्वो॒३॒॑ मुखे॑ ॥ (१०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम घृत द्वारा आहुत खुच का मुंह चाटते हो एवं तुम्हारी ज्वाला सुशोभित होती है. (१०)
EN English Translation
O agni! You lick the mouth of the ahut khuch with disgust and your flame is embellished. (10)
उ॒क्षान्ना॑य व॒शान्ना॑य॒ सोम॑पृष्ठाय वे॒धसे॑ । स्तोमै॑र्विधेमा॒ग्नये॑ ॥ (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
खाने योग्य हवि वाले, अभिलाषा करने योग्य अन्न वाले, सोम एवं घृत से युक्त पीठ वाले एवं अभिलाषाओं के विधाता अग्नि की सेवा हम स्तुतियों द्वारा करते हैं. (११)
EN English Translation
We serve the agni with praises, those with edible havi, those with a desireable food, those with a back of soma and a shroud, and the vidhata agni of desires. (11)
उ॒त त्वा॒ नम॑सा व॒यं होत॒र्वरे॑ण्यक्रतो । अग्ने॑ स॒मिद्भि॑रीमहे ॥ (१२)

हे देवों को बुलाने वाले एवं वरणीय प्रजा वाले अग्नि! हम समिधा एवं नमस्कार के द्वारा तुमसे याचना करते हैं. (१२)
EN English Translation
O agni of those who call the gods and the people of the people of choice! We beseech you through samidha and salutations. (12)
उ॒त त्वा॑ भृगु॒वच्छु॑चे मनु॒ष्वद॑ग्न आहुत । अ॒ङ्गि॒र॒स्वद्ध॑वामहे ॥ (१३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शुद्ध एवं बुलाए गए अग्नि! हम भृगु ऋषि, अंगिरा ऋषि एवं राजा मनु के समान तुम्हें बुलाते हैं. (१३)
EN English Translation
O pure and called agni! We call you like sage Bhrigu, Sage Angira and King Manu. (13)
त्वं ह्य॑ग्ने अ॒ग्निना॒ विप्रो॒ विप्रे॑ण॒ सन्स॒ता । सखा॒ सख्या॑ समि॒ध्यसे॑ ॥ (१४)

हे विद्वान्, साधु एवं सखा अग्नि! तुम विद्वान्, साधु एवं सखा अग्नियों की सहायता से जलते हो. (१४)
EN English Translation
O scholar, monk and sakha agni! You burn with the help of scholars, sadhus and sakha agnis. (14)
स त्वं विप्रा॑य दा॒शुषे॑ र॒यिं दे॑हि सह॒स्रिण॑म् । अग्ने॑ वी॒रव॑ती॒मिष॑म् ॥ (१५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे प्रसिद्ध अग्नि! तुम बुद्धिमान् हव्यदाता को हजारों धन एवं वीर संतान से युक्त धन दो. (१५)
EN English Translation
O famous agni! Give the wise giver thousands of riches and riches with brave children. (15)
अग्ने॒ भ्रातः॒ सह॑स्कृत॒ रोहि॑दश्व॒ शुचि॑व्रत । इ॒मं स्तोमं॑ जुषस्व मे ॥ (१६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यजमानों के भ्राता, शक्ति के द्वारा उत्पन्न रोहित नामक अश्व के स्वामी एवं शुद्धकर्म वाले अग्नि! तुम मेरे इस स्तोत्र को स्वीकार करो. (१६)
EN English Translation
O brother of hosts, lord of the horse named Rohita created by power and the agni of pure deeds! You accept this hymn of mine. (16)
उ॒त त्वा॑ग्ने॒ मम॒ स्तुतो॑ वा॒श्राय॑ प्रति॒हर्य॑ते । गो॒ष्ठं गाव॑ इवाशत ॥ (१७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! मेरी स्तुतियां तुम्हारे पास उसी प्रकार जा रही हैं, जिस प्रकार उत्सुक गाएं रंभाती हुई गोशाला में बछड़ों के पास जाती हैं. (१७)
EN English Translation
O agni! My praises go to you in the same way that eager cows go to calves in the goshala. (17)
तुभ्यं॒ ता अ॑ङ्गिरस्तम॒ विश्वाः॑ सुक्षि॒तयः॒ पृथ॑क् । अग्ने॒ कामा॑य येमिरे ॥ (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अंगिराओं में श्रेष्ठ अग्नि! सारी प्रजाएं अपनी अभिलाषापूर्ति के लिए अलग-अलग तुम्हारे पास आती हैं. (१८)
EN English Translation
O the great agni in the Angiras! All the people come to you separately to fulfill their desires. (18)
अ॒ग्निं धी॒भिर्म॑नी॒षिणो॒ मेधि॑रासो विप॒श्चितः॑ । अ॒द्म॒सद्या॑य हिन्विरे ॥ (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
स्वाभिमानी, मेधावी एवं विद्वान् यजमान अन्न पाने के लिए अग्नि को यज्ञको द्वारा प्रसन्न करते हैं. (१९)
EN English Translation
Self-respecting, meritorious and learned people please the agni through yajnako to get food. (19)
तं त्वामज्मे॑षु वा॒जिनं॑ तन्वा॒ना अ॑ग्ने अध्व॒रम् । वह्निं॒ होता॑रमीळते ॥ (२०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शक्तिशाली, हव्यवहन करने वाले, देवों को बुलाने वाले एवं प्रसिद्ध अग्नि! यज्ञशालाओं में यज्ञों का विस्तार करने वाले यजमान तुम्हारी स्तुति करते हैं. (२०)
EN English Translation
O mighty, human-loving, calling upon gods and the famous agni! The hosts who extend the yajnas in the yajnashalas praise you. (20)
पु॒रु॒त्रा हि स॒दृङ्ङसि॒ विशो॒ विश्वा॒ अनु॑ प्र॒भुः । स॒मत्सु॑ त्वा हवामहे ॥ (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! क्योंकि तुम प्रभु एवं बहुत से प्रदेशों में सभी प्रजाओं को समान रूप से देखने वाले हो, इसलिए हम तुम्हें युद्धों में बुलाते हैं. (२१)
EN English Translation
O agni! Because you are going to see the Lord and all the people equally in many lands, we call you into wars. (21)
तमी॑ळिष्व॒ य आहु॑तो॒ऽग्निर्वि॒भ्राज॑ते घृ॒तैः । इ॒मं नः॑ शृणव॒द्धव॑म् ॥ (२२)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
घृत के साथ आहुतियां पाकर विराजमान एवं हमारे इस आह्वान को सुनने वाले अग्नि की स्तुति करो. (२२)

