प्र यद्वस्त्रष्टुभमिषं मरुतो विप्रो अक्षरत्, वि पर्वतेषु राजथ.. (१)

हे मरुतो! जब विद्वान् ब्राहमण तीनों सवनों में प्रशंसनीय अन्न डालते हैं, तब तुम पर्वतो में प्रकाशित होते हो. (१)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! When the learned Brahmins pour praiseworthy food into the three sawas, you are illuminated in the mountains. (1)
यदङ्ग तविषीयवो यामं शुभ्रा अचिध्वम्, नि पर्वता अहासत.. (२)

हे शक्ति के इच्छुक एवं शोभन मरुतो! जब तुम रथ में घोड़े जोड़ते हो, तब तुम्हारे भय से पर्वत भी कांप जाते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
O godly and desirous of power, Maruto! When you add horses to the chariot, the mountains tremble with your fear. (2)
उदीरयन्त वायुभिर्वाश्रासः पृश्चिमातरः. धुक्षन्त पिप्युषीमिषम्,. (३)

शब्द करने वाले एवं पृश्नि के पुत्र मरुद्गण हवाओं द्वारा बादलों को ऊपर उठाते हैं एवं बुद्धि बढ़ाने वाला अन्न दान करते हैं. (३)
EN English Translation
The marudgans, the words and the sons of the earth, raise the clouds up by the winds and donate the food that increases the intellect. (3)
वपन्ति मरुतो मिहं प्र वेपयन्ति पर्वतान्, यद्यामं यान्ति वायुभिः.. (४)

मरुद्गण जब हवाओं के साथ चलते हैं, तब वर्षा को बिखेरते हैं एवं पहाड़ों को कंपित करते हैं. (४)
EN English Translation
When deserts move with the winds, they scatter the rain and make the mountains tremble. (4)
नि यद्यामाय वो गिरिर्नि सिन्धवो विधर्मणे. महे शुष्माय येमिरे. (५)

हे मरुतो! तुम्हारे रथ के गमन के लिए पर्वतों का मार्ग नियत है. नदियां रक्षा एवं महान् बल पाने के लिए निश्चित मार्ग वाली हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! The path to the mountains is destined for the movement of your chariot. Rivers are the surest way to get protection and strength. (5)
युष्माँ उ नक्तमूतये युष्मान्दिवा हवामहे. युष्मान्प्रयत्यध्वरे.. (६)

हे मरुतो! हम तुम्हें अपनी रक्षा के लिए रात में, दिन में एवं यज्ञ के आरंभ में बुलाते हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! We call you at night, in the day and at the beginning of the yagna to protect you. (6)
उदु त्ये अरुणप्सवश्चित्रा यामेभिरीरते. वाश्रा अधि ष्णुना दिवः.. (७)

वे ही लाल रंग वाले, विचित्र एवं शब्द करने वाले मरुद्गण अपने रथ द्वारा झुलोक के ऊंचे भाग से आते हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
They are the red-colored, strange and word-making deserts who come from the high part of the jhuloka by their chariots. (7)
सृजन्ति रश्मिमोजसा पन्थां सूर्याय यातवे. ते भानुभिर्वि तस्थिरे.. (८)

जो मरुद्गण सूर्य के चलने के लिए किरणरूपी मार्ग बनाते हैं, वे अपने तेजों द्वारा स्थित रहते हैं. (८)
EN English Translation
The deserts who form the ray-like path for the sun to walk are located by their brightness. (8)
इमां मे मरुतो गिरमिमं स्तोममृभुक्षणः. इमं मे वनता हवम्.. (९)

हे मरुतो! मेरे इस स्तुतिवचन को मानो. हे महान् मरुतो! मेरे इस स्तोत्र को स्वीकार करो एवं मेरी इस पुकार को पूरा करो. (९)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! Believe this eulogy of mine. O great Maruto! Accept this psalm of mine and fulfill my call. (9)
त्रीणि सरांसि पृश्नयो दुदुह्ले व्रिणे मधु. उत्सं कवन्धमुद्रिणम् ..(१०)

वज्रधारी इंद्र के लिए पृश्चियों ने सोमरस को झरनों, जल और मेघ से दुहा था. (१०)
EN English Translation
For the thunderous Indra, the earth had milked Somras with waterfalls, water and clouds. (10)
मरुतो यद्ध वो दिवः सुम्नयन्तो हवामहे. आ तू न उप गन्तन.. (११)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! अपने सुख की इच्छा करते हुए हम तुम्हें स्वर्ग से जिस समय बुलाते हैं, उस समय हमारे पास जल्दी आओ. (११)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! Come to us quickly at the time we call you from heaven, wishing for your happiness. (11)
यूयं हि ष्ठा सुदानवो रुद्रा ऋभुक्षणो दमे. उत प्रचेतसो मदे.. (१२)

