एष धिया यात्यण्व्य शूरो रथेभिराशुभिः । गच्छन्निन्द्रस्य निष्कृतम् ॥ (१)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम शूरवीर हैं. अंगुलियों से इन्हें निचोड़ा जाता है. ये जल्दी चलने वाले रथ से बुद्धिपूर्वक इंद्र के पास जाते हैं. (१)
EN English Translation
Som is a knight. They are squeezed with fingers. They intelligently go to Indra in a fast-moving chariot. (1)

यज्ञ स्थान में बहुत से देवता प्रतिष्ठित हैं. ये उस यज्ञ स्थल में बुद्धिपूर्वक अगणित कार्य करने की इच्छा रखते हैं. (२)
EN English Translation
Many gods are revered in the yajna place. They wish to do countless work wisely in that yajna site. (2)
एतं मृजन्ति मर्ज्यमुप द्रोणेष्वायवः । प्रचक्राणं महीरिषः ॥ (३)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
यजमान सोमरस को परिष्कृत कर के द्रोणकलश में भरते हैं. यह रसीला व अन्नों को उत्पन्न करने वाला है. (३)
EN English Translation
The host refines someras and fills it in dronalakash. It is succulent and food-producing. (3)
एष हितो वि नीयतेऽन्तः शुन्ध्यावता पथा । यदी तुञ्जन्ति भूर्णयः ॥ (४)

सोम को यज्ञ स्थान पर ले जाया जाता है. वहां पर पुरोहित उसे शुद्ध करते हैं, पवित्र बनाते हैं, तब देवताओं के हवि के रूप में इस का प्रयोग किया जाता है. (४)
EN English Translation
Som is taken to the yajna place. There the priests purify it, make it holy, then it is used as the havi of the gods. (4)
एष रुक्मिभिरीयते वाजि शुभ्रेभिरँशुभिः । पतिः सिन्धूनां भवन् ॥ (५)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम रसों के राजा और पवित्र सफेद किरणों वाले हैं. वे घोड़े की तरह जल्दी से याजकों के पास जाते हैं. (५)
EN English Translation
Soma is the king of rasas and has holy white rays. They go to the priests quickly like horses. (5)
एष शृङ्गाणि दोधुवच्छिशीते यूथ्यो३ वृषा । नृम्णा दधान ओजसा ॥ (६)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
शक्तिशाली बैल जैसे पशुओं के झुंड में अपना बल दिखाता है, वैसे ही सोम अपनी शक्ति प्रकट करते हैं. सोम वैभव व बलशाली हैं. (६)
EN English Translation
Just as the powerful bull shows its force in a herd of animals, Soma reveals his power. Som is splendour and strong. (6)
एष वसूनि पिब्दनः परुषा ययिवाँ अति । अव शादेषु गच्छति ॥ (७)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम हिंसकों का नाश कर देते हैं. वे पीड़ा पहुंचाने के लिए भी सताते हैं. वे उन्हें सीमा में रखते हैं. वे बहुत शक्तिशाली और क्षमतावान हैं. (७)
EN English Translation
Som destroys the violent. They also persecute to cause pain. They keep them in limits. They are very powerful and capable. (7)
एतमु त्यं दश क्षिपो हरिँ हिवन्ति यातवे । स्वायुधं मदिन्तमम् ॥ (८)
हि हिन्दी अनुवाद
सोम मदकारी, आयुध वाले, हरित कांति वाले व भीतर की शक्ति (अंतःकरण की) धरते हैं. दसों अंगुलियों से मसल कर इन्हें निचोड़ा जाता है. इन्हें देवताओं को चढ़ाया जाता है. (८)
EN English Translation
Som is the one who is mad, the one with the armament, the green radiance and the power within (of the conscience). They are squeezed by massaging them with ten fingers. They are offered to the gods. (8)