Sit with the awfulness and praise the agni that listens to this call of ours. (22)
तं त्वा॑ व॒यं ह॑वामहे शृ॒ण्वन्तं॑ जा॒तवे॑दसम् । अग्ने॒ घ्नन्त॒मप॒ द्विषः॑ ॥ (२३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम जातवेद, शत्रुनाशक एवं हमारी पुकार सुनने वाले हो. हम तुम्हें बुलाते हैं. (२३)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are the JataVeda, the enemy and the one who hears Our call. We call you. (23)
वि॒शां राजा॑न॒मद्भु॑त॒मध्य॑क्षं॒ धर्म॑णामि॒मम् । अ॒ग्निमी॑ळे॒ स उ॑ श्रवत् ॥ (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मैं प्रजाओं के राजा, अद्भुत एवं यज्ञकर्मो के अध्यक्ष अग्नि की स्तुति करता हूं. वे मेरी स्तुति सुनें. (२४)
EN English Translation
I praise agni, the king of the people, the master of the wonderful and the yagnakarmos. They hear my praise. (24)
अ॒ग्निं वि॒श्वायु॑वेपसं॒ मर्यं॒ न वा॒जिनं॑ हि॒तम् । सप्तिं॒ न वा॑जयामसि ॥ (२५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हम सर्वगत-शक्ति वाले, बलशाली एवं मानवों के समान सबके हितकारी अग्नि को अपनी स्तुतियों द्वारा अश्व के समान शक्तिशाली बनाते हैं. (२५)
EN English Translation
We make the all-powerful, powerful, and human-benevolent agni as powerful as a horse through our praises. (25)
घ्नन्मृ॒ध्राण्यप॒ द्विषो॒ दह॒न्रक्षां॑सि वि॒श्वहा॑ । अग्ने॑ ति॒ग्मेन॑ दीदिहि ॥ (२६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम हिंसकों और द्वेषियों को नष्ट करते हुए एवं राक्षसों को जलाते हुए तीक्ष्ण तेज के द्वारा दीप्त बनो. (२६)
EN English Translation
O agni! Be overwhelmed by the sharp intensity, destroying the violent and the malice and burning the demons. (26)
यं त्वा॒ जना॑स इन्ध॒ते म॑नु॒ष्वद॑ङ्गिरस्तम । अग्ने॒ स बो॑धि मे॒ वचः॑ ॥ (२७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अंगिराओं में श्रेष्ठ अग्नि! तुम्हें जिस प्रकार मनु ने प्रज्वलित किया था, उसी प्रकार ये लोग जलाते हैं. तुम मेरी स्तुति जानो. (२७)
EN English Translation
O the great agni in the Angiras! Just as Manu ignited you, so do these people burn. You know my praise. (27)
यद॑ग्ने दिवि॒जा अस्य॑प्सु॒जा वा॑ सहस्कृत । तं त्वा॑ गी॒र्भिर्ह॑वामहे ॥ (२८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! तुम स्वर्गलोक में उत्पन्न, अंतरिक्ष में उत्पन्न एवं शक्ति से उत्पन्न हो. हम तुम्हें स्तुति द्वारा बुलाते हैं. (२८)
EN English Translation
O agni! You are born in heaven, born in space and born of power. We call you by praise. (28)
तुभ्यं॒ घेत्ते जना॑ इ॒मे विश्वाः॑ सुक्षि॒तयः॒ पृथ॑क् । धा॒सिं हि॑न्व॒न्त्यत्त॑वे ॥ (२९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! ये सब सेवक एवं शोभन प्रजाएं तुम्हारे भक्षण के लिए अलग अन्न देती हैं. (२९)
EN English Translation
O agni! All these servants and brave people give you separate food for your food. (29)
ते घेद॑ग्ने स्वा॒ध्योऽहा॒ विश्वा॑ नृ॒चक्ष॑सः । तर॑न्तः स्याम दु॒र्गहा॑ ॥ (३०)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे अग्नि! हम तुम्हारे लिए ही शोभन कर्म वाले एवं सभी दिवसों में तत्त्वद्रष्टा बनकर दुर्गम स्थानों को पार करेंगे. (३०)
EN English Translation
O agni! We will cross the difficult places for you as a philosopher on all days and with good deeds and on all days. (30)