हे शोभनदान वाले, रुद्रपुत्र एवं महान् मरुतो! तुम यज्ञशाला में नशीला सोमरस पीकर शोभनज्ञान वाले बन जाते हो. (१२)
EN English Translation
O you who are adorned, the son of Rudra and the great one! You become a person of adornment by drinking intoxicating somras in the yajnashala. (12)
आ नो रयिं मदच्युतं पुरुक्षुं विश्वधायसम्. इयर्ता मरुतो दिवः.. (१३)

हे शुभ्र मरुतो! हमारे लिए स्वर्ग से नशा टपकाने वाला, बहुत से लोगों द्वारा प्रशंसित एवं सबका भरण करने वाला अन्न लाओ. (१३)
EN English Translation
O Lord Maruto! Bring us food that is intoxicating from heaven, admired by many and to feed everyone. (13)
अधीव यद् गिरीणां यामं शुभ्रा अचिध्वम्, सुवानैर्मन्दध्व इन्दुभिः.. (१४)

हे शुभ्र मरुतो! जब तुम पहाड़ के ऊपर अपना रथ ले जाते हो, तब तुम निचोड़े हुए सोमरस के कारण मतवाले होते हो. (१४)
EN English Translation
O Lord Maruto! When you take your chariot over the mountain, you are drunk because of the squeezed somers. (14)
एतावतश्चिश्चदेषां सुम्नं भिक्षेत मर्त्यः, अदाभ्यस्य मन्मभिः.. (१५)

स्तोता अपने स्तोत्रों द्वारा अपराजेय मरुतों से अपना सुख मांगता है. (१५)

The psalms, through their hymns, ask for their happiness from the unbeatable maruts. (15)
ये द्रप्साइव रोदसी धमन्त्यनु वृष्टिभिः. उत्सं दुहन्तो अक्षितम्. (१६)

मरुद्गण संपूर्ण मेघ को दुहते हैं और पानी की बूंदों के समान वर्षा के द्वारा द्यावा- पृथिवी को ठीक से घेर लेते हैं. (१६)
EN English Translation
Deserts milk the entire cloud and properly surround the earth by rain like drops of water. (16)
उदु सवानेभिरीरत उद्रथैरुदु वायुभिः. उत्स्तोमैः पृश्चिमातरः.. (१७)

पृश्नि के पुत्र मरुत् शब्द करते हुए अपने रथों, हवाओं एवं मंत्रों द्वारा ऊपर जाते हैं. (१७)
EN English Translation
The sons of the earth go up with their chariots, winds and mantras, chanting the divine words. (17)
येनाव तुर्वशं यदुं येन कण्वं धनस्पृतम्, राये सु तस्य धीमहि.. (१८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे मरुतो! जिस साधन से तुमने तुर्वश एवं यदु की रक्षा की थी तथा धन चाहने वाले कण्व की रक्षा की थी, हम धन पाने के लिए उसी रक्षासाधन का ध्यान करते हैं. (१८)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! By the means by which you protected Turvash and Yadu and protected the kanva who wants money, we meditate on the same rakshasadhan to get money. (18)
इमा उ वः सुदानवो घृतं न पिप्युषीरिषः. वर्धान्काण्वस्य मन्मभिः.. (१९)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे शोभन दान वाले मरुतो! घी की तरह शरीर को पुष्ट करने वाले इस अन्न की वृद्धि कण्व की स्तुतियों की भांति करो. (१९)
EN English Translation
O you who don't have the gifts! Grow this grain that strengthens the body like ghee, like the praises of the kanva. (19)
क्व नूनं सुदानवो मदथा वृक्तबर्हिषः. ब्रह्मा को वः सपर्यति. (२०)

हे शोभनदान वाले मरुतो! तुम्हारे लिए कुश उखाड़े गए हैं. तुम इस समय किस स्थान पर प्रसन्न हो? कौन स्तोता तुम्हारी सेवा कर रहा है? (२०)

O you who are blessed, Maruto! Kushs have been uprooted for you. What place are you happy at this time? Who's the psalm serving you? (20)
नहि ष्म यद्ध वः पुरा स्तोमेभिर्वृक्त बर्हिषः. शर्धा ऋतस्य जिन्वथ.. (२१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
हे यज्ञ में संलग्न मरुतो! तुम हमारे स्तोत्र सुनने से पहले ही दूसरों की स्तुतियों से अपना यज्ञ संबंधी बल बढ़ाते हो, यह बात उचित नहीं है. (२१)
EN English Translation
O Maruto engaged in the yajna! It is not fair that you increase your sacrificial strength with the praises of others even before you hear our hymns. (21)
समु त्ये महतीरपः सं क्षोणी समु सूर्यम्, सं वज्रं पर्वशो दधुः.. (२२)

मरुतों ने विस्तृत ओषधियों में जलों का संयोग किया था, द्यावा-पृथिवी को यथास्थान अवस्थित किया था, सूर्य को अपने स्थान पर रखा एवं वृत्रों को टुकड़ेटुकड़े करने के लिए वज्र धारण किया. (२२)
EN English Translation
The Maruts had combined the waters in the widest of herbs, placed the dyava-prithvi in place, placed the sun in their place, and wore a thunderbolt to break the circles into pieces. (22)
वि वृत्रं पर्वशो ययुर्वि पर्वताँ अराजिनः. चक्राणा वृष्णि पौंस्यम्. (२३)

स्वामीरहित एवं शक्तिशाली उत्साह का प्रदर्शन करते हुए मरुतों ने पर्वत के समान वृत्र के टुकड़ेटुकड़े कर दिए थे. (२३)
EN English Translation
Displaying the masterless and powerful enthusiasm, the Maruts had chopped the vritra into pieces like a mountain. (23)
अनु त्रितस्य युध्यतः शुष्ममावन्नुत क्रतुम्, अनिविनद्रं वृत्रतूर्ये. (२४)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
मरुद्गण ने युद्ध करते हुए त्रित की शक्ति तथा यज्ञकर्म की रक्षा की थी. उन्होंने वृत्रहनन के समय इंद्र की रक्षा की थी. (२४)
EN English Translation
Marudgana protected the power and yajna karma of trit while fighting. He protected Indra at the time of Vritrahnan. (24)
विद्युद्धस्ता अभिद्यवः शिप्राः शीर्षन्हिरण्ययीः. शुभ्रा व्यञ्जत श्रिये. (२५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
चमकते हुए आयुध हाथ में रखने वाले, दीप्तिशाली एवं शोभायुक्त मरुतों ने सुंदरता बढ़ाने के लिए अपने सिर पर टोप धारण किया. (२५)

The shining armaments, radiant and graceful maruts, who held in their hands, wore hats on their heads to enhance beauty. (25)
उशना यत्परावत उक्ष्णो रन्ध्रमयातन. द्यौर्न चक्रदद्भिया.. (२६)

हे मरुतो! तुम उशना ऋषि की स्तुति सुनकर अपने वर्षा करने वाले रथ द्वारा दूर स्थान से आए थे. उस समय धरती डर से द्युलोक के समान कांपने लगी थी. (२६)
EN English Translation
O Maruto! You came from a far away place by your raining chariot after hearing the praise of the sage Ushna. At that time, the earth trembled like a doloka in fear. (26)
आ नो मखस्य दावनेऽश्वैर्हिरण्यपाणिभिः. देवास उप गन्तन.. (२७)

मरुत् देव हमारे यज्ञ का फल देने के लिए सोने के पैरों वाले घोड़ों की सहायता से आए थे. (२७)

The desert came with the help of horses with golden feet to bear the fruit of our yagna. (27)
यदेषां पृषती रथै प्रष्टिर्वहति रोहितः. यान्ति शुभ्रा रिणन्नपः. (२८)

इन मरुतों के रथ को जिस समय सफेद बिंदुओं वाली हिरनियां खींचती हैं एवं रोहित- मृग वहन करता है, उस समय सुंदर मरुत् जाते हैं और जल बहता है. (२८)
EN English Translation
At the time when the chariot of these maruts is pulled by the greens with white dots and the Rohita-antelope is carried, the beautiful desert goes and the water flows. (28)
सुषोमे शर्यणावत्यार्जीके पस्त्यावति. ययुर्निचक्रया नरः.. (२९)

नेता मरुद्गण ऋजीक देश में वर्तमान शर्यणावत स्थान के तालाब के पास बनी सोमरस युक्त यज्ञशाला में अपने रथ के पहिए नीचे की ओर करके जाते हैं. (२९)

The leader, Marudgana, goes down the wheels of his chariot in the yagyashala with somras built near the pond of the present Sharyanavat place in the Arjik country. (29)
कदा गच्छाथ मरुत इत्था विप्रं हवमानम्, मार्डीकेभिर्नाधमानम्.. (३०)

हे मरुतो! तुम इस प्रकार पुकारने वाले, याचना करते हुए एवं बुद्धिमान् स्तोता के पास सुख का कारण धन लेकर कब आओगे? (३०)

O Maruto! When will you come to the wise stota with money, who so calls, begs, and the wise stota, the reason for happiness? (30)
